As a birth and postpartum professional I was so glad to see this book! This topic is not discussed enough, but more people need to start talking about pelvic floor health. This is a well written guide with good and practical information.

As a healthcare provider, I cannot emphasize enough, how important your pelvic floor is to your daily life and especially as we age.

If you have lady parts and/or if you have ever had a baby... you know that your pelvic floor is SUPER important before, during, and after pregnancy. In my opinion, rehabbing the pelvic floor should be an utter necessity after birth.

This book is not to exclude men, as they have a pelvic floor as well and could benefit from some of the information and exercises as well.

The author provides us with common issues related to the pelvic floor along with much-needed anatomy lessons, common treatments, and simple home exercise solutions that may help. Kim gives us real and detailed information on what can be embarrassing to talk about problems and relays it in such a way that is kind and genuine. She also provides information on helpful and harmful exercises, proper technique, and when to seek more professional help.

As a woman who has had two large babies and as a healthcare provider I cannot stress enough how important this topic is. I highly recommend this book for any and all.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Your Pelvic Floor is a book all women (and men if they want as they have a pelvic floor too) should read at some point in their adult life.
This book is super informative and teaches us about the pelvis, pelvis issues, treatments available, exercises and so much more!
So many women suffer with problems such as prolapse and incontinence especially later in life or after pregnancy, and so many of these women are too embarrassed to go to a doctor or think its normal. Books like this should be promoted and recommended to women across the world to seek help and advise as well as getting reassurance that they are not alone and this happens to a huge percent of the population.
I loved the exercises shown in this book and found them easy to do.
Kim also stresses caution with use of this book and encourages the reader to seek medical advise to get a proper diagnosis and not just diagnosed ourselves.
I never knew certain exercises can weaken or damage our pelvic floor such as running and gymnastic, so I found that very interesting to learn about too.

---A Pelvic Health Education AND Solutions---

I received an advanced review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley, and here are my thoughts.

With so many women and men suffering from problems originating in the pelvic region and so few good sources of information, this book is a standout and practically a must-have for anyone who is either experiencing issues of urinary or faecal incontinence, back pain, pelvic pain, pain from sex, vaginal wind, organ prolapse OR someone who treats people with these issues or is a physical fitness trainer or physical rehab professional.

From understanding healthy pelvic function and anatomy to pelvic floor "retraining" exercises, this book will be a blessing to many. It clearly and compassionately educates the reader on how to heal themselves from common physical problems that are often shrouded in embarrassment and shame.

How freeing to know that issues that are commonly assumed to be "unfixable" and "a normal part of aging" can be resolved by following the exercises and practices that are clearing described in this book.

The author, Kim Vopni, deserves 10 Gold Stars for this book!!!

If you or a loved one has any of the issues mentioned, do not delay in getting this book. Again, this book is highly recommended for not only those who have pelvic problems, but also anyone who is interested in whole body health and physical fitness.

This was a nice introduction to this body part and the issues that it may arise.
It features various exercises, details about many problems and ideas about how to approach them. It is a book especially useful for women going through a body transformation like pregnancy or menopause. I liked its holistic approach and the focus on prevention, also featuring a lot of ideas about how exercise can help or not with pelvic floor issues.

This is an informative book about pelvic floor health. It provides clear direction on what you can do to improve this important area. It's well researched and thorough. Likely every woman should read this as they trip over the age of 30 or give birth. There is so much that we don't know about a critical part of our bodies. It covers what is normal and what needs treatment. It's like having an expert in your pocket.

This book was so incredibly helpful to me as I have pelvic floor dysfunction. I didn't know there were treatments such as medicines and physical therapy to treat the disorders associated with pelvic floor dysfunction. I will definitely be buying this book upon release because it is so important to me. I am extremely grateful to Kim Vopni for writing this book.

Great book on problems that go unsaid. 7 years before women suffer and then go for help. All the statistics. Kim Vopni does a good job of being an advocate for slef and getting help instead of bearing the pain. She is right that the awareness needs to start early and should be preventive.

This book is so empowering (and accessible and necessary)! As a women in my early 40s who has had two children I am starting to become more conscious about the health of my pelvic floor but Vopni is right, we just aren't educated properly about what it is and how it works. This is such an important issue, it's motivated me to talk to some of my colleagues at school about whether this stuff is taught and if not, why not!

#YourPelvicFloor by Kim Vopni is a must have health reference book for all women. This health guide covers everything from the anatomy of the pelvis, to the different pelvis issues and the history of remedies until our modern times. She addresses pelvic floor issues such as urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. She also described several exercise and lifestyle changes that we can make to retrain and train our pelvic floor. I love that she cautions us and advises us to see a specialist to properly diagnose and help us resolve the issues. She also cautions us with our choices of exercise that can lead to pelvic floor issues.

Her references to yoga and Pilates and about moving our body throughout the day while being mindful of our breath fits right into the lifestyle I am already practicing today. I am looking forward to get my self together and start these exercises and make it a routine like she says as simple as brushing your teeth everyday.

This book is jam packed with information and has relevant references and material. I have received an Kindle copy of this book, but I find the temporary PDF more functional with respect to reading and the illustrations. So I would highly recommend to get your own paper copy.

I would like to thank #Netgalley and the publisher, Watkins Publishing for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book outlines symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction and shows you how to fix them. This book is very insightful and contains a lot of information that as a woman, I was very surprised at. I thought pelvic floor information needed to be aimed at pregnant women who ladies who had given birth but I was so wrong! This book would be better as a hard copy just because the details of everything included is hard as an E-Book. Overal, very informative and I actually learnt something.

First of all, I'm really disappointed this book isn't on Goodreads. Not being able to log it there throws off my reading challenge, plus I know my followers would benefit from hearing about this book.

Second, if I wasn't already under the care of the a physical therapist for my pelvic floor issues this book would have been way over my head. The content is dense and there's a ton of information delivered. If I was hearing all this for the first time in a book, I don't think I would have understood. Because my PT has showed me models of the pelvis and put her hands on me during exercises, I'm able to visualize what the author is describing. I don't know that all readers would be able to do that.

Overall, this is an important book. The author's tone is positive and kind. I appreciate that she wrote it and how dedicated she is to improving women's quality of life through addressing pelvic floor health.

As a sufferer of pelvic floor dysfunction and pudendal neuralgia, I was excited to read this resource. However, I feel like nerve pain in the pelvis was completely ignored. The illustrations were a nice accompaniment to the text. I just wish more issues had been discussed.

I found this book very hard going, it was so full of information that it was a chore to read, it was a real struggle to get through it. I'm sure it has some useful information buried within it but it is difficult to find it.

This book while it probably has a lot of good information, isn't broken up well and is overwhelming because it is just too much information thrown at you at once. I couldn't finish it.

So informative. This book is so much more than just information on the pelvic floor, it is packed full of knowledge about women’s health and bodies. There is a ton of great information about how to strengthen your pelvic floor but more importantly what symptoms may be causing the issue and how to fix specific issues step by step to be on your way to pelvic floor recovery. Chapter 5 covers the non physical effects, such as mental health affects. This is so real and very overlooked by many health care professionals that I have encountered. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Kim Vopni for including this! This book feels like a godsend after years of struggles with pelvic floor issues.. Five stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
