This book is so adorable!! I loved how Mochi could be the modern dog-version of Garfield: cute, adorable.... and always hungry!

I could see my son in a lot of those comics, so that's pretty funny too!!!

Many thanks to Andrew McNeel Publishing for the complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley.

This is a series of simple cartoons about life with Mochi the pug. I see many familiar things as I am a dog mami. Overall the book was cute, but it can also be a bit too much of a good thing. It feels repetitive at times, and would probably not feel that way if I was reading it a strip at a time.

Sweet and fluffy comic about a silly, possessive, cute pug. The art style makes everything look pudgy, friendly, and cute, and the individual comics are heartwarming and often funny. But in the aggregate it has the same effect as reading a Garfield collection - the are only so many jokes here and seeing them over and over has very diminishing returns. And I think having the collection organized by themes (food, sleep, friends, etc.) intensifies that effect. That said, Mochi and his family are super cute!

An adorable webcomic about living with your first dog. Gemma Gene does a great job of illustrating what seems to go on in our dogs' heads and how we can't stay mad when they are ornery. These quick little illustrations will remind you of situations we'd all been in with our furry family members.

Author’s life with Pug Mochi. Cute but not great. If you have a dog you may enjoy it. It repeated itself and went from fun and cute to boring and predictable. Maybe different owners with different dogs named mochi could have been shown

'Living With Mochi' by Gemma Gene is a collection of comics about a pet pug named Mochi.

Mochi has plenty of personality, at least according to this book. The chapters talk about different aspects of Mochi's life, like how he joined the family, how much he likes food and sleep and what he thinks of other family members. Mochi doesn't like walks much or going to the doctor, either.

These comics are pretty cute. I really liked the art as well.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

Fans of Gene's instagram comic about life with her pet pug Mochi will find much joy in this new graphic novel. Mochi's wonderfully expressive face graces every page as he gets into and out of funny, situations (often with help from Mamma Gemma.) Mochi is a little pug with a big personality, and Gene's book brings the cuddly curmudgeon to life in always adorable ways. A must for pug lovers of all ages, or anyone looking to spend some time with an animal friend.

A hilarious and wholesome graphic novel about the trials and tribulations of life with Mochi, a pug who is the apple of his Mami's eye. Anyone who has ever had a dog, pug or not, will immediately see their own dogs in Mochi. There were even times where Mochi reminded me of my ultra-spoiled cats. Everyone's dog is a little bit like Mochi, even if they're too big to fit in the bed. If you're in need of a smile, then definitely give Living With Mochi a read.

Serious dog lovers will enjoy this sassy collection of comics starring Mochi. Personally, I found some of the humour off-putting--but it's probably because it is a niche sense of humour. The more intense your love for your dog is, the more you will love these comics.

I picked this up because I needed some good vibes and it certainly delivered all the fluff to soothe my tired soul. I love Mochi’s carefree manner, and his philosophy on life, love and food. I thought the artist did a great job portraying this wonderful creature. I’m just happy I was able to live vicariously with my dream dog through this comic book!

This books was so adorable! I read it after getting my second covid vaccination and it just felt like a warm hug.

It’s definitely heavy on the art rather than the writing aspect, so I didn’t get much enjoyment out of it that way, but it was SO CUTE

Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this arc.
I loved Mochi SO much. I think if I lived alone I would have a dog as spoiled as him and the author is fantastic. Now that my dog is older, we spoil him so much more than before. But that was not always like it. I could relate with her parents because losing a dearest dog is heartbreaking and more if you pass his illness. But I even agree with gemma the longing to have a dog and her crazyness about him. I totally relate to it. I read it in a one sitting and laugh all the way down. So much of the situations were the funniest because its true and she could represent it all so SO well. Im actually very grateful and honored to be able to read this arc and get to know Mochi. Now I’m a follower to! Gemma: let me say to you that you are AMAZING. Im looking forward for more from you and keep this way please! I been blessed.
EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS FANTABULOUS BOOK ALRIGHT????

Gemma Gené's Living With Mochi introduces readers to her very spoilt, rolly poly pug. Gené's wish for a dog is finally fulfilled once she gets married, and her life with Mochi begins.

Mochi is clingy, stubborn and awkward (his friendship with black Lab Ben is really cute) - Gené clearly adores him. And eventually her husband and in-laws, too.

I have, of course, done the responsible thing and sent some screenshots to my boyfriend Monty so he knows what to expect if/when we get a dog someday.

The occasional pop of colour is a welcome element in Geré's work, as most of the book is in greyscale.

If you already love dogs, this is a fun quick read. The book evolved out of Gené's daily comics about Mochi, 157ofgemma. According to the blurb, she missed him so much she'd draw him on her commute (awww! Also relateable).

3/5 stars - a love letter to one cheeky pug. Perfect for dog parents and especially pug fans.

Architect-turned-cartoonist Gemma Gené brings to life her relationship with her pug Mochi in this endearing collection of illustrations that is Living With Mochi. Mochi is an omnivorous, adorable, scene-stealing star, and his parents know this about him and clearly love to celebrate it, except maybe when he steals half of the bed at night, along with a pillow and half the duvet.

Gené shares her stories of love and family, food and sleep, with whimsical illustrations that show the cute pug at his best and and at his worst. There are good days for Mochi—when he gets to eat ice cream, when he gets to snuggle with his Mami, when he gets to play with his dog friend Ben at the park. And there are the bad days for Mochi—when it’s raining, when he has to spend time alone, when he has to go to the vet (although to be fair, it doesn’t seem like that’s a great day for the vet either).

Even though Gené had been dreaming for years of a black pug, she took one look at Mochi and knew that he was the one. Mochi knew it too. And then he threw up on her. (He vomits easily, especially when there is a change in his environment.)

Living With Mochi is a realistic portrayal of life with a beloved pet. There are boundary issues, they beg you for food (their own as well as yours), they sit on your lap as well as your laptop, they sleep on your feet or your head or your face. (I may know a little about this type of relationship. He’s an orange cat with all the cuteness, but the way he rules our household is very much like how Mochi rules his.) But isn’t that what pet ownership is all about? The love that warms your heart and heals you from the pain and indignities of life?

Living With Mochi is a celebration of the love we share with our pets and the light they bring to our lives. This charming book is a perfect gift for pug lovers especially, but all pet lovers can relate to these stories. And Mochi really is cute. He will steal your heart, just like he did Gené’s.

Egalleys for Living with Mochi were provided by Andrews McMeel Publishing through NetGalley, with many thanks.

These book has an adorable cover. I am not a dog owner but understood the jokes in this book from exposure to other peoples dogs and their stories of dog ownership. Cute story.
