The premise of this book was great!
The execution was a bit off…

The characters didn’t feel real which made it hard for me to connect and fully enjoy the story. And to be frank, Daniel sucked. He made me very uncomfortable. I can’t rate a book high when a character acts as he does.

It was a quick read! It just wasn’t exactly what I expected.

This book reminded me of a tame 50 shades for some reason. Olivia seemed to pride herself on being different/quirky just for the sake of shocking people. Daniel had deep rooted issues that prevented him from loving. The plot was slow at times.

No... Just no. I wish I didn't asked for this arc. Just not my cup of tea. If I could DNF this book I would. 1.5 stars.

I was really excited about the premise of this book, and was thankful to receive an ARC from #netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The description sounded like an actual rom com, and seemed like the perfect summer reading! The book really seemed to have a lot of potential but it didn’t quite connect with me. I felt the characters weren’t as well developed as they could have been and there were some questionable aspects of the relationship - frankly, it came across as toxic at times. I think with more development and less reliance on stereotypes, this would have been a lot better. Ultimately I prefer more depth to the characters when I read a romance novel, even one I see as a fun beach read.

Weekend Arrangement is a quick, page turner, romance read. Olivia is a writer and is the opposite of the button-up, charming Daniel. Daniel takes a liking to Olivia's quirky-ness. They agree to meet on the weekends but will this weekend arrangement become more? The development in the characters in well written and is perfect for readers who are wanting a page turning , spicy, romance read.

This book.... if I could unread it, I would. If you like abusive relationships, then this is the story for you. Daniel is horrible. I just don't understand how stories like these are considered romance- it's 2021, raise your standards ladies!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishing team for sharing this ARC with me!

The premise of this book is definitely a fun and flirty one however the execution fell flat for me. I wasn't in touch with the characters and the romance made me slightly uncomfortable. Daniel was not a nice guy and Olivia is set up as "not like other girls" which immediately makes her unlikeable. The characters were not fleshed out enough to make you care about them or the story.

Not for me, unfortunately.

Thank you for the advance copy to read and review.

This romance novel sees 24 year old author Olivia breaking up with her college boyfriend after finding him in a compromised stance in the pub with another woman.

Soon afterwards she gets a call to meet with a publisher who is keen on her travel guides for single female travellers to Europe.

While Olivia is there, she meets the owner, Daniel Lane, who immediately takes a liking to her quirky side. They go for lunch and soon they are bumping into each other more often than is likely.

The romance moves quickly and things hot up in descriptive language.

Unfortunately, there are some pretty creepy aspects to their relationship that made me feel uncomfortable about the balance of power.

There is a lot of talk of how “different” Olivia is to Daniel’s usual type but he “accepts her anyway”. A big part of the story is how he decides that they will see each other at weekends at his beach cottage but not during the week. Things that are trying to be “romantic” but don’t sit right. 😳📚

The premise of Weekend Arrangement sounded so fun and flirty! A young wanna-be travel writer falls for the sexy publishing CEO, it sounds like a literal rom-com. While this book had a lot of potential, it really falls short. The main characters, while likeable, don't seem properly flushed out and developed. Olivia, our female protagonist, is 'not like other girls,' she's quirky, drinks too much, is loud, etc. It left a sour feeling in my stomach how much she was portrayed this way. Daniel, her love interest, is a Walmart Christian Grey. He's possessive, jealous, condescending, and at times, almost stalkerish. Their relationship is painted out to be a healthy one when in reality, it's very toxic. I wish the characters had more development and were less extreme. in their stereotypical tendencies.

Additionally, the book really glosses over topics like rape, abuse, and loss like they're not serious topics at all. It could be incredibly triggering for someone seeing as these topics just randomly appear and aren't given proper time and dedication.

At beset, Weekend Arrangement reads like mediocre fanfiction. The characters are two-dimensional and the dialogue is not great. The main relationship feels rushed and there's really not much to it other than the physical aspects. There are some cute elements to the story, but if you're looking for a romance with some more depth and character, this is not the story for you.

Olivia is a quirky writer. Daniel is a buttoned-up, playboy business man. When their romance starts its weekends only. Is he two-timing her all along. This is a quick page-turner. Definitely recommend.

This book was just what I needed! This is a light romantic comedy that doesn't demand too much of the reader but is deliciously entertaining. I loved Olivia and her overblown quirkiness. I laughed so much at some of the interactions the two of them had. I found Daniel to be wickedly naughty whilst charming. It is a delightful romantic read and just what I needed after all the doom and gloom of the past year!

This was a cute, adorable book! I have been wanting to read this for a while now!
The writing was great and I connected with the characters.
Character development I really liked! Sweet, and cute!
What I didn't like..... Like said above the pacing honestly. I felt there could have been more!
But overall I enjoyed it, its a fun, adorable, enjoyable read!

I can't thank NetGalley, BooksGoSocial and Author for this advanced ebook!

This book is confusing. First, the language used CLEARLY says British author and UK culture, but the text keeps mentioning states and traveling to Ohio. Very off-balance.

Second, Daniel may have good intentions, but his behavior is right up the with stalker-y billionaire Christian Grey. Just happens to be at her apartment when the ex is there? Follows her to Italy? Takes her to his cottage and refuses to take her home, forcing her to spend the night? Not cool, Mr. Lane. We don't care how rich and sexy you are.

Unfortunately I could not get into this romance. While I really liked Olivia's personality that felt so genuine and quirky, Daniel seemed so superficial and egotistical. Their conversations seemed unnatural and forced. The authors writing just didn't bring the characters to life for me.
