I enjoyed this book, and I love the idea of introducing Big Nate to the kids at an earlier age so that he will be familiar when they get older. But he doesn't have quite the charm of Big Big Nate. Little Big Nate is really every toddler, which is not a bad thing in this book. But it's his character when he is older that makes him stand out in the grade school books.

Little Big Nate: No Nap! was a very cute read and I can see little kids really enjoying this book. The pictures are also super cute!!

This is a sweet, short book geared toward very young kids. Little Big Nate doesn’t want to nap. But we get an insight into his dreams and what he does like to do.

A familiar character comes to us in little form! Naps are hard, but when you start daydreaming maybe they aren’t as bad as they seem. Sweet illustrations and fun rhymes, very cute.

Little Big Nate No Nap by Lincoln Peirce is a really cute board book for toddlers. The colors are bright and the pictures are adorable and include Nate in each scene. This book will allow toddlers to imagine more because of the short descriptions with pictures... and hopefully make it easier for nap time! ;)

This was a very simple book. It was 8 pages long. It would be a good beginner book. The pictures were good. The words were simple. By the time napping becomes an issue the child can probably read this book.

Who would have guessed Big Nate's younger self would be used to launch into a critical study of the whole "it was only a dream" series of Dallas, with appendices regarding other uses of the "actually, the character's fallen asleep already" trope in literature?! Well, you don't get that here, either, but what you do get is an improvement on the first LBN board book, with our hero both showing the imagination of a most typical kid, and protesting the benefit of staying awake at the same time. This is more of its own thing as opposed to just advert for the main titles, so comes with a firmer recommendation.

Lincoln Peirce is always charming, and this book is no exception. I recommend this Little Big Nate book, along with Peirce's other works, for reading in the classroom, school library, and at home. I love this author's creativity!

A cute little board book version of Big Nate. This would work perfectly for 4K and 5K as a way to introduce them to the beloved Big Nate series!

The Big Nate series is so popular in my library. There is a hold list a mile long. This latest younger version of Big Nate will, definitely, appeal to my very young students. They will be delighted to read one in a series that their older sibling reads. The book is sweet and the illustrations vivid. It is bound to stimulate those imaginations.

Review to come to my blog on August 11th and Goodreads on August 17th-ish.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

The second Little Big Nate picture book and of course I had to get it when I saw it on Netgalley. The previous one was plenty of fun. I love that they are doing picture books of this character now.

In this one Nate doesn't want to take a nap! I can so understand him. I am a big girl so no compulsory naps for me, but my body is at times a bit weak and I do need a nap. I know how it feels when you have so much to do, so much you still want to do. You don't want to go to sleep. You just want to keep playing, working, etc.
In this book we see that everyone is going to sleep, but Nate is just thinking of all the things he wants to do (Nate, I fully agree on the cookies part). He thinks the most wonderful things, and then there is the ending and guess what Nate did?

Yes, naps may at times seem no fun, but they can bring you to unlimited worlds. And I love that Nate can show the littlest ones among us that.

I still think that Nate has a cute little moustache under his nose. I cannot help it. I try to see it as a shadow... but almost nothing else has a shadow like that. :P

All in all, another wonderful Little Big Nate book, I had so much fun reading this one. I can't wait what is next for Little Big Nate.

This book has the makings of a perfect board book: short enough to hold a toddler's attention, large, colorful pictures, and rhyming verses. This would be a fun book to have, but I do wish the author has said Nate "doesn't like naps" instead of "hates naps."

This is a cute but short book about taking naps. I love that the pages rhyme. I think that younger children would enjoy this as a before nap read. My older son loves Big Nate, and I love that it is the same character appealing to a younger audience. The illustrations in the book are wonderful.

This short story is great for beginning readers or to share with toddlers. Nate does not like naps, and as he thinks of all the other things he'd rather be doing instead (which are written in an easily flowing rhyme) he falls asleep anyway. The pictures are very child friendly and accessible. A cute bedtime story or one that beginning readers can read with confidence.

“Little Big Nate: No Nap” is a cute story for a toddler or preschooler. Little Big Nate doesn’t like to nap and would rather being playing all day however, at the end he realizes that napping is fun too. The rhyming and illustrations were cute as well. I do wish it was a little longer as it was a fun story.

Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for my digital copy in return for my honest review.

"Little Big Nate: No Nap!" by Lincoln Peirce is a cute children's book about a young boy that just doesn't want to take a nap! Luckily, he falls asleep and goes on adventures in his dreams! Is napping really such a bad thing?

This book was cute and our family enjoyed it. We enjoyed the bright colors and images. The dream scenarios were fun and engaging for children. Our family all liked the "eat cookies all day" part of the dream. The only thing that we did not like about the book was that it was so short. We wish there would have been either more examples of dreams within the sequence or maybe more elaboration. Overall this was a great book that we would recommend to friends with young children.

My daughter and I used to read Big Nate books when she was young, so it's great to see there is now a Little Big Nate series. This fun children's book is great for Pre-Schoolers who don't want to sleep! Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for my digital copy.

Great addition to the Nate series. Love that even the littlest of readers can enjoy him. Cute ulkustrauins and fun colors will make this one stick out.

This is a cute title that has rhyming text and brightly colored, engaging illustrations.  Young children learn that Nate does not like to nap...will he fall asleep or won't he?  Little ones will enjoy seeing what Nate would like to do instead and discovering if he does indeed have that nap.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.

Little Big Nate No Nap by Lincoln Pierce is a charming board book for toddlers. The bright colors and adorable pictures allow toddlers to use their imaginations. I enjoyed the short rhythmic words and look forward to reading more of this series as our son gets older. This was the perfect introduction for him. Hopefully it will make nap time a breeze!

Do you hate nap time? Would you rather walk off to do wondrous things like strolling on the moon than waste your time napping?

Big Nate is no different than you. But is he? After all who can resist taking a short nap if it takes you to multiple dreamlands?

How about sitting on a mountain of cookies, or travelling time to enter a primitive age, or fighting a dragon!!🐉

Exciting, huh? Well, have-ta take that nap if you wish to wish to enter these world. Big Nate will do the same.

The picture book has a minute amount of text, it is a filled with bright colors and has a lot of rhymes, especially written for those tiny minds.

Wanna get into Nate's dreams while he dozes off? Dig in then. The book will be out in stores on 1st September just for little dreamers.

This book was cute, and aimed at very, very young children. Kids will be able to relate to Nate and will probably have lots of fun discussing the ideas presented!

Adorable little rhyming book about a little boy who doesn’t want to take a nap.

It is very short and quick to read, which works out well for keeping the attention of younger children.

The illustrations are cute and fit the book well.

Little Big Nate hates naps. Don't all little kids? This is a cute journey through all of the things a child would rather be doing instead of wasting time sleeping.

This book was really short. I liked the cute, colorful pages and the rhyming throughout, but ny eight and four year old where not fan of this one. Its definitely one for smaller age children? Maybe one to three years old? I feel like for that age group it would be ideal.

Big Nate is always a super fun read. I like to recommend these books to kids who are not quite up to the J graphic novel of j fiction section but want to feel like they are. A great transition to those sections or book for an adult to read and share.

The munchkins "really loved it", their words. We enjoyed the rhymes, and it prompted a conversation about dreams and what cheers us up from bad dreams.

I am a big fan of the kind of content Andrews McMeel choose to publish. This little, fun book was no different. To the child's imagination, it is a story that they don't see coming, I loved that it was able to do that while keeping it simple!

I enjoyed this book, precisely because my granddaughter hates to nap. Nate doesn't want to nap, and thinks about all of the amazing activities he'd rather be doing instead of napping, only to find out that he has fallen asleep and dreamt about them. This book is short and has colorful illustrations. I can't wait to share it with my granddaughter!

This is a funny book. Younger elementary students will love to read and look at the pictures of Little Nate.

Nates hates to nap. He'd rather play. This is a short book, but very to the point. I love how it shows all the places our dreams can take us. This book would be extremely helpful for kids who protests nap time

Adorable book for a new audience, with a well-known beloved character! My oldest son loves the "Big Nate" series and now his younger brother can join in the fun. Fun story and quick read.

Nate doesn’t want to nap. He’s has too many things to do, like be a knight slaying dragons, fly in outer space as an astronaut, or fight crime as a superhero. There’s no time for napping… or is there? Enjoy Nate’s dreams as he finally drifts off to sleep, where our imaginations can go wild.

Big Nate is extremely popular in my library, and by all accounts it stems from word of mouth between students. I can’t wait to share this with students who already love Big Nate but are either aren’t “big” enough for them, or who want to share their favorite character with younger siblings at home.

This was such a cute book! Very easy to read, with lots of colour and fun. The ending was really sweet and Ada thought it was hilarious. Definitely one we will read again and friends will love, if we get it for them.

Perfect for introducing little readers to Big Nate. The pictures are eye-catching and the rhyming text flows. The storyline is relatable—avoiding nap time! I will purchase for my child.

Super quick and cute read about a little guy who thinks he is too big for naptime. Nate can do so many things if he can stay awake....but in his dreams and imagination the things he can do have no limits.

Overall this was a quick and easy read. Great rhymes and easy sentences. Perfect for a new reader.

Now that's the best representation of a kid's imagination during nap time in the classroom!

Nate hates nap but it doesn't mean that he loves to think what other various things he could do instead of napping.

I love Nat already!

Looking forward for more in this series.

Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC.

Not to many kiddos like taking naps. To much to do and see. Little Big Nate tells us why he doesn't like taking naps and it was a great twist that will be a winner for both parents and little ones.

Taking naps helps children grow and have big imaginations. Plus give much needed time for parents to take a break. This one is a winner.

A Special Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

This is a really cute book to introduce the character Nate too little kids. He is not a fan of naps until he realizes the wonders of his imagination!

This is a cute book staring Little Big Nate! I could see preschoolers loving this book especially if they have older siblings that enjoy Big Nate. This would also be a great book for older children to read to younger children and share a favorite character.

What a cute book! This book is an adorable book that shows the fun, imaginative things that can come from taking naps.

Bright, funny, and realistic describe this board book! Great for toddlers and PK who can wholly relate to not liking naps. Rhyming text and a surprise ending make this extra great. Great for tired parents and caregivers who will relate to Nate's habits too! I hope to see more like this!

My toddlers and I have read this many times, we love it so much! It’s a quick and easy, it has bright colors and it kept them engaged and repeating the words. Perfect book! Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an ebook ARC. This is my honest review.

Do you like taking naps? Nate doesn't.
He loves to play instead & have lots of fun. A short story with a few catchy rhyming words for extra punch & bright, bold illustrations.
Young Nate shows us some of the things he'd like to do instead of napping. The pictures are colourful and attractive to the eye. Even though they're simple pictures they provide plenty of details to engage a child & adults can use them for conversation or fun questions/counting fun after (or during) the story.
Does he fall asleep? You'll have to read & see!
Made me smile.

This book was received as an ARC from Andrews McMeel Publishing in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I absolutely loved reading this book and from the brilliant mind of Lincoln Pierce comes a book for our younger readers about the most hated activity for a toddler...Naptime! Being a former employee of a daycare center, I know the struggles for scheduling and executing naptime for our children and how they just want to move around and play all day. The imagination of Nate is unreal and very relatable to young children. I know our parents and young ones will enjoy this series and this book very much.

We will consider adding this title to our PIC BOOK collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

First of all, I love the illustrations. This book is really colorful and an easy read. I just find it really funny and I think, younger kids will love it. It will also help mothers in encouraging children to sleep more which is also good. I just thought that it was longer than what I actually read.

This little book tells the story of Nate who does not want to have his afternoon nap but discovers that he can have adventures in his dreams! The illustrations are simple but effective. This is a very quick read but my 2 year old granddaughter really loved it. I think it would make a good book to share with children from 2 to 3. I would certainly buy this for my granddaughter and use it for the littlies in school.

How I love Big Nate, one of the funniest and snarkiest kid comic characters I've ever read. This, the second in the Little Big Nate board book series, is something I'd snap up in a heartbeat if I had a niece or nephew the proper age; here we find Big Nate in his early days of snark, at school and determined - no matter what the teacher says - that he is not going to lie down for his nap ... until he does, of course, and soon finds his imagination more than making up for the boring real world. Little Big Nate books are not just good for kids, but are lively and colorful and comically-illustrated enough to make for great interactive fun for the parents (who will also get/enjoy the sense of humor), too. Like pretty much anything Peirce does with this sardonic, very funny little boy, at any age, this one is highly recommended. (Available 9/1/2020) 5/5 stars

I am in love with these board books about Big Nate. They are a fun introduction to a popular character that are approachable and entertaining. This time we get to learn what Nate would like to do other than take a nap.

Little Big Nate hates nap time. But he dreams of all the things he could be doing instead and before he knows it, nap time is done and full of fun! Short and sweet, this was a fun little story perfect for toddler aged kids.

This book is the little brother to the middle-grade series "Big Nate." Same eye-popping graphics and protagonist. However, it doesn't really require any deep leaning into the Big Nate cannon. A very welcome addition to the board book shelf.
