Matilda, who is a little girl who loses her voice after being teased. We follow her as she learns to find her confidence again.

An enjoyable if slightly awkward to read kindle book, maybe it would be better in paper form.

Wonderful story about learning to be confident and the importance of the friends and family around you. It was a lot of fun to read and the children really enjoyed it! I believe the message is such a great one, that should be shared with children growing up.

This is a children's picture book about Matilda, a little girl who has to deal with bullying at school, and her self-confidence is torn down because of it. At home, she bursts into tears in front of her mom, and explains the situation to her. I won't give away more than that so I don't spoil the story.
It's heart-warming to see Matilda gain confidence and feel more comfortable in her skin as the story goes on. It has an important and sweet message that will surely resonate with a lot of kids. It also has really beautiful, vibrant art that makes the story come to life.

Thank you Netgalley for a chance to read this book.

I do understand and appreciate what the author is trying to deliver and it is a good one but many times I was disrupted by the flows of the storyline and even the pictures don't go well with the lines.

The dialogue and flow of this book is very unnatural. The illustrations are not great. Definitely not my favorite.

I thought that this was a lovely positive little story.

In the book we meet Matilda, who is a little girl who loses her voice after being teased. We follow her as she learns to find her confidence again.

The book is a simple idea with some lovely illustrations – it is a positive and uplifting read about loving who you are and being the best you can – and standing up for yourself.

It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!

I Wear Self-Confidence Like a Second Skin is a wonderful book about self-love. Matilda had difficulties at school with the other students bullying her, when she returned home, her mother read her a poem about self-confidence. This poem inspired Matilda to hold her head up high. Matilda rose to the occasion and took charge. She had the courage to confront those who picked on her and wasn’t afraid to use her voice in class. She rose to the occasion and took charge. This is a wonderful children’s book with a lovely message for young readers about self-confidence.

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

"I wear confidence like a second skin"
This was so cute yet a powerful read. I'm glad we're talking about things like confidence with children at such a young age. It can leave a deep positive impact on children. The protagonist is adorable and relatable. It also subtly addresses bullying and dealing with bullies with self-confidence. Recommended.

The title of the book sums up the lesson in this children’s story. Matilda is an endearing character and her mother is loving and attentive. Matilda lacks confidence, is easily scared, and has difficulty with her peers at school. Her mother reads her a poem about self-confidence and it seems Matilda is magically transformed.

The illustrations in the book were delightful but I had trouble with the story. This read like a translated book, a little unnaturally in the flow of words. The poem about self-confidence was nice but it doesn’t seem possible that it would have been enough to transform Matilda the way the book would have you believe. A follow-up discussion in the book between Matilda and her mother, with her mother providing confident and assertive examples, would have been helpful. I realize this is meant to be a short children’s book but self-confidence is a big and meaningful topic and I would have liked to see it addressed more deeply. Of course, parents can and should provide follow-up to the story but this is a review about the book itself. As such, this one missed the mark a little for me.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this book.
