This cookbook has the usual " what this button does " chapter, and the review of functions ( sautés, yogurt, pressure and so on ), also a list of some accessories you might want to have.
What this book has is recipes you ACTUALLY make in the Instant Pot. So many cookbooks have the instant pot recipes finish in the oven or have you cooking other ingredients on the stove top and then adding to the finished instant pot food.
It also sports recipes for Breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers, desserts and soup..
and actual recipes you could make like cheeseburger macaroni, meatballs, cheese dips and so much more,
AND they really are five ingredients...
I think you will like this one
Every new Instant Pot owner needs this cookbook! Not only full of mouthwatering, simple recipes, The "I Love My Instant Pot®" 5-Ingredient Recipe Book” is a informational, easy to understand guide to using the Instant Pot.
The “Cooking with an Instant Pot” section is much more detailed than the instructions that come packed with the appliance. Author Michelle Fagone explains the function buttons so that every user can understand. She describes the main use of each button and also provides timing variations. If you are new to Instant Pot cooking, you’ll feel so much more confident after you read this section. She also lists the accessories you’ll need and the kitchen staples you should have on hand. Now come the recipes!
Organized by meal type for easy reference, the cookbook begins with Breakfasts.Who knew you can hard boil eggs in six minutes? I do now! And a crustless quiche in under 20 minutes? My favorites in the Soups, Stews and Chili section are the chicken, and vegetable broths. In 40 minutes (only 10 for preparation), you’ll have broth ready to be frozen for future use. The real power of the Instant Pot is shown in the section on Beans, Rice and Grains. Spiced Lentils in less than 15 minutes? What a healthy addition to any meal! And the best news - you no longer have to soak dried beans overnight! Quick to prepare main dishes, desserts and appetizers and more complete this must have cookbook. 5 stars!
Thank you to NetGalley, Adams Media and Michelle Fagone for this ARC.
This is a fantastic Instant Pot cookbook. It has useful information on the functionality of the unit and explains each function in detail. This is helpful because I believe the Instant Pot can initially be a little intimidating. Many people remember the old version of pressure cooking and can be a little nervous when tackling this for the first time. The details contained in this book remove a great deal of the mystery surrounding Instant Pot cooking and make it more appealing.
In addition to the technical information included within, there are many, many easy recipes to follow. There are a variety of options and they include minimal ingredients, as indicated by the title. After reviewing this book, it is hard for me to pick out the recipes that appealed the most because I found so many of them to be appealing. I look forward to cooking a great deal from this cookbook.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to review it and the opinions contained within are my own.
The "I Love My Instant Pot" 5 Ingredient Recipe Book is a great book for both new and experienced Instant Pot users. There are recipes for Beef, Chicken, and Pork, but also Vegetarian, Breakfast, and Soups/Stew recipes. The book even includes recipes for Appetizers and Desserts. I've been using my Instant Pot for five years, but I still found many recipes I haven't tried before. Among them are the Cajun Red Beans, Jalapeno Popper Potato Salad, Loaded Broccoli, Steamed Asparagus with Lemon Aioli, Pork Eggroll in a Bowl, Baja Fish Street Tacos, and Sweet Potato Chili,
The dessert recipes that caught my eye are Banana Bread Pudding, Simple Lemon Cheesecake, Blueberry-Orange Quick Jam, and Peachy Crisp.
For new Instant Pot users, there is a chapter on Using your Instant Pot.
This is a good collection of Instant Pot recipes with helpful hints for new users.
I received a free copy of this book from the publishers via Netgalley. My review is voluntary.
This is perfect and just what I was looking for! I enjoy the variety of recipes, ones I wasn’t even expecting (ie. boiled peanuts!). The ingredients are easy to find and recipes are easy to follow, my only disappointment is not many photos.
The "I Love My Instant Pot®" 5-Ingredient Recipe Book by Michelle Fagone is filled with delicious looking Instant Pot recipes. I do not own an Instant Pot, but a Ninja Foodi, and the recipes convert easily. I like the categories chosen for the recipe collections, there is even a vegetarian section. It is easy to know exactly which section you want to choose. Each recipe has serving size, hands-on time, cooking time, a pantry staples list, and nutritional information. It could be clearer that the Pantry Staples are excluded from the 5 ingredient list. I have already made the hard “boiled” eggs and the tomato basil soup. All in all, this is a cookbook I will be using often!
***** I received an ARC from NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my honest review. *****
Lots of easy to make recipes and they all look very good. Not every recipe have photo and they aren't really 5 ingredients if you count water and seasonings. Overall very nice and I would recommend it. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review
I really love this cookbook, this will go into my regular rotation! I particularly liked the ravioli lasagna, as well as the late night brownies. Would definitely recommend this!
Lots of great ideas in here that we cannot wait to explore. A wonderful smorgasbord of recipes to try in the cold, dark days and weeks ahead
