A great book that makes the trend of Boba or bubble tea accessible to all households. I’ve really enjoyed boba on the couple of times that I’ve tried it, but never thought about making it at home. Actually I think it would be a better way to do it since the bubble tea cafés can be expensive and I hate getting takeaway plastic cups. Excellent well written book with great photos and instructions.

I love Boba and this book teaches you how to make delicious Boba at home! It includes classic recipes, as well as more adventurous recipes to try from home.

Boba is a fun and charming book that teaches you how to make Bubble Tea or Boba, at home. The book includes over 50 recipes such as classic milk tea, fruit teas and specialty teas. It's perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to make bubble tea at home, using natural (i.e. healthier) ingredients!

Who would thought that making boba is not easy? When requested this book, I think I will found myself with a book contains many varieties of boba drinks. But NOPE. I am totally wrong. Here are the reasons.

As an Asian, boba is a part of my life, though I'm so picky with my bubble teas. Bubble tea was not my favorite drink, because all these times I underestimate it. Some mediocre Boba vendors make it easy to create one, and not always good. After this book, I think I'm more convinced to find the right boba place.

First, boba is about that black tapioca balls. Maybe some bought it ready made, makes the flavor or consistency so gooey or hard. Here they explained how to make one, in detail. Secondly, the syrup is not always good. Here they give recipes to make basic syrup as well as some other sweeteners that amazed me. And they also include the science of ice. Amazed me!

A great introduction on how to make boba! The book itself is very bright and beautiful. The recipes also look so refreshing and delicious. The main reason I would recommend this book is for all of the unique flavour combinations, but also learning how to master the basics!

I got this one for my daughter and I to look at together. She thought that a lot of the recipes looked delicious and cannot wait to try them out.

I absolutely love the detail in this! From the start to end. My particular favourite is how to make the actual tapioca pearls... can't wait to try these recipes. The Evelyn is looking like a favourite. My friends and I are going to have so much fun making these at boba parties!

My only issue is the format. It might be the Netgalley app layout but the pages are every which way, which can be annoying

Boba by Stacey Kwong and Beyah del Mundo was a very interesting book. I have wanted to try Boba for a long time, but I still have yet to try any. I love that I can make it at home and this book covers everything you need to know as a beginner.

I am so glad that both these ladies wrote this book for those completely new to Boba and those that are Boba connoisseurs. As someone who is completely new, the idea of making my own Boba at home seems much less intimidating. I am glad they went over the grading systems, how to handle the tapioca balls, etc. Very helpful.

This book was so good. I cannot wait to try Boba soon, whether it is from a recipe from this book or at a shop on future travels.

If you love boba, you need this book. If you haven't found boba yet, you need this book. I made the Best Friend(Green Milk tea) and the Piglet. Both were fantastic. I cannot wait to try the others. The photography is good. It is well written. The directions are easy to follow. I think this book is more about the tea combinations and ways to customize than Boba directly, which is actually nice because it's nice to have stepping stones to somethings many people didn't grow up with.

My daughter introduced me to Boba a few months ago, so when this book appear I just had to take a peak inside to see what other versions we could now make. It's certainly a curious drink, having balls of tapioca in your tea! We are lucky enough to have an excellent Chinese supermarket in our little town so we can stock up whenever we fancy some more.

The book starts with an introduction along with the two authors back history, covers the basics, such as equipment and how to brew black and green tea leaves to perfection and provides some topping recipes (strangely these toppings go into the glass first then the tea is poured on top). Then it provides 28 recipes divided into Fruit Teas, Milk Teas and finally Speciality Drinks.

The book provides the perfect way to cook Boba balls and provides a recipe on how to make your own too. The fruit teas have jam in them, so rather than using stuff from a supermarket, the authors provide a number of recipes to make your own plus more recipes for making your own syrups.

The recipes are in both imperial and metric measurements. The recipes are quite simple to follow, and seem to follow the same ingredients apart from the fruit. I found a couple of bits a little confusing as when making jam it says use equal parts of cane sugar, and then further on in the syrups it says use equal parts of cane sugar, however it's 1.5 times.

Now this is a Boba drinks book, and whilst it provides recipes on how to make the Boba itself, none of the main Tea or speciality drinks have a step so you can put them in! Yes the main Boba recipe says add them to any drink but I'd want to know when to add them? It is before the topping, after, before the tea goes in? If this was included in each recipe then it would make for more than just a smoothie book with tea, it would be a smoothie book with Boba, which is what I was looking for.

A fun look into the world of making your own bubble tea!

This book is full of stories of how MILK+T came to be, as well as recipes for making all the components of traditional, and not so traditional, bubble teas. The recipes are short and easy to follow and are realistic about what you can find in a regular grocery store or an asian market in the US.

I think I most enjoyed exploring some of their more unusual recipes and see where creativity can take bubble tea.

For someone who wants to know more about boba, or just why it's popular, this is the book to pick up. Everything you need to know from the origin to recipes are between the front and back covers of this book.

The Boba tea book was just so fun.
I was interested in learning about making Boba tea and in the process of that I got to learn more about Stacey and Beyah and their business Milk+T. It was fun to read these step by step recipes while running into fun facts and hijinks of what starting their business was like.

This book made me want to go out and get the ingredients to try but it also made me follow them on social media and wish to visit their shop. I highly recommend it.

Boba, also known as bubble tea, is originated in Taiwan and has taken the world by storm with a variety combination of teas and different kinds of flavourful syrup. Of course, these drinks won't be the same without the tapioca balls and in this book, the two authors give readers more than a glimpse what lies behind the secrets of making boba tea.

Tea brewing itself is an art; so to learn how to make boba tea, it is important to know the various kinds of tea leaves (i.e. green tea, black tea, Oolong) and the right temperature to brew them (the longer you brew, the more bitter taste it is). I'm a big tea drinker myself and my favourites are green tea and Oolong so it is no surprise that my boba tea choices are: honey green tea, Golden Oolong tea and Oolong milk tea. Of course, I do try out the others at times for fun or depending on moods but those will always remain as my go-to drinks.

Back to the topic, this book also covers the essential equipment needed of making boba teas as well as how to make various flavoured syrups, sweeteners, toppings and not to mention homemade tapioca balls, etc. If you're a lover of fruit teas, this book has some recipes too, such as strawberry, mango, watermelon, kiwi, pineapple, pomelo, and cucumber teas).

In a nutshell, this book is a must-have for boba tea lovers and with their easy-to-follow recipes, you can create your own drinks anytime and however you like. I need to get a copy of this since my ARC didn't show the photos (probably due to my e-reader app) but most of all, I want it so I can refer to it anytime.

This is a great little book for anyone that enjoys bubble tea - a growing presence on the British high street. It traces the history of boba and presents it in an accessible way.

The recipes are divine; my daugher and I enjoyed sourcing the ingredients and giving them a try. Our personal favourite was Watermelon and Strwberry Black Tea, but there are many other recipes that we still need to try out.

The instructions are clear and helpful with logical steps and mouth-watering images to match your final creation to!

Go buy this book and enjoy!
