First things first i would like to thank netgalley for the ecopy of the book.
When I first saw the book I knew it was going to be a whirlwind experience, I have not had the chance to make it around to Disney World or Disney Land But I have heard of all the wonderous food that the parks had to offer. While flipping through the pages I became ecstatic to begin cooking and trying them out it was a wonderful time to spend with the family and friends we had a blast cooking up come magic and needless to say the recipes live to the hype. I did have to stock on some supplies as mickey mouse waffle iron, cookie cutters as such to feel the full experience whoever I feel like they are not necessary as the recipes speak for themselves.
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
The unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook is a mouthwatering cookbook full of delicious treats Disney fans will love.
I've never visited Disney land in America only the one in Paris, but the food (even though it sounds unhealthy if you ate it a lot) looks fantastic in this book especially for children.
I just wish there were more photos within the book as a photo to accompany each recipe would have been fantastic.
This book is the PERFECT book for any Disney fan. It seriously included all of my favorite Disney recipes. From the Grey Stuff to a Ronto Wrap to the mac and cheese hotdogs I love so much, it really encompassed everything. I love that it was clear to follow, had images, and really offered clear instructions. I love that it had recipes too from both coasts! If you are a Disney fan, I highly recommend this book to fill that craving for Disney foods.
Such a lovely book!
This is a food "love letter" to Disney Parks.
It has details about the parks, (literally) puts the recipes on each park's map and delves a little into the significance and innovations of food for these specific entertainment places in the big Disney business.
This book is an adorable collection of fun, sweet and sour recipes, colorful and delightful. Some are easy to make, some take more time and skill, but they all seem perfect for parties, to enchant little ones and adults. The only think I would have wished for - more photos to show the final product.
More than a simple cook book, you can feel the author's love for Disney's parks and their food that had such an impact on her childhood and adolescence. For this only the book is a gem, a true work of passion.
It's a great book to have in your collection to try something new and an absolutely perfect gift for any Disney parks' fan.
I loooove this book. The fact that I have recipes to some of my favorite eats and drinks from Disney Parks is freaking incredible. I also like that there are some learning points about some of the different treats. I can’t wait to try the things I’ve deny myself in the past. If you’re a Disney Park fan like me and like the different treats or just looking for some new dishes and drinks to try here is a great place to start.
What a perfect time for this cookbook to come out! With Disneyland remaining closed and some park visitors not feeling safe visiting Disney World yet, this is a great time to make some of these recipes at home for a taste of the parks. I ended up purchasing a personal copy of this book immediately because there were so many recipes I'd like to try.
Great for anyone who loves Disney! All of the recipes look delicious, and I love the stories that go with them
I have never been to Disney before because I live in Australia so I was really excited when I found The Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook. I enjoyed the background on the different parks, the list of essential items that are needed and the conversion charts which I thought were helpful.
I like how all of the recipes are separated into the different Disney parks for example Epcot and Magic Kingdom. The majority of the recipes are sweet but there are some savoy choices.
My family are Disney fans. We visit Disneyland and Disney World often, and have been to the park in Japan a number of times as well. One thing we love to do when planning out our day is planning out our food! Each of us have our favorite snacks, restaurants, snack bars, and places to relax so I was very excited to look through this. The introduction is thorough and gives a history of food in the parks, from Walt down to Dole Whip and the colored milks. Scattered throughout are other bits of trivia that Disney fans will enjoy.
The book is divided into chapters based on the parks and when they opened. There are lots of famous recipes to choose from, like beignets and churros and the dole whip-things that have been Disney staples for decades, to the most recent offerings at the newly opened Star Wars-Galaxy’s Edge and Pandora. I will say that the majority of the recipes are for sweets like cookies, churros, and cupcakes. I was hoping there would be more main dish type recipes.
For the most part, the recipes are straight forward and seem pretty simple. I do agree with another reviewer that suggested more photos! A recipe book is nothing without photos and the few that were included did whet my appetite for more. This is a no brainer for any fan of Disney parks, and sure to please Mickey fans both young and old.
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
As someone living in Australia, visiting Disney is a pipe dream for many of us, myself included. So I jumped at the chance to review this book.
The layout is fun and friendly, with a definite Disney, feel to it. There’s a map included, which gives non-visitors like me a good indication of where everything is. As the author lives in Anaheim and knows the park by heart, I would have loved to see photos from her experiences with the food and park, to put the reader in her shoes.
I would have loved pictures of each recipe. On the bottom of half pages, or in a collage with names. Seeing a finished product helps many of us attempting recipes to make sure we got it right.
I liked the appliance/utensil list, but not everyone has the luxury of owning multiple appliances, alternative methods would be a great addition to this. Adding in alternate cooking instructions would be a huge bonus. Oven-baked instead of fried for example.
I appreciated the conversions, we run on a metric system here in Australia, but I had to keep scrolling to the list to make sense of the recipe in my mind. Time would be saved for the reader if the conversions were included in each recipe. Especially F° to C°.
There were a decent number of recipes that appeal to me, which I intend to try, and I’m into variations, so the recipes that include mix it up ideas appeal to me a lot.
There’s something in this book for everyone. I have a family who loves Star Wars, and I like to cook so themed food gifts are a bonus. This also caters to a variety of tastes and food preferences. It builds a picture with anecdotes and fun facts about the world of Disney and history.
This is a fantastic resource for anyone who wants a taste of Disney without the travel (though the ambiance would make it a more immersive experience, maybe with a Disney related candle), and is great for themed birthdays for young and not so young, Disney movie nights, charity parties and food-related gifts. But, cooking up a Disney feast for fun is appealing too.
I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest, voluntary review. All opinions are my own.
What an amazing cookbook! Full of wonderful recipes from the Disney Parks for you to recreate and enjoy at home.
The format of the book is really interesting - part one is an introduction to the book and the disney parks together with useful tools and equipment that will make preparing these recipes a breeze at home. The second part of the book focuses on the recipes. The recipe section is then broken down into what parks they would be found in.
Each recipe begins by telling you a bit about the item. The ingredients are clearly listed along with how many the recipe will serve. The method is broken down into a numbered list, making it easy for novices and experienced cooks to follow. Some recipes include a photograph of the finished item and some interesting facts about the recipe or technique used. The pages are all numbered and the book contains both a contents and index page, making it easy to find the recipe you are looking for. There is also a conversion chart at the back of the book which is very handy to have if needed.
The only thing I would change with this book is to include a photo of each item, as I love to see what the recipe should look like once finished, especially if it is sometime I have never cooked before. However, this is a personal preference, and would not prevent me from purchasing this wonderful cookbook.
This cookbook would be ideal for all ages, and would make a great gift for disney fans.
I was so excited about this cookbook and I was not disappointed! Ashley Craft brings an array of various disney recipes, but the book is formatted in a way that all the recipes are done by the location of what Disneypark you can actually get the yummy food from. So, FUN! I can't wait to try out the dole whip and churros. If you are a Disney fan you must grab this book.
A great book of copycat recipes for favorite items from the Disney Parks! The book includes some history on each of the parks, and then recipes are broken into chapters by park, along with a map showing where they can be found. There are some full color photos, maybe for around a third of the recipes - I wish there were more. Because the book is unauthorized, the recipes are the author's best attempt at recreating the items. This would be a great gift for any Disney Park lovers.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Easily one of my favorite cookbooks this year. Everyone has a favorite memory of Disneyland or Disneyworld and it often includes a special treat you shared with friends and family that is not available outside the parks. Now you can make your own at home. Easy to follow recipes using everyday ingredients will make you the queen of your own magical kingdom.
Omg I love Disney. I even worked at Disney when I lived in Florida. I’ve had my fair share of Disney food, so when this book came up to review on NetGalley I jumped at the chance. I am so excited to try these recipes, actually I couldn’t wait and have a pan of brownie bites in the oven now! It smells so good! There’s so many great familiar recipes in this book it will be a family favorite for sure!

5 mice!!! Because its Disney! Get it?
The Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook is essential for all Disney lovers and especially those who have been to Disneyworld and need their Dole Whip fix during lockdown!
The book starts off with some history about each of the parks (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom etc). And what cooking/baking tools you will need throughout the book. The book is then split up into chapters covering each park separately; so if you know what park has your favourite treat, you can go straight to that chapter.
The instructions are clear and concise and the pictures are beautiful and obviously not what any of mine will look like. It is very up to date, even including the blue and green milk from the new Galaxy's Edge at Holywood Studios. It has both sweet and savoury dishes and even has a recipe for the grey stuff (its delicious, don't believe me ask the dishes!)
I cannot wait to moving my way through each of these recipes and having some nostalgia at home!
Release date is November 10th and I am adding this immediately to my wishlist as I need a physical copy!
Thank you to @netgalley and @adams_media for my ARC in exchange for an honest review
I am thrilled to be able to try out these amazing recipes!! So far, each one that I have made has been a hit with everyone who has tasted it!
In a year where a trip to Disney is not really an option, this book gave me all the Disney vibes! I can't wait to make some of these recipes, especially the Dole Whip!
What an excellent Cookbook this is for both Disney and non-Disney fans alike! The recipes are wonderful and it is well laid out in the design of the composition of the book, overall. I can see this being a wonderful "gift book" for Christmas because it is sure to bring a smile to many faces! Thank you so much for the opportunity to preview this before the release! I will be referencing this for many meals to come!
"The Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook" by Ashley Craft transported me to the happiest place on Earth via a new collection of Disney inspired recipes. I enjoyed this cookbook and was so excited to flip through the pages and see so many familiar iconic Disney staples! From the famous "Turkey Leg" to the delicious "Dole Whip" all of my favorites were included in this book. One of the things that was a little disappointing was that I needed to get some additional equipment in my kitchen in order to follow these recipes. An ice cream machine isn't necessarily something that every person will have on hand in their kitchen. Overall, I enjoyed this cookbook but wish it was a bit more accessible.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
