4.5 Stars! My Wife is Missing is my first book by author, D. J. Palmer, but it certainly will not be my last! This domestic thriller captured my interest immediately. Although, I do feel it was little monotonous in the middle, the fast-paced ending, full of twists and turns, made up for it!
Husband, Michael, and wife, Natalie, take their two children on a trip to New York City. While Michael is picking up pizza, Natalie flees the city with their two children. The pursuit for finding Natalie begins and the reason for her departure slowly develops within the pages.
Told from three viewpoints: Natalie now, Michael now, and Natalie previously, the details Palmer puts into his writing make you feel as if you are there with the characters.
Thank you, NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press, for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed above are my own.
#MyWifeisMissing

Good thrillers hook you and then consume your thoughts until you reach the resolution. I started MY WIFE IS MISSING and expected a domestic thriller with plot twists, but it was far more layered than I could've guessed and kept me guessing until the very end.
I couldn't put this down and when I did manage to put it down, I thought about when I could finally get back to reading. It was so intriguing and while I had my suspicions and ideas about where it was headed, it still managed to surprise me. I didn't want it to end. I kept thinking about how I wish more thrillers made me feel like this one did.
I highly recommend this one.
*Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC*

This book is very twisty and fast paced! Once you get started you don't want to put it down. Lies, and unreliable narrators keep the reader guessing! Greatly enjoyed this one. Any thriller or fan of domestic suspense is sure to enjoy!

My Wife is Missing was a great story. Michael comes back to his hotel room after picking up a pizza and finds his entire family gone. The only thing left is his son's teddy bear in the middle of the hallway.
The husband is always the main suspect in situations like these... however Michael's wife Natalie turns out to be more of a runaway than missing. The story unfolds to find out why Natalie ran... who/what is she running from?
This is told from Michael and Natalie's POV, but Natalie also has dual timelines which made me have to pay extra attention.
My only thing is this book seemed to be a lot longer than it needed to be. I feel like the beginning, building the backstory was a little too drawn out. Also, I did think I figured out the twist and I was only slightly off - that slight change though definitely made a difference to the story! Overall a great read. Will pick up some more DJ Palmer in the future!

D..J Palmer books never fail me. They suck me in so completely that I just can't put it down until long after I stop reading! Compelling story, full of twists and turns and an ending that'll have you saying "what the.....?????!!!!" Simply fantastic

Another unputdownable thriller by D.J. Palmer! Michael Hart and his family take a much needed vacation to New York City, but when Michael goes out to pick up a pizza, his wife and kids disappear from their hotel room. At first it seems like a kidnapping, but as more information comes to light you start to wonder what is really happening. The story is told from the present point of view of the husband, and snapshots of the past from his wife Natalie. As Natalie's point of view catches up to the present day we also find out she is suffering from insomnia, which makes her doubt herself and wonder who she can really trust. There are lots of exciting twists and turns in this story, and I couldn't put it down until I got to the very end. I really look forward to every new book by D.J. Palmer because they are so much fun to read and this new one was no different - a thoroughly enjoyable story!

Thank you.

This author has consistently given me a 4-5 star read and this newest addition did not change that. When the Hart family takes a vacation to NYC, their lives change instantly, or so it seems. Told from multiple POVs and alternating timelines, you slowly get the back story of Michael and Natalie. Is Natalie’s insomnia messing with her mind completely or is Michael manipulating her?
When past events come to light, you as the reader, do not know what or who to believe. This story was well done with twist after twist.

I was in the mood for a psychological thriller and My Wife Was Missing called to me. I was sucked in from the first chapter and found myself unable to stop reading until the book was done. It's adrenaline-filled, twisty, and a really intense story.
In the opening scene of the book, Michael discovers his wife and two kids are missing while on a family trip to New York City. The story then jumps between Michael looking for them and Natalie's perspective from before the trip. We meet present-day "missing" Natalie not far into the book and that's when the story really takes shape.
I really enjoyed this book and loved having it take place in my home state of Massachusetts. It was a gripping read that had me on the edge of my seat until the very end.
4.5/5 stars
Thank you St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I've read and enjoyed all of D.J Palmer's novels. I think this one may be my favorite. An exciting read that took me only a few hours to get through. I didn't want to put it down once I started reading.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the complimentary copy.

I was eager to read My Wife Is Missing as I absolutely loved the author's previous book, The New Husband (in fact, I suggested it to MY husband to read right now!). This book lived up to my expectations based on the previous one I read--fast paced story with twisty turns and satisfying conclusion!

This is the third book I've read by DJ Palmer, and they keep getting better. This was an exhilarating ride and had a few twists I didn't see coming.
This is the story of Natalie, who takes her two kids and leaves her husband. It is quickly apparent that she doesn't feel safe, but the reasons why don't reveal until later, and it's worse than you think. Her husband, Michael, is looking for her. This book covers that search as well as the lives of the couple leading up to Natalie running. The more things unfold, the worse they get.
This is an amazing thriller and I'm so grateful to the publisher for this advanced copy.

I ended up getting approved for the audiobook, so I listened instead of read. Below is my review from the audiobook:
4.5 ⭐️There were some excellent twists in there!! A solid thriller for fans of suspenseful, domestic thriller books! The audio was easy to follow, and I thoroughly enjoyed. My one criticism is that there was a bit of a lull in the middle, where I was waiting for the other shoe to drop…and boy did it!

I've read three of this author's books and enjoyed them all. This one keeps the record intact, although I must admit it's not my favorite of the four. It's longer than it needs to be (repetition was an issue for me), and the main characters spend way, way too much time inside their own heads trying to figure out who's out to get them and why. All that aside, though, it's an entertaining story that I'm quite sure many other readers will enjoy thoroughly.
The initial focus is on Natalie Hart, who is on the run from her husband, Michael - taking with her their two children, Addison and Bryce. Their marriage has been on the rocks of sorts for some time now, and she suffers from debilitating insomnia that certainly hasn't helped ease the situation. But she's not only certain that Michael has been carrying on an affair right under their noses, but that he's been keeping an even darker secret from his younger days that at the very least could kill any chances for a reconciliation if the details come to light.
Michael, though, seems gobsmacked by his family's disappearance - even though he admits (to readers) some of the truth and hints that there's more to come. Needless to say, he's fiercely intent on finding his on-the-run loved ones - if not to repair his marriage, but to get the children away from a mother he believes is seriously disturbed.
Chapters shift from perspectives of Natalie and Michael both in their present and past, thus weaving backstory threads that readers presume (rightly) will make a coherent tapestry at the end. Adding texture is Natalie's workplace experience and friendships as well as a meddlesome but seemingly well-meaning police detective who insists on tagging along with Michael as he tries to learn Natalie's whereabouts. As the end closes in, the action heats up to the point of meltdown - leading to what I'm sure is supposed to be a bigger surprise than it was to me. All in all, it was worth reading - and I thank the publisher, via NetGalley, for the opportunity to read and review it.

Great story! I thought I knew what was happening, you was responsible but I was quite surprised by the ending. Kept me on my toes and of course as always with D. . Palmer's books I didn't want it to put it down. Highly recommend.

Huge amount of thanks to NetGalley, st Martin’s press, and DJ Palmer for an advance copy of this book!
Natalie has a lot going on. She has two kids, a marriage on the rocks, and insomnia. She suggests a family trip to New York City for some much needed family time. When her husband Michael returns to their hotel with dinner, he’s startled to find Natalie and their children gone. Assuming the worst, he desperately searches for them and for clues as to why she left.
Natalie has been searching too. While trying to find the root of her stress and insomnia, she discovers shocking information about her husband. Is it the truth, or is it insomnia induced paranoia?
This was a roller coaster of a ride! Full of twists and turns, with a big one I didn’t see coming. Gripped me from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down. DJ Palmer does it again! Publication day is May 10, so make sure you grab a copy!

Wow!! I am blown away. This one had me from the first few pages. You want to know more and when you think you have it straight, you find out you’re wrong. What you think you know, is not even close to the truth. What’s going on with Natalie? So many questions and so many twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed this wild ride. I love a book that keep me guessing. I read this in one sitting. This is a must read for a thriller fans!!!

This one just wasn't for me. It has a good premise, but maybe it just moved a little slow...There are a couple of twists, but overall I just couldn't really get invested in the story.

This is an author that I have loved reading since the first book I picked up by this author. I enjoy their writing skills as well as their attention to details who make their stories pop. I never hesitate to pick up their book and can't wait to see what is next. This is a well written story about a husband who is willing to do anything to find his family. But with secrets of his own past things may not be so easy. You don't want to miss what happens to these characters. I found this book to be engaging and fast paced. The characters are relateable and I enjoyed seeing them supportive of each other. I enjoyed how they pulled me into the story from the beginning and had me coming back for more. The twists and turns had me sitting on the edge of my seat and made the story entertaining for me to read. The plot had great growth and ticked all the boxes for me. This is a great story you don't want to miss. A must read. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This book can legitimately be summed up with "what the actual F***" and I couldn't be happier with it. I always enjoy DJ Palmer - and this definitely stands up. I ended up with suspicions about one thing, but never in my life saw other parts of this coming, and that's unusual for me. This book was twisty, convoluted, and made me doubt my impressions every other chapter - so well done!
