I LOVED this. What a sweet, realistic portrayal of a relationship starting out. The vast majority of these pages had me laughing out loud because I have experienced the exact same thing. With quirky, imaginative drawings and heartfelt, simple dialogue that speaks truth, this book is something I will revisit again and again.
Happily Ever After and Everything in Between follows the everyday life of a newlywed couple. Just like the title implies, it’s everything in between and behind the scenes of couple in love. We see the simple moments like picking out what movie to watch, choosing where to eat, buying their first house together, meeting other “couple friends” and many more moments most couples go through in their early stages of a relationship.
Debbie Tung is a new author to me, but I would be interested in checking out more stuff by her after reading this cute graphic novel. I found this to be very charming, cute, and relatable. The story is very simple, and the artwork was very simple and nicely done.
I love that the author shared some moments of her first year of marriage with her readers. It took me back to my first year of marriage, and I found most of the scenes to be accurate and relatable. Most people who would read this would be able to find a spot somewhere in the comic and think, “this sounds just like us when we went through that.”
I wish it were a little longer, and I also wish there was a little more substance or meat to the story. There wasn’t much to the story and I didn’t feel like there was an overall plot to the story. But I still understand and appreciate the stories that depict the “average day” of a young couple.
A collection of Debbie Tung's web comic about the early years of her marriage. It's absolutely adorable and cute. Anyone who has been in a long term relationship can relate.
This was just adorable. A relatable graphic novel about life in a relationship. I think there’s something in here that everyone can connect with. The illustrations were cute and stories funny at times!
This was sweet. Just a short book of cute. My favorite parts were the ones about books... buying books.... reading books... reacting to books to your significant other... mmm books. Mmm love.
I like this comic series pretty well it does show life as newlyweds and most circumstances I also like the art style being black and white.
The art was cute and the humor endearing, but a little too one note (there were at least five cartoons that were variations on the characters walking into a room and saying "I love you!"). Sweet but unsubstantial.
This had so many cute moments, and I love Tung's realistic portrayals of the everyday life of an introvert. As is usual in Tung's work, this had many relatable moments for introverts and book lovers.
In general, however, I just didn't find it quite as cute or humorous as I did Quiet Girl in a Noisy World. It had a lot of cliches and pages that, to me, felt redundant. Definitely the cutest ending though, and it's a quick, heartwarming read, so I'd definitely recommend it for fans of Tung's work.
While I liked some of these, I didn't like most. I was surprised given how much I loved book love. I think this is a case of me and not the book itself. I will not be reviewing this one on my blog.

*Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for providing me with an early copy of this book for review, all opinions are my own*
I loved this book, the comics are very cute and I even managed to find some that reminded me of my relationship with my boyfriend.
I highly recommend it especially if you are in a relationship!
I have waited for another Debbie Tung's new book since I finished the previous ones. Besides, both of Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story and Book Love are my all-time-favorite graphic novels. I believe Happily Ever After & Everything In Between will bring lots of joy and happiness when I read it. To be honest, that's exactly how I feel as getting to know more stories about Debbie and his husband's sweet married life. Their relationship is so adorable. I can't even stop smiling as indulging in their interesting daily life with full of love and pleasure.
From Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story to this book, not only to get to know Debbie, who is an introvert with a great passion of books (So am I!), but also realize how love makes her life be more wonderful like a sparkle. Although they start to find out each other's bad habits, they still embrace them and cherish their relationship. That's how this book is so soothing that gives me the warm feeling and positive power.
So cute, relatable, and easy to read! Perfect for quarantine months when we are spending so much time in close quarters with our loved ones, the good and the bad.
I really enjoyed Book Love by this author and was excited to see a new work by the same author, so jumped at the chance to read this.
I'm not in the right head-space for this book right now, which is sad, as it is cute, the artwork is great and the autobiographical parts are expressed well, but it just didn't work for me at this time.
Completely the reader on this one, not the book at all. 3, I wish I wasn't so meh, stars.
My thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.
Thanks to the publishers for sharing this book. I read Debbie Tung's previous book Book Love and enjoyed this one just as much. It's very relatable. My full review appears on Weekend Notes.
I like the drawing. Every panels are cute. The character are adorable in some ways. I wonder how they look like in brighter color.
This is the first book of Debbie Tung that I read, I would like to read another one.
I absolutely loved this book. I read it on one sitting and wish it could have lasted longer. It was a very quick read. My husband and I have been married for 2.5 years and this book was so relatable. I kept stopping to show him the pages that reminded me the most of us. It made me realize we aren’t that weird if there is another couple just like us! Can’t wait to read more comics by Debbie Tung! I just ordered “Quiet Girl in a Noisy Word”. I hope I find it just as relatable!
That couple you're giving that "Our First Christmas" ornament to? They need this book. Because it doesn't matter how well you know life will go now that you're committed and married, pre-wedding there are so many normal every day things that you don't realize will happen. This book embraces that. The comics are just a reminder that even when one of you snores so loud the other cannot sleep, those moments happen to every couple and it doesn't mean you love each other any less.
Happily Ever After & Everything In Between by Debbie Tung is a selection of relatable, funny, heartwarming comics. Very relatable.
I loved this!
Debbie's illustrations are comforting to read. You can always find something relatable in them. I laughed and i ''awwed'' a lot. This comic is all about Debbie's marriage and you can tell she chose her best friend and they compliment each other well. Long termed partners i'm sure would find this true to them. I would recommend this for a good feel read and also a chuckle here and there. I look forward to more of Debbie's work
I'm pretty sure Debbie Tung put a video camera in my house and drew my husband and I in our daily life! Honestly though, this collection of comics was so incredibly relatable I kept having to stop and show almost every picture to my partner. The illustrations were also adorable and the path the story took was precious. I would definitely recommend this to other readers.
