Description

From the bestselling author of Quiet Girl in a Noisy World and Book Love comes a funny and adorable collection of comics about married life. From choosing a movie and sharing (or not sharing) dessert to snoring (naturally) and knowing when someone needs a cup of tea and a cozy blanket, Happily Ever After is the perfect gift for anyone in a relationship.

The comics in Happily Ever After & Everything In Between may be inspired by Debbie Tung’s marriage to her extrovert husband, but any couple can relate to increasingly relaxed anniversaries and slowly seeing more of each other’s weird sides. Happily Ever After humorously captures what everyday love looks like—both the sweet moments and the mundane—making it a fitting gift for weddings, anniversaries, and Valentine’s Day.

An honest view of a newly married couple in the form of a comic, this an easy read that will put a smile on your face.

Debbie Tung is back and this time she is talking about marriage and relationships. I loved Book Love so I couldn’t resist requesting this book through Netgalley as soon as I saw it.

These comics were like seeing my own marriage and I loved it. Every comic was relatable and adorable. I especially loved the last two comics, they made a perfect ending to seeing their relationship play out.

Overall, I cannot recommend this book enough, or any of Tung’s comics really. They are wonderful, heartfelt, and very relatable. I can’t wait to read the next comic.

Happily Every After & Everything In Between is exactly as it advertises, an endearing and subtle look at the relationship between a happily married couple. I found myself saying "aw" and "exactly!" rather than laughing out loud, but that did not detract from my full enjoyment of the comics. A must read for couples!

I just love Debbie's illustrations and how she can take simple moments in anyone's life and make comics that we can identify with. I really liked how the story follows a chronological order from the wedding, the purchase of the house and the couple's first steps. At various moments you laugh, but during all 160 pages you have a warm heart, because it is beautiful to know that there are couples like this in the world. Also, has so many beautiful illustrations!

This was so ridiculously cute and funny. Light hearted and so incredibly relatable. I was not expecting to see my husband and me in every comic. Super quick read. Fun and honest. I really enjoyed this. It would make a great gift for newlyweds and married couples. So cute!

I am a big fan of relationship comics because of their hilarious relatability and Debbie's work did not disappoint!

This comic book was such a sweet and nice read. I really like to read book comics about small everyday moments and this was no exception. I think that the main characters were pretty relatable and funny and I would love to read more about them. Also, this book had the sweetest ending!

I have now read all of Debbie Tung's graphic novels and everyone of them is always a pleasure to read. The author incorporates her struggles with mental health/ anxiety into her stories and that element is greatly appreciated by myself (possibly a lot more people). Her husband has been featured in the previous books and now we get to see more the cute romance between the two. Hopefully I can get all three books in physical form to own.

Glimpses into a young low-key couple's first few years of marriage. The initial awkward thrill of their new living situation that gradually becomes a comfortable familiarity. More cute than funny. Some of the bits are standard tried & true husband/wife jokes with a Millennial slant.

'Happily Ever After & Everything In Between' is such an adorable comic about life after marriage. I swear, this made me just adore the concept of marrying your best friend and one true love. Sure, couples will go through troubles but Debbie Tung makes marriage seem like a beautiful thing. I quite enjoyed reading this and even laughed loudly about some of the things the characters say or think. Definitely would recommend to couples or even single people.

This was lovely and incredibly sweet - a perfect read for the current state of the world. I'm not married myself, but I thought it was an adorable look inside a marriage. There were so many relatable and funny moments! I would really recommend this if you are looking to interested in reading comics.

I love Debbie Tung! I follow her on Instagram and own both of her previous books so I was excited to get a chance to review an early copy of this one. This wasn't as relatable as her previous books for me, but still cute. I was a little confused as to whether it was trying to tell a story through the book or was just a collection of themed comics as in her past two books (Book Love and Quiet Girl in a Noisy World)

Thanks to Andrew McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for my copy to review.

Debbie Tung creates beautifully relatable and adorable comics. I feel her books provide a safe space for introverts to feel that their behaviours are normal. This book focuses on her life after marriage to her husband and how they show their love and do their day-to-day activities. I loved this, despite being extremely single.

Dearest friends, this was just the sweetest read and a great way to kick off the month of April. I absolutely loved this comic and in some ways, remind me very much of my own marriage with my partner. It’s funny, charming, and just the little things about married life. It also reminds you to take a moment to appreciate everything you have in these challenging times. The perfect read if you need that quick pick me up!

Our story follows two characters who are newly weds. This book shows their every day life and their interactions with one another. They share funny moments, the chaoticness that can come with being married, and even moments of awe. We even have moments where they spend time with their friends and it shows how things can change once you get married. The moving scenes are absolute hilarious perfection!

I really loved this book and I loved all the moments the couple shared. I think many newly weds and even married couples will be able to relate to this graphic novel very easily. The characters are easy to see oneself in and even if you’re not married, I think someone could related to the things happening in this graphic novel. The ending is probably the sweetest part though! It ends on such a feel good note and I would be lying if I didn’t say I ‘awe’d’ a few times before finally turning the page.

Overall, I think it’s easy to tell that I enjoyed this graphic novel and found that it brought a lot of sappy feelings into my heart. I think now is the perfect time to pick up all those feel good books and this is one you don’t want to miss out on. It’s super endearing, really precious, and just the book many readers need in their life right now! I highly recommend giving it a try and letting the wholesome goodness of this book make you a little warmer!

Happily Ever After and Everything in Between Debbie Tung

What an adorable graphic novel! I loved the way she drew, very realistic but still the comic style I like. Nothing overly abstract where I tilt my head and say “What the f*&k is that supposed to be?”

The storyline is simple, Tung invites us into her home, her life, and her heart from the moment she marries her husband. And it is a privilege to witness what they share.
This is the life I have always dreamt of when I think about what marriage is supposed to be. Not perfect, not always pretty, but always shared with someone who understands you. Someone who doesn’t question what the largest part of the monthly budget is set aside for books. LOL!

This novel and others like it proves we are all the same. Straight, Gay, Lesbian, we are all looking for that match, that other half to call home. It’s a beautiful thing to see. I hope Debbie Tung makes a sequel. I’m sure parenthood will be just as hilarious as those ‘Honeymoon years”.
Highly recommended!

I received this comic free from Netgalley for my honest, unbiased review.

Omg, can you say adorable?
This comic is so incredibly relatable. Or, if you're like me and are still painfully single, it's relatable to the desired image of a relationship in your head.
I found myself smiling and even laughing at some of the pages. The author, Debbie Tung, is incredibly talented in her ability to creatively portray a young married couple. It was silly at times, but sweet as well. It made me want to look up her other comic strips.

Thank you to Netgalley and Andrews Mandel Publishing for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for my honest opinion. The publish date is June 02, 2020.

I literally just finished this book and am so pleasantly surprised! I usually enjoy graphic novels/ cartoons but in this case I was able to relate to almost every single page in this hilarious amalgamation. It completely exceeded my expectations going in!

“Happily Ever After & Everything In Between” isn’t one flowy, long story, but a collection of short discussions, activities, disagreements, and everyday situations that occur in relationships. I am not married, but have been with my significant other for 5 years and I found myself nodding in agreement or laughing out loud the entire time. SO much of what author, Debbie Tung, writes about is “us”, as I’m sure a good amount of readers will see themselves in it as well.

This graphic novel discusses everything from grocery shopping together and forgetting the one item that you went there to get ; binge-watching shows on the couch so frequently, that when they’re over you don’t know what to do with yourselves— to having a refrigerator full of groceries and instead ordering take-out , and waking up to a significant other that is anything but a morning person! These incidents come with spending —what feels like— a lifetime together. Being a couple is not all peachy, you will find quirks that you didn’t even know existed until HIM or HER.

Has your significant other ever fallen asleep, snoring ridiculously loud while you’re trying to watch TV, or have you ever been in bed and the other person stole all of the covers or flicked the light on because they can’t sleep? How about arguing over the thermostat temperature? If so, you will love reading this!

5 incredible stars. I will pick up EVERYTHING that this author has written and will write in the future.

I felt like something new today. I felt like reading a comic. I was thinking about horror, but I chose a cheesy one this time. A lovey-dovey comic about relationships.

Debbie Tung's "Happily Ever After" is a love letter to her husband Jason and a chronicle of their relationship as newlyweds. The comic is truly endearing and explodes with cuteness. Almost every page reminded me of Danna so I called her and we talked for a while.

PS: Danna says I don't snore.

Snapshot of moments of a young affectionate couple's day-to-day married life in comic form. So sweet and adorable. I found myself smiling at many of the pages. Certainly relatable. Not so much a laugh-out-loud type of graphic story but still tender and humorous.

We all married couples can learn a thing or two from Debbie and Jason. Love how he treats her with so much love, care and affection..

Definitely give this book as a wedding or anniversary gift for a young couple.

The drawings are simple but expressive. I'm looking forward to reading about the next phase of their life!

That is so damn relatable!!! Except of course without the guy in it 😋 But it's so damn relatable because I want someone like that too if at all I want someone to invade my private space.
I am so happy I have access to this collection as I had no idea that this one is coming out in July this year!
Thank you #NetGalley so much for the copy of #HappilyEverAfterandEverythingInBetween

As for the artstyle, it's the basic usual Debbie Tung artstyle which I am so used to by now and actually see it as something important in my life by now. I follow her at Instagram and Pinterest for updates. I will always follow her and support her work because I can relate with everything she says or draws. Yes, one rare artist I can relate 100 percent with.

And that's why I believe I won't be fine with anyone other than someone similar in the book to be with in real. Because that's the perfect guy. If my partner feels like it's the husband's thing to buy books for his wife like it's one of the most important things in our married life... Wait. Does such a husband exist? It must. Because this book says so. And yes, everything, I say, everything in this book is everything I ever wanted. This couple is perfect.
*I don't want to say much but her husband understands her as much as others want to judge her for being herself.
*People will say they are weird together but I say they are perfect for each other.
*Please don't misunderstand that we all will relate to her comics and thoughts. To some it may seem like they cannot relate at all and it's all made up. The author is not trying to show that being an introvert and just being herself is not asking you to be like her or anything. Her previous collections has all her thoughts on such issues cleared up. I would highly recommend those too.

*No matter what all that matters in the end is having someone you know who is going to be with you no matter what happens.

I absolutely adored this collection of comics! I thoroughly enjoyed how real Debbie Tung's portrayal was of a happy and well adjusted couple. Nearly every page reminded me of my partner and I, and it made me so happy to be able to share it with him.

Happily Ever After & Everything in Between is an adorable collection of comics following a newlywed couple going through the first months/years of their marriage. The adorable and sometimes quirky artwork is as cute as the situations the couple find themselves in encompassing the normal tasks like buying a home and moving in to things that even unmarried couples would appreciate like trying to figure out what to eat for dinner and picking out a movie.

It's just a feel good collection of stories sure to put a smile on your face.

This book was so sweet. I’m not married or in a relationship, but this book makes me really excited to be. I think it really captures the little moments that are so important and in my opinion, those little things can really make or break a relationship. It doesn’t have all these bug romantic gestures because sometimes love is just eating McDonald’s together at home rather than going out to a fancy restaurant.

Such a cute and heartwarming comic that captures the everyday moments and magic of everyday love. Debbie Tung has done it again!

Sometimes I just need a break from a normal chapter book, especially when I’m in a reading slump, and when that happens I turn to graphic novels. The art in this book is simplistic in black and white with little detail in the background (most of the time) which I like because it focuses the reader to the words and the two people that this is really about. The book provided snapshots of a newly married couple’s life through humor and realistic situations. I am not married, nor ever have been, so in a lot of ways I can’t relate to this book completely. I still greatly enjoyed this read and think anyone in a relationship, whether it’s romantic or family relationships, can appreciate how real the author is about the simplistic joys found from another, the annoying habits we all have, the inevitable fights, and the importance of unconditional love from those in your life.

I finished this book in one sitting, maybe too quick a read, and immediately ordered her other book “Book Love” to help me get through my next reading slump. Thank you Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for my honest opinion. The publish date for this book is June 2, 2020.

Happily Ever After is such a sweet series of comics. Readers will adore spending time with this couple as they live together and negotiate their relationship. Many of the strips offer a glimpse of the universals in relationships and many made me smile. This couple could serve as a model for all of us as we try to live well together while confined. Definitely worth a look.

I always have to screenshot some of them and share them with friends on how I love them. I love this one and I will give it 5 stars. There are so many cute and funny moments. I just can't stop reading her books. Thank you to netgallery for this amazing read. I recommend everyone to read this one and her other books.

First of all, let me say that Happily Ever After is VERY cute. If you're in a long-term relationship, I'm certain there will be at least a few comics in this collection that will make you smile, maybe even go "awwww!" That said, having read two other of Debbie Tung's books, I was really disappointed overall in this book. The other two were so humorous and cute and fun, that I was surprised by how much of this was just sort of "slice of life"-feeling with a little sweetness — no real humor or fun shining through like I expected to find. If this was your first introduction to Tung's work, I totally recommend checking out one of her earlier books, as I think they were much more lovable! I'll definitely pick up her next release and I don't regret reading this one, it just wasn't what I hoped it would be.

A delightful series of comics that captures the humor and fun of early married life. Most couples will identify and while maybe not trailblazing definitely funny and full of heart.

Debbie Tung’s third delightful & insightful book! The best gift books ever: this one is for newlyweds or married couples still saying “I love you!” Her 2nd book, Book Love, is the perfect gift for your friend who loves books but seems to have already read everything... And her first book, Quiet Girl, is the present for the friend you love but can never get to go anywhere there might be other people. All of Debbie’s work says, & shows you why, “Wow, humans are so quirky & loveable...”

Debbie Tung is laugh aloud, tear up a bit, smile to yourself reading: buy, stock, handsell, gift, recommend, reorder any & all Debbie Tung titles & make people happy. It’s really that easy.

Just like her previous works, this book is ADORBS!!!
I love the way she illustrates; not too comic-ly with a dash of whimsy.
Although I prefer her first two books, this book was short and sweet. I also love the fact that each book gave us a glimpse of the author's life.

Touching and relatable without being too mushy. The author has an acute eye for observation and notices the little things that are the glue in a long-term relationship. A lovely book.

I absolutely love Debbie Tung and her work. Author of what accounts to some of the most relatable graphic novels and comics that I have ever read, she now returns with a wonderfully gripping and amusing book featuring the things we experience within our relationships. Using her own marriage as inspiration, Tung delights readers with a plethora of fantastic and hilarious tidbits from her own relationship. I loved every moment of reading this book and couldn't help comparing Tung's artwork to my own relationship.

Tung's style never ceases to blow me away. She continues to impress me with the adorable nature of both her art and her storytelling. In fact, certain stories were so relatable in such a real way that even my boyfriend, who has never cared much for what I read, had a few good giggles when I showed him. Happily Ever After & Everything in Between is very much one of my most appreciated slice of life graphic novels.

I can say this much for this novel and Tung's previous Book Love that I've read before: they're both utterly amazing. I can't wait to see what she comes out with net.

This was a cute quick read that felt very realistic. Even though the illustrations were simple, I was surprisingly touched by some of the messages they conveyed. This would make a great present for a partner or someone in a long-term relationship, and I can’t wait to read the author’s eventual book about parenting.

A slice of married life collection of comics, this collection shows everyday scenes of this couple. My first read of Debbie Tung's work, this was a light, fun, sugary sweet collection. The collection felt like a heartfelt love letter to her husband. I liked the art style, especially the scenes set at night. While the cartoons were relatable they were not very insightful or interesting which made this collection a bit forgettable for me.

Alternating between sweet and funny, this collection of comics shows the positives of a relationship. An uplifting books for troubled times. My only hiccup was the shading of grays sometimes made the writing hard to read; however, that could have been due to the computer I was reading it on and the paper copy will not have that issue.

Debbie Tung is slowly becoming one of my favorite illustrators ever! I always feel so warm and cozy when I read her comics and I'm so grateful that I sometimes snag early copies of her books!

Happily Ever After is the next one in her slice-of-life comic books that depict everyday moments in her marriage. It's cute as fuck and it makes me want to go find the biggest stuffed toy in the world and cuddle with it. It was very reminiscent of Snug, for me, but they're also really different at the same time and idk if it even makes any sense but that's just how it is.

Also, can I just say that her art style is super adorkable?! I love the inky style so so so much! As always, what a pleasure to read her book!

Huge thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy! I LOVE YOU, NETGALLEY!

After drawings introversion in Quiet Girl in a Noisy World and about book lovers in Book Love, in Happily Ever After & Everything in Between, Debbie Tung is illustrating her married life. As in her previous books, I related a lot to the author and her love life with her husband, even if I’m not married. It does echo to some of the drawings present in Quiet Girl since her introversion is present in her relationship.

Overall, as with all Debbie Tung’s books, I really enjoyed the illustrations and the scenes. I will keep reading her comics.

Such a cute read! This is the second book I read for Debbie Tung, the first was Quiet Girl in a Noisy World. I have to say I enjoyed the first one a bit more but this was VERY adorable, especially the ending!

Happily Ever After & Everything In Between would make the perfect anniversary gift for most couples that include a reader or two. I've read both of Debbie Tung's previous two books, and while I enjoyed both of them, this title speaks to me on a more intimate level. Most of the comics reflect similar experiences I've had with my own adorable husband (some of them almost act for act or word for word!), and I found myself smiling so much while reading. I had to share some of the comics with him, and I believe this is another book I want to own for my own library. Tung is one of those authors that we need right now during these tumultuous times, if nothing else than to help us escape our current reality.

Definitely recommended.

I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This charming book is a series of cartoons that tell the story of the authors first six years of marriage. In the beginning, we see a young couple adjusting to the idea of being married, and follow the progression of their relationship as they navigate the milestones of couplehood. I won’t spoil the ending, but I will say it was the perfect way to draw the book to a close. I look forward to future books in this series (hint, hint).

I moved this book up in my TBR pile because I was looking for a laugh out loud book. This book was not that book, but that does not mean I did not enjoy it tremendously. Rather than the belly laughs I was expecting, I experienced more sweet nostalgia for my own newlywed days. There are many, many recognizable scenes throughout the book, and Ms. Tung did an excellent job capturing them with her drawings.

I regularly follow Debbie Tung's work. This is her second book. I liked book; "book love " very much and still re-read it sometimes.
Her best quality is cleanness of her art which is easy on eyes and mind.
She touches soft spots of husband and wife's relationship. It is funny and highly prone to produce soft giggles from reader. It is cute if we try to define work in one word.
It is easy to read and hard to stop once you have started reading it.
Read it and her other works too. She has written three graphic novels.
Thanks netgalley and publisher for review copy.

An adorably humorous graphic novel that my husband and I read together and really connected with!

Debbie Tung captured what its like to be married to your best friend so perfectly. While there wasn't a solid narrative to these comics, there was definitely an overarching progression of time and life experiences.

While we loved these comics, I think this book is for a very niche audience; new adult couples in long-standing relationships. Hoping anyone who picks this up enjoys it just as much!

I was happy to review this after reading Debbie Tung’s other collection, Quiet Girl in a Nosiy World. This one was just as sweet And funny as the last one. This one shares Debbie’s adventures with her husband. The artwork is gorgeous and the dialogue is smooth. Would highly, highly recommend!

Happily Ever After & Everything in Between was a hilarious portrayal of daily married life. I related so much to the characters and had some laugh out loud moments, because let's face it, this is the embodiment of marriage.

This graphic novel was relatable, lovable, and just downright cute. I recommend all married couples to read this, if anything to reminisce your early years together.

It was cute and funny! It was a perfect read and I enjoyed reading the book. The illustrations were good and the comic was also highly relatable!

This graphic novel was so cute! But maybe a little *too* cute? There was no plot at all, which is fine. I don't know much about the artist/creator, but it seemed like a compilation of adorably-drawn web comics as vignettes of a relationship, and not quite a "novel." Still recommend for a heaping dose of cuteness!

This is such a wholesome book about the life of a couple of newly weds. I'm so happy that I came across it; so lovely and pure! If you like Catana Comics, you should read this one! Rating: 5/5 stars.

Short and sweet slice-of-life comic collection that focuses on Debbie Tung's relationship with her husband in their first six years of marriage. As someone in a long-term relationship I found most of these comics relatable but nothing really struck me as extra humorous or insightful or anything - what she's trying to say has been said before, and she didn't add anything that unique to the whole "young couple living together and in love" thing despite this being her own life story.

A sweet and sincere collection of comics based on the author's own experiences of married life with her husband, with a lovely art style and charming moments throughout.

"Him: I found that new book you wanted! I'll get it for you.
Her: Oh, you don't have to do that.
Him: Nonsense! I'll place an order.
Her: You know, you don't have to feel obliged to get me books.
Him: What's the point of having a husband if he doesn't buy you books?
Her: *hugs*"

I can always count on Andrews McMeel to publish best works when it comes to comics and poetry! I have read a couple more books just like this and this one had the cutest illustrations ever! I haven't seen more perfect comics: this had the most beautiful and heartwarming comics depicting the tiny moments in the marriage to the huge moments of it in the most heart-touching way possible! Funny and adorable, this makes it this most perfect reads to engaged and married people! Or you can always read this for fun as I did or with your loved one!

I loved and I enjoyed this! The only reason I am giving this one 4 stars is that I have read similar moments. But this one is worth all the stars it can get!

A very sweet look into the author's newlywed life. I'm more partial to the author's first two books that focused on introversion and book love... but I will read anything Debbie Tung publishes! She's fun and relatable. I've been hoping another book would come out, so I was SO happy to see this was coming out. It was a nice, cozy break during a too-busy day and stressful month.

I follow Debbie Tung on Instagram so I´ve already seen some parts of this book and I wanted to read it all because I liked comics stips like these. I´ve really enjoyed this book. It reminded me of Soppy by Philippa Rice, which I loved too.

It´s super funny, I laughed many times, and sweet. It´s all about those moments that couples share but I think that you can find yourselves in there even when you are not in a relationship. Overall, it´s about everyday moments and you can relate to it very easily. I found myself there many times. Yeah, I am guilty of many things the author mentions.

It´s a perfect book when you want to feel good on a rainy evening. It´s sweet and the ending is the sweetest.

Aaaaaaw I love these comics by Debbie Tung! They remind me so much of me and my fiance, and they are so sweet and wholesome!

Thank you @netgalley for the opportunity to read this quick little book. I laughed, so hard. After nearly ten years of marriage so much of it rang true. It took all of those little situations couples find themselves in and illustrated them. To say it was relatable was an understatement. If you are married and need a laugh, check it out.

Yesterday I was browsing throughout NetGalley for some light readings and found 'Happily Ever After & Everything in Between' by Debbie Tung. As soon as I put my eyes on the cover, something attracted me to it, and I decided to give it a go. This book was the first graphic novel I have ever read, but before giving it a review, I also cast an eye over 'Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story' by the same author, so I can give this book a proper review and to have some background.
The novel is structured around the key points of the author's life (the wedding with her love, the purchase of their new house, and the steps that they are making together) while combining the simple moments in our everyday lives with whom we can relate. Something that I liked about this book is the simplicity of it. It doesn't deal with stressful and exhausting topics which makes it the ideal light read for a pleasant evening. It is funny, and it makes you laugh your ass out while reading, but at the same time, it is romantic, and it shows you the ideal relationship. The one which isn't perfect, but the place where you know there is somebody that cares and to whom you can always go if you have problems. The place where you feel safe and understood.
Just like I pointed out earlier, the book is quite simple, so therefore the style of the illustrations is the same. The art used is not expressive, but I don't mind it. I think it works better with the style of writing. Even if there are not many words used, the drawings are telling a lot more than words ever could.
There is no need to say that I fell in love with it! The ending was pleasing, and I can't wait for a sequel to be released. I am going to add Debbie Tung to my list of favourite authors, and in the next few days, I am going to read the other books she realised.
Overall, it was the book I needed to fulfil a perfect afternoon, and if you are looking for a deep, yet light read, this is the right book for you! I recommend it for further reading.
I would love to thank NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this opportunity.

I love the work of Debbie Tung. She is sooo talented and I felt identified with many of the situations described in this books. Perfect companion to Book Love (her previous book). Although I read it from a digital version, I will get the physical copy as this one is going to be part of my coffee table collection.

Thank you Netgally and the author for the gifted copy. All thoughts are completely my own.

As a person who was married in my early 20s I thought this book was spot on. It's hilarious! I laughed so much. It's extremely relatable.

I think if you are in a longterm relationship this would resonate with you. I highly recommend it. It's a very quick read.

"What's the point of having a husband if he doesn't buy you books?"

A cute yet relatable book about married life and its everyday moments! The title is very apt as romance, as shown in this book, does not end with marriage. In fact, it's the little things that count, and which we find joy and comfort in. It also reminds you to be grateful for your partner and what the two of you share. The simple and clean art suited the book and its content. All in all, a sweet and delightful read.

This book was so cute! I loved it. It reminded me of the cute "Love is" cartoons. While reading this book there were so many pages that reminded me of my husband and I. I couldn't help but relate and share them with him. This book is heart warming and will leave you feeling blissfully happy.

I read this in one night and I've never seen any of the authour's comics before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I found that most of the comics were very relatable. However, this comic is about the couple's life together since they got married and it's different than the other comics I've read with similar topics because they document even the simplest and boring moments. There were tiny bits of humour scattered throughout the book but it just felt like a monotonous read because even the totally mundane aspects of their relationship were made into comics, which I guess was the point. One thing that kept confusing me was the format of the comics. I read this on my kobo which only shows one page at a time so I thought each page was a separate comic but then I would go to the next page and there'd be a continuation. Also the author says that the comic is about an introvert married to an extrovert but you barely see any evidence of his 'extrovertedness'. There are plenty of instances where we see the author and wife as an introvert but her husband also seems like an introvert as well. Overall this was a fun and cute read but it was just a tad bit boring as well.

I ENJOYED EVERY SINGLE PAGE OF THIS BOOK.

This never happens to me! And listen, I am not married, nor in a relationship, nor anywhere close to it but this book makes me want to be. This is just the most wholesome, positive experience of reading about a couple I have ever had and I am pretty sure I 'aww'ed aloud multiple times. Absolute Relationship Goals. I especially enjoyed that there were no traces of any stereotypical gender-role related incidents that make me instantly squirm, nor was there the constant presentation of a relationship that is all roses and chocolates. THERE ARE FART JOKES. And I have never laughed so hard in my life.

This comic collection is an absolute gem for literally anyone. I cannot think of a single person I would not recommend this to and hope that lots and lots of people will get the joy of living with these characters for a little while.

I had the very best time reading this so I cannot give it anything BUT 5 stars. For making me laugh, making me relate and for making me believe that a thing such as true love does exist.

As soon as I saw Debbie Tung had a new collection coming out I had to get my hands on it. I've read her two previous books and loved them and this one was no different. This one deals with married life and how she and her husband interact with each other as well as the outside world. It is super relatable and perfectly illustrates how relationships can be when you've found your person.

Debbie Tung is great at portraying what it's like to live with anxiety and being an introvert - and how it is to have someone in your life who gets you. Her signature art style is great for her slice of life comics. This one is definitely a great addition to her collection of books.

Debbie Tung never disappoints. This graphic novel was cute and relatable. I read it with my husband, and we enjoyed a lot of good laughs over the humor of every day life of newly married couples. Highly recommend for a short, sweet series of vignettes about married life.

This lovely graphic novel totally exceeded my expectations. I needed something that I could mentally dip in and out of, focus on easily during a weird and distracted time of quarantine, and this hit every point on that list! As a married person, it was relatable without being trite, heartfelt without being saccharine. This is definitely an author I’ll keep on my radar!

Happily Every After & Everything in Between is the 2nd book that I've read by Debbie Tung. I had previously read her earlier book Book Love. Like Book Love, Happily Ever After... is a collection of short comics about the author's life. In this book she focuses on her life as a newlywed.

The comics are cute and sweet and since they are short 1 page comics, it is easy to pick this book up as you have small spare moments of time. Or you can read it all the way through in less than an hour. If you're in a relationship, you will see lots of things to relate to in here.

It's just amazing! The beggining and the day-by-day of a couple in a funny way, with a beuatiful ilustrations and situations very common and full of love, partnership and affection. I loved! I felt my heart warmer after read it

File next to Philippa Rice books – at least they're with the same publishers. This is a warm selection of cartoon vignettes – sometimes just one image, sometimes stretching to a third page, that convey young married love – snuggling in bed or under the duvet on the sofa, learning to love someone's snore, and thinking planning the day to be fully productive is ever a good idea. I've seen this kind of book be horrendously awful – smug, not engaging and full of absolutely no realism at all (ooh, hello, Catana Chetwynd – didn't see you there). This is none of those things, although it does of course make liberal use of rose-tinted glasses. It does end with the same reason I think I'm done with Ms Rice, unfortunately – but with her three quite different topics so far (books, and social insecurity and self-exclusion before this) it may be Mrs Tung is my favourite.

I finished it within 1 hour. The graphics and illustrations were great. The moments relatable and quirky. I loved that the author showed new situations instead of showing ones that are already out there. It was 162 pages of pure fun and nostalgia. If you are bored and want something light and cheery then take this one without hesitation.

A very cute look at the beginning of a marriage in comics. While some are more relatable than others, the experiences cover many aspects and I think all couples will find some part that reminds them of their own relationship. This would make a cute gift for new couples as well.

I thought that this was really sweet, and it certainly had some very cute relatable moments I could take on board and see in my own relationship. With that being said, it felt as though this was more of a diary entry series rather than one that could be read with some humor. It was very much focused on just snippets of life, which is very sweet and comforting, but it could have benefited from just a little bit more of a humorous touch! The reviews seem to suggest that this is a fairly common feeling and that the author’s first books pick up on that a little more, so I’ll do my best to get my hands on them.

After falling in love with Tung's Book Love, I was excited to get my hands on Happily Ever After & Everything in Between. This was an adorable graphic novel about the day-to-day lifestyle of a young married couple. With highlights of the good, the bad and everything in between, Tung's beautiful drawings and style show an introvert's perspective of the first years of marriage that had me reminiscing over the beginnings of my relationship. There were sweet, silly and some laugh-out-loud moments captured showcasing the many relatable universals in relationships. It was a quick, enjoyable read that would make for a great wedding or first anniversary gift. Thank you to Netgalley for this adorable read.

Tung's collection of comics on married life capture the experience of the first years of marriage. She skillfully illustrates the small moments that fill a life built together, from the sweet to the funny to the sometimes annoying. This collection with connect with all those couples who are recently married or have been living together, so many of the comics are on point and relatable.

I had previously read and enjoyed 'Book Love' and 'Quiet Girl in a Noisy World' by the same author. I didn't enjoy these relationship centred comics as much but they were still pretty fun. I would recommend the book to anyone who enjoys cutesy romantic comics.

Sweet. Relatable. Simplistic.

This was such a cute collection of comics. The art style and accompanying story was very reminiscent of the artist Cassandra Calin, so if you enjoy her work I would absolutely recommend this book to you. The story was wholesome and funny, and I cracked many smiles while reading.

I read this in a single sitting, and really enjoyed that experience. I really loved the art and the black and white theme, and how much I could relate to some of the panels. I do think that this collection is very simplistic, and doesn't have much else to offer besides an hour or so of cozy reading. This isn't the type of book you'd pick up if you enjoy stories with plot or substance or character development, but if you're in the mood to smile and have a few minutes to spare, this would be a great choice.

In the end, a lovely little collection that wasn't anything ground breaking or that brought anything unique or new to the world of comics, but it was still incredibly enjoyable and funny. In the end, I'd probably give this a rating of 3.5 stars, but I can easily see that being rounded up to a four for people who prefer this type of content more than I tend to.

Thanks again to NetGalley for giving me a review copy of this book!

relationship humor - comics/graphics
This is a cute collection of short comics about newly married life. This book feels familiar, like maybe I have read it before, but I think it just speaks to the experiences of anyone who has been in a close relationship.

This book is super cute, and also super relatable haha. I really love the simplistic art style and for sure need to read the author's previous books. But there wasn't much else to the book, it was all just a page of relatable moments in a couple's life and there wasn't a plot or over-arching plotline to it.

I've enjoyed Debbie Tung's works online for awhile, and I loved reading Book Love when it came out, so I'm genuinely excited to have had the chance to read and review Happily Ever After & Everything In Between.

The art fits within Tung's characteristic style, which is inviting, cue, and easy to follow. Her relationship stories were enjoyable, often funny or heartwarming, and very relatable. While I tend to enjoy her bookish or introvert stories the best, her relationship stories were very inviting and impossible to not enjoy. The ending of the book was so cute and sweet, and it put the biggest smile on my face.

I would definitely recommend this to any fans of Debbie Tung's previous works, or fans of relationship comics.

This graphic novel shows a real look into the first few years of marriage, where everything is awesome. The tone of the book was just that, light and humorous. You can get a sense of the emotional through the drawings, which are in black and white. The simplistic ways give an added sense of airiness, but you find yourself involved with what happens with the two characters as time goes on. It was great to see certain scenarios that I could relate to in my own marriage, how just being around the person you love makes you feel complete. This was a great read!

I’ve recently read Debbie Tung’s Book Love graphic novel and I loved it so much! I finished it within an hour or two, so I knew I had to read her new one. Happily Ever After & Everything In Between is ridiculously relatable and lovable! The illustrations go so well with the words on the pages; everything is portrayed perfectly. I fell in love with it so much I’m going to purchase a hard copy… I just NEED to have it, you know? Anyway, it’s an adorable and heart-warming read. Of course, I’m rating it 5/5!

I’d recommend this read to anyone who needs a light read, for any reason at all. It’s such a great read and doesn’t overwhelm you with emotions, it hits just right.

This one is a cute and adorable read. The art style is simple, yet effective when it comes to convey all the daily, routinely situations of two newly-weds. I'm not married, however, I've been in a relationship with my partner for five years now and I can tell you: all the scenes in this book will be familiar and relatable to anyone with a long-term relationship. Bonus points if one of you is a reader and book lover and the other one a gamer. I just felt it was myself on these pages, me and my partner throughout almost every picture, so I showed my boyfriend a lot of the images, since its like having someone drawing our couple routine.

I've loved Debbie Tung ever since I read Book Love. So when I got the opportunity to review "Happily Ever After & Everything In Between," I jumped on the chance. While I didn't like this one QUITE as much as "Book Love", simply because I didn't relate to the subject matter quite as much, all of the things that make me love Debbie Tung's work fill this book. Her ability to find humor in everyday subjects combined with her emotive drawings make her books a joy to read. Honestly, I think I would read anything Debbie Tung and completely recommend this book!

Wow, how I laughed and how my eyes teared up for this beautiful graphic novel. I would recommend everyone that is in a relationship to devour this, I sure am going to buy my own copy of it. The small and so cute sketches in this one just makes me laugh and run to my partner and make him read it and then say "isn't that EXACTLY like us!?" and just want to kiss him. This is such a cute little handbook in how a relationship can look like. I felt that "wow-this-is-just-like-us"-feeling for like half of the sketches in this and it made me really appreciate the relationship I have.

Because it's so easy, in this society, to try and look for wrongness and to only see how more happy other people are in their relationship (or that how it seems to look) and start to see the wrong things in your own and how you would like to change it. Then to just read this snippets of connection just made me smile from ear to ear and to really just look at my partner and realize that I'm deeply head over heels in love with him.

This is so cute and wholesome. I've read "Book Love" by this artist before, and related to it a lot as an introvert book lover, and once again I relate to her comics about being in a loving relationship and enjoying the simple things in being of each other's company. a lot of the comics reminded me of my husband and our daily lives, and it made smile a lot.

I became obsessed with Debbie Tung's art style after binge reading Book Love and Quiet Girl in a Noisy World, and her latest release did not disappoint. She has such an lovely outlook on life and it really shines through in each of her panels. She's not afraid to showcase the more vulnerable side of her anxieties, but instead balances them with the more lighthearted and sweet aspects of her life. Her work never fails to put a smile on my face and I always connect to some part of it. Where should I start it?
'Happily Ever After & Everything in Between' by Debbie Tung follows the author on the journey of getting used to being married, solving life together with her husband and just the everyday moments of their life together.

First of all, I am super amazed by the cute artwork throughout the whole graphic novel!
Personally for me it was a very sweet, relatable and cute story about how a fresh marriage starts, and about the kind and weirdly funny moments of everyday life between 2 couples being opposite of each other! I could relate most of the book because I am about to get married in 2 months and my fiancé is a 100% introvert while I am more on the extrovert side.

This graphic novel completely exceeded my expectations going in. All the parts were beautifully created: about hardships, disagreements, fun time together, short talks, different povs. I am sure most of us can nod in unision for what our significatn other did for example when we had to decide on what show to watch together, snuggling on the couch, going grocery shopping and arguing about who forgot what, trying to avoid chores and many more..:)
Being a couple is not all peaches and cream, this is the proof for that and trust me, you will find things that you didn’t even know existed. Until you met him or her. And that is the beauty of being different but loving each other so much.

I wish the novel was longer, I could have read more! Loved it!

I love this graphic novel so much. It's so scary because I can relate to almost everything. I've read it in one sitting and iI wouldn't mind if it was twice as thick as it was now because I want more.

Happily Ever After & Everything in Between is a comic novel that relates the author's first years of marriage in a fun and engaging way.

The illustrations are adorable, and take the reader into the lives of Debbie and Jason, a young couple of newlyweds that love each other and have great synergy.

Having married my best friend myself, I could easily relate to several of the situations narrated and enjoyed a few laugh-out-loud moments.

It was a sweet reminder of those years of marriage before the kids. Have we ever been that young? Has life ever been so simple?

The book can be read in less than an hour, and it is an entertaining and light read for young and old couples alike.

How simple and quaint this graphic novel is. The relationship portrayed upon its pages is a wonder to behold. The love shown between the couple. The kindnesses shared. The sweetness factor on overload. The artwork was as the storyline, simple and quaint. Anything more would not have done it justice. I enjoyed this very much.

Hi everyone!

I requested to read this book because Debbie tung is one of my favorite artists on instagram.
Her short comics are funny and sweet and I was so happy to read another one of her books thanks to Netgalley and the publisher!

With her simple style with ink and gray color scheme, in this comic book, she illustrates her newlywed adventures: from moving into a new house, to making couples friends and from watching tv shows and exercising together to always taking care of each other. I'm not even married, however I found it so relatable.

I definitely recommend this book if you already know her or if you wanna read a short comic collection that is light hearted, adorable and funny.

Such a cute comic. Really made me reminisce about the early years in my own marriage -- how my heart fluttered; how we were goo-goo eyed at each other; and how we held hands all the time. Reading Happily Ever After & Everything in Between makes me want to recapture those early years and play them again, and again.

A wonderful comic about love, marriage, and friendships. Four stars -- I really liked it.

This was absolutely lovely. Honestly, I love Debbie Tung's work and this is good, I can relate even when I'm not marry (but I have a 9 years old relationship with my boyfriend and we are ok with the way we are) 'cuse there's things that you can found funny accurate about a long time relationship or about moving with someone (I live with a friend since the beginning of this years and that's a big change from living alone). So, there's that.

Lovely as always,

This was a cute read that rang true to me in my married life. I liked the lightness of the book. Introverts married to extroverts will no doubt be able to identify with the characters. There is a sweetness between the characters as we follow them through their newlywed days. I like that the writer used everyday experiences to illustrate the connection between the main characters. I also liked that the book doesn’t take itself too seriously. It is a great feel good read for a relaxing evening,

A cute comic about a recently married couple and the types of conversations and situations they find themselves in. Each little scene is only a page long so it's very easy to get through. The synopsis highlights the fact that one is an introvert and the other an extrovert. I think I was expecting more of a clash between the two types but the introvert/extrovert thing was referenced just a few times throughout the book. It's mainly a cute documentation of the first few years of a new marriage. I definitely recommend this for anyone that wants a fun, light read that will give you a good laugh.

I may not usually pick up a graphic novel, but hey, 2020 is my year of wild literary exploration. Turns out that very few books have ever put a smile on my face as much as this one.

"Happily Ever After & Everything In Between" is an absolutely adorable narrative of the author's young marriage with her soulmate. Each page presents a new casual situation from their daily life in a quirky and hilarious way. from difficulties picking a movie, going out, cooking dinner to paying mortgage. The characters were so relatable and sweet that I couldn't help sending many of the graphics to my boyfriend which made us laugh and recall many moments from our relationship.

For this reason, low-key wish that the book was ever so slightly less personal to the author. The opening pages reveal that they got married six year ago and that this book documents their adventure so far. That's why I personally wouldn't feel like buying this book for someone I'm in a relationship with, for example, because it feels inappropriate, like someone else's love story, implying that I wish we were them. This might be a controversial opinion, and others might think this aspect the best thing about this book, but this is my suggestion.

I seriously wish this novel was longer.

Happily Ever After & Everything in Between is a delightful compilation of comics that honestly illustrate how long-term relationships work. From newlyweds, to buying a first home, Debbie Tung managed to put dreams, hopes and more with just a few panels per comic at her disposal. I found myself relating to both of the characters, and showing some of the comics to my girlfriend.
I deeply recommend this book if you’re looking for some light reading that can make your heart feel warm, specially in these uncertain times. Definitely recommend for the romantics out there who are simply done with unreal expectations set by the traditional media.
This book will be published by Andrews McMeel Publishing on June 2th, 2020.

Very cute and relatable with the way it portrays relationships. This is a great read for newlyweds or even new couples. This was a humorous and happy read and several of the comics got a laugh out of me.

What's not to love about this book and this author?? Everything feels very genuine and realistic. Not everyday is the best but having a true friend there for you through it all makes it easier. Not every relationship has to be hard and you don't have to settle for a good enough spouse. I enjoy everything from this author and would recommend it to everyone.

Comical view of life as newlyweds from the perspective of an introverted wife. I could relate to many of the scenes and got a few good laughs. This book is a quick and easy read, sure to put a smile on your face.

Happily Ever After & Everything In Between is a quirky little collection of comics revolving around the everyday life of a newly-wed couple, based on the author's own experiences of marriage. It takes the little moments, from staying in together, deciding who does the chores, and loving the other's little quirks, and puts them all together for some simply wholesome content.

I really enjoyed the art style for this book: the gray, watercolour tones combined with scenes containing quite a lot of detail were refreshing to look at. I almost wish there were more pages like it, as most frames contained simple white backgrounds (though considering this is a collection of comics, the simplicity makes sense).

The overall message I got from this book was around the idea that marriage may not be how one expects it to be, but that's what makes it an enjoyable experience. It doesn't always have to be "romantic," but it can still be fun and exciting and a place of comfort. This is a very sweet and cute message to portray, though it's not a very new idea; many web comics exhibit the concept of "expectations versus reality," and there wasn't much out-of-the-ordinary with this one.

Overall, this was a fun, cute read! I can imagine newly-wed couples (or any married people, for that matter) finding much to appreciate and relate to in this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book for me to read!

This was such a cute story! The illustrations were lovely and hilarious, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this graphic novel by Debbie Tung. A humorous graphic about marriage life, drawn from the author's own life with her husband, it was funny and sweet to read through. Graphic novels are a genre that I am still new to, but I thought this piece was gripping, fun, and an easy read for anyone, even someone who isn't married. I highly recommend!

I can't with Debbie Tung! She is seriously my fav author.
Everything she writes, I will buy. This is my third books I have read from her and did not disappoint.
Her other two books are soooo relatable to me, and surprisingly this one as well! Her relationship with her husband is just so sweet, funny, and a lot of it are soooo similar with my relationship life. I am thinking to get this book as an anniversary gift for him.
I smile so so wide while reading this book. It truly makes my heart warmth!

Debbie Tung does it again. If you enjoyed Book Love or Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story, this is another smash hit that combines charm, humor and heart. The unique style is perfectly layered here to warm even the coldest heart. Five stars. Even the cynical soul will be comforted with this beautiful book.

Happily Ever After & Everything In Between is a sweet, slice of life graphic novel. It had me smiling the entire time I was reading it. I didn't love it quite as much as Quiet Girl in a Noisy World and Book Love. However, it was just as heartwarming and relatable as those two books. Some of my favorite/most relatable moments were disagreeing over the thermostat, wanting ice cream on snowy days, using each other as an excuse to be antisocial, and all of the other little things in a relationship that let you know that your partner knows and understands you better than anyone else. I do think that couples that are married or in a long term relationship will appreciate this more than people who are single.

This book was cozy and warm! I loved the illustrations and the story arc. I'm almost 100% sure this is a true story and autobiographical of the author's life, which makes it so much more impactful! The juxtaposition of the "outdoor" relationship vs. the "indoor" relationship felt so realistic! I really hope I can find a partner like this, to be silly with. This book was cute and cuddly and emotional, loved it!

Thought this might be a cute read, and it definitely was. I definitely saw me and my husband in this comic, so it's nice to see some couple things are definitely universal. It's not exactly what I thought it would be, but it was an easy read, so I am not complaining. Was very enjoyable. I couldn't exactly tell at times who was the extrovert and introvert, since even me and my husband are both and I can't tell sometimes who is more or less. But I think that was the point and it's how the couple complimented each other. Recommend. Thanks to Netgalley for the advance copy.

Debbie Tuang’s new book Happily Ever After is a very cute collection of comics about married life, it is charming and entertaining. Some say that marriage is the greasiest achievement, Tung is that happy newlywed and demonstrates the daily life of being a young couple in her new book. You do not have to be a newlywed to relate with everything she says or draws. There are many comics in this collection that will make you smile, several that will you want to share and others that you will even say awh!

I absolutely loved Book Love, this is not as great, but definitely worth the read! 4.5 stars

Debbie Tung's comics always make me a ball of mush. It's partly why I keep coming back to them - to let them melt me into this emoticon with starry eyes and moist eyes both at once.

Also, totally not an overreaction:
Debbie: I can finally connect with nature.
H: The Wi-Fi is down
Debbie: Noooooooo, how will we survive????

Debbie Tung is definitely on top of my lists of favourite cartoonists as she writes and illustrates stories that are heartwarming, relatable and absolutely adorable. I feel like I could read her works for hours and hours on end. I had the pleasure to read her previous works recently and I love each and every one of them. From the small details to the bigger ones, every single thing.

This book made me believe in love, the happiness and joy of finding the one and making the most of the memories you would have together. That small actions the other makes will still make butterflies flutter in your stomach even after all the years, the simple moments of everyday life and that perhaps life isn't so bad after all when you've got each other's backs.

Every time I finish this author's works, I'd yearn for more and then I'd want even more after that. I don't think I will ever cease to get bored with her comic strips, relatable content of being obsessed with books and staying in, the love she has for her husband (lowkey jealous because I want what she has. Hopefully someday!) gorgeous and detailed illustrations. I look forward to what she has to offer next and in the meantime, I'll just repeatedly read her books over and over again!

I really enjoyed Book Love and Quiet Girl in A Noisy World and felt the same for this new book by Debbie Tung. It was such a cute and romantic story about their marriage life. Some of them are relatable to me. Her artwork is nice. I can’t wait to put my hands on the physical copy.

I’m not married yet but some things are very relatable to my boyfriend and I. I can’t help but share some of the comic strips with him!

High praise for the adorable cartoons and illustrations. I truly enjoyed this comic. It helped me unwind from a busy day at work.

Also a big thank you to the author for sharing her life with us through these wonderful comics. Can’t wait to see more works from her!

This is the kind of book that you give your favourite couple, a newly married couple. Very cute and relatable.

I've seen/read a lot of short comics from Debbie Tung online and have always found them cute and quite relatable, and yet I never knew she had books published.
This one hit specifically close to home, as her relationship with her husband is illustrated so honestly and it warmed my heart, and it made me think of my partner and I's relationship. Thus I ended up with a smile plastered on my face while reading. I hope most if not all readers can relate while going through the pages - Debbie Tung depicts quite a happy and normal life with one's partner.
The comic was a fast and light read and just made my day a bit brighter. Half the reason why, is the drawing style that is simplistic enough, so it doesn't overwhelm or distract from the story, but it's also cute and just overall, nice to look at.

I totally checked this one out only because of the author, since I really enjoyed Debbie's previous comics. In the similar manner to Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story, this one offers insight into Debbie's personal life, while at the same time being cute, funny, and probably relatable to anyone married or in a long term relationship. I enjoyed this comic a lot. It's drawn in a signature Debbie's artwork, simplistic, but effective. I really can't wait to see what she's coming up with next and I'd highly recommend this one to everyone looking for something cute to cheer them up.

Tung has the talent to write and draw feel-good books and this was no exception. Whilst "Quiet Girl in a Noisy World" focused on the author's mental health, this aimed to show snippets of the author's married life.

Overall, it a beautifully drawn feel-good book that left a smile on my face!

Debbie Tung’s latest graphic novel, Happily Ever After & Everything In Between, continues her simple yet delightfully engaging musings on everyday life. Tung’s latest work shows her lovable protagonist’s evolution of self and partnership. Renderings lovingly highlight a myriad of relational dynamics from pre-marriage to the honeymoon period, to settling in and growing together from individuals to a couple and as a family. Lighthearted and completely relatable with laugh out loud reflections are sure to charm a diverse crowd!

I love graphic novels/comics about relationships and couples especially. I've read ones with family members too but the ones about couples just seem to always really hit the mark and make my heart swoon.

Debbie Tung hit the nail on the head with so many of these panels, and she had a lot that I could personally relate to that I haven't yet seen done already which is a treat.

I'd love to read and see more from her - the little relationship she created in between her pages made me happy and was a nice pick me up. Loved it.

A cute, relatable and heartwarming book that reminds readers of the tender moments that make long relationships so special. The art style is simple, but well-done. The length is also ideal, with enough variety between the different anecdotes so that you don't get tired of how sweet the book is.

The art is so cute that you'll find yourself flipping through until you realize the book has ended. This book includes various scenes that are familiar to married couples and presents them in a fun way.

The only reason I'm not rating it higher is because I had already seen many of the illustrations -- or ones like them -- before. It could also be that I've gone through them, which is why they were so familiar lol That said, this is a cute, short read!

I loved Book Girl and Quiet Girl in a Noisy World by Debbie Tung so I had expectations for her new book Happily Ever After & Everything In Between. I was not disappointed. Debbie's books are cozy and cute. Though the characters are much younger than me, I find different scenes that I relate to exactly. Other times I like them because I see my college age and 20 something kids and their significant others. This book has a sweet but realist picture of a young couple just married. I don't know if I'd call this a graphic novel though it does tell a story -- it's a curl up on the couch and read in one sitting kind of book. I already can think of several people this will make a great gift for. I'm hoping Debbie is working on the next installment -- life after baby. I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book on Net Galley, all opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this! I really loved the art style in this graphic novel. i also found it extremely relatable, which i really loved. It was so honest and so real.

I was a little confused at how the graphic novel was laid out, but I think this more has to do with the fact that I was reading it digitally and not physically. i wasn't sure how the novel was laid out, but then I started to catch on that it was little vignettes, but some were longer and some were shorter.

Overall, I really enjoyed it! I found myself laughing out loud and "awww"ing at certain pages. I think anyone who has been in a relationship would really enjoy this! With that ending, I'm REALLY hoping we get a sequel!

3.5 out of 5 wine glasses. Super cute, super sweet, and very relatable. I enjoyed the art style and the pacing, plus even though I've been married for over a decade, I could still relate to the young couple (which made me feel young at heart)!

I think I've seen panels from this illustrator as relatable memes in the past, so I'm glad to finally be reading a full collection.

I've been showing scenes to my boyfriend and as he saw me nearing the end, he had this to say;
Boyfriend: "how's the comic book that tragically describes our love life" ...
Woah. Tragic is a bit dramatic, but this comic is eerily accurate!

I yawned in sympathy at the ruined yawn sketch. This, among other scenes got a chuckle!

Overall, this was cute, relatable, but ultimately, it will be a bit forgettable standing up to some of the other comics/graphic novels and general books I read, due to its simplicity (which works but isn't super captivating).

Another wonderful collection of comics from Debbie Tung, this time focused more so around her and Jason's relationship, marriage, and all the cute little in-between moments.

That was such a wholesome read. It was definitely a good in-between book to break up my murder mystery kick. I thought the art style would be different based on the cover for some reason but I still enjoyed it! A little simple but some pages were stunning. The one with the 'plant jungle' was my favourite. I'd happily read about the next part of their lives! I have a feeling a pregnancy book would be equally hilarious and lovely.

This was another adorable book by the author of book love! Debbie Tung has a way of looking at things simply and honestly. In this case it's relationships. This book has a young married couple, not exactly newlyweds, but not quite an old married couple either. When an exciting Friday night is both of you passing out in front of the TV....and your both fine with it. Knowing each others quirks and loving each other anyway. And being comfortable wearing big comfy sweats and the other Is fine with it. This is the joy and magic of being in a comfortable relationship. Sure were laugh throughout this book, and that's ok. This was such an adorable book.

This charming comics collection depicts a young married couple's everyday life, from the highs, to the situational lows, to the silly and absurd. It made me giggle a lot, and has just the kind of slice-of-life humor that I love. There's nothing especially dramatic or unique about it, but its primary appeal is in how relatable it is, and the artist mines humor out of a whole variety of different life situations. Readers shouldn't expect anything emotionally complex, since this is a highlights reel of marriage and not a depiction of its complications, but this is a charming, heartwarming glimpse into a happy marriage and the joys that couples share when they know and love each other deeply in the ordinary moments of their lives. I found it funny, adorable, and encouraging, and would recommend it to both married and unmarried readers for its charm and entertainment value.

Review to come Mid-May on blog/goodreads.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

Debbie Tung is back with a new comic collection, whereas her last one was about books and loving them this one is about her husband and her and their life together. I really loved reading it as there was just so much relatable stuff, just like the book book.

This was a very adorable read and I had fun seeing her get used to married life, seeing them buy a new house, see them have fun, see her try not to buy all the books and sketchbooks, see him get scared at a bug and she just throwing it outside (I am definitely the husband here, I hate bugs), I had a big laugh at his beard and how when she likes it he thinks it is itchy (which reminds me of me and my husband, I love his beard.. he finds it too itchy), comparisons between how they each react to something, parties and meeting new friends, and of course there is much much more and I had just the best time reading this one. It was just what I needed, something cute and warm that makes me giggle and go OMG, I recognise this.

I had a laugh at the guy who talked about our couple who were newlyweds and how they were in the honeymoon phase and how things would change as they would see each other at their worst/bad habits. Um, I would think that before you get married you know those things? Unless you marry within a short time... At least that is how it was for me and my hubby. We got married when we were 10 years together (still can't believe that was last year, eep) and we have been living together since we were together 1.5 years. Believe me we have had our ups and downs, but that only got us out stronger and more in love than ever.

I loved that next to the comics we also got some page only illustrations. Debbie Tung has such a cute and nice style and I was happy to see her illustrations.

All in all, please Debbie Tung make more! I would love more comics. And I would highly recommend this one to everyone.

This is the second book I read from Debbie Tung - I missed the chance on reading Book Love but will look forward to it soon. This latest book full of comic strips and illustrations of hers are quite cute and entertaining just like the first one. But now, it is a depiction of her married life and what surrounds it. Still, this book brings so much fun and you can easily go through it. Showing herself and her husbands routines in this book are some kind of relatable to some just not for me as of now.
If you want some easy and light but you'll enjoy then grab this book. I know you'll love it and maybe find similarities with your partner.

I love every single book by Debbie Tung: 'Quiet Girl in a Noisy World', 'Book Love', and now, 'Happily Ever After & Everything in Between'. In every page of every book I feel my heart melt, I feel recognition, I feel love. Wich started with her first book is developed now - her relationship, her thoughts, her career, her passion for books, her life. It is wonderful to see the evolution, the time passing by, the growth. And most of all, the essence is still there. The beauty that we found in the first book we still see here in this one - the characters and the situations still being relatable with real life. Anyway, a highly recommended book.

A very sweet illustrated ode to marital bliss! You can't help but feel happy for the author and her husband as they dote on each other within their bubble. Read this one for some "Awwww!" moments and a few laugh-out-loud ones, too!

I loved Debbie Tung's previous book and this one is just as good if not even better! I love this simplistic, calm style and the relatable scenes. It's something that makes you feel good after a long work day.

I am not usually a reader of graphic novels but this one will most definitely change my reading habits. As I was reading this book, I immediately knew that I would be purchasing this book for some newlyweds that have weddings coming up this year. They may not appreciate it right now at the beginning phase of their marriage, but this book is so relatable and I think with a marriage's ups and downs it's so important that we keep things in perspective. In today's society with the pressures of social media, it is very easy for us to look at everyone's posts and think all our friends have such perfect lives, and we can second guess our relationships. This book is a down to earth showcase that life is more than your facebook memories. It's full of trials and tribulations, that although we don't think so in the moment, we will soon be able to laugh at the journey called marriage. I am now intrigued and will be looking at past work from this author. Thank you NetGalley for providing me with this advanced reader copy.

Another book I have loved from Debbie Tung! I found myself laughing out loud at some of the scenarios portrayed in the very elastic and stylised comic strips. Debbie has really trapped into what its like as a newly wed, long term and moving in together couple perfectly! It's so hard to articulate how much I loved this book as it feels like I'm reading a comic book of my own life!

it was cute and funny to read! the illustrations are actually what i likes more about this but i’m definitely going to check out more about the authors. also, there were a lot of ‘yeah same’ moments!

Happily Ever After & Everything In Between surprised me, by giving a sweet and realistic illustration of marriage in the every day. Debbie Tung’s illustrations are just as comforting and perfectly simplistic as her relationship with her husband.

This was adorable and so relatable! I found myself showing my husband so many of the comics in this book because they reminded me of us!

A collection of single page comic strips depicting a young couple's first year (or two) of marriage. It's drawn in the same style as Tung's other collections, and similarly makes use of punchlines that aim to create a smile rather than a chuckle on the part of the reader.

It's not deep, but it is cute. Definitely the kind of book that would make a nice wedding or anniversary gift.

Some of the page layouts seemed slightly off-centre, but I read this as an eARC from NetGalley and that seems like something that will be corrected in the final version.

This is a new collection and although I follow the author on Instagram, have no recollection of the panels in this book. The book consists of instances from the different stages of the author's relationship with her husband. The conversations are cute, realistic and fun to peruse. There actually seemed to be much fewer panels in this one than in her previous collections because I read from cover to cover pretty quickly!

The drawings continue to be a joy to look at because of the uniqueness of the presentation. There is not much more I could say about a book like this except that it might make a unique gift to someone celebrating an anniversary (and has liked the author's work before)

I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience and my previous acquaintance with the comic series.

This deserves all the stars!

This comic was just så cute, so fun, so wholesome and relatable! i was laughing and having this stupid grin on my face all the way til the end. I`m seriously sad it went so fast, but i loved it so much! Tried to slow down so i it would last longer, but tbh that did not work.

My Thoughts
I really enjoyed Tung’s book Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert’s Story, so I quickly requested her latest book on NetGalley as soon as I saw it. The synopsis really tells you everything you need to know about this book, but I still have a few thoughts to share. Here are my pros and cons:

Pros

1. I love Tung’s graphic novels. They are super easy to read, extremely relatable, and the graphics are adorable.
2. As an introvert, I feel like I am reading about myself when I read one of Tung’s books. It is crazy weird to think there is someone else out there literally experiencing life in so many similar ways as I am! It is comforting, actually, to know I’m not alone.
3. I honestly related to every single page in this book! Some of the panels really hit home though and were almost verbatim reenactments of conversations I’ve had with my husband!! I’m not joking! Debbie Tung… are you spying on me? 🙂
4. Even if you aren’t an introvert, there is much to love in this graphic novel… particularly if you are married. You will recognize many situations from your own married life including struggling to choose a movie to watch, deciding what to have for dinner, compromising over the thermostat setting, and just being boring together.
5. There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of this book that I believe (and hope!) is alluding to another book coming soon!

Cons
None.

Summary
If you are an introvert, married to an introvert, or just married period, this book is absolutely worth reading. I think all of Tung’s graphic novels are excellent!

This book gives a cosy and familiar feeling. It starts pretty slow (I was at the 3 stars point in the beggining), heating up and, by the end of it, we're smiling and relating to all of it. It's a heartwarming story and the illustrations are too cute! I found myself laughing out loud at some points and in less than nothing it was over and I wanted more.
Surelly will read more from the author and recommend this one to everyone.

This book was so great! It was the perfect representation of what a relationship and then marriage is. It was so realistic but also funny to read. The pictures really added to the book as well. I highly suggest this book! It is a great light read!

I am a fan of Ddbbie’s from before seeing this book to read. She had an introvert graphic novel that I really liked. This book was also enjoyable. It was very sweet and it was nice to feel idk let in on a personal gift to her husband. Bits and pieces were a bit slow and redundant and predictable, but so are marriages. It was very thoughtful and great fun to read with my hubs in quarantine.

Adorable collection of comics showing little moments of love, affection, and just spending time together daily. I definitely saw myself in it and thoroughly enjoyed every page of it! Her drawing style is also very beautiful and the book in general could be a great one to keep coming back to or even gift to a loved one or a friend.
One key point for me is that she highlights the joys of staying home with a loved one, a cup of tea and maybe a book, so couldn’t relate more!

I love Debbie Tung's work. Her graphic novels are so relatable and the art is simple but so adorable. In this one she talks about being the introvert in a marriage.

I read her other books she has out and love them both as well.

Reading this warmed my heart and brought me so much joy and laughter at a time that this was much needed! "Happily Ever After" is incredibly charming and funny, giving the reader a unique inside look at the life of an introvert and an extrovert in their first years of marriage. With sweet and awkward everyday moments, I appreciate that the scenes in this book are mostly lighthearted and wholesome.

I typically have a hard time getting into graphic novels or comics, however I absolutely love and can really relate to the imagery and messages conveyed in all of this author's books, including this one (although I am not yet married). Over the last year and a half or so, I have become such a huge fan of all of Debbie Tung's written and artistic works, all of which are inspired by her own life as a book loving introvert.

Adorable. I love Debbie Tung's comics and this one does not disappoint. She is so unbelievably relatable that she could literally be me. I love her and I hope she continues to draw!!

This is an autobiographical slice-of-life comics about marriage by the author of Quiet Girl in a Noisy World and Book Love.

The comics cover things like being young newlyweds, buying/renovating a house, coming up with a household budget (with an “unlimited” book line), assembling furniture, working, trying to get back into wedding-levels of in-shape, and generally being a couple. It doesn’t really cover a lot of new ground, and some of the lines are going to seem very similar to other slice-of-life comics about being in happy relationships. Nevertheless, many comics will probably prompt the reader to nudge their partner and exclaim, “It us!”

Aside from slithering out of doing chores and dumping all of his things on the bed when he comes home from work, Jason (the husband) seems a little too good to be true. Almost no conflict is depicted in the book, other than when Jason gets McDonalds without Debbie (the protagonist) and she sulks. Obviously, a slice-of-life comic that harps on the bad times won’t be a feel-good read, but it strikes me as odd that after six years of marriage they’ve only disagreed about solo fast food runs.

The comics are sweet without being saccharine and the style is simple without losing expressions, however the images have an odd background fuzz in the epub version, as if they were scanned from paper, or lost a lot of resolution being saved as the wrong type of image file. It doesn’t really detract from a reader’s enjoyment, but it’s there.

I first read something by Debbie Tung when I read her Book Love graphic novel and instantly fell in love with it. If you are a book-lover, then you absolutely need to read it. It's so accurate for all of us book-obsessed people out there and rounded off with great humor. This one is just as funny, cute and sweet as the other. Now being extremely single at the moment and having never had a relationship where I've lived with a guy, and clearly never been married as the novel starts out with here, I couldn't relate to this one as much as the other, but it didn't stop be thoroughly enjoying it. I saw aspects of all the couples that surround me like my parents, brother and his wife, my cousin and cousin-in-law, as well as many others. I loved seeing the reality of a relationship and how if you're with the right person, you can really be your true self. There were of course plenty of fun book references and I loved the part where Jason said something along the lines of "What sort of husband would I be if I didn't buy you books?" and it just made me smile. Actually, the whole thing did and it was a nice bit of relief from the seriousness of the world.

This book was so cute and relatable especially for a newly engaged and married couple. I connected with this book on some many levels and it reminded me a lot of my relationship with my fiancé. I enjoyed the illustrations and read it all in one sitting. I can't wait to read more books by Debbie Tung especially Book Love!

How did I not know about Debbie Tung until now?! This book made me so happy. It's one I can see myself going back to over and over again. The comics are so true. I feel like I was seeing myself in every page. The book is particularly timely since she works from home and her husband works outside the home(many people's situations across the world in quarantine with spouses who are essential workers). If you want to smile and commiserate and laugh along, this is the book for you. I cannot wait to pick up her other work.

Such a cute collection of moments from the first few years of marriage! Reading this is like going to my happy place.

This is the cutest and most relatable thing I have read in a very long time, and every single one of the pages seemed like a situation taken out of my own life. I laughed so much out loud reading this that my partner came over my side of the living room to check if I was okay (and if I needed snacks). I'm 100% recommending this collection of comics to all of my friends, and buying one physical copy for myself when it comes out !

I wonder how Tung is able to record such cute couple moments.

It seems impossible after living with on and off relationships, guys who don't call back, people who are emotionally unavailable... that finding that one person to live in harmony with exists. But it does. And the book depicts just that. How a healthy relationship provides comfort, trust, understanding, and peace. The animation is well done. She maintains the black and white overtones used in all of her books.

Looking forward to the baby volume.

Once again, Debbie Tung delivers a brilliant work! This time, she tells stories about married life and all things related to marriage. Not to mention the adorable artwork, Debbie's humor is my favourite and I'll always be looking out for her next work. It's always entertaining, well done, fun and completely relatable.

Happily Ever After & Everything in Between by Debbie Tung was such an relatable read that I stopped several times to show the page to my wife who stated, "yep, that's just like us!"

This book is a must-read for any young couple a few years into their marriage. The comic nature of the story allows readers to pick up and enjoy a single page or spend some time diving into the book to enjoy it for its unique story line and progression through the life of the couple. The comics center around an introverted wife married to an extroverted husband seemingly based on actual situations in the writer's life. This gives the collection of comics a sense of authenticity to which many readers will relate.

The stories are light-hearted and positive without feeling too idealistic. There are times when the raw experience of being newlyweds comes out to play through honest conflict and drama, but those experiences are not too heavy to make the reader want to put the book aside.

The comic frames are well-crafted to highlight expressions and to showcase specific actions taking place. Again, they were relatable down to the faces made given the scenario. I think I laughed more while reading this book than I have for most of my reads this year.

I really enjoyed reading this book and will look forward to reading more from Debbie Tung in the future. Can we have a part two that picks up where this one leaves off?

*Thank you to NetGalley for providing an ARC of this test. I truly enjoyed this one!*

This was a really cute and quick read. A lot of the little stories were so relatable , and even the ones that weren't were still funny. However sometimes it got really cheesy, which I understand is part of relationships, but it just didn't really work for me. The end was nice especially after going through the author's Instagram and seeing their happy ending!

I have waited for another Debbie Tung's new book since I finished the previous ones. Besides, both of Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story and Book Love are my all-time-favorite graphic novels. I believe Happily Ever After & Everything In Between will bring lots of joy and happiness when I read it. To be honest, that's exactly how I feel as getting to know more stories about Debbie and his husband's sweet married life. Their relationship is so adorable. I can't even stop smiling as indulging in their interesting daily life with full of love and pleasure.

From Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story to this book, not only to get to know Debbie, who is an introvert with a great passion of books (So am I!), but also realize how love makes her life be more wonderful like a sparkle. Although they start to find out each other's bad habits, they still embrace them and cherish their relationship. That's how this book is so soothing that gives me the warm feeling and positive power.

I loved this book, the comics are very cute and I even managed to find some that reminded me of my relationship with my boyfriend.
I highly recommend it especially if you are in a relationship!

This had so many cute moments, and I love Tung's realistic portrayals of the everyday life of an introvert. As is usual in Tung's work, this had many relatable moments for introverts and book lovers.
In general, however, I just didn't find it quite as cute or humorous as I did Quiet Girl in a Noisy World. It had a lot of cliches and pages that, to me, felt redundant. Definitely the cutest ending though, and it's a quick, heartwarming read, so I'd definitely recommend it for fans of Tung's work.

This was just adorable. A relatable graphic novel about life in a relationship. I think there’s something in here that everyone can connect with. The illustrations were cute and stories funny at times!

Happily Ever After and Everything in Between follows the everyday life of a newlywed couple. Just like the title implies, it’s everything in between and behind the scenes of couple in love. We see the simple moments like picking out what movie to watch, choosing where to eat, buying their first house together, meeting other “couple friends” and many more moments most couples go through in their early stages of a relationship.

Debbie Tung is a new author to me, but I would be interested in checking out more stuff by her after reading this cute graphic novel. I found this to be very charming, cute, and relatable. The story is very simple, and the artwork was very simple and nicely done.

I love that the author shared some moments of her first year of marriage with her readers. It took me back to my first year of marriage, and I found most of the scenes to be accurate and relatable. Most people who would read this would be able to find a spot somewhere in the comic and think, “this sounds just like us when we went through that.”

I wish it were a little longer, and I also wish there was a little more substance or meat to the story. There wasn’t much to the story and I didn’t feel like there was an overall plot to the story. But I still understand and appreciate the stories that depict the “average day” of a young couple.

A collection of Debbie Tung's web comic about the early years of her marriage. It's absolutely adorable and cute. Anyone who has been in a long term relationship can relate.

I LOVED this. What a sweet, realistic portrayal of a relationship starting out. The vast majority of these pages had me laughing out loud because I have experienced the exact same thing. With quirky, imaginative drawings and heartfelt, simple dialogue that speaks truth, this book is something I will revisit again and again.

Oh, so sweet and fun! If you're in a long-term relationship, you will most likely find several of these cute comics relatable and expect a few giggles and smiles from them. Overall the collection expresses subtle everyday moments in a relationship when the couple is very comfortable with one another. It's more sweet than humourous.

Happily Ever After & Everything In Between is a love story that will make you smile. It is a collection of comics that portray the life of a young, married couple. The wife is more introverted and the husband is more extroverted which makes for many entertaining moments. The author drew all of the illustrations herself which is my favorite part of this book. The drawings overall are very cute and I enjoyed the drawing style. Debbie Tung’s writing is good; I believe she did a great job of creating many honest moments through the characters’ antics. The pacing is quick and easy to get into. The plot is very simple but can be easily seen as relatable. I do wish there was more humor in this book, as I did not find myself completely laughing, I only chuckled here and there. I feel like there could have been more to this story, and although the ending is very sweet, I did not feel the need to finish it in one sitting. It may be because I do not read comic books very often but I felt it lacked something. However, I suggest this book to any young and settled couple. This book teaches you that although you and your spouse may be opposite people, with hard work opposites always prevail.

A sweet graphic novel about life after marriage, I adored the perspective of doing simple everyday things with your significant other, but it’s just special to you two. This was sweet, funny, and a charming read!

I have seen some of the authors artwork all over social media and I was really looking forward to reading one of her books. So when the opportunity to read and review the ARC of her latest work I immediately requested it.

In this comic book we follow the author and her husband on their day to day lives as a newlywed couple and the little acts of love they do for each other every day. As it was expected, this did not bring any new ideas to the table, some of the things she did I had already seen them done, HOWEVER, the way she did them gave this book a personal touch that you just connect with.

Even though I am not married and don’t plan to be in the near future, I have been in a loving relationship for more than 4 years. This allowed me to connect to must of what the author portrayed in the comic book. For most of the book I was like “me and my boyfriend totally do this” and it was so fun to send him some of my favorite ones in which I felt we were most represented.

I would really encourage you to pick this book up, it is fun and sweet and in the end I am sure everyone will identify with some aspect of the book, if not, at least read it because of the illustrations (especially the full page ones).

Overall, this book represent everything I want when I get married. It was a short fun read that brighten up my day and I will definitely pick up a physical copy when this book comes out.

Thank you to the publisher, the author and NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is really, really cute, it gave me cavities, I loved it. Even as a perpetually single person with no particular desire to marry, or even do the entire relationship-thing, all the loving vibes made me smile and sigh a bit, sort of like the way you do at a cute puppy or a romcom. Just good vibes all around.

I have so much love for Debbie Tung's comics and grahic novels. She is a book lover and reader, an introvert, and in this book in love... She is relatable on ALL the levels and I was thrilled to get to read this book.

The comics throughout this collection are so funny, so real, and SO cute. She shares her introvert/marriage wins, many that I too have experience with. For example, doing your own things but together, getting a cup of tea because you looked like you needed it, leaving a gathering early, deciding to stay in with a pizza and a movie. The whole collection is drawn by the author herself inspired by her real life experiences and it shows. It made me laugh and smile and frown a bit and happy cry a bit. It was the range of emotion I love especially from a graphic novel where things are so simple yet so complex.

I think that if you are married or in a long term relationship this book will really resonate with you, it might not hit all those points if you are single. Although it will still be a cute and romantic read. I will be reading this book again and again.

Haven't read the previous Debbie Tung's books but this was nice.
Happily Ever After & Everything In Between pretty much shows the perfect relationship - they understand each other, they are head over heels in love with each other and they support each other. The reality isn't as shiny of course and Tung does show some glimpses of the "bad times", but the book is filled with nice and heartwarming comics.

Totally relatable comics....addressing a developing relationship.... It's a fun, quick read that might have you nodding & remembering those same feelings....& all with a satisfied, happy smile on your face! You can see Debbie's introverted side & appreciation for books in her drawings. Introverts & bibliophiles will definitely enjoy this......but I'm betting everyone will find appreciation for her work! I'm definitely going to search out more of her writing/drawing!

Debbie Tung is one of those artists that makes meaningful, relatable and funny comics. I've loved her earlier work so I was very excited to start this book! And I wasn't dissapointed!

The comics are about married life and are pretty much based on the authors own life. Even though I'm single, I still laughed out loud at some of the comics and found many things relatable.

If you like lighthearted comics that warm your heart as well as make you laugh, read this one!

I received an ARC from NetGalley from Andrews McMeel Publishing. This is another wonderful collection of comics from lovely introvert Debbie Tung. This collection illustrates her married life to someone who is a bit more extroverted than her, but compliments her in sweet, fun and tender ways. If you are looking for cute and uplifting little bits from a couple’s first months of marriage, I recommend this collection as a sweet romp. Debbie interweaves her love of books and her strong introvert ways. This is relatable for me and I enjoy her simple grey-scale illustrations.

Happily Ever After & Everything In Between is an amazing comic collection from the mind of Debbie Tung. It's all about married life, especially the more insane elements that can come from the first few years of being together.

This has got to be one of the more endearing graphic novels I've read this year. Its so adorable yet isn't afraid to make jokes at the expense of the two leading characters (a recently married couple, naturally).

Their relationship is so organic and real, you can tell that Debbie Tung based much of it (if not all of it) on real life. Personally, I love that the couple features an introvert and an extrovert. Anybody who has been in or seen this pairing before knows exactly how chaotic it can become at times!

It's amazing how relatable both characters are (though obviously I found myself appreciating the commentary from the introvert more, no surprise there). Plus, I love how weird the characters were portrayed as – because we all get a little bit weird when there's nobody other than our significant other around. It's okay to admit that! That's something that Debbie Tung really reinforced here, and I love it.

If you've ever seen or read anything by Debbie Tung in the past, then you know exactly what you're in for in regards to art style. If not, the cover itself should help to give you an idea. She loves making quirky characters, and usually works in mostly black and grays (though when color is called for, red is always a fun way to go).

I cannot recommend Happily Ever After & Everything In Between, or any of Debbie Tung's graphic novels enough. I adore her work, and cannot wait to see what she comes up with next.

Cute, humorous, and light-hearted book casting light on co-habitating with your loved one and mundane life in intimate spaces. I laughed-out-loud and told my spouse "See?!? It's not just us!" several times through out reading the book, to which my spouse responded by just looking at me like I had lost it. Thanks to Ms. Tung for sharing those everyday neuroses with us!

I loved the art style!

This is an easy graphic novel that tells you what the everyday life of marriage can bring. Especially if you and your loved one are best friends, which hopefully you are. I love how simple this story was while also be honest. There are funny points every so often in between the normalcy. The one thing that could've made this a better read for me was if there was a connection between each "scene". After you get into the story you realize that sometimes each page is a completely new conversation and is not connected to the previous conversation.

I really liked this. The art is simple, the comics are expressive enough and I really like reading comics about life. We are all scared about the world and scared about who we are, but reading something fluffy and sweet is amazing.

After watching my life play out in the pages of Debbie Tung’s ‘Quiet Girl in a Noisy World’ and ‘Book Love’, I was eagerly anticipating seeing what other thing that makes me me she was going to explore. This third graphic novel is where our lives diverge, which turned this read from ‘how is she getting into my head?’ to ‘aww, Debbie and Jason are such a cute couple’.

Whether you’re deciding what to cook for dinner or ensuring the essentials find their way into the household budget, it’s important that your partner understands your love language. While there are some sweet, kinda mushy moments, single, introverted bookworms will also find plenty of relatable moments in this collection.

While I couldn’t guess what Debbie would tackle next after finishing her second graphic novel, the reveal at the end of this one seems to me to be a pretty big clue about what to expect from the next one.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the opportunity to read this graphic novel.

Debbie Tung caught my interest in the first book I read, so of course, I had to read this one. Love the illustrations that capture the emotions in a simple way but still deep. In this book, we see the normal daily situations a couple deals with, discussions, activities, and all the ordinary real-life experiences. While reading it’s impossible not to laugh and thinking how cute it is.
It’s fast to ready and it’s worth it every second spend. Makes you smile and agreed with these situations so realistic. Many readers must see them in most of these moments.

This was a sweet book with great illustrations and I would gladly buy it as a gift for a young married couple - perhaps as a wedding anniversary gift. Debbie Tung illustrates beautifully and the cartoons about different life situations a young couple in love find themselves in. Juxtaposing deep and meaningful conversations with the ordinary, Debbie captures facial expressions perfectly. A great little read and some sweet cartoons to return to and enjoy a chuckle or a smile.

I love Debbie's work, Quiet Girl... is brilliant.

This is focusing on life as a married couple, and I definitely related to it.
Fairly short read.

I read the ebook version - I wonder if some of the pages were meant to be viewed side by side?
One minor point - despite living in the UK, there are Dollar signs included and referencing to "hiking a trail" - presumably to cater to US audience from publication.

Small moments are often underrepresented in romance stories because grand gestures are easier to show and display in media. Happily Ever After and Everything In Between does the opposite focusing on the small moments and how there compounding creates one of the most fleshed out and real feeling relationships I’ve encountered. Large moments like New Years parties or buying a house are present but often just the settings for the quirky and intimate moments this couple shares. This creates a comic collection that is a joy to read and something you should pick up today.

I knew this book would be lovely after the first page: "Six years ago...I married my best friend."

In short, mostly 4-panel comics, Tung portrays the everyday lives of a new married couple. I found them humorous, adorable, and super honest and relatable. I especially love the one where they spend a while deciding what movie to watch but they both end up falling asleep.

How does one review a graphic novel? Well, this is the first one that I am reviewing (yep, surprising!) and I'm learning as I go forward. Also, it has been a few years since I last read one which was my entire collection of Tintin by Hergé.

I've had my eyes for a long time on Book Love, Debbie Tung's second graphic novel. Being the book lover that I am, it is the next book I'm looking forward to reading. And when the opportunity came to read her latest work I'm thankful to NetGalley for allowing me to read it!

Happily Ever After is the author's story. Of her own happily ever after with her best friend and husband, Jason. It is a really lovely take on everyday life, just what the second part of the title says – Everything In Between. I'm not yet married, never had a boyfriend, but I devour romantic books like nobody's business. My 500+ romance reads as listed on Goodreads can attest to that. And I can definitely say that this one was so, so good. And a real-life story at that!

Initially, while reading it, I was kind of waiting for something phenomenal to happen. It takes a little time to get used to, maybe. But a small way in and the adventure starts to show. The banal conversations, the comforting familiarity, the getting used to being married, the sharing with each other, also motivating each other, the cute skirmishes, and essentially starting over in life as a couple (the decisions to make). Even the society peeks in once with its comments.

Debbie Tung's way of description and dialogue had me enraptured for close to three hours (I couldn't resist and finished reading it in between other books). I will always treasure this small wonder of art, where Tung managed to transform the mundane to the magical! (And in the process helped me to pick some pointers, because did I not mention introvert?)

Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for an e-ARC of the book.

Happy Pub Day to this adorable graphic novel chronicling the relatable day to day life of a couple, from dating to pregnancy. Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for allowing me to read Debbie Tung's work pre-release! As a newlywed myself, I completely relate to the daily lives of the main characters. It provides an intimate view of what sharing your life with another person is like and being completely comfortable with your partner. The author includes very specific examples in which I could see myself and my husband in. The situations were truly relatable and I constantly found myself saying "We're not the only ones!!" with glee. I love the black lined simple illustrations which do a great job of portraying the personalities of the main characters while allowing you to focus on the story. I found myself laughing out loud while reading this and had my husband join in. We both loved this graphic novel and I cannot wait to purchase the printed version, to reflect on for years down the road. If you are in any type of relationship, no matter the length of time, you'll want to read this!

This is the first graphic novel I've read by Debbie Tung and it was a lot of fun! Both the art and the story--which is about the author and her husband--are equally cute. I'm not married to anyone, have never even been in a relationship, yet this book made me smile constantly because it's just that good. Happily Ever After and Everything in Between is a book with a lot of humour and heart, and something I'd definitely recommend to the people I know who can relate to it more.

I had a great time reading this graphic novel. Each panel made me laugh, some more than others. It wasn’t too hard to relate to some of these pages, and the truth they revealed made it a real blast to read. The ending was a nice surprise, and made me look forward to where this couple might be heading next. This won’t be a graphic novel for everyone, but I think some people will like it.

Debbie Tung captures the funny and amusing in the everyday life of couples. I love how the illustrations are so relatable, as I am a married gal myself, regardless of the simplicity of the situation pictured.

This was a delightful read. I swear Debbie Tung and I could be fantastic friends if we ever met because Her comics are so relatable. My husband and I have had so many of the discussions she illustrates in her book, I was constantly thinking I was the main character in this book. I can’t wait to read more of her books!

A fun look into the life of a couple living together, in love and in life, I laughed at so many pages, it all felt so real and relatable.

I didn't know Debbie's work, but I was very interested in the graphic novel as soon as I saw the cover and the title and I must say that the reading proved to be as good as I expected.

The author tells in the comics the day-to-day life of her wedding and how her partner manages to be special in all possible ways for her. I won't lie I think the graphic novel is very cute, in addition I had a good laugh every page I read.

The author's drawing is simple and all in black and white, but, I think so incredible the way she describe all the emotion and love in her relationship. What made me love even more GN was the number of times I saw myself in it. This is undoubtedly a graphic Novel that is worth reading, it is funny and will make you wonder why you aren't yet married because of the cute and charming way she draws her wedding.

I’ve enjoyed Debbie Tung’s work in the past so I was excited to pick up this one from NetGalley and I was not disappointed! I showed many of these comics to my husband, as they were so spot-on with our experiences too. I like her simpler black and white style, as much as I relate to her love of hoodies and books and tea :-)

Happily Ever After & Everything in Between is a great graphic novel about the goods and bads of relationships.

A young couple got married, and six years after is when this book takes place. In public, they are super cute and relaxed, and at home they are fun weirdos together. We see the fun times they have, the goofy comments they say, and the slice of life of a friendly married couple. There's bits and bites of random scenarios, making it feel like a little comic anthology at times. All of it comes off as very relatable.

Overall, this book is sweet and fun! The illustrations are absolutely, insanely, incredibly great and I really enjoyed diving into this book. Picking up more graphic novels was my goal this year, and this was just the little, comedic gem I needed.

I don't think every reader will like this book, but I enjoyed it! It's a simple, contemporary read that will brighten your day.

Four out of five stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

Debbie Tung shares her experiences in the form of graphic novels. Each publication has focused on a different aspect of her life. If you share her experience of being introverted or bookish, there will be plenty of panels you read and exclaim "it's me!" or smile in understanding.

I received this as a review copy from NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing. All opinions are my own.

I'm so in love with Debbie Tung's art, so when I saw her new book was on NetGalley I had to request it, and I must say I LOVE IT. Her comics are so cute and relatable. I love her art style and in this book specifically there were some one-page illustrations that were amazing! This time her comics were all about her marriage and the relationship with her husband and it was so cute and real. Highly recommend her work, everyone should read this!

I always enjoy Debbie Tung's comics, and this one didn´t disappoint. It's an honestly awkward and sweet portrayal of what it is like to be newly married for a young couple nowadays. Most people will see themselves or their partner reflected in some part of this book, which will have them both laughing and reflecting upon life.

Hola

Saludos.

Absolutely adorable comics about finding your person. I love Debbie Tung's style and she really captures daily life so well. Her comics feel like coming home and settling in on a gloomy, windy day.

Debbie Tung once again perfectly captured the beauty and humor of daily life in her new book Happily Ever After & Everything In Between--this time focusing on a couple's journey to marriage and settling down. It is so fun to see the contrast and harmony between an introvert and an extrovert.

Though this is not my favorite among Debbie Tung’s works, it's definitely very cute and relatable. I adore Tung's artwork, and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for that feel-good, happy vibes book or when you need a reminder that true love still exists in the world.

Big thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing a copy of this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a fan of the author and follow her on insta too. This book was everything I imagined and more! I'm going to buy the book after lock down.
Each comic strip was better than the last. Some even made me laugh out out. I love how comfortable you both are with each other. That in itself is a huge milestone. The cartoons were amazing. I finished the book in fifteen minutes but I suggest you to slowly savor it. You'll enjoy it more this way!

A series of comics about the life you have with everyday love. It is just normal things in normal life. It is super sweet. The very first line says, "Six years ago I married my best friend and this is our adventure together." The art is cute. The shades of grey fit the comic really well. There were several pages that reminded me of what things are like with my husband. It was nice to see the positive aspect of relationships. Two people who love each other and aren't complaining about the other.

Another cute, quirky, hilarious, and utterly relatable collection of comics from the talented Debbie Tung. I read and enjoyed Book Love and Quiet Girl in a Noisy World last year and was so excited to get the chance to read her newest comic early. I highly recommend you pick up a copy!

This is a cute and wholesome collection of comics showing the trials and tribulations of adulting as a newlywed couple. This book would make a nice gift for any engaged duo that enjoys romantic comedies and cuddles. While not as profound as Debbie Tung’s “Quiet Girl in a Noisy World” this is a sugary sweet glimpse of life that will make you feel as cozy as being curled up on the sofa with a cup of cocoa and your favorite blanket.

Happily Ever After is a sweet graphic novel which tells the tale of the early stages of a marriage. So much of it will be relatable to co-habiting couples.

It made me smile with subtle humour and cute observations about everyday life. The dynamic between a couple and the little habits and home comforts made me smile in recognition.

The black and white colour palette and the 'clean' illustrative style is very much right up my street.

I'd say it has a female target audience in mind.

I highly recommend this as a heartwarming, beautifully put together graphic novel.

This is a sweet and funny read, and so relatable! It captures the feels of being a freshly married couple through being more relaxed and comfortable in the relationship phase. This book is made for gift giving, and would be good for weddings, anniversaries, or Valentine's Day as something that will last longer than flowers or chocolates.
