A true mystery and thriller, this book will keep you guessing as a a reader. The main character is a therapist and you take the journey with her through the 10 sessions that she distinctly plans out with her clients. These clients aren’t the regular kind and Avery finds herself bewildered at best at the mystery between these two. The plot twist at the end was not what I had seen coming. I would not recommend this book for teenagers, but it is not graphic or gruesome at all. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for this review.

“Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies…”

Avery Chambers will fix you in 10 sessions. That is her guarantee.

Who is this recently unlicensed therapist hired to fix? Marissa and Matthew Bishop.

Marissa recently cheated on Matthew, and desperately wants to save her marriage.

If anyone can help, Avery can.

However, as the synopsis states: “...the biggest secrets in the room are still hidden, and it’s no longer simply a marriage that’s in danger.”

I was really looking forward to the newest Hendricks/Pekkanen collaboration despite feeling a tad bit let down with the previous one. For the most part, it’s successful!

Not knowing who to root for or who is keeping secrets is a recipe for a page turner, and I couldn’t wait to pick up the book whenever I had a chance.

I predicted the twist...although I second-guessed myself a few times. A few aspects near the end were a bit questionable as different plot points tied together.

Overall, this is a fun and slick thriller best enjoyed by sitting back and going along for the ride.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Expected Publication Date: 3/8/22.

While The Golden Couple, by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, intrigued me in the beginning, with its twists and turns, it left me flat in the end. The characters, especially Marissa, who is especially lackluster, were unlikeable. So many scenarios, simultaneously happening, made the story a bit disjointed. I was also left with some unanswered questions. The end, in my opinion, was too far fetched. I do thank NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for granting me this ARC. #Netgalley, #St.Martin’sPress.

A new favorite from this amazing duo! The Golden Couple caught my attention from the start, with all the elements I look for in a domestic thriller: scandal, betrayal, lies, and secrets. Just as one mystery was solved, a new mystery was introduced. And by the end of it, we were learning the truth about things I didn’t even realize WERE mysteries. The twist was perfectly timed and caught me by surprise. It’s no surprise, as I’ve loved every book by these authors, but this was an amazing, intoxicating, and completely addictive read I had trouble putting down.

The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks is a good book with some interesting characters. While the wealthy family in a cushy neighborhood is a fairly familiar trope, I found this book to be fast-paced and quite readable. In this case, a beautiful and successful couple goes to therapy. Here the therapist herself has some issues to deal with too. Avery as the therapist seems overly intrusive into the couple's lives, at least to me. That didn't seem normal and kind of rendered her character a little unbelievable. Beyond that though, the storyline was good. I enjoyed this book and recommend it.

Really liked this. Told from switching points of view. The premise required some serious suspension of disbelief, but overall this was a compelling story with engaging characters. Bonus star for the rescue dog and cute kid.

Wow!! What a read! I did not see that big twist coming!

Matthew and Marissa Bishop are getting marriage counseling from Avery Bishop. As Avery gets to know the Bishops to help their marriage, she discovers an affair, murder, obsession, and many secrets. What you think may be the answer is not till the big reveal as to whodunit.

Great audio, good narrator ,well written story, and interesting characters. My only issue is the very end fell flat. Other than that, loved it!

My thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the arc.

Since I enjoyed Greer Hendrick’s and Sarah Pekkanen’s novel, The Wife Between Us, I decided to read The Golden Couple. I am so glad I did because it was a suspenseful and intriguing read. The plot and characters evolved and moved quickly. The story was very interesting and Avery, the disgraced therapist, was an interesting and flawed character. I agree with most of the reviews and highly recommend this book

Thanks to the authors and St. Martins Press for the advance readers copy via NetGalley

Avery is a therapist who lost her license because of unconventional methods of therapy. Marisa and Matthew sign up for ten weeks of marriage counseling after Marissa admits to having a sexual encounter with a stranger. Avery has problems of her own that she cannot address which is revealed a little at a time.

Avery gets very involved in her clients’ lives and does what it takes to find out the truth. Who is Skylar who is so angry that she turned in Avery causing her to lose her license? What is Poly’s story who works for Marissa and why is Skip so involved in the lives of Marissa and Matthew? Avery is determined to get to the bottom of it all.

All excellent characters leaving the readers what is really going on. Readers will be rapidly turning the pages trying to figure it out with some surprises along the way. Excellent story telling!

This book kept me on my toes and I found myself thinking about the storyline morning, noon and night. I would wake in the middle of the night and pick up the book to see where the story was going next. I think this is one of their best books/ stories yet!

The Golden couple, the couple that is seemingly perfect, is now attending therapy sessions. At first glance it seems like a dime a dozen story, infidelity, remorse, counseling but then again, you may have never read a book by powerhouse authors Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen. Their books are never what they seem, and are full of page turning twists, lies upon lies, deception and more.

I devoured The Golden Couple in 48 hours! I was instantly sucked in when I found out the main character was a therapist, who uses her own unique treatment plan. The “golden couple” she sees are full of secrets & lies that that make the book impossible to put down. Like all books from this pair of authors, I never saw the ending coming and was completely blown away. I will be telling everybody to read this book!

The unstoppable duo of Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen has become one of my favorite suspense thriller writers.
Their intelligent, well rounded suspenses never disappoint !
All leads are consistently covered, no question ever stays unanswered, no stone unturned. Always an extremely satisfying read.

Following three smash hits comes “the Golden Couple”.

When Mathew and Marissa Bishop walk into the office of famed unorthodox psychologist Avery Chambers they seem like a perfect IG picture with a life hurdle that needs addressing.
Nothing is ever what it seems, appearances lie !

This book follows the pattern of previous tales, with the two alternating POV of Marissa and Avery.

I find myself highly recommending this new book. What a very entertaining story.

** A huge Thanks to St Martin’s Press and Greer Hendricks for this ARC for an honest review. It has been my pleasure yet again **

I really enjoyed this book! The alternating viewpoints of Avery and Marissa kept the story moving along and made me want to keep turning the page. I loved the characters -- they each had unique personalities and it was fun getting to know them. Avery's quirky approach to her job made the discovery of the twists and turns in the story all the more interesting. I especially enjoyed how ultimately it unfolded that each character was somehow linked and the backstory of Marissa and Matthew meeting ultimately led to the final unravelling of what had and was happening. A truly delightful page turner with lots of twists and turns that keep you guessing at what is going on and how Avery and Marissa are connected. It's truly a "six degrees of separation" thriller! I'll be reading more by these authors!

This is my first thriller book after a slew of rom coms

It’s a bit awkward jumping from Avery’s POV that is in 1st person to Marissa’s POV which is in 3rd.

I feel like there’s too much going on. Marissa’s affair, whatever tf is going on with Polly, the medical company Avery is beefing with, the ex wife of one of Avery’s clients and now an investigation into Avery’s husband’s death? And none of those are answered 57% into the book. In fact there’s just more questions as we go.

In the end despite all the foreshadowing I got the killer wrong because there was a lot going on. This one is my least favorite of the books they’ve written but it was still a ride.

Great thriller. Started out slow, but with all the twists in the book, it kept getting more suspenful the further I got into it. Eventually I had to keep reading, just to figure out where it was going to end. Would highly recommend!

Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy!

Avery is a therapist, who recently lost her license due to her unconventional methods. With this, an article was published in her town. Though it did not keep patients away! Avery soon meets Marissa and Mathew, a couple looking to receive therapy. From first glances and social media stalking, Avery feels that they are the "golden couple", picture perfect. Though as the story progresses we learn that this may not be the case. The more Avery enters their lives, investigating, stalking some may say, we learn that Marissa cheated on Mathew, but Mathew has his own secrets that won't be revealed until the very end. In addition to following this story, we learn that Avery is being stalked by a large company who is upset with her reporting confidential data to a regulatory body. The main characters all feel stalked to a certain extent.

Loved this read, so many twists and turns. Highly recommend!

I could not put this book down!! The Golden Couple follows Matthew and Marissa as they meet with a counselor about their marriage. Both are holding secrets, as is their therapist, Avery. The suspense is incredible, and you are not sure what will happen until the very last chapter. This book is engrossing and captivating at every chapter.

Thank you, NetGalley, for an advanced copy of this novel.
