Thank you Forever for my review copy.

Oh how I love Annie Raines. The Summer Cottage did not disappoint.
.
Sweet, a lil Sexy and Summer. Yes, please.
.
Annie brings us to Somerset Lake for her brand new series. This charming lakeside town is the most wonderful place to get lost in for a day. Jake and Trisha and let’s be honest, Petey stole my heart. I can’t wait to visit with them in the next book. The lake backdrop is absolutely delightful. Add in the new characters and I’m ready to move in. For real....where can I put my bag ♥️.
.
If you love sweet, cozy Romance....don’t miss this one.

This is a sweet romance and would make a good summer beach read. I did love the small town setting and all the quirky residents. This is a town that gathers together with music and dancing just to watch sunsets which I thought was wonderful. Small town life at its best

It’s always a joy to read a book by this author, and this first book in her new series titled, Somerset Lake, was sweet, touching and wonderful.
After her ex-husband, a financial advisor that embezzled his clients, was sent to prison , Trisha Langly and her young son Petey needed a place that felt safe with people that didn’t know about their past or would judge them .
When the property manager’s position of a quaint group of beach cottage rentals in Somerset Lake is offered , it was the perfect place for a new start.
Jake Fletcher, a lawyer and grandson of Vi, the owner of the cottage community has come to not only visit his grandmother on his way to his new life in Florida, but also to check up on her and the property. Property that the family wants to sell and have Vi move away from the home that has been hers for decades.
Neither Jake or Trisha realized that from the moment they met, their lives would change forever.
But what happens when the trust is broken and the unexpected happens? What happens when the heart of one is healed while the other person’s is broken?
I loved a couple of quotes from the author.
“Home is more about a feeling….about feeling loved.”
“Feeling safe is also about being free to just be you…”
This is a story that will touch your hearts, and leave you wanting to spend time in Somerset Lake.

We met Trisha in the Sweetwater Springs series, as she decided to move to Somerset Lake. Somerset Lake sounds like an amazing small town. On Friday nights in the summer, the whole town gathers for Sunset Over Somerset with music and dancing under the stars. And the church service on Sunday is outdoors, too. The community is welcoming and has a bunch of quirky traditions. And there's a romance novel book club at the local independent bookstore. This lake is the perfect setting for a new series.

Trisha moved to Somerset Lake with her son Petey to leave behind her ex-husband's reputation as an embezzler. Jake headed home to Somerset Lake for a month to convince his grandmother Vi to sell the cottages she can no longer manage on her own. But Vi has already hired Trisha to manage them. Jake and Trisha are both genuine, good people, torn over what is the right thing to do for those they love.

This book has all the sweet romance, gorgeous lake setting, and beautiful evenings I could want. Plus Jake's Labrador Bailey is a charmer. Here's to a new series featuring, "strong, independent, smart, beautiful, book-loving women."

Thank you to Forever and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Start to a new series, this is a sweet romance. Trisha and her son Petey are starting over and she's gotten a new job managing rental cottages. Her ex-husband is a financial planner that skimmed off his client's investments and is in jail now. This books follows Trisha's story as she cares for the cottages and manages to find her way in a new town. Her next door neighbor, Jake, helps! Jake is the grandson of the cottage's owner. He's in town trying to convince his grandma to sell and move to FL to be with family, but soon changes his mind after reliving past memories.

There are a bunch of fun characters in this book, I'm glad it's going to be a series! Will look forward to reading more of their stories.

Thanks to NetGalley for a digital ARC in return for my review.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Trish is the new manager at somerset cottages. She likes her new boss, but is not overjoyed to meet their grandson Jake. As the summer progresses her and get son begin to spend more time with Jake. I enjoyed the chemistry between Trish and Jake.

It is so refreshing to read a book by Annie Rains! She can describe surroundings and people so well you feel like you’re right there with friends and you know how the area looks. I love the idea of an outside church service, as well as the town’s weekly Friday get-together for the locals. This is a new series, and you won’t go wrong if you start reading it now. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.

Sweet, wholesome romance. I am new to the author, but this is a new series featuring a crossover character from her previous series of Sweetwater Springs. Trisha and her eight year old son Petey move into a lake front cottage. She is hired to restore and manage several beach rentals. Trisha is also trying to start over after a swindling scandal has put her now ex-husband is prison. Jake is a lawyer and the grandson of the property owner. He comes for a visit and to convince his Grandmother Vi to sell the property and relocate to Florida.

Jake and Trisha meet and sparks fly. He helps introduce her to his boyhood friends and town. He also helps renovate his grandmothers property. A little time is spent introducing new female friends at bookclub who I assume will be featured in future books in the "Somerset Lake' series. Both main characters are kind and attraction is quick but trust is an issue. Petey comes off as more mature than most 8 year olds I know, but he wasn't annoying. This is for people who enjoy good characters, little angst and want clean wholesome reads. I will look for future books in the series. Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an ARC ebook in exchange for a honest review.

I received an advance copy of, The Summer Cottage, by Anne Rains. This book was ok, if a little boring. I could not get into the characters.

I am a huge fan of Annie Rains Sweetwater Springs series, so I was very excited that this new series begins with a character from Sweetwater that moved to Somerset Lake! Trisha and Petey are great characters that I already loved from Sweetwater, although you don’t need to be familiar with them to read or enjoy this book, and I loved learning more about them and watching them overcome their struggles. Jake is a great character and he is the perfect person to pair up with Trisha. I love the setting of Somerset Lake and all of the side characters that were introduced in this book. I cannot wait to visit this town and these characters again! This is my honest review of an ARC I received from netgalley.

This was a nice sweet story and I think it’s the first one I’ve read by this author. It’s a light refreshing story, perfect for the beach.
It takes place in a quaint sounding beach cottage community. Trisha and her son are starting over here. Jake returns to his hometown and runs into Trisha early one morning. Each has a few secrets to share.
I enjoyed the story and look forward to more in the series.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the early copy
