"Return to Summer" by Krista Harper is a cute romance story.

Summer Murdock is realtor at Manhattan. Thirty years old and single. But that does noes bother her. Summer loves her life. However, she now has to sell her grandmother's house in Havila Springs. Summer lived there for a sport period of time back in high school, but she had no intend to return back there. Now, she has to go back. Yet, there was this boy. Graison Wells. He broke Summers' heart. Summer is on one mission: not to run into anyone from her past.

Graison Wells has one regret in his life. And that is Summer. Summer Murdock. His first love, but he let her go. Now, Graison is raising a daughter and has his buisness.

This is such a fun and cute read.

The book is somewhat fast paced, but in a good way. We learn about the characters, their lives, their situations and so forth, but there is also enough drama and action for the story to continue. A fun and lovely story.

It is a true summer-story. Lots of sunshine and joy.

"Return to Summer" by Krista Harper is a super cute story. Perfect for this summer.

This ended up being a DNF for me. I just couldn't get in to it. I think it was just a little slower paced and I might have not been in the right mindset.

The best thing about this book I think was the setting. It made me want to visit Havila, just not in the middle of summer. Besides that it was super quick, super unoriginal fluff. I actually thought the first half of the book was pretty enjoyable but then we learn what the conflict is and it was just so dumb. All of the characters move on from massive betrayals very quickly and the insta-love (romantic and friend) is just bananas. I mean you expect this stuff to a degree with romances but it was so overdone here that it just made the characters seem flippant and by the end I didn’t really care for either of them. They were both being dumb so I guess they deserved each other is all I can say 🤷🏻‍♀️

This book is an easy read. That's all it is. There's nothing more to it than that. It was a cute and funny show, but I lost interest after a while because I couldn't keep my attention.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with this book in exchange for an honest review.

It was such an easy read but it took me so long to get through it. Nothing was able to hold my attention and I feel like i retained nothing.

Return to Summer is an easy read. And it's just that. Nothing less nothing more. It was cute and funny but there were moments where it couldn't hold my attention for long enough and then I lost my interest altogether.

I'm a sucker for books that take place in small towns. It's short but sweet and a perfect book for summer.

Thank you Krista, Southside Mountain Press and Netgalley for a digital copy of Return to Summer. The moment I started reading, I couldn't put it down. This is hilariously comical and a warm read.

I loved some moments when Summer and Graison found awkward around each other. But, some scenes are too dramatic. As I kept on reading, it became highly predictable what was about to happen. All in all, I found the novel funny and heartwarming.

Return to Summer is a short but sweet romance about Manhattan realtor, Summer, who heads back to the town she called home in high school to sell her grandma's home, following her death. Of course, the town has grown up since then and she realises it might not be so bad, even if her ex, Graison (the one that got away) still calls it home.

This is a quick and fast-paced romance told from both Summer and Graison's perspectives. Summer is a strong and independent woman that gets things done, while Graison is a sweetheart with a heart of gold. Return to Summer features many good things: second chance romance, a cool desert town backdrop and some always-welcome steam. While it may be short, Harper managed to fit a lot of character growth into the book, which I always appreciate.

I definitely recommend adding Return to Summer to your summer romance reading list. It would make the perfect beach read that could totally be read in one sitting.

"Return to Summer": 3⭐

(Unpaid Review: thank you to @netgalley, @kristaharper and the publishers for allowing me to read this eArc copy in exchange for a review.)

I read this novel in one sitting - it's really fast-paced and the characters have great development throughout the story. Summer, in the title, is actually a pun, for the name of the mc is actually Summer 🤪

One thing that I really would've liked for the author to do is make the relationship more real. Like, the mc's are really cute (Grayson is so hot oh GOOOOOOOD) but they needed more, like, steps into their relationship? You know what I mean? But other than that, I really enjoyed reading this and think it's perfect to get out of a big slump and read at the beach!

A very sweet second chance love story. Both Summer and Graison are great characters, and you really feel their struggles.

I like the fact that it also factors in the desire to have it all, and how sometimes it is okay to go after the smaller and perhaps safer choices.

The only negative thing is the ending... It feels rushed and somewhat unfinished... I find myself left with a lot of questions.

The premise of this book is based on misunderstandings and regrets. The book is a quick and predictable read.

This is your regular -I'm too busy and successful for family and friends until I meet someone who makes me question everything in my life- story.
I didn't like Summer. She was rude and judgemental; got the vibes that she was better than everyone in that small town.
Because of her personality and inability to make her mind, the book wasn't what I was expecting.
But even though I didn't like the character, it was a quick read. The writing is really good, and the scenery is just beautiful!

When Summer returns to Havila to sell the house of her deceased grandmother, she hopes to avoid her high school love, Graison. She will only be in town for 48 hours. But of course she does bump into him and when she finds he has a daughter of 12 she is upset that might be the reason he dumped her at prom.

When she decides to flip the house and needs more time, she and Graison are rekindling their old romance. But what happened 12 years ago and will their love have a chance now?

It was nice to read about the changes in a town in 12 years. Havila has turned into bit of a booming and modern town Summer does not easily recognize. And Graison has done really good for himself too. What really bothered me that Summer had neglected her loving grandparents. She lived with them a while and she has not been back in 12 years, even when they needed her care or died? She had a career in LA, without any friends or holidays.. It did not endear me to her actually. It seemed her grandparents and Havila were just a blip in her teens and she was still hurting from being dumped by Graison and never looked back.

The other thing is that Summer kept changing her mind; gave me a digital whiplash. She wants to stay/no to leave, she tells her boss she will return/to just call HR for a paid month holiday, to sell the house/keep the house, move back to LA/stay in Havila etc. etc. She was sometimes quite rude to people about it. Make up your mind woman!

There were some really great people living in Havila. Maybe Summer should have appreciated/appreciate them more.

This was a quick book. It was a nice change in reading about a different location. I’ve never read a book based in the Southwest so it was fun.

This was such the perfect second chance summer romance! I truly fell in love with Summer and Graison’s love. I love the first half of the book that really builds their romance up. The second half felt rushed considering the build up from the first half and everything happened so quickly at the end but I’m glad they got their HEA. Such a cute and easy beach read.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this book and author. My first time reading this authors work.
This is a second chance romance book that will pull you in from the beginning. A real estate agent comes back to sell her grandmothers home and the memories there and the friends she reconnects with makes her question if New York is really where she belongs. On the first night in town she sees her high school boyfriend. Can the two put aside the circumstances that pulled them apart and will they get a second chance?
