4.5 stars! This book hooked me in right from the start. There was a lot going on at once but I thought it all tied together in the end. I was definitely surprised a few times throughout the book. I loved both the book and audiobook. I’d say this was a true page turner. Highly recommend!

I went into this one blind and I'm so glad I did! This story was so addicting. It's full of twists, turns, and red herrings. Just when you think you know what's going on, the story takes another turn. You never know who is a good person or who could be bad. Everyone is suspect.

At first I didn't love any of the characters, but I ended up liking most of them!!

Did I figure some of this story out? Yes.
But I also flew through it and thoroughly enjoyed it: I also really liked the ending and how it wrapped up.

Overall, I give this 4 stars and it might be my favorite book of this author duo so far!! Highly recommend!

Avery Chambers has a method for fixing her clients in ten sessions. It's what got her described as "DCs maverick therapist" and what cost her her professional license...but she still has clients and still believes in her unusual techniques. Marisa and Matthew are trying to get past Marissa's infidelity, hopeful that a series of appointments with Avery will save their marriage.

Although the book's pace is slow, the gradually unfolding plot was intriguing enough to keep me turning pages. It's obvious that something is wrong and that things are going to go bad, but not where the danger is coming from. I didn't dislike the book, but I didn't enjoy it as much as some of their other novels.

Marissa and Matthew are at a crossroads in their marriage after Marissa has been unfaithful. She decides the best way to tell him is in a session with their new therapist, Avery. Due to Avery’s unorthodox methods, she has recently lost her therapist license but she guarantees results. As Avery begins her treatment plan, she realizes Matthew and Marissa are not the golden couple they pretend to be as secrets begin to come to light.

I loved the multiple POVs in this domestic thriller! We get Marissa and Avery’s perspective which creates great tension and character depth. There are many red herrings littered throughout that kept me wondering how things would turn out. I loved Avery as I thought she was a fiery, intuitive and independent female protagonist. Some of her methods were definitely questionable and added flair to the plot line. I did find the big reveal a bit predictable, but overall this was a highly entertaining listen! The narrator was excellent.

Another great book from Greet Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. It kept me guessing until the very end, and up reading at night which has been hard to do lately.

The duo Hendricks - Pekkanen has become in one of my favorites during the past few years and I dare to say that this is their best book ever. Twisty, intelligent and dark, it is almost impossible to put it down until the very end. Looking forward to share my impressions with my readers.

It is my opinion that, together, these two authors can do (write) no wrong. However, I will also say of all their novels, this one was the one that least drew me in

I really enjoyed this twisty thriller. I liked how the author tied all of the storylines together although I struggled throughout the book because it felt like so many different things were going on. I definitely saw the ending coming but it was still fun to get there. I took off a star because of the last page. It was meant to be a shocking way to end the book, I’m sure, but I really didn’t like it.

I really enjoyed this book. This might be my favorite of the authors. I thought the set up was very interesting and the characters were compelling and interesting. I did not guess the ending and it kept me interested the whole way through. The premise was really interesting, and I found the approach to therapy different and engaging. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of psychological thrillers and of these authors, you will not be disappointed.

4.5 thrilling stars. With this one, the surprises just kept coming. While I figured it all out before the reveal, there was so much going on that at times I felt breathless. A wonderfully woven thriller with deceit, cunningly interwoven plotlines, plenty of characters to hate and suspect as guilty or at the very least having less than noble intentions. This author duo never disappoints!!

The Golden Couple is a twisted thriller of secrets. lies, and deceit. .When a woman cheats on her husband and begs forgiveness, can she truly be forgiven? Marissa and Matthew are a couple faced with a marriage in trouble. To the outside world, they appear to live the perfect life as a golden couple with a solid marriage and a worry free lifestyle.. That is until one does something terrible, complicated, and most likely unforgettable.

Avery is an unconventional therapist who incorporates controversial methods into her 10 Step fix all program. She is paid well, but guarantees success to her clients in just 10 structured meetings. She believes that Marissa's infidelity is a symptom of their failing marriage, but not the source. What Avery needs to be successful is honesty and full disclosure. What she is gets could not be further from the truth.

Besides trying to fix the unfixable, Avery has a story of her own. We learn as the story unfolds, that everyone has secrets, and sometimes those secrets hide even more than they appear. Along the way we are introduced to other characters with questionable morals and motives. As the reader you will experience wavering gut feelings as your suspicions continuously whirl with doubt. The ultimate twist though, is foreseeable. Not foreseeable as in solvable, but literally foreseeable. I found myself so caught up in all the confusion of story depth and turmoil of deceit that I looked right by the obvious. It's right there! That's what you will be telling yourself in the end.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read The Golden Couple in exchange for my honest thoughts and review of this book.

Except for You are Not Alone, I have read every book this duo has written. My favorite has been The Wife Between Us. I don't feel like any other book has kept me as interested as that one. This was a solid, good book, and you never quite know where it's going so that was nice. However, it was a slow start for me, but the buildup and ending was good.

Hendricks and Pekkanen do it again! I love a good mystery/thriller that keeps me guessing and The Golden Couple definitely delivers.

Marissa and Mathew are the seemingly perfect couple, so Avery is surprised when they show up at her doorstep as clients for her unconventional ten-session therapy approach. But, as Avery gets to know the Bishops, she realizes that while they may be golden on the surface, they are anything but once you start to scratch away.

Dual storylines and narratives told by both Marissa and Avery, this one had me questioning everything and trusting no one. I liked that some twists I expected never came to fruition and others really surprised me. I also really liked that the story was about so much more than just Mathew and Marissa. Avery's storyline was really unique and the authors did a great job weaving everything together.

I listened to this one via audio through Libro.FM and really enjoyed it. The narrators both did an excellent job (I always love Marin Ireland!) and their voices were quite distinct from each other which helped to paint a vivid picture of each of the women.

If you've enjoyed Hendricks and Pekkanen's prior works, this is one you have to pick up. And if you're new to these authors but enjoy a good thriller, this one will definitely be for you!

Thank you to Libro.fm, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for a copy of this novel. Post to be shared to the blog on March 8th.

A skillfully woven tapestry of a story! I loved that there were two really strong female main characters. The twists left me speechless. Appearances can definitely be deceiving.

The Duo Does it again.
I swear I love everything Sarah and Greer write.
I love their writing style and this book is no different.
This was a fast paced suspense. More family drama than Thriller. But the end was really good.
Does have a few twist and they are done the correct way. The main twist I did guess but I feel like alot of these books are alittle predictable.
But the writing and pace are solid and the story is good.

I love what Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen come up with together. If you like bonkers (in the best way) stories with twists and turns, they are the authors for you. This story of a therapist who lost her license treating a couple who are dealing with infidelity kept me on my toes. I could not put it down!

Avery Chambers is an unconventional therapist. So much so that she has lost her license. But that doesn’t stop her from taking on clients who seem to do well with her unorthodox approach to therapy. 10 sessions and you are good to go. But she has secrets. Lots of secrets.

When Marissa and Matthew Bishop arrive for their first appointment, they seem to have it all. Until Marissa reveals she is there to confess to sleeping with another man. Just the once and she wants to save her marriage. Matthew seems devastated and Marissa feels guilty. And from that first meeting, the three of them are tied together in ways no one can even imagine!

The twists and turns will leave you needing a neck brace! I am used to these two pairing up and messing with us psychologically and again they did not disappoint. I can honestly say I did not see that ending coming! But I did like it!

I really appreciate how this duo does their best to put a spin on the thriller concept. We have all read about domestic problems, but to center this one around the life of their therapist was a nice spin that made it fresh. I thought the twist was a little predictable, but overall the story drew me in and made me devour the book quickly. I always know when I see this author combination that I will be entertained!

A mind blowing thrill ride of a read! Avery is a therapist with an unusual style of treating her clients. Her clients are all equally unusual in their problems. She gets right to the heart of the matter - deception is the word of the day. But the question remains - who is deceiving whom? A smart well written novel that should be on everyone’s TBR list. Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy!
