Fake It Till You Bake It was like watching a Hallmark movie in the best way.
Jada and Donovan have almost nothing in common, but they could both use a bit of good PR. Jada is America’s most-hated woman after dumping their sweetheart on a reality dating show. Donovan is a football player turned baker whose cupcake shop has hit a bit of a lull. In teaming up, Jada can restore her image a bit (and gain access to her trust fund) and Donovan can save his business.
The romance was believable and I thought the characters balanced eachother out well. I’m going to go eat a cupcake now.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a review copy. I’ll definitely pick up the next book in this series.

Fake It Till You Bake It was a quaint fake dating book. I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters. But Jada's entitlement was a bit over the top. This was an average romance novel.

Fake It Till You Bake It was a fun romance starring a social media/reality TV star and a football player. When Jada Townsend-Matthews turns down a proposal on a reality dating show, she becomes instantly hated. She heads home to San Diego to lick her wounds and finds herself in the newest cupcake bakery. She and the owner/baker, have a run in that leads to a further relationship. Her grandma owns the football team that Donavon works for and she asks him to give Jada a job. Jada must work and learn the job if she wants her inheritance. Nothing could go wrong, could it.
I enjoyed this story, it was a lot of fun. We have a fake dating trope as well and an enemies to friends to lovers one. Jada is one of those characters that if I met her in person, I would not want anything to do with her. Donovan is so patient with her, that she can not help but develop feelings for him. I liked them both eventually and wanted their relationship to work out. Jada also has low self-esteem, because of the way her parents look at her and her life choices. They have never encouraged her in her chosen pathway and they really made me angry, especially because it effected the way Jada looked at herself. There are a few misunderstandings and roadblocks that almost derail the relationship, but this is a romance and I enjoyed seeing Jada’s and Donovan’s journey.

Fake It Till You Bake It by Jamie Wesley is a delightful treat for readers who crave lighthearted, funny, and sexy romances with a dash of identity exploration, baking, and a strong focus on character growth, making it a perfect fit for fans of contemporary romance and those who enjoy stories about finding love and self-discovery.

A nice light read that also makes for an intriguing yet relaxed audiobook, Fake It Till You Bake It is a cute, light-hearted read to be adored by those who enjoy a good fake dating trope.

Jada has just rejected the most eligible bachelor in the U.S. on national television and is now hated by the entire world. She justs wants to hide out in her apartment and leave the world behind. But her parents have cut her off and she can't get her trust fund until she is able to prove that she can live on her own without it. Donovan is a star football player and owns a cupcake shop with two of his closest friends and teammates. There store was thriving, but they have now hit a lull and need some new life in the shop. When her grandmother suggests Jada work at the bake shop, both Jada and Donovan are unsure of how that will work. Will they be able to work together or will Jada be hiding even more in her apartment.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review this title.
This was a quick read for me. It was an interesting dynamic between Jada and Donovan. How they navigate life is totally different, but when they get together, the chemistry is undeniable.

I can almost buy the football players turned baker/cupcake shop owners. But I have a hard time with football team owner's gorgeous, trust fund baby granddaughter wanna be influencer working part time in said bakery. But it was cute. Made me want cupcakes so bad. I would have liked to know more about Donovan's background. Jada's parents were just joyless people. Thank goodness for Grams. I found out there is a second in the series and I do plan to read it.
Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for providing me with a digital copy.

I had to DNF this book... I read about 60% of this book and never fully got engaged with the characters. Now, it has almost been 2 years since I tried to read this book, however, I want to provide feedback so I can raise my ratio... I just do not like giving negative feedback. This book probably would have been a 2.5 star read for me honestly because I sort of liked the FMC, however, the MMC was not it for me.

this was okay, very hallmark-y, decent and kept my attention but didn’t have that memorable, longevity factor

This was cute & the premise of this book sounded so sweet I couldn't help but want to read it!! It took me a little bit to get into, but then I ended up really liking both Donovan and Jada together. Minus the bad communication :(. Overall I thought it was good and enjoyed reading it but I'm not sure it'll stick with me for long. Definitely craving a sweet treat now though.

AMAZING light hearted read. I loved this!!! This was my first book by this author and I will forever be a fan. Fake dating and enemies to lovers vibes run throughout this whole novel. The chemistry between Jada and Donovan is undeniable and the author threw in some steamy scenes. Which I was all about! Kuddos to this author. The book was easy to follow and drew me in immediately.

Fake It Till You Bake It by Jamie Wesley is absolutely lit. I Adored this wonderful read. It was a Six Star read for me and I wanted more.
Highly Recommend this story to all readers.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

Opposites attract in this charmingly sweet contemporary romance!
Jada, with her sophisticated demeanor on the outside and major insecurities on the inside, needed an amazing guy like Donovan to balance her out. Her head-in-the-clouds behavior is a bit much to digest but knowing that with the right partner, you can grow into love for others and yourself makes my inner romantic cheer.
There were some aspects that I thought were a little overplayed for the hardcore rom-com readers such as the break-up trope, and family and sibling tension. I can see what the author was doing but there needed to be something that held readers by the heart that was slightly missing.
The author has great potential and this is a great reader for new romance readers.

Love the cover of this one, and love books that have to do with baking. Overall, though, I didn't love the book but it was decent. It was an entertaining and charming novel with some laugh out loud moments as well as some emotional moments. I found the romance to be a bit over the top, and I felt the plot lacked depth. But as I said it was a good book, and I'd definitely check out more books by Jamie Wesley.

so so so so so good, omg amazing.
the tropes were done so good, Jada and Donovan are the most perfect couple ever omg. such a fluffy, lighthearted read, def read if you want a palate cleanser or need to get out of a slump!!

Fake it Till You Bake It is a fake relationship, enemies to lovers, workplace romance, and opposites attract. The plot was enjoyable overall, and the parts about social media and baking were well-written. I was immediately intrigued with Jada and Donovan from the first instant they met. They had wonderful chemistry and banter.
In the near future, I could definitely see this becoming a Hallmark movie.

Though I really liked the concept for this book and most of the tropes, I felt it was more draggy than i’d like it to be. The first half of the book was hard to push through but I did like the ending. The characters were good and their banter was entertaining. Overall it’s a solid read for its good concept and good characters.

This started off slow for me. And I did not like Donovan in the beginning. He was just a little too buttoned up and I desperately wanted him to loosen the hell up. I hated that Jada had to experience the backlash she did for turning down the proposal on the show. But what this book showed was that sometimes the worst of things that happen to us, sometimes leads us to something we had no idea we wanted. And it in turn ends up being the very best thing.

This was a fun and enjoyable read! It kept me hooked and I finished in 24 hours! I loved the idea of football players owning a cupcake shop and found myself craving a cupcake the whole time reading. Jada and Donovan's banter was amazing and you can never go wrong with fake dating. I was hoping there would be more football, but it makes sense that the focus would be on the cupcake shop. My only complaint was the third act break up. I'm not opposed to a third act break up if it makes sense, but this was a little out of the blue for me. Otherwise, I still enjoyed it and would recommend it! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!
