This was such a cute book! Very easy to read, with lots of colour and fun. The ending was really sweet and Ada thought it was hilarious. Definitely one we will read again and friends will love, if we get it for them.
Nate doesn’t want to nap. He’s has too many things to do, like be a knight slaying dragons, fly in outer space as an astronaut, or fight crime as a superhero. There’s no time for napping… or is there? Enjoy Nate’s dreams as he finally drifts off to sleep, where our imaginations can go wild.
Big Nate is extremely popular in my library, and by all accounts it stems from word of mouth between students. I can’t wait to share this with students who already love Big Nate but are either aren’t “big” enough for them, or who want to share their favorite character with younger siblings at home.
This is a funny book. Younger elementary students will love to read and look at the pictures of Little Nate.
Nates hates to nap. He'd rather play. This is a short book, but very to the point. I love how it shows all the places our dreams can take us. This book would be extremely helpful for kids who protests nap time
Adorable book for a new audience, with a well-known beloved character! My oldest son loves the "Big Nate" series and now his younger brother can join in the fun. Fun story and quick read.
I enjoyed this book, precisely because my granddaughter hates to nap. Nate doesn't want to nap, and thinks about all of the amazing activities he'd rather be doing instead of napping, only to find out that he has fallen asleep and dreamt about them. This book is short and has colorful illustrations. I can't wait to share it with my granddaughter!
I am a big fan of the kind of content Andrews McMeel choose to publish. This little, fun book was no different. To the child's imagination, it is a story that they don't see coming, I loved that it was able to do that while keeping it simple!
The munchkins "really loved it", their words. We enjoyed the rhymes, and it prompted a conversation about dreams and what cheers us up from bad dreams.
Big Nate is always a super fun read. I like to recommend these books to kids who are not quite up to the J graphic novel of j fiction section but want to feel like they are. A great transition to those sections or book for an adult to read and share.
This book was really short. I liked the cute, colorful pages and the rhyming throughout, but ny eight and four year old where not fan of this one. Its definitely one for smaller age children? Maybe one to three years old? I feel like for that age group it would be ideal.
Little Big Nate No Nap by Lincoln Pierce is a charming board book for toddlers. The bright colors and adorable pictures allow toddlers to use their imaginations. I enjoyed the short rhythmic words and look forward to reading more of this series as our son gets older. This was the perfect introduction for him. Hopefully it will make nap time a breeze!
Do you hate nap time? Would you rather walk off to do wondrous things like strolling on the moon than waste your time napping?
Big Nate is no different than you. But is he? After all who can resist taking a short nap if it takes you to multiple dreamlands?
How about sitting on a mountain of cookies, or travelling time to enter a primitive age, or fighting a dragon!!🐉
Exciting, huh? Well, have-ta take that nap if you wish to wish to enter these world. Big Nate will do the same.
The picture book has a minute amount of text, it is a filled with bright colors and has a lot of rhymes, especially written for those tiny minds.
Wanna get into Nate's dreams while he dozes off? Dig in then. The book will be out in stores on 1st September just for little dreamers.
This book was cute, and aimed at very, very young children. Kids will be able to relate to Nate and will probably have lots of fun discussing the ideas presented!
Adorable little rhyming book about a little boy who doesn’t want to take a nap.
It is very short and quick to read, which works out well for keeping the attention of younger children.
The illustrations are cute and fit the book well.
Little Big Nate hates naps. Don't all little kids? This is a cute journey through all of the things a child would rather be doing instead of wasting time sleeping.
* I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
This is a cute title that has rhyming text and brightly colored, engaging illustrations. Young children learn that Nate does not like to nap...will he fall asleep or won't he? Little ones will enjoy seeing what Nate would like to do instead and discovering if he does indeed have that nap.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.
My daughter and I used to read Big Nate books when she was young, so it's great to see there is now a Little Big Nate series. This fun children's book is great for Pre-Schoolers who don't want to sleep! Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for my digital copy.
Great addition to the Nate series. Love that even the littlest of readers can enjoy him. Cute ulkustrauins and fun colors will make this one stick out.
Little Big Nate: No Nap! had such wonderful illustrations and my 2-year old and I enjoyed reading this together. I didn't like, however that on page one it says that "Nate hates naps." Hate is such a strong word and I skipped over this when reading. I don't want my son to know hate yet. Nate doesn't like naps would have been so much better. I know one word seems trivial but it's a strong little word.
"Little Big Nate: No Nap!" by Lincoln Peirce is a cute children's book about a young boy that just doesn't want to take a nap! Luckily, he falls asleep and goes on adventures in his dreams! Is napping really such a bad thing?
This book was cute and our family enjoyed it. We enjoyed the bright colors and images. The dream scenarios were fun and engaging for children. Our family all liked the "eat cookies all day" part of the dream. The only thing that we did not like about the book was that it was so short. We wish there would have been either more examples of dreams within the sequence or maybe more elaboration. Overall this was a great book that we would recommend to friends with young children.
