Mystery and thriller is one of my all time favourite genres and I loved this book so much! I can't recommend it enough

Summer works as a patient advocate at a hospital for violent patients, when she has an uncomfortable encounter with a patient named Lucy. When Summer tries to find out more information about Lucy, she’s told that no such patient exists. While Lucy’s Coming For You gets off to a promising start, the book spirals into a confusing ghost/horror story that never really finds its way, lacking any tension or suspense, with too many plot holes. Just wasn’t for me. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

I really liked the cover art, the blood look against the white is really cool.

Well written, fun read. Would recommend.

Summer asks where her patient Lucy has disappeared to but her co-workers are perplexed because Lucy does't exist.
Does Lucy exist? Should Summer question her own sanity?
This is a psychological thriller that focuses on mental health.

I remember picking this book up because it gave me The Silent Patient vibes which I loved, but it was entirely different.

It's a well written psychological thriller, fast paced, and a page turner with great plot twists almost every chapter, which will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat. I was edging on a reading slump and this book got me out of it.

This was the first book in the series and I can't wait for book two and more of DI Swanson!

Thank you @netgalley & @booksgosocial for this ARC in exchange for an honest review💕

Summer Thomas works as an advocate for patients in mental health facilities. She enjoys her job, is devoted to her patients and juggles this with being a good mother to her young son. Her life takes a drastic turn when a patient disappears...but what's more alarming is everyone denying she even existed in the first place!

The title and premise of this book drew me in immediately! The author clearly has lots of knowledge in this area which really helps to build a realistic picture of Summer's day to day life in her work.

Unfortunately I wasn't a massive fan of the main character - she seemed to be quite rude at times, which put me off (just small things that others may not even notice, I possibly noticed more as I read in one sitting.
I did however still enjoy her interaction with some of the other characters, particularly her co-workers. I liked the character of Det. Samson and hope he features more in the next in the series.

Overall, I enjoyed this book - it was quick, easy to read and quite a few genuinely creepy moments which I love!!! Would've loved a bit more character development from some of the other characters though good and bad.

BOOK: Lucy's Coming For You
AUTHOR: Ashley Beegan
GENRE: Thriller
RATING: 7/10
3.5 stars rounded down

This book was a nice little break from literary fiction. A quick psychological thriller that really keeps you hooked in the plot.

I liked the storyline, I thought it was incredibly unique and fun to read. I was definitely turning the pages as quick as possible to try and see what was going to happen.

I did find the writing of the book to be a little bit juvenile, which retracted from my experience reading I think.

All in all, I recommend this one for a little spooky book in the middle of October -- perfect for spooky season!

Summer is a patient advocate for patients at a mental hospital. When one of the patients disappears, and everyone tells her she never existed, she knows she has to find out the truth no matter the cost. This is Lucy’s Coming For You by Ashley Beegan.

The author’s development of the characters was skillfully done; interesting and believable. I loved Summer, strong, even in the face of her fears. The plot was inventive and interesting. Though I could see where the author was going, the last quarter of the book still held some surprises.

First up a big thank you for allowing me to read this one, sadly I just couldn't get into it. The writing-style just wasn't my cup of tea, I did try, but with each percentage it didn't get much better. There was just something missing that pulled me in. Though Lucy was frightening, that I have to say, I wonder why, if she was that frightening, she wasn't in a better ward with more protection.

I felt bad for Lucy, but this was a really well done mystery. The plot was well written and I really enjoyed getting to know the characters.

The good thing about this story is it is short. The story is one we have all heard a million times. Any fan of mystery/suspense has read this. Heck, there are at least a dozen scary movies I can think of off the top of my head with the same idea… give or take.

Because it was short and a quick read I continued to read the story. It’s a good simple book to get you into the Halloween spirit.

Summer works as an advocate in a mental health facility and has been helping Lucy one of the patients.
Summer starts to question her own mind as staff deny that there is a Lucy in the facility and she then starts to see Lucy in her home.
Twists and turns in the book while Summer tries to unravel what is going on and a Detective Swanson also has concerns for Summer but then reads between the lines.
Great psychological thriller.

Thank you, Netgalley and the author, Ashley Beegan.
This psychological thriller is so good. One of the best opening chapters for a book, it sucked me in right away. This psychological thriller had me guessing until the end. What and amazing debut, will definitely be checking out more of the authors work in the future. Over all 4 stars :)

Lucy's Coming For You by Ashley Beegan is the first debut novel in the Detective  Swanson Series.

Summer Thomas works at the psychiatric hospital ward where Lucy Clark, a violent patient, disappears without a trace. Summer does her own searching as no one believes there was a Lucy Clark in the ward. To make matters worse, Lucy, a person who apparently doesn't exist, comes looking for Summer on her own terms.

I loved that the book constantly made me think about questions, such as; Is Lucy real? She is a ghost or Summer's figment of her imagination? How could she have escaped? Why are people denying knowing her? I needed to know these answers asap, and more importantly why was Lucy coming for Summer?

I found this was a very unusual psychological detective thriller, where the detective isn't mentioned until the very last half of the book.

However, I loved that this book had a bit of a spook factor to it, so in saying that I would only recommend this book if you don't mind the heart racing kind of thriller books.

This book was a strange one. A patient goes missing from a secure hospital, then a whole book of chaos happens, with multiple sections to the story, and then a bit of a flat ending. I'm a little baffled but also enjoyed the dramatic bit towards the end. I did think I'd worked it out but I was just slightly off....but close! For a less than 250 page book, it dragged for the most part. Very middle of the road.

This was excellent and I think it’s one of those books I’ll always recommend as a must read for everyone!! It was great and a pleasure to read. An automatic 5 out of 5 stars!
