I really enjoyed this book. I’ve been a huge fan of Tijan for many years! The author has such a wonderful way with words and weaving together a story that compels you to keep turning the pages! So talented! I highly recommend this book!
The Damaged what's a fantastic continuation of The Insiders! I loved how Kash and Bailey's relationship has evolved after her ordeal in the last book. What was beautiful to see was how Kash showed just how important she was to him. He would literally do anything to keep her safe and happy, even if it put his being at risk.
The only thing that I found odd about the storytelling was how the author emphasized the most minor essential supporting characters. I was distracted with who, why, and where Bailey's bodyguards were.
Otherwise, I enjoyed this book and can not wait for the last book in this trilogy.
The trouble with reviewing the second book in a suspenseful trilogy is not giving away the good stuff while still raving about why you loved the book. Such is my predicament with The Damaged, the second book in the Insiders trilogy. So what to say? Kash is opened up to us more, and his love of Bailey and his desire to protect her is epic. Bailey is going through many emotional upheavals as she begins graduate school, navigates family dynamics, and does not deal with her trauma from book one. The story is fast-paced and a page-turner. Kash and Bailey are stunning together, and I love their relationship. Bailey is such a brilliant yet unassuming girl, making her growing relationships with her brothers and sisters so much sweeter. But don't cross her--she can get you on the interwebs!
Trouble is crashing on them in the person of Kash's nefarious grandfather, and everything is a game of outsmarting your opponent. Kash is up for the task, but...
Must stop that right there; you need to read the book. Start there if you have not read the Outsider (the beginning of Kash and Bailey's story). If you have read the Outsider---Ummm, hello? What are you waiting for? Grab The Damaged TODAY!!
Action packed second installment in The Insiders series, but even more over the top and outlandish this go round. I think it's the lack of back stories on the "bad guys" that makes this borderline-ridiculous to me: what is Calhoun's motivation? What is Quinn's? We have no idea, so their actions just seem cartoonish.
I absolutely loved the first book in this series. This one just isn’t cutting it for me. The audio was not great and the storyline was hard to follow. I’m sorry but I have to DNF.
This second book had me on edge, all the twists and turns had me reading it non-stop. I loved Kash and Bailey's relationship, I do need the next one now, I need more answers! Definitely a great trilogy to read, you will find all kinds of emotions surrounding the story, the pacing is good, sometimes it went a bit slower but overall is a good pace. All this drama and mystery is going to drive you insane.

It’ll be hard to review this book without spoilers as it is the 2nd book of “The Insiders Trilogy” and it has many layers.
Bailey Hayes is the female protagonist in this tale of family drama who is suffering from PTSD and her new exposure to the general public eye!
Kashton Colello is intense as well as rich and smart ~ the whole package and the chemistry between them is there as ever the capable Tijan can ooze off the pages! But he has to contend w/her past and current circumstances bcause AGAIN family drama!
The family dynamic is complex in their ambitiousness and mercilessness thus keeping the suspense alive throughout the story.
It is a great read and I do recommend u start with to give u the chance to learn the characters. There are many characters and unless u have their background the story can bcome incoherent.
U R left salivating for the 3rd and final chapter to this tale of familial competition for wealth and power

I read this book very quickly and I hope I won’t have to wait long for the last book!
.
This started a bit after The Insiders finished. We get more of the bad guys and drama. Bailey is trying to adjust and dealing with the aftermath of what she went through in the previous book. More secrets are revealed.
.
I love how connected Kash and Bailey still are. There are a few bumps along the way but overall there is lots of trust with each other and Kash tries to do right by her. I LOVE HIM! The last book of this book was a wild ride. The last page? I was waiting for that to pop up.
Book two of The Insiders was phenomenal and I am very excited to read book three!
I loved that the trauma of book one was not glossed over but instead the author let it play out. I loved getting Kash’s POV. I especially loved that for the most part they were a solid couple throughout book two.
Plot wise the first half was a little slow but picked up quite a bit in the second half.
I will absolutely be continuing this trilogy!
Whoo Hoo!! The Damaged picks up where The Insiders left off. Such an amazing story!! Cannot wait for book 3.
4 out of 5 Stars
Thank You NetGalley for my ARC!
The Damaged is book 2 in The Insiders Trilogy. I enjoyed The Damaged and can't wait to continue with the series. I loved Bailey and Kash.
This book was absolutely mind-blowing and epic in the best way possible. From start to finish I didn’t want to stop reading. I had to know what was going to happen and how it was going to happen and what was going to happen next!
Tijan nailed this story, I loved seeing more of Kash and Bailey as a full-blown couple!! Their love reminds me so much of Sam and Mason from Tijan’s Fallen Crest Series, and Kash is the ULTIMATE alpha male.
Oh Tijan , really knows how to give me heart palpitations. 😅😂 The Damaged is the second book in the series and continues right where the first one ends. I would highly recommend you read the first because not only is it really good, but it help you understand the second better.
It’s a romantic suspense novel so you know there is going to be angst but man Kash gave me whiplash and had me swooning at the same time. I couldn’t keep up with him and I had so many questions. 😂 But I love him and Bailey so much, and it was nice to see their relationship grow.
But like I said the plot was giving me heart palpations and the bang at the end had me chunking my kindle off the bed. 😳😭 Seriously though if you hate cliffhangers like me, maybe wait till the next book comes out because I’m going to have emotional damage now until I get my hands on the next book. 😂
I can not say enough. Tijan has a way with words and this book was no exception. I couldn’t put the book down after I started.
Great second boom in the series and I can’t wait to read the next installment!
The Damaged is the second book in The Insiders trilogy. This is a sexy romantic suspense book.
This book should be read after The Insiders as it's a continuing series.
The Damaged begins about 3 weeks after the cliffhanger ending in book one. Truthfully I was a bit disappointed in this as I really wanted the story to pick up exactly where the first book left off.
In this book we get the male POV too. There are two narrators (Bailey and Kash - 1st person POVs).
Bailey is a computer genius/hacker. And I love that about her. Kash is her mega-rich alpha male boyfriend. And while I do like them as a couple. I am not the biggest fan of alpha males. But look at the cover! Also this book is extremely sexy, which isn't my preference. But I know that it will appeal to a lot of romance readers.
There were a lot of things that I enjoyed about this book. I absolutely loved the whole college element. And there were some great new characters including Melissa and Hoda. The feud with Kash's grandfather was so good! And I love getting to see Bailey interact with her mom and siblings.
The book definitely has lots of great twists. And it has another cliffhanger ending. Overall this was a really could book two. And I'm anxious to read book three.
This book has broken me and left me in total denial. I can’t believe what happened towards the end.
There are some twist and turns in this one. Matt is still the same but the relationship between Kash and Bailey burns hotter than ever. Bailey has guards all over the place and Kash’s protection and love. They are addicted to one another.
This book left me with a book hangover like I’ve never had before. Plus I still can’t believe what happened. I want more and I can’t wait for the next book. I also really want Matt’s story. I can’t wait to see what he’ll be like next.
I highly recommend this book. Book one The Insiders must be read first.
5 Brilliant Suspenseful Stars!!
The Damaged was an amazing continuation to The Insiders, and picks up right where the story left us on said book! The story and characters development is masterfully crafted, and that heart-shattering cliffhanger will break you in pieces.
I absolutely loved how amazing the story is getting as Bailey and Kash's journey continues. The romance between is two, the interaction and dynamics of all characters makes of this suspenseful thriller an unputdownable read.
The jaw-dropping plot twist at the end of this book will have you crying of sadness, wishing and screaming that the conclusion of this fabulous thrilling story was already on shelves...OMG, can't wait!!
I received an ARC form the publisher in exchange of my honest opinion.
4.25 stars--THE DAMAGED is the second instalment in Tijan’s contemporary, adult THE INSIDER’S dark, erotic romance trilogy focusing on twenty-two year old computer hacker Bailey Hayes, and fixer Kashton ‘Kash’ Colello. THE DAMAGED should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one THE INSIDERS.
NOTE: If you have not read book one, there may be spoilers in my review
SOME BACKGROUND: Weeks earlier, an attempted abduction of Bailey Hayes led to the discovery that she is the illegitimate daughter of a powerful IT billionaire, and not all is well with the new family dynamics. Bailey Hayes has a genius IQ like her estranged father, and will come to learn she has several half-siblings but the most important discovery is the love that will develop between Bailey and one-time Francis empire ‘fixer’ Kashton ‘Kash’ Colelle, a man who is more dark and dangerous than she could have ever imagined.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Bailey and Kash) THE DAMAGED picks up immediately after the events of book one wherein Bailey and Kash have become the target of another powerful businessman and crime boss. Bailey is about to attend one of the most prestigious schools for IT but the media, the students and extended family have targeted our heroine in an effort to destroy the man that she loves. While Kash struggles to protect our heroine, there is someone working behind the scenes taking aim at our story line couple. What ensues is the ongoing and growing love and relationship between Kash and Bailey, and the potential fall-out as betrayal and vengeance are about to break our heroine, possibly destroying any happiness for the foreseeable future.
Kash Colello is a force unto himself, and as such, is often taking charge when things spiral out of control. He keeps secret much of his life such that Bailey struggles with issues of trust, issues that are compounded when the fall-out takes aims at our story line heroine. Bailey is a young woman who wants to experience the life of a normal college student but things don’t always go according to plan, and at times Bailey is a little TSTL as every experience ends in danger or disaster.
THE DAMAGED is a dramatic and haunting story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, tragedy and love. The world building continues to heighten the anxiety and ongoing conflict between Kash and those who have targeted our story line hero. The premise is raw, real, gritty and edgy; the characters are powerful, unconventional, animated and impassioned; the secondary characters play a significant role in the story development; the romance is provocative and seductive, the sexual chemistry is palpable and strong. THE DAMAGED ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Wow, just wow! Addictive and unputdownable, this book kept me locked reading until the end. If you think the first installment in this series was fantastic, you haven’t seen nothing yet! There’s a constant menacing thrum all through the book, and it’s like a countdown to the moment when Bastian Calhoun makes his lethal move.
Kash is running against the clock, he’s rushing to keep ahead of his grandfather and his evil intention of destroying Kash and all he loves, especially Bailey. While we are enjoying Kash and Bailey’s romance, at the same time we are dealing with the suspense of what will happen and it makes for some addictive reading.
Bailey starts her first graduate year in Hawkins University but she’s not the same person she was when she applied. She was planning to assist as a nobody with a special brain, but now she’s Peter Francis’ daughter and Kash Colello’s girlfriend. Everyone’s sights are upon her, she needs to be surrounded by bodyguards and her cohorts in the IT department either look at her in suspicion or in jealousy. They all think she’s here because of her father.
In the home front, there are changes now that Quinn is in jail for trying to kidnap and murder Bailey. Everyone is dealing with the aftershocks and there are new nuances in the Francis household. Bailey loves her siblings completely and it’s lovely to see her interactions with them. I loved Matt Francis’ character arc in this book; in the first installment he was an immature selfish jerk, and now I loved how much he does for his sister. Truly, the characters are fascinating and some of them, like Melissa, enchanting. I loved that the author feeds the suspense in small shots while she charms us with Bailey’s life and her developing world. The pace was perfect, not too fast and not too slow although sometimes I was so desperate to find out what happens that I was guilty of skipping ahead! That’s how fascinating the book is. It’s intense, emotional, thrilling, angsty and funny in the right moments. I loved Bailey’s brain, her quirky personality, loved Kash’s intensity and alpha person, loved Matt’s imperfections that still have some growing up to do. Really, what’s not to love in this book?
We came from a cliffhanger in the first book, and then we are subjected to another cliffhanger with a huge bang. I can’t believe we still have to wait for another installment but at the same time I’m glad we have more Kash and Bailey to wait for. Awesome!
I am utterly speechless after that ending! I don’t even know what to say so I’m going to leave this short and simple if you haven’t started this series yet you absolutely need to omg there is so much going on in this book the twists and turns kept me turning page after page the hits kept coming from every direction this story definitely kept me on my toes the whole way through and THAT ENDING!!! I’m absolutely shocked and I can’t wait for book three ! This is by far my favorite read by this author that I’ve read so far and I can’t wait to see where she takes this story next !!!
