Description
This book outlines symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction, and shows you how to fix them.
What is pelvic organ prolapse - which 50% of women will experience - and can it be prevented?
Urinary incontinence is treatable with physio. Women on average suffer symptoms for 7 years before going to a healthcare professional which has a huge effect on mental health.
Pelvic floor issues are often only talked about in relation to pregnancy and childbirth. This is not just a "mum issue": high impact exercise (running, HIIT, CrossFit) affect the pelvic floor. Young athletes/gymnasts who have never had children are highly likely to suffer from incontinence.
Women should not accept dysfunction as a "normal part of being a woman", but instead need to prioritize their pelvic floor health - this book shows that it is never too early and, crucially, never too late to do so.

This book is so empowering (and accessible and necessary)! As a women in my early 40s who has had two children I am starting to become more conscious about the health of my pelvic floor but Vopni is right, we just aren't educated properly about what it is and how it works. This is such an important issue, it's motivated me to talk to some of my colleagues at school about whether this stuff is taught and if not, why not!
So informative. This book is so much more than just information on the pelvic floor, it is packed full of knowledge about women’s health and bodies. There is a ton of great information about how to strengthen your pelvic floor but more importantly what symptoms may be causing the issue and how to fix specific issues step by step to be on your way to pelvic floor recovery. Chapter 5 covers the non physical effects, such as mental health affects. This is so real and very overlooked by many health care professionals that I have encountered. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Kim Vopni for including this! This book feels like a godsend after years of struggles with pelvic floor issues.. Five stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
