I liked this book, it kept my interest the entire way through. I just had a bit of a believability problem with Avery's character. I mean, what therapist is THAT involved in their clients' lives? It's like borderline stalker territory. And the Bishops don't seem to mind at all. It just struck me as a bit odd.

That being said, overall I liked the different POVs. The Acelia storyline kind of faded into the background, and when Acelia was mentioned I had to remind myself what that was all about again. The ending was so twisty it was almost confusing... but in a good way, a head-spinning kind of way!

This is fabulous domestic suspense! Well plotted, many great twists and turns, interesting characters and a fabulous ending! The dual perspective viewpoint was very well-executed and each character was well-developed. I thought the novel perhaps could have been a bit shorter but wow, what a novel and what a great ride! Sure to be a hit and deservedly so. Highly recommend!!

Thanks to St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for this advance reader cooy in exchange for an honest review.

It's been awhile since I've read a domestic suspense story, but I really enjoyed The Wife Between Us and I couldn't wait for all the twists and turns this writing duo was sure to provide. I wasn't disappointed. The story revolves around a marriage in trouble and an unconventional therapist. Few things are what they seem and teetering tower of lies are holding it all together.

Avery Chambers, a discredited therapist, promises to fix a client's problem in ten sessions. Until she gets to know the Bishops. They need help with their marriage but they have no interest in telling the truth. They reveal just enough of it to cover up the things they don't want to be discovered. And Avery has other problems and threats to worry about. Somehow it all comes together in the end with a bang.

This story makes very compelling reading. I couldn't put it down.

I really enjoyed a previous book by these authors so I was thrilled to get the chance to read this book. This book follows a now unlicensed therapist, Avery Chambers, who takes on Melissa and Matthew Bishop. There is a secret that is threatening to ruin their marriage and they have come to Avery for help.

I really did enjoy most of this book. I started off liking all of the characters but then can't really say that I enjoyed the twists at the end. I was just kind of disappointed at who the bad guy turned out to be. This was not my favorite but I would be interested in reading more from these authors.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the galley.

What a great thriller to read, the therapist angle really captured my attention and did not disappoint. Enjoyed the writing and the plot, it wasn't the typical cheesy, annoying thriller like so many others of late.

This one is full of twists and turns. So many characters with many possibilities. I knew who the culprit was about a quarter into the story, but the side storylines made this an excellent read. Grab this one or add it to your TBR list.

I've been a Sarah Pekkanen fan since she was writing solo fiction. Now that she's teamed up with Greer Hendricks they are an absolute unstoppable duo of suspense and edge of your seat storytelling. This book is just as good if not better than the ones before!

Matthew and Marissa Bishop are to everyone else a golden couple. Rich. Smart. Beautiful. They seem to have it all together. But what most dont know is the cracks are huge and starting to show. Marissa hires Avery to be their counselor. With methods so cutting edge and out of the box she's lost her license, she puts each of her clients through a series of ten sessions that promise to fix their issues by the end. While it seems like the Bishops are the only ones in the hot seat, it quickly becomes apparent that there's more than meets the eye. And more people involved than you'd ever imagine. With twists and turns in every chapter and an ending that is absolutely jaw dropping, this is an absolute must read for anyone who loves a good story. I'm just sorry you have to wait until March 8th to read it.

This book was a real page turner and difficult to put down. There are 3 main characters and it is intense. It has multiple plots all interwoven expertly together. Solid 5 stars.

I didn't love The Golden Couple quite as much as I loved Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen's previous novels, You Are Not Alone and An Anonymous Girl, but it's still a tense, twisty thriller. I think I preferred the others because I'm more drawn to thrillers about twisted friendship than a romantic couple.

Avery, a famous and successful therapist, takes on a new client, Marissa. Marissa seems to have a perfect marriage, but almost immediately confesses to cheating on her husband, Matthew. Avery promises that if the two follow all of her instructions, she can fix their marriage in 10 sessions, using her unique therapy style. But Avery's actually been struck off from some of her direct, unauthorized methods of changing her clients' lives.

Outside of sessions, she's almost a stalker, nosing into the Bishop's lives and pulling out all kinds of secrets. For their own good, I guess? I always love thrillers with hidden dysfunction and explosive secrets, so I loved reading this one, where basically everyone is lying. The Marissa and Matthew Bishop definitely look like a golden couple, but nothing's really how it seems. Avery's whole therapy system is built around prying into her clients' lives and pulling out their secrets, with no boundaries, but at the same time, Avery's own life isn't exactly smooth and aboveboard, either.

There's also a creepy secondary plot. One of Avery's previous clients was overcome with guilt about working at a giant pharmaceutical company, Acelia. Avery pries, and discovers her client is being forced to hide certain dangerous side effects of certain drugs, and Avery can't let that stand. Now Acelia is sending heavies to harass Avery to find out who the leak was.

The Golden Couple is not gory at all. One of the things I really like about Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen's books is their ability to create suspense without anything bloody or gross. I spent most of this book, like I did with their other titles, unsure who to trust and what each reveal could mean.

Without saying too much, since the whole fun of a suspense novel like this is uncovering the secrets yourself, I can at least say that I thought the book's ending was a surprising and satisfying conclusion.

Can this woman help this couple? There seems to be more issues that can be dealt with. But with careful investigating and questioning, maybe this couple can be helped.

What a concept! Try to put this book down, I dare you! The language is incredibly accessible and the storytelling has you hooked from the first pages. A classic who done it, with a twist. The book keeps you guessing and not quite sure of whom to trust.

The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen is an interesting novel about a couple going through marriage counseling told through alternating chapters by the husband, the wife, the counselor and several other pertinent characters who play important parts in the story. The story begins with the wife confessing that she had a one night stand with another man after almost 12 years of marriage.

The reader is rooting for the couple to work through this “problem “ not only because of their young son but also because they appear to be likable people.

The principle characters in the novel all have secrets and obsessions and seem to be connected to one another through cleverly crafted twists and turns - not the least of which is a murder committed 20 years ago.

At times, it is tedious reading and it seems as though it takes forever to get to a very surprising conclusion - but the wait is definitely worthwhile!

I thank NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read and review the book prior to its publication on March 8, 2022.

Marissa and Matthew Bishop are looking for help to mend some holes in their marriage. Avery Chambers is well known for her unorthodox ways. When Marissa hears from a friend that there is a therapist who can help them in 10 simple sessions, the Bishops come to Avery open and ready to try whatever it is going to take. As soon as they leave their first meeting with Avery, nothing will be the same and the consequences of their actions are slowly unraveling around them.

As soon as I had the opportunity to read the next Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen novel, I jumped at the opportunity. I think they have established themselves as masters of twisty thrillers. Leaving readers with whiplash by the end. I like that their novels are well developed and bring a reader deep into the lives of the characters. For fans of The Wife Between Us, this is a must read!

The Golden Couple was as close to perfection, as possible. This is a psychological thriller not to miss. I found the story to be multilayered, but what I learned after reading the last chapter, was that each chapter was riddled with deception and what I believed to know was just that- a belief. The couple and characters involved seem perfect on the outside, but what brews beneath is what you don’t see until it’s revealed every chapter. While the story reads like an affluent couple seeking therapy for an indiscretion, it was so much more of a twisted read- in the very best possible way!

I had high expectations for this book but it ultimately fell short. Overall it felt pretty detached. I wasn't emotionally invested in any of the characters. I wanted more about the unusual therapy process. But I could put up with all that until the end, when the reveal felt like it came out of nowhere—there was no setup for the "bad guy" and I didn't like how they turned a weirdo into a good guy... just because he didn't kill anywhere doesn't mean he wasn't overstepping boundaries. This book just felt rushed, unfinished; definitely not as soon as their previous books.

These two authors do not disappoint. Amazing book!

Avery Chambers is a well known therapist who lost her license due to her unconventional methods but one that will only take you as a client if she can fix you in 10 sessions. Marissa and Mathew Bishop seem like the perfect couple, until Marissa cheats. Marissa looks for Avery and hoper her unusual therapy methods are enough to fix her marriage. Through the ten sessions secrets are reveal, the past seemed to keep coming back and lives are put at risk.

Wow! what book! The twists and turns of this book keep you wondering what is really happening and who is doing what. This book is a thriller and a mystery. Each page, each chapter takes you deeper into a story that you had no idea was coming. It was a complete experience to read this book, get to know the characters and find the hidden stories and secrets of a golden couple.

I will be recommending this book to everyone. Can't wait for the next masterpiece.

First off I love these author's. They work so well together and create such amazing stories I haven't read one of theirs I didn't like.

I really thought from the beginning that I knew how this story was going to go. The twists were totally unexpected. I loved the back and forth chapters from the two main female characters. This book was so thrilling just like all their other books
