With Blacklisted, Jay Crownover offers a tempting opposites attract romance about a by the book doctor and a bad boy biker who’s willing to do anything to keep her safe.

For the longest time, medical examiner Dr. Presley Baskin had lead a quiet life working and taking care of her mother, until her life was turned on its axis. Nothing would be the same after finding out she had three half siblings. Especially not once she helps save the life of the local motorcycle club’s president Shot Cadwell, a dark and sexy man who tends to talk on the opposite side of the law. But when her life is threatened, there’s no other man she trusts the most.

Shot was born and raised in a motorcycle club backdrop. Living on the edge, his priority and loyalty is to his brothers, he hates debts and has never considered having a relationship. But after Presley stitches him up he knows he owes her a favor and finds himself oddly protective of the woman who is his complete opposite. Can he protect her from the looming danger she’s in and convince her to take a chance on them?

I liked Shot from the moment I met him in a previous installment and could wait to get to know him. But better still, I couldn’t wait to read how the rough around the edges and dangerously alluring man would fall in love.

Crownover expertly shapes the off the charts attraction between Shot and Presley that blooms into swoon worthy love around a heart-pounding plot and surrounded by well-developed characters. But more than anything, Crownover nails both Shot and Presley’s change from total extremes into an emotional and unforgettable romance I could not put down.

Blacklisted is book #3 of the Loveless, Texas series by Jay Crownover. It’s a standalone, biker romance, told from both points of view with a happy ending.

Jay, you did it again. Wrote another spectacular book and series. What a great way to end the Loveless, Lawton clan. You left us with a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of Unforgiven. Gah! Blacklisted picked up right where Unforgiven ended. So definitely read the books in order. Crew, Case and Kody Lawton are a tight knit family. So when news of infidelity and a long lost sister appears, they’re really not sure how to handle the newcomer. Presley, is the spitting image of Kody. So there’s no doubt that she belongs to them. But when Presley just starts to attach herself to her new found siblings, her only life that she knows, starts to fall apart. But when Kody calls her for her help, she had no idea how much more her life would change. She meets Shot. Shot is the President of an MC club and not liked very much by the Lawton’s, except Kody. When Presley helps Shot out he is in debt to her. He doesn’t like that. When he tries to get that taken care of, chaos happens. He’s your typical tattooed, biker who doesn’t do relationships. But there is something about Presley that he can’t seem to forget. The two couldn’t be anymore different. But one thing that is for sure, is their chemistry for one another. The sparks fly! You will be captivated from page one, all the way to the end. There is danger and suspense. Compassion and love. And many more emotions. Can Shot help Presley out and teach her to let her hair down a bit? All while trying to protect her. And can Presley help give Shot some peace and quiet when he desperately needs it? This is a definite series you do not want to miss. Each Lawton gets their story. Each book keeps you on the edge of your seat as well. Blacklisted shows us that family is truly what matters and what they will do for one another. Grab this one today!

I have been dying to get my hands on this book!! Thank you NetGalley for not making me wait for the release date. Shot grabbed my attention and I have wanted his story the most. I usually hype myself up and then when I read the book I’m disappointed but not with this book. It was everything I wanted. I’m really hoping one day Jay goes all in on a motorcycle series and not just dipping her toes in. She has tattooed bad boys down and I know she would slay a mc series. I’m sad this series is over. I loved shot but hopefully he will pop into a another book some day.

The Loveless standalone trilogy has been one wild ride!

"You still owe me a favor, Presley. You can't leave a debt like that hanging."

These are all standalone, but I do recommend to read them all in order, there's a storyline that flows through all of the books, and since these are romantic suspense novels, you don't want to miss any of the revelations or clues!

I'll freely admit, I was not a Shot fan when he was introduced in the earlier books. But boy do I love redemption stories. Shot and Presley have some wild chemistry. Their opposites attract chemistry is equally swoony and hot.

"I'm asking you to pull through this because I'm pretty sure you love me, and I'm damn sure I'm in love with you."

This book will have you on the edge of your seat, so prepare yourself for a wild ride.

I absolutely loved this book. Shot was so sexy, sweet when he wanted to be and so very Alpha. Presley was amazing, sweet, caring, and stronger than she thought. These tow had nothing in common but were so perfectly matched. I loved the dynamics between them and how they seemed to calm each other's noise. This was my favorite book in the whole series. I look forward to reading more from Jay, I love her work.

Presley tells Shot she can't decide if she's safe or not with him, and that pretty much was the theme of their relationship. After their meet-violent in Kody's book, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Presley and Shot's story. Unfortunately, most of their story took place in their internal monologues and not between them.

Presley has a full slate: she's mourning her mother's death and trying to prove it was murder, trying to bond with her newly discovered half-siblings, fending off a former friend turned homicidal stalker, and fighting to get back her job as a medical examiner. Pretty inconvenient time to be attracted against your better judgment to your newly found half-sister's former lover who happens to be the president of the local MC. To say Presley's got a lot on mind is an understatement.

So it does make sense to spend most of the book in Presley's head as she mulls over her feelings and insecurities about Shot. However, we spend just as much time in Shot's head as he mulls over his feelings while inexplicably trying to protect Presley without her full knowledge. This isn't your typical courtship at all.

Melodrama is the author's forte so I didn't mind the Sons of Emotional Anarchy theme but things got too close to comfort with Presley's half-siblings constantly interfering. One brother and her sister's fiance push Shot to, without Presley's knowledge, draw out her mother's murderer/stalker; this isn't your typical family reunion.

SPOILER: Somehow, Presley's half-sister unwittingly interferes with this harebrained scheme and everything goes to pot. No worries, because in the end, another half-sibling emerges to save the day. Meanwhile, there was no clear indications that Presley and Shot actually cared or knew about each other past a mutual attraction until things fell apart and suddenly the ILYs were flying fast and thick. While the first half of the book dragged out far too long in their internal monologues, the last part of the book raced to cram in the necessary drama and emotional closure. While entertaining, it was just too unevenly paced to really settle and emotionally resonate.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a complimentary ARC which I voluntarily read and reviewed.

I am officially hooked on Jay Crownover. I am also pretty sad that it feels like this series is over. I fell right into Loveless, TX and was happy to hangout there. (even if it does seem pretty dangerous. lol) I had forgotten how much I enjoy suspense in my romance and these were the perfect combination of suspense and cowboy. Shot and Presley seemed like a mismatched pair, but fell in love perfectly.

Presley and Shot seem like a weird match but I love how they balance each other. They are both an escape from her stressful job and his rugged lifestyle. I feel like he would do anything for her, and he proved it. I also like that he didn't fight his instincts to constantly be drawn to Presley and he didn't hesitate to lean into their connection.

Also it was good to see her family slowly let her in their circle and to see how they were all doing. I did find myself skimming parts at times, and I can't totally say if it was the book or if it was me. It's been so hard to focus lately. I definitely cried near the end. There was action and romance and a happy ending. I'm thinking it might be the last book in the series.

The first book I've read in this series and I wasn't disappointed. Loved Shot and Presley, they complimented each other great. Shot is in an MC and Presley ends up saving his life one night. Lots of interesting family dynamics. I definitely need to go back and read the first two, it seems like a lot of good stuff happened. Highly recommend!

Adjusting seems to be the new norm for Dr. Presley Baskin. She adjusting to life without her mother, adjusting to learning she has three half-siblings, she’s adjusting to not be on her own since said siblings are making it their business to include her, she’s adjusting to learning her former best friend is trying to kill her and she’s adjusting to finding herself attracted to most unlikely person she could think of. Shot Caldwell is larger than life, tattooed, rough around the edges, dangerous and most definitely not her type. He lives his life on the edge but when Presley is called to help Shot after he’s been, well, shot and saves his life she finds herself kind of stuck with him since he’s declared he owes her.
Shot Caldwell does not like to owe anyone, he pays his debts and now that Presley has literally saved his life, he’s indebted to her. He’s proclaimed himself as her protector, at least until he feels he’s settled his debt with her. He’s the President of a Biker Club, he doesn’t necessarily life within the lines of the law and his lifestyle does not lend itself to relationships, but somehow, he finds himself there with Presley. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even if it means teaming up with the local law who aren’t really fans of his.
So, Presley has basically been in hiding since she learned that her whack-a-doo former best bud is trying to kill her. She’s also getting tired of having her life put on pause because of it. Aware of Presley’s situation, Shot appoints himself and members of the club to watch over her, much to the dismay of Presley and some of the club members. It’s Shot who convinces Presley to gradually go back to living her life in order to bring Ashby out to the open. Shot has a few enemies of his own and he’s not sure if the incidents that have occurred when he’s with Presley are attempts on her life or his.
I knew from the moment I was introduced to Shot in the previous Loveless books that I liked him, and I hoped he’d get a storyline. I couldn’t figure out how it was going to happen considering his interest lie with Kody Lawton and she was now with Hill Gamble. When I realized it was Presley who he was going to be paired with, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it because these two where at two different ends of the spectrum, but like they say…. Opposites attract and Jay Crownover tied them together beautifully. The chemistry between the two was great. I was kind of worried that Presley would be a “cold” character. I think she started off that way, but I liked the way she evolved, and she even had a little sense of humor. Shot, whose actual name is Palmer (color me surprised), well, the sex appeal just kind of jumped off the page. I appreciated how even though he fell in love, he didn’t lose who he was. He was could still be the badass he was first introduced as. I wouldn’t recommend reading this as a standalone simply because characters from previous books are mentioned quite a bit and if you are anything like me, you’ll wonder about their storylines and drive yourself crazy.
I was thinking there might be a spin off from the series featuring Shot’s VP, Top, because he seems like a pretty interesting character himself…but now I’m not too sure. Needless to say whatever comes next I’m anxiously awaiting.

4.25 Stars

Blacklisted is the 3rd full book in the Loveless, TX series.

Shot first appeared in Justified as the friend of Kody Lawton. Shot is the president of the local MC, and a former member of the military.

We first met Presley in Outlaw. She lived a quiet life caring for her ill mother and working her way up at her job as a medical examiner. After her mother passed, the life Presley had always known was suddenly ripped away.

Presley first met Shot when he needed medical attention and Kody enlisted Presley for the job. The way Shot and his MC see it, the club now owes her a favor. Presley felt an immediate connection and attraction to Shot, and he was unable to keep himself away from her as well. This book was by far my favorite of the series. The story proves that you cannot judge a book by its cover and that the heart wants what the heart wants. Shot was pretty swoon worthy and was willing to do anything to keep Presley safe. There are a lot of appearances by the Lawton family and a few members of Shot’s MC are interesting as well. I am hoping for Top’s book next!

This is my favorite book in the loveless series i just loved everything about it.

In this story we follow Presley and Shot who are from different worlds.

Presley is trying to clear her name in the M.D field while also trying to draw out Adley who was once her friend (or not) who is trying to frame her for stuff.

Shot is a President of a M.C and likes to deal with problems his own way and thats until he meets Presley and then things start to change a little

I love the whole family aspect of this story even though they didn’t grow up with presley they still took her in and treat her like family, like a sister

Jay Crownover can write hot bad@** biker men like no other. Blacklisted was phenomenal. I loved Shot and Presley’s story. Presley was so strong with all things considered and everything that was going on. She literally stole Shot’s heart. The whole family was protective over her and her well being. Shot was just as protective. He was not going to let anything happen to her on his watch. This book was action packed to its very core. I could not wait for them to catch this psychopath Ashby. She was a real piece of work. You never really knew what was going to happen. Throughout the whole book you are on the edge of your seat waiting for the other shoe to drop. The only issue I had with the book was how the whole “sting” operation went down. The men should have communicated all of this with Presley, especially since this directly affected her. Other than that this was a fabulous read!

Another fantast contemporary romance from Jay Crownover. The characters are richly depicted with great backstories. Fast moving plot and intriguing romance!

I couldn’t wait to read Shot’s story and what a story it was. Shot had me completely hooked. Presley & Shot are complete opposites but they make it work. I absolutely love all the Lawton’s and getting more of them is priceless. Such an amazing story with phenomenal characters that will have you hooked.

This is a weird one for me. I love this author and I love these characters but after reading it, I'm not 100% sure how I feel.

I loved the story but it felt a little lacking somehow. I think when we knew it would be Shot and Presley I expected a little more of that biker element to this but it makes more sense when we know it's Presley who is having the problems here. The club is mentioned and there is a small part showing how seedy their world can be but it 100% focused on Presley and the suspense of her life.

So I loved it because of that but I wanted a little bit of biker nonsense in this too. At the end, her author's note, says that she doesn't know much about that lifestyle so she didn't write much about it. I appreciate she wasn't willing to make something up because it sounded good.

Now back to the story itself. Presley make look like Kody but she COULDN'T be any more different from here. Kody is brash and acts without thinking where Presley just might over think everything. She's smart and cautious but also fairly open minded.

Shot is the dangerous man that most people warn you away from but he is much more than that. He is loyal and caring but also alpha in the way that he will care for you even if it pisses you off.

Honestly they're the perfect balance for each other and he is exactly what Presley needs. He brings her out of her shell and she brings the calm to him.

He puts Presley at the top of his list, much to the club's dismay, and is willing to do what it takes to make sure Ashby is out of her life. He makes it clear to Presley that Ashby has won if she continues to hide from the world. She takes her world back with an iron fist but of course when someone wants to hurt you, they will. They just didn't expect Presley to be loved the way she is.

Her initial intro with her new family was kinda harsh and I loved seeing how much their relationships have grown. I especially love the connection that grows between Crew and Presley.

Over all this was a fantastic read by an author whose writing just pulls you in and keeps you happy.

Read this book! Blacklisted is one of my favorite opposites attract stories that I’ve read in a long time. And, fans of Crownover’s Loveless Texas series will enjoy this satisfying conclusion.

Presley is having a rough time. Her mother died, and she found out she has three half siblings. It looks like her bff not only helped her mother along to her death, but sabotaged her promotion at the medical examiner’s office too. Now her former friend is trying to hurt Presley and her new found family. While she is hiding out from her stalker, her sister Kody calls her to help the biker with gunshot wounds who is bleeding on the floor of her bar. So Presley rushes in to save Shot, hottie and motorcycle club president.

Shot is thrilled that the gorgeous doctor saved his life but doesn’t like owing anyone. He also hates that her life is still in danger. The two get know each other as they keep protecting each other from the trouble they can’t seem to escape. As Presley’s stalker gets closer, the two work towards her capture while trying to build a relationship together.

Most opposites attract stories leave me wondering “but would they REALLY end up being together?” But Presley and Shot discover that underneath their very different and seemingly unemotional exteriors, they have a lot in common. Both have a tough time opening up to people and trusting anyone beyond their inner circle. Building their trust between each other is what drives this story, not just their steamy chemistry.

Blacklisted could be read as a stand-alone, but I’d recommend reading at least Unforgiven first as it sets some groundwork for this story. Besides, why would you want to miss out on any of the Loveless Texas books? Shot and Presley’s story was emotional, and suspenseful with fantastic chemistry. Now, time to go reread it!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have been waiting for this book and was not disappointed. Finally, we get to know more about Presley and her past as well as more of what maker her tick. Then we add in Shot and we get one wild ride of a story. At times, I thought that some of this story was a repeat from Kody's book but as it went on it the repeat of events worked since it refreshed the events and at times went into more detail. Shot was a mystery through Kody's book. He made a few appearances and then one big appearance at the end of her book but he remained much a mystery other than the other Lawson men did not like him. Here we learned some and I would have like to learn more about him but this book mainly focused on Presley and her stalker.

While the two characters had amazing chemistry this was also an action packed read that I had a hard time putting down. Presley had a very elusive stalker and I was waiting to see what happened next. Then when Shot is put into the story with the activities of his club, we get more action. I liked how Shot encouraged her to be a stronger person and how he was able to realize the difference in his feelings when he spent time with Presley and when he was not able to.

I enjoyed the return of the characters in the previous books even if there appearance was small. It also tied up loose ends between the Lawson family members well.

Overall, I liked how this series ended and was sorry to see it end. I also would recommend this book as well as the others in this series to other readers.

Sad face. This appears to be the last in the series. I have thoroughly enjoyed Loveless, Texas.
.
Let’s talk about the story we have all been waiting for....Shot. I enjoyed it. Blacklisted was very readable. Jay brought us some great steamy scenes in this opposites attract love story. If we are being honest, this was not my favorite in the series. I’m still partial to Aspen and Case. I had a harder time with this one... I think for me, I still love a good boy and Shot....he is a bad boy through and through. I’m glad I watched this series wrap up and don’t get me wrong it wrapped up well. I’m going to end with 4 stars. I will miss you Loveless, but Jay, I’m glad I found you in this series.

This one pretty much picks up after the last book, still following all the troubles that surround Presley. I wasn't sure about pairing her with Shot, but it worked and they worked together. He let her think about something other than work and she let him have time away from the club to just be. They had a lot to figure out, between her family heavily into law enforcement and his biker club. They managed to navigate those things pretty well, yet there was all the trouble with Presley's former best friend, who actually was her worst enemy. It was fun to see Shot chat with Case and Hill and come up with a plan to finally get the best friend. Of course they were doing this on their own, not letting any of the family or Presley know, which I knew was going to come back and bite them in the ass. And boy did it! So much drama at the end, people were hurt, you weren't sure if they were going to survive, all of which could have been prevented with a heads up to the women in the family.

I did like how this one ended, liked that Presley and Shot found their version of HEA and a way to live with her family.
