Description
Why did she run so suddenly? Why is he searching so desperately?
A family vacation turns into a nightmare for Michael Hart when he discovers his wife and two children have disappeared from their New York City hotel room. Horrified, he fears they’ve been kidnapped. Michael’s frantic search to find them takes a shocking turn when he discovers that his wife, Natalie, appears to have left quite
willingly, taking their children with her. The police want to know why, and so does Michael. But there may be a reason why Natalie ran, something Michael can’t tell the police—the truth about his past. While untangling his deceptions might be the key to locating Natalie, Michael knows it could also be his undoing. To find his wife, he must now turn to the one person capable of exposing all that he’s been hiding.
Natalie thinks she has Michael all figured out and has hatched a plan to escape from
him permanently. One detail, though, threatens to derail her efforts: sleep—or more accurately, the lack of it. Since the moment the shocking revelations about her husband came to light, Natalie’s
insomnia has worsened to the point that she now suffers from delusions. Are her fears about Michael valid—or a symptom of her condition?
With her children’s lives at risk, the stakes for Natalie could not be higher. On her own, running low on energy and resources, avoiding increasingly close calls with Michael—who is on the hunt and closing in fast—Natalie needs someone to turn to for help. But who can she trust when she can’t even trust herself?

My Wife Is Missing by D.J. Palmer is an adrenaline-fuelled rush from beginning to end. This is an author who has very quickly become a favourite of mine, and I absolutely devoured this latest offering.
I would suggest going into this one blind, but trust me when I say that you will be holding your breath in heart-stopping anticipation for the duration of this twisty narrative as it delivers all of the components necessary to keep you reading long into the night.
Many thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an ARC.
This is exactly what to expect from a DJ Palmer book: brain whiplash from the many twists and lost time from staring into space after finishing the last page because your mind is blown!! Natalie and Michael were having marriage problems that Michael blamed on Natalies’ insomnia.. They took their two kids Addie and Bryce on vacation hoping to have some much needed fun. When Micheal left the hotel to pickup pizza for dinner his wife and kids had disappeared. Their suitcases were gone too! Micheal was distraught and didn’t know where to turn. He had the hotel investigate and he couldn’t believe what they found. Many dark secrets were revealed that will leave you gasping in surprise! Best thriller I read this year by far !
This is a story I could not put down. I kept telling myself, just one more chapter….just one more! Michael’s wife Natalie disappears with their two children while they are on a vacation in NYC. Natalie sends Michael out for Pizza, and when he returns to the hotel there are no sign of his family……except his son’s teddy bear that had been dropped in the hallway of the hotel. Now Michael is on the hunt for his family, and many layers start to unfold as to why Natalie is missing. This novel kept my interest throughout, and I found this story to be a fast paced page turner. The ending came to a crashing conclusion that you will not want to miss.
My thanks to the author D.J. Palmer, St. Martin’s Press and Net Galley for allowing me to read this great novel for my honest review.

In early September I organized a cover reveal to help the author get some buzz generating for his 2022 release, and here I am six weeks later being one of the first to read and review this book. D.J.. Palmer is one of my favorite authors, and I am overjoyed to present this review.
MY WIFE IS MISSING is hands down his twistiest book yet. Michael Hart discovers that his wife and two young children have gone missing from their NYC hotel room while on vacation. He fears they have kidnapped, but he doesn't know that Natalie has left willingly and has been planning to do so for some time. The action explodes in the first chapter and alternates between present day and the days before Natalie ran. I had no idea how this book was going to end, and when I was hit with those multiple twists, suddenly everything came together and made perfect sense.
Because Natalie suffers from extreme insomnia--to the point where she suffers from delusions--she is definitely an unreliable character; however, I am a firm believer in instincts, and she is solid in her belief that Michael is dangerous. Now on to Michael, who comes across as the grieving husband...why would a desperate husband want to make sure that the photo released to the public doesn't have him in it? It seems that Michael wants to make sure a long-buried secret stays buried.
MY WIFE IS MISSING releases May 10, 2022, and it's a MUST READ! Thank you so much to the author for his wonderful Facebook group that allowed the publisher to grant my wish for this dynamic early read!
My Wife is Missing by D.J. Palmer is a wild ride, careening to an end that you just don't expect! An incredible, don't miss novel. Michael and Natalie have been having marital problems, all of which seem to stem from Natalie's insomnia. Michael believes she's become paranoid about many things, including the idea that he's having an affair. When she comes up with the idea to take a family trip to NYC he thinks it's the perfect chance to reconnect with her and their family. They arrive and he runs out for pizza, but when he returns his family is missing...and their lugguge is gone as well.
Convinced at first that they've been kidnapped, he reports their disappearance to the police, which leads him on a chase across the country to find them, but whose story is true, Michael's or Natalie's? It's a whirlwind ride to the end to find out the truth...you won't want to put this one down!
Thank you to the author, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
Wow, this was unexpectedly good. I should not be surprised as I loved the last one! This was the perfect balance of clever storytelling, primarily from Michael, the husband, and then a mix of Michael and Natalie the wife, I’m not going into too much of the story as you should just read it without too much info, but obviously by the title it revolves around the disappearance of Natalie. I went back and forth over who was the villain. I changed my mind as many times as I turned pages. It’s great, please read it.
If you haven't read a D.J. Palmer novel yet, what are you doing?! Palmer's latest novel, My Wife is Missing, is the perfect suspenseful, thrill ride that you absolutely cannot figure out. Palmer captures your attention and you can't look away. A seemingly straight-forward who-done-it is nothing of what it seems.
Michael and Natalie have been married for years. College sweethearts, two kids, careers, life stresses have taken a toll on their marriage. Natalie is suffering from insomnia and just isn't herself anymore. She is struggling to make it through her day and is becoming suspicious of everything Michael does. She knows deep down something isn't right. Slowly her worst nightmare begins unfolding. Natalie makes the hard but necessary decision to runaway with her kids in-tow. But for an insomniac who has a hard time thinking clearly, running away is harder than it seems.
I can't say enough good things about My Wife Is Missing. I read this book over the span of three days while working 12 hour shifts. I couldn't wait to get back to my book. I will always recommend anything by D.J. Palmer and will definitely be recommending My Wife is Missing to all my fellow reader friends. I will also be on the constant outlook for Palmer's new works. Special Thanks to NetGalley, D.J. Palmer, and St. Martin's Press for the advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest opinion. 5 stars!
