This is the fifth outing for the excellent Adam Fawley series and I’ve only read a couple and halfway through this one, I ordered another as I realized how much I enjoy them. Strongly character-driven rather than plot- driven stories revolving around the professional and personal lives of Adam and his team, usually with a couple of interesting cases weaved into the narrative. Here we have a podcast, a #hetoo case and the main plot of a past case coming to the forefront. Revenge, rage, remorse, it’s all here. Well-paced, with many unexpected twists and turns. Cara Hunter can write another hundred in my opinion, hope she does.

#TheWholeTruth by #CaraHunter continues the #diadamfawley series with this the fifth instalment. I had my favourite combination, both the ebook and audiobook thanks to Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! There are two storylines, the first sexual assault told from a totally different angle and the second explores the history with the main character and his wife’s attacker 18 years before. I love how the author has also developed the characters within the team. I’m totally invested.
So many twists and turns with neither story suffering in the telling of the other. If you love a twisty thriller that will keep you guessing thEn like me you’ll absolutely love this series. The books just keep getting better. I started this after work today and have done nothing else except read and listen. It’s an absolutely riveting read.

The Whole Truth is the 5th novel in the Adam Farley series. I haven’t read of the others but I suspect I will be going back and reading them as this was an excellent and very clever book. I loved the brief intro to the team at the beginning, other crime series can be ruined by the endless reminders of the characters past, this way the story flowed smoothly with the assumption you knew what had happened before. The characters were flawed and believable, the crimes were interesting, and I certainly didn’t guess the ending. Cara Hunter has created an fantastic detective and a great series of books. Thank you to #NetGalley and #viking_penguin for allowing me to review this ARC

This was another strong addition to the Adam Fawley series, and very enjoyable.
The characters were explained at the start, which was extremely helpful in remembering who was who.
The several storylines were difficult at times to keep track of, but it added several great layers to the story and kept the reader engaged. I feel this was because I was listening to the audiobook version.
I loved the podcast side story, as I am a huge fan of them anyway and this was such a good addition to give a different perspective and reiterate the ongoing story.
The narrators were all brilliant, very easy to listen to and kept me engaged throughout.

I really really enjoyed this book. It was my first book that I read by Cara Hunter and I'm surprised (and mad) to find out that no one had recommended this series to me.

The Whole Truth is brilliantly written, with short and snappy chapters turning the tension to the max. The subplots are interlaced with images that I found really engaging as a reader to scrutinise. Instead of the information being dumped on the paper as exposition, we get files and handwritten notes, extracts from a podcast and even screenshots of a WhatsApp group.

Perfect for the fans of Line of Duty and M J Aldridge books. Can't recommend it enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was a great read with a well thought-out and clever plot! This is the 5th book in the detective Fawley series, but you can definitely read this as a stand alone book. I’ve not read any of the previous books so I was pleased that there was an overview of the main characters at the start. I did sometimes get a bit lost with the characters as there are quite a lot so I liked the fact I could go back and check who was who! I was gripped by the storylines, the first main one being that of a male student accusing his female professor of misconduct and the second is the release of a rapist from prison, we learn about the back story of this through pod casts which was so effective.. The rapist was convicted by detective Fawley and he said he would get revenge on Fawley when he was released from prison.
This is the first crime/detective book I’ve read and I am certainly going to be going back to read the previous books in this series. It was full
Of twists and red herrings. I did find some of It predictable but I feel that was intentional, and then other parts of the story I was completely thrown by. The narration was well done and made it easy to listen to. I would definitely recommend this book!

This was an excellent book, although it was the fifth in the series it read as a stand alone book which is good as I haven’t read any of the others. I read this so quickly as it got under my skin and I couldn’t stop reading until I finished it. A very good crime novel. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

The whole truth by Cara Hunter
I give this book 4 stars

An attractive student. An older professor.
Think you know the story? Think again.
She has everything at stake; he has everything to lose. But one of them is lying, all the same.
DI Fawley and his team are up against the clock to figure out the truth. What they don't realise is that someone is watching.
And they have a plan to put Fawley out of action for good...

Set in Oxford this book can be read as book 5 in the series or a standalone due to a handy summary of Di Fawley and his team at the start of the book.
We have 2 different crimes taking place in this engaging storyline, and the title of the book is what it’s all about....... truth, lies or something else maybe!
Caras writing style makes it an easy to read page turner, with such a great selection of interesting and entertaining characters. Combine together a huge twist,Police interviews/procedures and a podcast about getting justice and you have a book l loved and highly recommend.A truly gripping read, lm so pleased to hear the series has been commissioned for tv!
With thanks to Netgalley,Cara Hunter and for my chance to read and review this book.

The Whole Truth is evasive in this, the fifth in a series featuring DI Adam Frawley and his team. Social media names the sexual assault case HeToo and VictHim because, in a twist, a male student, Caleb Morgan, has accused his adviser, star Professor Marina Fisher, of assault. She, of course, denies everything, but the details of this case will blur and change many times before it is solved. Meanwhile, Gavin Parrie, the infamous Roadside Rapist, has just been released from prison. A podcast gives details of the attacks on women and the case against Parrie while trying to prove him innocent. Farley’s pregnant wife Alex is following the podcast with interest because she has ties to Parrie. Muddying Farley’s investigation into the sexual assault and Alex’ suspicions of Parrie’s motives is the murder of a friend of theirs. The action picks up moving to a satisfying and suspenseful conclusion when the whole truth is finally revealed.

Although this is the fifth in an excellent series, it can be read as a standalone thriller. Cara Hunter provides a “Fawley Files” detailed list of characters before the prologue begins. The Whole Truth is character driven, well plotted and compelling. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Penguin General UK and Cara Hunter for this ARC.

Not as good as previous books but that might be me as there were two strands to follow so I had trouble separating them and what had happened in each one.

DI Adam Fawley becomes involved in a case of an eminent Oxford professor who is accused of sexual assault of a post grad student. This is further complicated by the victim's mother being a local MP. But all is not necessarily as it seems.
A murderer and rapist convicted by Fawley 20 years earlier has also just been released on licence. He vowed in court at his trial to get revenge on Fawley and his family.

Add in the fact that Fawley's wife is expecting any day and it gives you a fast paced thriller with many strands.

This is DI Adam Fawley's fifth outing but my first. I will be going back to read the others!

A great read with many twists and turns!

This is the fifth book in the Adam Fawley detective series and I couldn’t put it down!

The story picks up where book 4 left off and tells two stories - one of sexual harassment and one of a murder. Meanwhile there is a sub plot linked with Fawley’s heavily pregnant wife.

The story moves quickly and makes you want to read on - not one to start late at night!

Cara Hunter certainly knows how to make you want to read on and I cannot wait for book 6!

Another brilliant book from Cara Hunter. Really enjoyed this one. Great storylines that flow well and believable characters that make you want to keep reading about them. Highly recommend this series if you are a fan of police procedurals. You don’t need to have read any of the others to enjoy this book, but if you haven’t read them, I recommend those too. Already desperate for the next instalment and really pleased the tv rights have been sold. Thank you #netgalley.

A solid four star read. Good premise. Great characters. Enjoyed the writing style. Plenty of suspense to keep me guessing. It even had a twist that I didn’t see coming. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

I enjoyed this read however, I can’t help feeling that there were things left unfinished. Hopefully there will be more answers if there is a next instalment

Another book in the Adam Fawley series although can be read as a stand-alone.

Gripping and fast paced, easy to read will definitely read the others in the series.

This was the first Cara Hunter I’ve read. When I started reading I was worried because it’s one in a series and I haven’t read the others, but I needn’t have worried.

I felt caught up in the storyline which is a fast paced police drama whodunnit. There’s a whole ‘he said/she said’ storyline, together with a second line of enquiry about a murder.

I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish- in fact I was through the book in two days. I liked the different threads of the podcast, Twitter posts and news headlines which were woven through the story. I will definitely be reading the earlier books in the series.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I haven't read other books in this series and found it hard to get into this book partially for that reason. That was my fault but I just didn't connect with the characters .I feel really sorry that I didn't like this book, and I am glad that other readers did.
