A fascinating read. The book is aimed at middle grade readers and they will find it thrilling, intriguing, and informative. As an adult, I already knew about most of the topics discussed in the book, but I still learned a lot. I particularly liked the 24-hour clock Lloyd used to help us wrap our brains around the unfathomably long years the earth has been around. (People have only been on the earth for the last few minutes before midnight!)

Christopher Lloyd’s writing is well-paced, interesting, and engaging—and even more so as he performs his own work. He’s an excellent narrator, and his passion and excitement for the topics show through.

In the epilogue, he mentions that he’s planning to write another book (Absolutely Everything Else) to cover the topics he missed in this book, particularly the topics that his readers would like to know more about. I can’t wait for the next edition!

After reading SAPIENS I realized that I could learn to leave my acquired fear of history in high school where it belongs.

Seeing this audiobook available on Net Galley I did not hesitate to request it.

Overall, I think my love for the profoundness I found in SAPIENS overshadowed my experience with this book.

That being said I think this is a great place to start for anyone interested in a quick glimpse at the history of everything.

In its physical form I believe this book includes illustrations and I think that would really add to all the great information it presents.

In the end, I would recommend this audiobook to anyone interested in a quick glimpse of our existence from the big bang to today.

This book was so informative I felt like I had taken a college course by the end of it, yet interesting enough that it kept my attention. I listened to it alongside my 5th grader and we learned so much together. I love the way the stories flow and the way things are explained. I have recommended this to several other friends in the homeschooling community- it's a must have.

I learned so much from this book. I feel like after graduate school I became so pigeonholed in my area of expertise that I forgot so many basic facts and things I had learned in my childhood.

This book was a great review. I loved how inclusive he was of all cultures and religions. He didn't gloss over Islam or portray Middle Eastern people in a negative light like many books do. He also gave scientific credit where it was due even if that was outside of the Western world, and that made me respect the author.

An engaging summary of the history of our universe and the life in it. Mr Llyod does an amazing of summarizing astronomy, biology, cosmology, geology, and physics into less than 7 hours. The narration style and prose are accessible to children. I love how to the author highlights the connectedness of everything and interjects suspenseful stories throughout to keep listeners actively listening and guessing what's coming next.

Lots of informative content, and the narrator is very enjoyable to listen to--it's not Christopher Lloyd the actor, by the way.

Buckle up for a ride through time, as Christopher Lloyd takes his readers through periods of history that describe the amazing instances that bought us to the world in which we live today!
I was strongly reminded of the book, CONNECTIONS, as I read, and since that book was used in one of my history classes, I believe this title is detailed enough to be included as a text in some classrooms. Lloyd takes a moment in history and clearly explains the significant events that led to the event (and the resulting repercussions). The reader can almost feel the reverberations across other cultures as certain historical events are linked to times of changing social, political, or environmental climates.
The author references a clock to compare our planet's existence and human emergence and interaction on it. I loved the visual illustration!
In addition, I was impressed by the author's diplomatic handling of religious, political, and social movements. He touches on the facts without revealing an opinion on the issues.
Christopher Lloyd chose to narrate his book and he did very well. His narration was fluid and he seemed to deliver the information easily. I felt as though I was in an auditorium, listening to a highly articulate speaker deliver a powerful message. The music at the beginning and end of the chapters only added to his wonderful performance.
I will definitely read more books by this author!
This book would be a good fit for a wide range of readers who are interested in expanding their knowledge base.

Omg if you’re 5 and curious about everything like my grandson this is your dream book. It’s such a wild ride. It’s not only full of information it’s actually engaging. You should definitely read it with your kids. Even I learned a thing or 3.

This is an informative and entertaining audiobook for all ages. This is something I enjoyed listening to, and it kept my kids engaged as well. This is a wonderful companion to the print book with its marvelous illustrations, but the audiobook feels in no way lacking as a stand-alone work. I thoroughly enjoyed it, plan to purchase the print book for our home (my kids would love it!), and will seek out other works by this author.

This was an entertaining and fast pace history book. It was full of facts, theories, hypothesis and more. While the author ensure to state when something was a theory or say "some experts think" I was disappointed when he flat out said the book of Exodus was a legend. To compare Jesus to Budah made me cringe and sadden that the author has yet to have personal encounter with his creator. I couldn't finish it after this but maybe will pick it up again later. If you're a conservative or God fearing person this probably isn't for you. I was given an audio copy by ntegally and publisher and was not required to give a good review. I'm giving it a three start because the author was animated and even though I don't believe in evaluation and other theories it was to hear the thought process behind these theories.

As a history lover, I loved this book. It literally went through the beginning of time to the present in one book. I had learned much of this in school, but many things I had to idea about. I loved the tidbits of information he told us about. I reader was great. He seemed very engaged in the books and I loved him accent.

The author narrates his book with enthusiasm and charm. From the Big Bang to the current era, listeners are swept along on a summary of evolution, historic discoveries, and the realization that we are not so different than our ancestors of long ago. I couldn't stop listening in my car, even when I'd reached my destination. So many facts and anecdotes help to craft a full picture of how the world began and formed. This is great for history buffs, science fans, and anyone who is interested in sociology, archaeology and more!

I loved listening to this so much, I want to get the audiobook for friends and family as well as share in our library for our homeschool families. I think it will be well-circulated in our collection.

This is a wonderful book. We’ll written and I would recommend for both adults and children. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish and would read it again! Plenty of facts I never knew.

When I was a child I was absolutely obsessed with books like this, I wanted to know why, where, when and how everything happened. As an adult I am still the same and question most things. This book is fantastic for children and adults alike and filled with the most amazing information. From the Big Bang theory, dinosaurs, climate change just to mention a few subjects. The narrators who happens to be the author is great to listen to and you can hear his enthusiasm throughout the book. Listening, I felt like I had just pulled up to an amusement ride and was going on a tour of Jurassic Park and the world. It was more of an experience than just an audiobook.

Just brilliant! I would recommend this to everyone I know. I bet it would also be great in schools to keep the children entertained whilst learning about the amazing history of the earth. In fact I think I will purchasing a couple of copies of the paper version as I hear, it has beautiful illustrated to give them as Christmas presents to my godsons.

While it's written for children, Absolutely Everything! is an engaging listen that tells the history of, well, absolutely everything. For fans of big history, those who wish they knew more about Earth origins, and lovers of history and science, this book's chapters guide you through the chapters of history as we know it from the very beginning, the big bang.

I really loved and enjoyed this interesting audiobook for children, which is all about the history of the earth, dinosaurs, inventions, nature and science. I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed the book. I was very excited to listen to some of the audiobook each day and I learned a lot from it. The narrator of the audiobook, who is also the author, was fantastic and he made the book really fun and easy to listen to. This would be a great book to have in a school, in ebook, hardcover and audiobook versions. It would make history lessons more fun! It would also be awesome for homeschooled children. Highly recommended!

I have so many good things to say about this (audio)book! Firstly, the author does a great job narrating his book and kept us thoroughly engrossed and entertained throughout and overall was very easy to listen to alongside two young children (bonus!). There was such a breadth of world history included - that even I, as a parent/home educator, learned and re-learned so many things! I enjoyed it so much and am keen to add a paperback/hardcover copy to our home library for reference!

This was SUCH an enjoyable treatise on Absolutely Everything! I'm a sucker for knowledge and even though I've read a good deal on evolution and religion, this was just such a lovely listen by a very wonderfully animated narrator. I would recommend this to ages 10 and up as a really great starting place for learning or a delightful refresher for brushing up you quiz night trivia.
