I found this book extremely interesting. I like how it covered so much history and it related it to a 24-hour day cycle. I learned a lot while listening to it and my kids found the way it was red to be very easy to understand. It talks to like you are educated instead of unknowledgeable. I also like how at the end he explained that he wanted to include more but didn't have enough space. I look forward to the next book.

I was provided a copy of this book by NetGalley as an audiobook for an honest review. I personally prefer to listen to my nonfiction materials. I greatly enjoyed this book because I learned so much, but was never bogged down with too many details. It is absolutely jam-packed with interesting stories that will hold anyone's interest. It featured a variety of topics from the formation of the Earth, wars, inventions, dinosaurs and the climate. We have purchased in hardcover format and it circulated like mad. I would recommend this for anyone with a reluctant reader or a child with an inquisitive mind.

Absolutely Everything!: A History of Earth, Dinosaurs, Rulers, Robots and Other Things Too Numerous to Mention connects history, nature, and science in an incredibly informative history of the world, from the beginning of time to the present day. Although I probably did not retain as much of the information because of the audiobook format, the narrator and author Christopher Lloyd is completely entertaining. He makes history sound so exciting and inviting at the same time. The history of the world is an immense undertaking, but the author does a great job of hitting the highlights.
I learned so many tidbits about the history of the world, including the first way that books were printed, inventions that shaped the way that humans lived, and a basic timeline when things happened. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and appreciated the fact that I could listen a little bit at a time and not feel lost.
I recommend Absolutely Everything!: A History of Earth, Dinosaurs, Rulers, Robots, and Other Things Too for a family roadtrip, nightly reading with the kids, or even for those looking to brush up on their world history.
Disclaimer: I was given an Advanced Audio Copy of this book by NetGalley and the publisher, Spotlight Audio What on Earth Books. The decision to listen to this audio version of the book was entirely my own.

I am always seeking knowledge. This book is fast-paced and the author has a wonderful wit that helps with the otherwise pretty serious science of the world. Literally a digest of the history of it. I learned some things that I don't remember learning while in school.

So good!!! Most of the things in there were already well known but others were new to me, still I loved them all equally. The narration was the best part, Christopher Lloyd did an incredible job. He genuinely sounded so excited about the book, it's infectious and I felt the same excitement listening to it. Hope he writes that second book, I'd love to listen to that audiobook as well.

oh! I LIKED IT VERY MUCH!
I do recommend this audiobook for children!
It's a great introduction to science and history presented in a very engaging way! It felt like watchig a movie!

As a history lover, this was thoroughly entertaining to me.
It's the perfect book to listen together to as a family on a long car ride or even as a resource for homeschooling.
The chapters are short enough to consume quickly, but long enough to give a well rounded synopsis of the topic. I can see it as a great jumping off point for further discussions with kids and a great way to discover different areas of history that might interest them to dive further into.
The audiobook is a perfect example of when an author is a great choice for the narrator. Christopher Lloyd was very engaging, like many great teachers are.
***Thank you to Publisher Spotlight Audio and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an unbiased review.

Christopher Lloyd's entertaining audiobook follows the history of the earth -- the WHOLE history!
Told in a fun, engaging tone, I really enjoyed listening to all the highlights of world history. His narration is not only delightful to listen to, but I felt like I was having fun at the same time.
Not much else to say as it covers practically the entirety of history!! This would be great for a road trip or anytime you want to take in some history a little at a time!
I received an ARC of this book as a reviewer for NetGalley.

I received a copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. What an incredibly interesting collection of historical events!! The anthropologist in me really appreciated this audiobook. Narrated by the author, it was so easy to listen to and follow along, and gave me strong David Attenborough vibes. From Dinosaurs to the Egyptians, all the way to present day, this book was so well put together. I can’t wait to read Absolutely Everything Else!!

My daughter has a very short attention span, but this audiobook was able to engage her and keep her entertained. It's fast paced and covers nearly everything, which she really enjoyed.

Five Stars isn't enough for this audiobook! I listened to this in my car, when I was taking my kids to and from activities. They LOVED IT! It's interesting, engaging, and full of fabulous information. Although the book doesn't dilute the content, it keeps it accessible for children in such a wonderful way. I loved the narrator and his excitement about the topics. I'd highly recommend this for car rides and bedtimes......or really anytime you're just hanging around as a family.

This book covered nearly everything. I didn’t read it with any children, but it was fast paced and fun enough that I would share it with mine and I think they would stay engaged throughout.

Amazing book, beautifully read by the author himself. This is like a Bill Bryson's 'A Short History of Nearly Everything' for children - covering everything from the Big Bang to world wars, computing and robots. So interesting, fast-paced and fun...it doesn't feel like you're learning whilst vast amounts of information is being fed to you,
Thank you NetGalley for providing me a free copy in exchange for an honest review!

I LOVE how in-depth and well researched this book is! It has a writing style that makes complex information very easy to understand! I have a science background, but still found this very informative, like taking a mental trip to a museum and actually getting to absorb all of the exhibit's information. The narration was wonderful and the content was informative AND fun, a difficult balance to strike. I definitely recommend this book!

this was a very informative book, but that didn't make it any less fun to read. i listened to it and i really recommend that format. i had a blast reading this. i already love history, but the author really brings it in a fun and easy to understand way. this makes it so younger children and older people can read and enjoy this book. i also really liked the message at the end about how there is still discrimination in our world.

Absolutely Everything! by Christopher Lloyd is an interesting audiobook. My son tends to like shorter segments in a book (he read this as an audiobook) so he was not as enthusiastic about this book as he has been about others. Overall, he said it was good. I received a digital copy of this audiobook with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

The author as narrator was really great. The tone, inflection, pauses, week all perfectly timed. It all made sense and this is from someone who did not do well in history classes. As an adult I was amazed a book like this was not already made. Great job Mr. Lloyd.

This was super fun to listen to with my kids, we all had a blast learning something new. Also, the narrator was incredible and made us feel welcomed.

If you were a kid would you want Christopher Lloyd to be your teacher? Would you want Doc Brown, the nutty inventor from Back To The Future, to explain science and stuff to you? Would you want Uncle Fester from the Addams Family to share with you his lightbulb moments? Yes. Yes you would. The audiobook is narrated by Christopher Lloyd himself and is every bit as wonderful as you'd expect. Utterly delightful from start to finish.

A big thank-you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for giving me a copy of this book for an unbiased review.
4/5 - Really liked it.
I listened to the audiobook, which was wonderfully and enthusiastically narrated by Christopher Lloyd. The narration was delightful with lovely musical accompaniments at the end of the chapters, which made the whole book "sound" very put together. The content was great as well - I especially enjoyed the beginning of the book, which covered the formation of the planet. I was fascinated. I was texting my friends in all-caps, asking if they knew that a great portion of the very water we were drinking came from ice comets from outer space. How incredible!
The reason I'm not rating this book higher is because I felt that modern history was a bit rushed compared to the beginning of the world. It was as if Lloyd had dedicated the proper amount of energy, passion, and time to the beginning of the book and then began to run out of time or space at the end. Of course, it's impossible to cover all of the world's history in a book but the end did begin to feel a little bit like someone saying: "And then this happened, and then they came in, and oh - they did this, and anyway this happened, because these people did this..." I wished he could dedicate more time to it. It would have made for a longer book, but I gladly would have read or listened. He's a fascinating writer and storyteller. I wanted more depth and content.
Overall, a brilliant book and highly recommended for both children and adults.
