Cara Hunter has done it again, a great read.
DI Fawley and the team are investigating an allegation made by a student that a university professor has sexually abused him. Getting to the truth is hard in a case of 'he said', she said'.
A murder of a young girl also being followed which leads to devastating consequences for the team. This a a great psychological page turner that never fails to deliver.

This was a good read but I wasn’t aware it was part of a series and I found it a bit difficult to remember people, or to know what was going on at times. There was a section at the beginning which helpfully set out the main people If you hadn’t read the previous books, but I was on the kindle and didn’t want to be flicking backwards and forwards. It was an interesting subject with the female being the accused and the male being the victim, and I did want to get to the end to see what actually happened, but it didn’t make me want to go back and read the other books.

I have read this series from the start and was so excited to receive a review copy. It was so nice to be reunited with DI Adam Fawley and his fabulous police team.

It did take me a little while to get into the book. There were 2 stories running concurrently throughout and I was unclear at first if they were linked or not but once I understood more what was happening I raced through the 2nd half.

I've always been a fan of Cara's writing style and I love the inclusion of the police interview transcripts as well as press reports and comments from the public - it adds an extra angle that I enjoy.

I really like DI Fawley's team, and I'm including his wife in that. I'd love to have any of them on my side and its a nice tight knit group that seem to look out for each other....for the most part!

I was a little unsure of one of the stories and the outcome, without giving too much away, but I still cannot wait to read the next in the series. The problem with reading this prior to publication is that now I have even longer to wait for the next one!

My many thanks to Penguin General UK via Netgalley for allowing me to read this advanced copy which I have reviewed honestly.

I've not read anything like it before. I initially found this daunting to read but it was so entrancing. Great character development, and a clear plot throughout. A fantastic contribution to the crime/thriller genre. I don't think I've ever experienced this before, but for every hour or day that wasn't spent reading this book, I was constantly thinking about it! If anything I wish it went on for longer.

Love it !! I've read all the Fawley, Cara Hunter books in order, would recommend doing this, as there are a few references to the last books, . This book was not disappointing what so ever, lots of twists and turns, to the very end.. it did keep me guessing!! and i'm very excited to see where Cara goes next !

This was my first Net Galley read and I was beyond excited as Hunter is an author I have read before so I was chuffed to get the chance to read her new book early.

This is only the second book of hers ive read in the DI Fawley series so I knew id missed a few between but despite this the book was so easy to follow. You could start here as a new reader in the series and easily understand what was going on, you are kept very up to date and in the loop without worrying about what you’ve missed, you could easily read this as a stand alone if you didn’t fancy joining in the rest of the series.

The plot moves fast and I loved this. Every few pages something happens and keeps you guessing with twists and turns to throw you off any guesses you may have about the outcome. Its very much a book of two halves, with two different stories throughout. Despite guessing the outcome of one of them, the cleverness behind it and thought put into all the details by Hunter was very well done and it all read so well.

I loved the layout and writing style, the use of imagery within the book whether that be some notated pages by a character, text in the form of an actual text message, pictures and even a dictated podcast series within the book, Hunters extremely modern approach to her writing is really credible.

My only issue with the novel is that there are quite a few characters and some of them have similar sounding or written names so sometimes I struggled to keep up with who was who but when the story really gets going its not something I found myself getting concerned with so don’t let this put you off when you start reading (although theres a wonderfully helpful character guide at the beginning to give you a heads up of who everyone is and what their paths have been up to this point).

Id definitely recommend this book, if you’re already a fan of Hunter its a must for your TBR, but even if you’re new to her writing, this book is a great one to kick off what will see you reading a lot more of her.

I waited so long for this book and it did not disappoint.
I recommend the whole of this series I love all the characters and the plots. They just get better with each book.
DCI Fawley you can not help but fall in love with him with every book as his character develops more. He is my favourite detective.
Can not wait for the next instalment.

This was my first time reading a Cara Hunter book, so it was my first introduction to the characters. But syaung that the author did a fantastic job of making the reader to still be able to understand them and the relationships.

The story itself was full of so many twists had me just wanting more evertime I came away from the book.

If you like crime and thriller this is one for you. Set in the UK which is always nice to see.

Relevant topics addressed in the story and do in a way that you felt like you where watching a documentary of true events. Wonderful writing.

Complex and twisted read. Two storylines intertwined with interesting characters some good some bad and lots of misdirection.

I liked this book quite a bit, though it was confusing at times, a lot of characters and many with similar names and sometimes she would jump from one crime to the next. Despite that it was an interesting police procedural with multiple story lines

You've really got to hand it to Cara Hunter. She gets better every time and she never lets you down. take this premise which is differnt to her other ones - that edginess for example of setting a sexual assault crime in a school. This time however, it's not the 'usual' one sided situation but a female teacher accused of attacking a male student. It all gets very complicated as it has a personal affect on the central police officer on the case.

Better than your average police procedural. I could see this as a telly series.

Another fantastic read featuring DI Adam Fawley. Fast paced and riveting. I was glued to the book from the first page.

The Whole Truth is another crime thriller in the D.I. Adam Farley series, at work he has his job cut out for him investigating an accusation of sexual assault of an Oxford student, a body thrown off a railway bridge and a stalker possibly at large. With his wife now heavily pregnant with high blood pressure he has much to deal with.
There is a lot happening in this book and initially I found it a little harder to become involved in the story than usual but as I continued all threads came together nicely. Adam is going through a tough time and without giving away any spoilers it becomes much worse for him. His team remain supportive, but there are other police colleagues one in particular who is a downright nasty character.
There are pages where screen shots of mobile phone messages are shown and also some of notes, unfortunately on my kindle these were impossible to read so distracted from the story and to be honest I’m not sure that they served any purpose, or perhaps they did but not to me!
An entertaining read with some good twists.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

Absolutely love this series of books featuring DI Adam Fawley. Once again Cara Hunter knows how to get your attention. This latest in the series does not disappoint and is a welcome addition to an already fantastic series. Full of twists and turns, this book, like the rest has you gripped from the first page to the last. 5 stars all the way. I look forward to the next in the series.

The Whole Truth by Cara Hunter
As a big fan of this author, and the DI Adam Fawley series, I was delighted to get my hands on this book. It is every bit as good as the rest of the series. I flew through the pages just dying to know where the story was going.
As much as I read books out of sequence in series at times, and while this book would standalone, its definitely worth reading these in order as lots of the storyline does carry over.
I loved that they give you a reminder of each character at the beginning of the book, it really helps you dive straight back in. I thought I knew where the storyline was going and was shocked a few times.
A brilliant addition to the series.

This is one of many in this series of books I have read. Great plot with twists you do not see coming. You do need to Concentrate as there are so many characters I often found myself looking back to remember who they were. A great read nonetheless and would love to read more in this series

Read as a stand-alone not having read any of the previous books in this series it helped to have the list of characters at the front of the book to get up to speed early.
I have to say while I did enjoy this book it was spoiled for me by the inaccurate Police procedures. Suspected Police officers are not interviewed by an officer of the same rank and definitely not by someone of a lower rank. This could have been addressed by the author increasing the rank of the interviewing officer(s) without affecting the story dramatically.
My thanks to NetGalley and Penquin for this chance to write an unbiased review.
