Tijan can do absolutely no wrong when it comes to her books. Each one always justifies my constant fan girling and “The Damaged” only cemented it more.
Bailey and Kash are freaking adorable and I love them to pieces! I love that whole yes there is a ton of drama it’s not relationship based because those two are ride or die!
But seriously… that cliffhanger *screams internally*
Oh this. Is. Good! Hawt cover alert! Phenomenal job on book two! I was sucked right in. @

What did I like? So part one started on a kidnapping attempt gone wrong and we learn tons about Bailey! So part two had me romantically mixing the name of Kash and Bailey and came up with Kailey…. I just couldn’t help myself. These two just solidify and I don’t see anything breaking up these two. The dynamic of this book though is completely action packed. Intro to the characters are done and part two… well everyone has a role to play. And they play it….
Would I recommend or buy? Read these in order because it would be weird not to. The action in the book was fabulous and the heat between Kash and Bailey (Kailey) just explosive! Five intense stars. I’m ready for part three…please!
I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review! Omg did you have to kill off !@$&$$&&!
I'm adoring this series!!
I devoured the first two books of this series so quickly, and I'm so sad that I have to wait for the next one because THAT ENDING!! I need to know what happens, you can't just leave me with an ending like that and not expect me to obsess over it!!
I am so going to read more books from this author because their writing style is just so so good, so interesting to read, so addicting and unputdownable! I also love the whole possessive male trope, especially in this books it is done SO well and I know so many will love this series. I can't wait for the last book!!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the earc in return for an honest review.
THE DAMAGED is the second book in a new and exciting NA trilogy. It has all the ingredients I’ve come to expect from a Tijan novel.
Alpha hero, rich, possessive, and dangerous
Strong and sassy heroine
Family drama
THE DAMAGED takes up where THE INSIDERS left off.
The plot thickens. Not only because Bailey finally goes to college, which brings its own set of challenges, but also because family is family and some family is better not seen or heard of.
Drama the way only Tijan can write it, peppers this story from beginning to end. It left me speechless, and excited to read the last book in this trilogy. Especially after the mind blowing ending.
I have no idea where the story goes next.
But I’m here for it all.
I’m also excited to see Bailey and Kash deepening their relationship even further. They have come so far, and seeing them so into each other, not just physically, but also to a point when they really understand each other to a degree that no other can match. It’s my favorite kind of relationships in romance.
Give me more!!!!!
I really wanted to like this one. The first book took me by surprise because of the suspense mixed with romance and the badass heroine. The maturity level and decision making skills of the characters seemed to take a nose dive in this one and I had a lot of moments where I wanted to shake the characters.
One of my favorite parts of the first book was the bond that Bailey built with her siblings and I felt like that was missing in this one. I wanted to see more of their relationship.
The last couple of chapters of this book were pretty good though. They were suspenseful and filled with action and I liked how Tijan rolled out the reveal of what happened. I'm still interested to see what happens in the third book based on how this one ended.
Steam level: 🔥🔥🔥½
⚠️: PTSD, panic attacks, violence, murder
This book picked up perfectly where we left off on the first book The Insiders,
I couldn't wait to dive in and I was absolutely not disappointed and got at lot more than I even imagined.
Kash and Bailey's relationship is so solid, I Love it!! The twists come hard and fast, the drama is fast paced, and I was pretty much engrossed and fully captivated.
I enjoy Tijan's writing and can't wait to read more from her.
I read the first book so I was excited to get an ARC of this book. I would say that you really need to read the first book to fully enjoy this one and so it is not a standalone. The romance between Bailey and Kashton was perfect this book. There is the right amount of drama, mystery, and romance. I will say that I would have liked some reminders in this book of things from the first book. It was so long ago that it came out and that I read it that I forgot some things, like why Kash’s grandfather is such a threat and why he’s after Kash. That aside, I really liked the book and hope that the next book comes out very soon.
I read the Insiders and went straight into the Damaged. The book is a quick easy read with a lot of family drama. The last page was so unexpected I had to read it multiple times but it was a fantastic twist.
The book did have an error in chapter 1. It started with saying that she had woken up to an empty bed, until she found Kash in the gym, boxing and bleeding. But then a few pages later it says he woke her up in bed that morning.
The Damaged is a solid follow-up to The Insiders, taking place right where book one left off.
The Damaged explores Kash and Bailey’s relationship as well as each other separately. There is much more plot development and story building in book two as secrets and twists are revealed.
If you loved The Insiders then you’ll love The Damaged. The only thing that disappointed me is how long I’ll have to wait for the third.
Who will come out unscathed and who will be Damaged?
I was enamored with book one so when I received an ARC of Book Two I immediately jumped in and couldn’t put it down. The plot captivated me from the first page.
Not only did my love of the strong but vulnerable heroine Bailey grow but having Kashton’s POV gave me a new book boyfriend.
Their relationship grows while both carry guilt and secrets.
The side characters are layered into the story purposely and add more depth and emotions.
The plot is intriguing, suspenseful, emotional and still has the signature tone that only Tijan can write to perfection.
The Damaged will enthrall you and the cliffhanger will leave you begging for more.
I can’t wait for Book Three!
February 8th, 2022 release
4 solid stars
Oh god! I need the last book now! That cliffhanger is killing me!
With this series, Tijan took her writing to the next level. This is the darkest or rather most dramatic series I have ever read from her.
First thing: don’t read this review if you haven’t read the prequel “The Insiders” already or you’ll be spoiled!
Reading Tijan is like coming home or comfort food to me.
I know what I’ll find and it’s just what I need when I grab one of her books.
She writes the best protective, powerful and sexy heroes.
Her heroines are usually damaged one way or another but when they meet the male MC, there is an instant “pull” that usually leads to an intense connection, an all-consuming relationship that I always drink like heady wine!
There are also lots of power play and twists and turns in her stories.
Also, relationships with the parents are usually messed up in one way or another.
The Damaged delivered to perfection! She used these favorite ingredients and wrote a story that had me so engrossed that I read it in one sitting!
It didn’t happen for a long time!
Now Bailey is living with Kash and they both are consumed by each other. When they are in the same room, you forget the world around because their drive is that intense!
Escaped from a traumatic kidnapping ordered by Quinn, Bailey will bury herself in schoolwork. She is pushing her trauma down, down, down… and we all know that’s not healthy.
All along there is Calhoun, Kash’s grandfather threat on both their lives. It’s insidious at first but skyrocketing by the end of the story. Add to that the ticking bomb that Bailey is and you have a permanent tension in the book that will have you gripping the edge of your seat, waiting for something big to happen!
And I can promise you that Tijan will give you just that!
To sweeten the deal, we get warm moment of sibling love. It was so good to see Matt have Bailey’s back, Cyclone talking animatedly AI with her and Ser finally blooming.
And I don’t want to forget Bailey’s new posse, giving her something she had never known before either: friendship.
Switching between intense chemistry, spiking tension and budding friendship, The Damaged will have you addicted and wishing that you already had the last book in the trilogy!
This is the second book in the trilogy. You do need to read the first book or you'll be a bit lost. It's an exciting book... :Lots and lots of drama. The pace is fast. and so many things happen in this book! Bailey and Kash are in danger as usual. Kash is a lot more protective than usual. It's nice to see a non-toxic relationship in relationships.... They aren't perfect but they grow closer and closer. And the ending... OMG. Can't wait for the final book.
Thanks to the publisher for providing an arc.
I don’t know how much more my heart can take but it will take it all because this trilogy is more than I expected!
Bailey and Kash’s world are imploding around them! As the darkness from her past consumes her demons lurk in the dark and want her soul! Their love is intense but will it be enough to save them in the end!
I was not expecting this book and the tears are flowing! Be prepared for anything and everything because omg Tijan just took things up a notch and I can’t wait to see what will be unleashed in the final book.
I feel speechless. The ending ends on a huge cliffhanger and the next book can’t come out soon enough. This book picks up where the first one left off. Bailey is trying to lead a normal life and attend school. Even though that’s not possible for her, after who her father is was revealed. She’s adapting to her life. While Kash is trying to get ahead of his grandfather before he does something big. You learn more about Kash’s grandfather and how evil he is in this book. There were plenty of twist, drama and suspense. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen in the next book.
Wow, I mean really there are no words other than WOW. I have read all of Tijan’s books and let me tell you the ride that I was on while reading this book? Indescribable. The ending I mean if I could put a mind blown emoji in this review so that you could understand the level of blown it was at! Well it still wouldn’t describe the level of blown away I am by this book. Okay so let me attempt to.
Kash was, simply put, just fiercer and more tender than the first. We get a better glimpse into his level of love for Bailey. Let me tell you it shoots off the page, and I am not talking about the passion I am talking about just the level of love he has for his girl. Bailey well let’s just say that I felt her fear and struggles throughout the whole book. Her level of denial and just trying to cope, was not and is to healthy in any way. But it sure made for one fantastic reading binge! That’s exactly the only way to read this book to sit down and binge it then when you have processed it all sit down and read it again. There is so much information that I think I missed some of the clues through the first frenzied read that now I am going to regain my sight and sit down and embrace the crazy that is this book.
The characters all have so much that they are dealing with that it makes your head sin throw in the new characters in Bailey’s life at school and again you think can this kid catch a break?
Matt and the Francis gang are another group of twisted feeling that you will tell yourself need more time as well. I feel like I am rambling, but yes this book is just WOW! A whole lot of WOW that I don’t think this reviews does it justice. It is a must read and yes you have to read the first book to really understand the dynamics of this family and the dangers involved. You have to know who Kash is to Bailey. You have to understand who Peter really is to his family and you have to know that book three is going to AMAZING. I can’t wait to see how Kash and Bailey recover from the happenings in this book (and no I am NOT Telling), but book 3 can not come soon enough.
This book has just hit my top 5 list for the year. Tijan never fails to make me go blind as I binge her book not able to put it down. Again WOW.
I loved the first book and now I LOVE this second book. I loved seeing Kash and Bailey together, to see Matt and Bailey’s relationship too. This book is dealing with the aftermath of the first one. It’s a bit slow but enjoy it cause then you are in for a ride! A serious bookover ride that will have you dying for more. We get to see Bailey finally going to grad school, making friends, and in a loving relationship with hottie Kash. I loved all of that and I really enjoyed seeing how much better her relationship is now with Matt now that their issues have been sorted.
Tijan is one of my go to authors and she has not disappointed me with this series at all, besides the fact that I have to wait for book three now! Any Tijan fan will love The Damaged!
This in an ARC honest review
The Damaged starts where The Insiders ended.
This book was the continued journey of how Kash is now in the public eye and his battle with his grandfather. Bailey starts her grad school and has a lot of pettiness to deal with from her classmates. She is also struggling with PTSD from both of her attempted kidnappings. The book is filled with Drama, Drama, Drama. I didn't really get the build up feel until the end of the story where some major things start to unfold. The whole time reading I just kept waiting for something more...and man do you get it at the end.
Throughout The Insiders, I kept thinking that Chase and Kash were going to end up being the same person. And when that was not revealed I was hoping to learn more about Chase in this book. No questions were answered, but there is a hint for book three.
Overall I got the feel that this book is like a typical sequel in a trilogy (book or movie); Its not as great as the first, but is definitely an important part of the story.
Holy cow! Tijan really knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Bailey is broken but almost seems stronger in this book.
Where can I find me a Kash? He’s so protective of Bailey. Their love is unstoppable.
Just like with other Tijan novels, the couple isn’t toxic. They don’t break up and get back together all the time, they fight battles together. There is not much relationship drama which is refreshing and it’s why I enjoy her books so much. Well that and the fact, all of the heros in her books can all come and marry me any day.
There’s nothing I love more than Easter eggs in books. There were a few in here, one I had to message Tijan about because my memory was messing with me.
This author never fails to dissapoint me. This story kicked all the goal posts. I very much need the next installment.

I loved this book just as much as the Insiders, if not more! I told you I could not wait to read the next book and my prayers have been answered since I was lucky enough to get offered an early copy! These books are addicting, I could not stop reading nor did I want to. I was completely immersed into the world of Bailey and Kash. The pacing was very good and I feel like I was constantly on the edge of my seat wanting to keep on reading to know what would happen next (or for the other shoe to drop). This second book is also action packed, full of emotional and family drama, just like the first book in this series. Tijan writes in a way that makes me, as a reader, feel so close to the characters and the words just flow effortlessly. We meet some new (side) characters who I also enjoyed a lot. I feel like all the characters have so many layers and it makes them complicated, but also more realistic. Kash is still dreamy and strong and does whatever he can to protect the ones he loves. Bailey still has this soft side, but can also be very strong which I love about her; she’s not just an ordinary girl. The romance is definitely on another level in this book and I loved how the relationship between Kash and Bailey further develops. And yes, they have plenty of heart-warming and heated moments. Oh and that Easter egg, I saw what you did there Tijan… And I loved it even though it was just a small reference. That ending though, such a cliffhanger I am shocked (I am not saying anything else, because no spoilers!). I just (again) can’t wait for the next/last book in this series. I have so many questions and I am curious to see how all the different characters will handle the cards they’ve been dealt and just in general how this series will be wrapped up. Definitely recommending this book, just make sure you read book one (The Insiders) first!
