From the first to the last page I was hooked. A psychological thriller which I found very hard to put down. Glued to my seat and constantly holding my breath. A thought provoking insight of being in love and what we are prepared to do. A gripping domestic noir, the only fault I found was the book was too long. I felt the last four chapters were not needed. Otherwise I would have awarded this book five stars.

Elisabeth Pieterse is a young and naive nurse born and raise in South Africa. One day she meets Dion Du Toit, a handsome salesman she cannot help but fall in love with.

After their wedding, Elisabeth discovers Dion’s real personality -a manipulative, scary at best, monster.

Will she take the step to get out of the marriage or will she let love confuse her into staying?

This was one of those of book that I wasn’t sure whether I’d like when I started it but I was already hooked a few pages in.

The narrative is well written, concise, and visual. I could see the beautiful imagery of South Africa as I was reading it despite of the fact that I have never been there.

The juxtaposition of characters falls perfectly into place. Good against evil, love against hatred. I fell frustrated at times with the choices Elisabeth made sometimes, but that is why this book is so good -it reminds you that wanting to see the best in people will sometimes blind you.

Based on true events, you will have to keep reminding you that this is not some sort of fabricated story the author came up with! be prepared to feel tension, suspense, and even fear when you read it!

Disclosure: I would like to thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial Group for a copy of Who Are You? by Diana K Robinson. This is my honest review.

This was a great read. It was so tense. I couldn't put it down but I was regularly afraid to read on, dreading what was going to happen next. Robinson really has a gift of drawing the reader in and keeping them hooked right up until the last page. While Elizabeth allowing herself to get sucked in by Dion was questionable, so many women have succumbed to such evil characters in the past and many have not lived to tell their tale. I really enjoyed this read and I think it will appeal to all who like psychological thrillers and who enjoy hanging off the edge of their seat!!

This was an interesting book, though I think it's mislabeled in the "mysteries and thrillers' category. It's not a mystery at all- in fact, the prologue clearly tells you the ending of the book, and the chapters go through the details to get you back there. I'd place it solely in the "contemporary fiction" genre. The book centers on Elizabeth, a naive nursing student who lives in South Africa and gets caught up in a relationship with Dion, who is an alcoholic, adulterer, and possibly a sociopath. The whole book is around Elizabeth's struggles around whether she should stay with Dion or leave. I read that this is based on a true story, which almost seemed unbelievable at times.

This author did a good job of allowing the reader to see where Elizabeth was coming from, even when you were frustrated with the decisions she was making (which was often!). I also really enjoyed the relationship she shared with her family, including her kids, mother, and brother, as well as her best friend. I could feel the connections between them by the way it was written. I did find I had trouble getting into the story in the beginning, but once I was about a third of the way through, the pace picked up.

Elizabeth goes through an awful lot in this book and comes out on the other side with a great deal of wisdom. I found the ending of the book satisfying, though there were many sad things leading up to that point.

All in all, this is a good read but you will be disappointed if you were expecting a mystery or thriller. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A thought provoking and insightful look at just what it means to be in love and what we do because of it. The main protagonist, Elizabeth at times is so frustrating with the choices she makes, but it it's part of the books time as even though she makes some really poor choices, she's so likable and relatable.

Easy to read and a good storyline. Took a little while to get started and for me to get into it but once I was invested I enjoyed it.

Based on the cover and the blurb, this story was nothing at all like I expected it to be but I wasn't disappointed.
From the start I liked Elizabeth and felt like I could really sympathize with the horrible way her life turned out.
She had so much thrown at her but she still came out th other side as a much stronger person.
I found the last 5/6 chapters did drag a little bit for me, but I found the rest very easy to read and I didn't want to put it down.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book for my honest review. Unfortunately I was unable to finish the book or actually get more then 10 pages into it the writing is horrendous and needs serious editing.

I will not be reviewing this book on my blog. While I love the premise, the book editing seems unfinished. I actually saw a comment toward the beginning of the book where someone had asked a question, but it had not been removed when the book was sent to NetGalley.

I was unable to finish this book, because it seems to be unfinished, and I would rather wait to read it when its editing is done, and the book is released. Once these issues are cleared up, I am more than happy to read and review. Like I said before, the premise is really interesting, the book just needs more tweaks in order to make it readable. Thank you!
