I’ll start by saying I’ve read this author before and really liked her. The cover for this book was cute and drew me in, unfortunately it just fell a little flat for me. The FMC was ok, I found her amusing. The MMC was just 1 HUGE red flag, I’m not usually one that takes much notice of that, it is, after all fiction. But his stalkery ways and just everything was creepy and made the book miss the mark for me.

Olivia Jefferson is like no other. She dresses the way she likes and doesn’t care what others think. After catching her boyfriend in a compromising situation she throws him out and worries about how she will live. Then she gets a call from a top publishing company who are interested in her travel guides. There she meets Daniel Lane who is drawn to Olivia for some unknown reason. What happens when they make a weekend arrangement? Will opposites attract or will things go badly wrong?
This book is a little different to what I usually read but one I thoroughly enjoyed. I also highly recommend it.
Thank you to the author and netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinions.

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

This has been on my NetGalley shelf for over a year, and I still haven’t picked it up. I've tried, but it just isn't for me (right now). I hope other people enjoy it more than I did.

Very sorry, but just did not like this book. Lacked character chemistry. It’s has a really nice cover though!

Aspiring author Olivia and playboy Daniel start out as an unlikely couple. They have both lost their ways emotionally. Happily they are able to help each other grow and smooth out each other's less than admirable qualities.

I feel like I've read this story before. Or seen the movie. It felt very much like a romance between two unlikely people to be attracted to one another.

I don't know. I guess the story was OK, just not my favorite.

This story starts out with Olivia reminiscing about the first time she saw Mark but it turns out that it wasn't the first time she saw him as she knew they had shared classes before, just the first time they talked. Oh but never mind, apparently Mark is not the hero as he cheats on her and she throws him out of her apartment. She would be in some money trouble but coincidentally she gets a job related call the same day. After spending some time on her outfit and makeup (I skimmed that, sorry to say) she gets to the interview and meets Daniel who has eyes the color of deep dyed jeans and gets brain freeze. He asks personal questions about her boyfriend status and talks in a suggestive manner that felt a little creepy to me, considering this was a business lunch. He is fascinated by her unfiltered dialogue and creative fashion sense.

I have enjoyed several of this author's books before but this is a little harder for me to get into. One factor is that it's written in third person and that always puts a degree of distance in there for me. And Daniel's point of view at times, and the way he thinks about women in general and Olivia in particular is a bit off-putting. He secretly copies her HR file and low key stalks her, showing up at her work in the library and on her girls' night out. When he tries out a couple of sleazy pick-up lines in order to have sex with her Olivia tells him to get lost and I cheered. But he is not capable of taking no for an answer and his plan is to get her somewhere she can't blow him off. The next day he invites her out and she just folds and agrees,, wondering what to wear. Now, she's writing a series of books for single women traveling alone and how they can be safer from creepy men... but apparently she's not taking any of her own advice. She tells him that they can meet somewhere public with people, but then she just gets into his car and lets him drive her out of town, without telling anyone who she's with and enters his house with no protest whatsoever. Barefoot, no less, so it's a bit slower to run away if necessary. (Mind you, she's got ankle boots with her at first and sneakers later) And eats the food he provides. He refuses to take her back and instead of calling a cab immediately she agrees to stay. Should he be an axe murderer or a roofie rapist she'd be like a lamb to the slaughter and I don't think she read any of her own books.. He brought her some sexy clothing to change into as a planned seduction move and tells her not to fall on the stairs and she thinks she's being treated like a goddess and agrees to be seduced.

He proposes a scheme in which they meet secretly on weekends. Daniel thinks her quirkiness would be bad PR in the press and has some sort of hang-up about Olivia being too young for him, thinking it would look bad for him to date such a young woman. I didn't know how big the age difference was at first and then I found out he's seven years older than she is. It didn't really make sense, seven years is not a big deal if she's 24. She is offended because she's always felt she's not good enough for her parents and now it seems like Daniel is ashamed of her, despite his insistent pursuit. But after a token protest, she goes along with it. Because of course she does. He's hot and rich. But if he was an ugly older man she'd think he's full of red flags. The thing is, he is in charge of the company that she wants to publish her books, and her contracts aren't signed yet, so even if she wanted to refuse his seduction attempts this would seem very coercive.

It gets better in the second half when he finds more of a hero and a lover in himself.
Steam level: when they're not having sex they're talking about it
Pet peeve: He thinks her name is minx.

I got the arc from Netgalley but it took me a while to get around to it. Which is a good thing because if I read this first I probably wouldn't have taken on the better ones that I enjoyed.

TL; DR Some of the dialogue was quite amusing but the hero was a little #metoo for my tastes.

Quite an enjoyable read. 3½ stars.

I did think things happened really fast, in all aspects of the book, I personally like things to be dragged out more and even in terms of description.

I liked the characters, loved Olivia and how she was fully herself always. This was just such a feel good part of the book. Daniel I found at times too full on and forward but it was okay.

Would definitely read more by the author.

This book was just not for me. Olivia was so hard to root for! She had the typical “I’m not like other girls” mentality, and it made her very unlikable. I also did not connect with the love interest. It felt like the only real personality trait he had was being rich. I did love the cute cover, but unfortunately, that was the only aspect of the book I really enjoyed.

This was a quick read. I liked the book. But I thought it concluded abruptly. It was a little surprising it ended where it did. But it was fine.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange e for my honest review. This was a quick, very readable romance with the classic opposites attract story line. No real surprises, but a great feel good read for those who enjoy the modern romance genre.

These two had a lot of cute, witty banter and chemistry, which was shown through the multiple, spicy scenes. The hero was a slice of yum in his possessiveness, which I always love in a main character. A solid, well written rom-com.

Olivia lands her dream job as an author, but when she meets the sexy boss she knows she’s in big trouble.

Daniel is living the life he feels obligated to. His only fun is being a rich playboy. Then he meets Olivia he considers a change.

Their relationship starts as a weekend only arrangement, but can they both live the life they want and also stay together?

⇢ I really wanted to love this one, but it was so problematic and I just can’t overlook all the issues. Besides the fact that Olivia is the typical not like other girls quirky heroine who is unaware of how literally perfect she is, she’s kind of a mean girl disguised as innocent and sweet. She finds her boyfriend is cheating and she automatically assumes the woman that he’s with in the bar isn’t smart and has “the IQ of a fart”. Her and her friends call a girl with large teeth a horse. Among other things. Daniel is actually horrible. He thinks Olivia is an idiot but she’s pretty so he’s fascinated. He basically traps her at his home which is uncomfortable. His explanation for wanting to keep her a secret is to protect her and it makes no sense.

This one wasn’t for me.

Weekend Arrangement definitely was not my cup of tea after all even though the plotline and the cover both were cute.

Weekend Arrangement is a short, steamy romance to read over a weekend. My favourite character was the heroine,Olivia an aspiring writer. I love romances about writers. A trigger warning should have been provided for sexual abuse. It was slightly disturbing to me. The romance between Olivia and Daniel was very superficial to me because it lacked meaning and all it was was sex but the ending changed that.

Thank you BooksGoSocial and Netgalley for the Advanced Reader Copy of this book. This was a honest review.

4.5 stars!

The Weekend Arrangement has a sexy, steamy storyline while seemingly keeping the book light and low-angst.

There is a quick fall to lust that seems to only build and grow throughout their weekends (and the few mid-week ‘meetings’). The book was easy to read and perfect for the beach.

Weekend Arrangement has a lot of themes going on like rich billionaire, family drama and beautiful settings. However it left me uncomfortable due to a few reasons- first would be the description of this being an older man/younger woman, it is only about 5 years so not sure why it was such a big deal. Another is it felt almost like grooming as the way it was described, maybe more alpha in nature but also almost stalker uncomfortable. It was not my favorite story but it had some good parts .

This was a cute romantic novel that was an ok read for me. Olivia and Daniel were interesting characters, but I didn’t like how possessive Daniel was and there were a lot of cliches in this book as well. Overall it was enjoyable at face value. It was a romcom book and that’s exactly what you get.

Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for an earc of this book in exchange for my honest review.
