I will always read Greer and Sarah's newest releases because I always love them - and this was no exception. Told in their usual dual POV and with a character/storyline focusing on therapy, The Golden Couple is about the seemingly perfect married couple, as they overcome fidelity with their unusual therapist and her dramatic methods.

I was definitely guessing up until the climax trying to figure out why everything felt "off" and even audibly gasped when one of the major twists occurred.

I highly recommend for anyone that loves family dramas/thrillers, great female characters and a eery feeling that something is not quite right here...

Love this writing duo!

Avery is a therapist who doesn't follow the rules, which is why Avery lost her license five months ago. Her style is more unconventional "anti-therapy".

Marissa and her hubbie, Matthew are in "free fall". She is hoping Avery can save their marriage with her ten-session fixer.

"Who are you, really, and what exactly are you up to?" This is the question you may be asking yourself, as I was, throughout the novel. We have a large cast of dubious characters that circle the wagons. Many are acting cagey and I was busy pointing fingers back and forth.

I was hoping for more of a wow moment, but for me, it was just a hmmm moment. I didn't quite get the thrills I was anticipating, although it was an entertaining ride. Maybe more of bumpy road than a fast rollercoaster.

A mixed bag, but still recommend to fans of the genre, that don't necessarily have to be blown-away to be entertained.

I absolutely have loved every single one of this author duos books that I have read so far. The whole way through this one, I was beginning to wonder where the twist was going to come from. I was suspicious of the culprit the entire time but still did not guess everything that played out. This book is one you can definitely read in one day or over the weekend. It's fast paced and pretty engaging from the beginning.

Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen have done it again. What a super story.

This story starts with a bang and doesn't let up. I was completely hooked. The plot and twists kept me guessing till the end.
The characters are well developed and the pacing of the story is top-notch.

I absolutely loved Avery and would love to read more of her. She's a badass character who is snarky, witty and sharp. I hope the authors write another book with her.

Thriller lovers look no further. Pick this book up - you will not be disappointed.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for sending a Digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

I couldn't really tell it was written by two different authors, so I suppose that means it worked out well.

I love these two. I can't help to have so much respect for the work that must be involved for two authors to write consecutively. Who wouldn't like two stories for the price of one? This book was interesting from the first chapter and keep you engaged.

Marissa and Mathew seem to have it all. Successful carriers, a wonderful son, and a marriage others long to have. Till Marissa has an affair and they seek out Avery, a fixer of sorts. This is where things start to get interesting.

Loved the book and love these two authors.

This is Such a great mystery with twists I did not see coming. I enjoyed having two narrators and seeing different points of view. This is a must read for everyone.

Not to be nosey…but have you ever gone for therapy? Perhaps a marriage counselor?

If so, I bet you never dealt with anyone as unconventional as Avery Chambers.

Actually, she can no longer call herself a therapist due to shall we say, some less than ethical ‘treatments.’

She now refers to herself as a consultant. Her newest sales shtick is she can fully treat you in only 10 sessions!

But be prepared, as mentioned she is as unorthodox in her treatments as they come!

Marissa and Matthew are a married couple…the golden couple. They’ve chosen to seek out help from Avery. In their first session, Marissa comes clean that she had a brief affair but doesn’t divulge the identity of her partner. And Avery is all over it! She’s determined to identify just who this other man is.

Secrets…secrets! 😱

Oh my, does this twisty tale take you for some loops and spins!

I had both the digital and audio versions. If you have the opportunity, the audio is the way to go. Narrated by Karissa Vacker and Marin Ireland. Both were extremely talented and did an amazing job with these characters.

A buddy read with Susanne.

This book was an interesting domestic psychological thriller but it wasn’t extraordinary. None of the characters or twists really stood out to me and there was too much going on. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for review.

I LOVE these authors!

This was a thrilling, intense ride. It kept me guessing.

I had numerous suspects the entire time, but Skip was too obvious. As time progressed, I began to see the truth through Matthew’s behaviors.

I was 100% happy with the conclusion and look forward to their next book.

4.5 golden stars

This well-written story by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen was quite the compelling ride. I’ve always wondered how dual authors work . . . does one person write one character, or do they trade off chapters? You would never know from this book!

This book features two interesting women. Avery Chambers is a therapist who has lost her license, but not all her clients! She’s created a 10-session program that will fix what ails you! Maybe not always on the up and up as evidenced by the loss of her license.

The other woman is Marissa, she’s been unfaithful to her husband, and she seeks out Avery’s help to get her husband back.

And you might be wondering, who is the Golden Couple? That would be Marissa and her husband Mathew – from outward appearances they are the golden couple. Both are good looking and successful, raising their 8-year-old son.

It was fascinating reading that kept me turning the pages. There’s also a sinister side story with Avery and a former client and I kept hoping it didn’t get too dark. I loved Avery’s rescue dog Romeo and how he was incorporated into the story.

I did not guess how this would turn out at all and I love when that happens! I will keep reading what these writers share with us!

I went into this book expecting a run of the mill estranged couple trying to mend past mistakes but the more I kept reading, there was so much more to this storyline! Secrets, lies & deception kept changing my view on the truth all the way until the surprising end! Any book that stumps me gets 5 stars!

What a thrilling and unpredictable book! This was a wild ride from start to finish, and maybe it’s because I don’t read this genre often, but I did not expect any of those plot twists! Loved it.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and netgalley for the arc.

I loved this book and couldn’t wait to get back to it every time I had to stop reading. I read their former work and enjoyed it, but I liked this one so much more! I loved that I couldn’t figure out the end before it arrived, and how fully formed all of the characters were.

The Golden Couple is a fast read psychological thriller that will have you guessing until the end!
After losing her therapist license, Avery continues as a consultant using a nontraditional 10 step session method. Marissa, married to Matthew, comes to Avery for help with her marriage after being unfaithful. As Avery helps the couple by uncovering their secrets, she realizes she may be in deeper than she thought. Avery’s own past comes to haunt her as well; it seems everyone is hiding something.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good thriller.

OMG OMG OMG. The plot twists in this book are definitely original and well executed, the characters are all a little bit jaded but you root for them as you read their tale. And that ending.... absolutely crazy.

I always enjoy another book by Hendricks and Pekkanen, their creative deception is fun to read and try to puzzle out the twists ahead of time.

This book features Marissa and Mathew Bishop, a married couple who has come to see counselor Avery Chambers. Avery's unorthodox methods are known for getting results, but they aren't always aboveboard or appreciated. The crux of the problem is that Marissa has cheated on Mathew, and she wants to bring her infidelity into the open so that they can try to heal their marriage and move forward. But certain things make it seem as if the man she slept with won't let go so easily.

The Golden Couple is very fast paced and intriguing. We alternate between Avery's and Marissa's points of view and learn that everyone in the book is harboring many secrets. I listened to the audiobook which has two narrators: Karissa Vacker for Marissa and Marin Ireland for Avery. I love Marin Ireland's narration, and she gives Avery just the right edge to her voice to make her both empowered and yet relatable. I don't know if I was supposed to like Avery's character, but I really did. Marissa, on the other hand, I found to be a bit hysterical and over the top with her actions and reactions.

I would like to say that I didn't figure out the twists ahead of time but I did figure out most of them. However, I was generally okay with that because the way things play out is what makes this book so captivating. I was totally invested in the story and found many excuses to listen to the book throughout the day in order to find out what was going to happen next.

This is another excellent psychological suspense thriller from Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, definitely pick up a copy when it releases in March 2022.

Twisty, thrilling, roller coaster of a tale that keeps the reader tied to the story and fascinated until the very end; and then the details still buzz around for hours. It’s just that kind of story. THE GOLDEN COUPLE begins with a bang and just doesn’t let up. I read it straight through and loved every minute of this convoluted tale of a couple with marital problems and the small group of people who permeate their lives. This is one fun book. I received my copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
