So many gorgeous boards displayed. I loved the idea of entertaining with these suggestions but now is not the time with the Covid situation. Perhaps one day soon we can invite all our friends back into our homes to enjoy feasting on the platters.

I requested this cookbook/cooking guide because I want to learn how to make food boards. They are so popular and to be quite honest I just do not have the eye for these sorts of things naturally. Having some instructions and tips / ideas would help me out big time when trying to host a gathering!

This book is so packed. I know you can watch YT or pull up a guide on Pinterest, but there is just something about a well put together cookbook. In the 200+ pages of this book, there are presentations tips, full color photographs, step-by-step instructions, and guides for helping create arrangements. There are tips for gatherings like birthdays, baby showers, weddings, holidays, etc.

I saved a few of the tips to try at future gatherings. I think one of the things I was wanting the most out of this book other than instructions/ideas was knowing what types of food to include. I don't ever want anything too fancy (that's just out of touch with the type of gatherings I would host), but this book covered such a wide range that it fits all my wants from it and more.

As someone who loves a good charcuterie board. I loved this book! It had a lot of great ideas/recipes. I love the layout of the boards that were shared and how simple it was to put them together. The pictures were beautiful, which were great to look through when I first quickly flipped through the book. I checked out the price for this online as well and it is well priced. Some other charcuterie books I have seen in the past were double that and layout the same ideas. Highly recommend getting this for anyone looking for some guidance to create a board for any special occasion!

Food Boards are all the rage right now. While they aren’t really anything new, there are dozens of new cookbooks being released with great ideas for serving in this manner. Fabulous Food Boards!: Simple & Inspiring Recipe Ideas to Share at Every Gathering by Anna Helm Baxter is one of the best, and is filled with dozens of innovative and beautiful ideas for serving.

While these are fancy ways to serve food, the boards are meant to be served immediately, since there is nothing on the boards to keep the food warm. They differ from buffets in that the foods are simply arranged on a board or tray, and don’t take up a lot of room.

While there are several good recipes for items that can go on boards, the main emphasis is on serving as well as ideas for themes to present on the boards. There are dozens of fun ideas in this book, and it’s a fun addition to any cookbook collection. Anyone who likes to serve meals in a unique manner will welcome the fun ideas to serve family and friends. The book includes appetizer boards, main dish boards, salad type boards, and dessert boards. The author says that almost anything can be put on a board and served beautifully. One a reader starts to put a few boards together, the ideas in the book will inspire dozens of other unique ways to serve almost anything.

While this isn’t a must-have cookbook, it has some great ideas that everyone can use.

'Fabulous Food Boards!' is a fabulous book, full of useful tips and advice and, of course, full of great board ideas! While frequently my boards are kind of thrown together, I liked the way in which Baxter arranged boards around themes and holidays. I'd definitely recommend this to those wanting to step up their food board game. Warning though, the stunning photos in this book will make you insanely hungry and mildly jealous!

An amazing book for all entertainers & foodies! I love a good charcuterie board, but there are soo many more options in the book to try, some really unique ones! Every board has a picture, which really elevates the ideas in your mind so you can immediately start envisioning your own! I can't wait to try making some soon. Wonderful! Great for inspiration and full of ideas to add to the shopping cart for the next dinner party. Also this book would look fab on the island as decor.

There were some interesting charcuterie boards in this book. The brunch chapter features bagels & lox, a yogurt bar, and a pancake buffet. The "feast" section showcases a taco spread, chicken & waffles, and gyros. The dessert portion of the book includes ice cream and hot chocolate bars. There are some neat entertaining ideas in this book, but I didn't like it quite as much as some of the similar type books that I have reviewed recently.

I received an ARC of this from NetGalley, which I was very excited about! I'm a millennial so you know we love us a charcuterie moment haha I also can't get enough cookbook content in my life, so this was an all around win for me. The photos in this book were fantastic, I could feel my mouth watering with the turn of every page! I really liked how they gave you recipes for some of the foods associated with the food boards, that you may not know how to make on your own. I felt that gave this book a little something extra special compared to others like it. I also really enjoyed how the book was broken down by when/what you would be needing it for (ex: Brunch, Snack, Feast etc.). It also had sections for Holidays and Occasions, and you better believe I was obsessed with every single Halloween one! Ya girl loves anything spooky themed! Some of my favorite boards and recipes in the book were the Mediterranean Mezze (pg. 49) Spanish Tapas (pg. 54) Flavored Popcorn (pg. 61) and the Holiday Appetizer Wreath (so gorgeous!) on pg. 187. I'm gonna need to add these to the party rotation ASAP!

This is absolutely my FAVORITE food board book! I cannot wait to try every single one. Even if you don’t make a single board (and you absolutely should) the pictures in this book are gorgeous. This would make a beautiful hostess gift along with a board made from here.

When it comes to food boards, I’ve come to expect big spectacular displays of a good variety of food items. As a result, I was somewhat disappointed with this book as most of the features are single types of foods arranged on smaller boards or even platters. There is one chapter with big boards besides the few scattered in the other chapters. The recipes and photographs still look pretty good, though and may provide ideas for including in a bigger board.
