4.5! I love Palmer's novels and this one does not disappoint! An adrenaline rush with each page. Michael and Natalie decide to take a mini-vacation with the kids. A well needed long weekend away but things go awry when Michael get back with dinner and his wife and kids are gone. Room is empty, suitcases are gone, and all that is left to indicate they were ever there in the first place is his sons teddy left outside the hotel room door. Michael becomes frantic as he traces his steps and start his search for his family, meanwhile hotel personnel and the police are questioning everything. Number one suspect in a missing family is usually the spouse. As Michael decides to do his own investigation he's worried about the pieces of the past that might be dug up, but do those pieces have any connection to what happened to his family? It's a race against time and information as Michael tries to understand his wife's mental state, who to trust and what may all come to the surface as things progress. Will he be able to find his family before someone else does or worse? Thank you to St. Martin Press for the ARC! Don't start this one unless you can finish it in the same sitting!
Brief Synopsis:
Imagine this, you’re on vacation in NYC. You’re wife sends you out for pizza while she stays back at the hotel with the kids to get unpacked and settled. When you return your family is gone. Vanished with out a trace. But where did they go, and why?

First off thank you so much to St Martins Press for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book early. I’m so grateful. I had really high hopes for this one. The synopsis grabbed me and I knew I would be in for a wild ride. A wild ride it was.

The story starts out with so much potential. There are some good bones here, and the author certainly delivers a lot of twist you don’t which way to look. It’s fast paced and grabs you right off the bat.
•
Unfortunately for me, about half way through it all started to fall apart for me. The plot started to take too many turns it just became extremely unbelievable. Furthermore I had a really hard time connecting with Natalie, the Wife. She seemed unhinged, and for a reason that to me wasn’t fully developed. Once we got to the end, I had a “really?!” moment. I have seen some very positive reviews on goodreads. So if this is one you are interested in, please take a look there.

3.5 stars
Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for an eARC of this book.
I haven't read any other books by D.J. Palmer, but this title and cover caught my attention.
Michael and Natalie are married and have 2 young children. After almost 20 years together, Natalie suspects her husband is having an affair. But, this is not the only secret Michael is keeping.
Scared for her life and that of her children, Natalie goes on the run, leaving everything behind.
Her husband, along with a local Detective, follow her trail, hoping to catch her and find out why she left. But, while doing so, Michael is met with the secrets of his own past, which may come back to haunt him.
Things started out strong for me, but about 1/3 of the way through, the book started to become very repetitive.
Natalie has insomnia.
Natalie had trouble sleeping.
Natalie had insomnia.
Natalie had trouble sleeping.
Yeah, I get it.
I thought the author did a good job with the dual timelines and multiple POV's, but I had such a dislike for the protagonist (Natalie) that it was hard for me to connect fully to this story.
The ending had a couple surprises, but it all seemed a little cutesy to me.
I don't know how to rate this one, although ratings are always subjective, so who really cares.
⭐⭐⭐💫
DJ Palmer never stops amazing me with his plot twist and creativity. This was a story I enjoy reading. I kept wonder if the main character, Natalie, was sane or completely mentally ill. Was everything she thought accurate or was she delusional. While Natalie suffered from insomnia and was convinced her husband had an affair and that her and her children's lives were endangered I never knew if this was really the case or if she was off the deep end. When the family takes a trip to New York and Natalie and the kids go missing while Michael is out getting pizza, things about their past come to light. I started to fear for Natalie and the kids as well, things were starting to make sense to me ..... then BAM another twist, then another. By the time I thought I knew "who done it" I was completely off base......exactly how a great author like DJ Palmer should leave you. Go get your hands on this latest one...you don't want to miss it.
#MyWifeIsMissing:
““Unfortunately, that means someone else will have to die before I can get my man. Not wishing for it, of course, but like I said, once a killer, always a killer.”
Oh Michael; you should be thankful you’re not the one missing because you’re buried under a tree somewhere. His sense of entitlement was ridiculous “I deserve this. I need this. Nat’s not committed to finding our problems” well no shit you jerk. If there’s one thing I hate in the world, it’s a gaslighting, cheating, son of a gun, so obviously I’m team Natalie and ready to scrap Michael because 🎶 He’s the worstttttttt. 🎶
Okay, but honestly, this was a wild cat and mouse game with lots of secrets and lies. I had a sense about the 2nd ending twist but it didn’t happen exactly how I imagined it. But, that’s okay. There were literally back to back to back twists at the end that I had to specify 2nd ending.
It took me a minute to get into this one, but once I did, I enjoyed the ride. This is probably my favorite of all of DJ Palmers books because I felt the plot and characters were more developed and I felt more invested than previous. The Epilogue is probably the only thing that I could have done without. I just didn’t really enjoy it.
Thank you so much @minotaur for the gifted copy! My Wife is Missing is out 5/10/2022!
I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I did not see the twists coming at the end and it kept me on edge till the very last page! If you’re looking for a good thriller, I highly recommend this book! Thank you to netgalley and st martins press for my eARC in exchange for an honest review!
Woah talk about a twisty book. Out of all of D.J Palmers books this one may be my new favorite. This book is action packed, full of twists and difficult to put down. 10/10
The Hart family are headed to New York for a family vacation. When Michael returns to the hotel from getting food for the family he discovers they are gone. He immediately starts to panic and starts searching the hotel looking for them. The police are called in to help but nobody is taking the families Disappearance seriously.
After reviewing some hotel security footage Michael sees his family getting into a car and it looks they are on the run. It seems Michaels past and present are catching up to him and the race is on to find his family and keep some ghosts in the past.
D. J Palmer is becoming one of my favourite authors. I read his last book and thought it was terrific and when I got access to this book I was so happy. The book was amazing in every way possible, it had a great storyline and wove the main characters stories between their past and present situation. The book was action packed and made you just want to keep reading. The ending was unsuspecting to me and all the stories got wrapped up in a perfect way. This is a highly anticipated read and one you must get as soon as you can.
Check into a hotel and your wife and kids literally just disappear into thin air?? Hidden secrets,Seems way to odd to me! I couldn’t put this book down! It kept me intrigued from the beginning wondering why and what secrets was being held! Absolutely awesome book! I can’t wait to read more by this author!
With such little trust why is Natalie running instead of seeing a divorce lawyer? But then the story would be a few paragraphs instead of this fabulous thriller. So much of Natalie's fears are with so little actual proof. The book is written from 2 points of view. Each chapter alternates between Natalie and her husband Michael. But you really have to read the entire book to get the whole story. Natalie is paranoid to the extreme. Michael keeps much of his life a secret from his family. I like the twists and turns of the book. I can't say I like the characters but from the first page I was pulled into their story. I was completely entertained. I found myself reading and being surprised it was 3 AM. I just had to know what happened next.
Michael Hart and his wife Natalie take their kids on a family vacation. Upon arriving in New York, Michael runs out to get dinner to bring back to the Hotel for the family and when he returns they are missing. Has something bad happened to them? Did Natalie leave with the kids and go home? Are they all safe? This books has many twists and turns and dynamics to it that I cannot even begin to describe the wild ride this one will take you on! Great book by another one of my favorite authors! Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the digital ARC. This one hits the shelves in May 10, 2022! Mark your calendars!
That was a crazy ride! Non stop action in this one keeps you turning the pages quickly. I did guess one twist way ahead of time but it didn’t take away from the experience of this book. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this copy for review

Michael is in NY on vacation with his wife Natalie and children Bryce, six, and Addison, 10. He’s left to get pizza for dinner and returns to find his son's teddy bear in the lobby. Immediately his flags are raised, he knows his son Bryce would not go without teddy. Once he enters his room, he realizes everyone is gone, the luggage, his wife, and kids, and he runs through the hotel to find them. Once he figures out they're gone, the hotel rings the police and detective Sandra and Kenneth show up to review security footage, and it is very plain to see she left with the children of her own free will. There’s noting the police can do. But Michael can; he's failed to tell the police that his wife suffers from insomnia, tremors, memory issues and has been short-fused the past months. He’s also been failed to say that they’ve been in couples counseling, and perhaps she has every reason to run.
Because the three reasons of the day are;
She’s grateful for the truth
She’s wished done this sooner
And she’s glad she’s packed
However, this may seem like a woman running away from an evil husband's book. It's 100% NOT THAT. It's full of twists and unpredictable moments that you couldn’t and will not guess. This book is told from present to past to present again, folding so many characters into it you can’t stop flipping the pages.
When you read one of DJ’s books, it’s going to be a 5🌟; it goes without saying for myself that is. Somehow this man can sure tell a woman's side.

I always always read DJ Palmer and with each of his books I feel they keep getting better!!!! I really loved this latest and without giving much away (Man, I hate when reviewers do that!!) I will tell you that all is not what you think it is, and the twists and turns keep on coming. I loved Michael and now I love Daniel Palmer!!!
A huge fan of D J Palmer and this book is what he does best! A page turner, twisty, unputdownable fantastic read!
I received this an an advanced reader copy from NetGalley
OMG.. I could not put this one down!! It had me going from the beginning... and I was up way to late trying to finish it. And then I was like.. dangit.. I want more!!!!!!
It is the story of Natalie and Michael who were having some marital problems. Which Michael blamed on Natalies insomnia. They decide to go on a trip to work on things, and when Michael runs out to go get some pizza, she and the kids had disappeared!! So Michael is going nuts trying to figure out what happened! And WOW!!!
Loved this book!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book "My Wife is Missing" and all opinions expressed are my own. Wow! This was a great book. This is one of those books that you want to keep reading well past your bedtime. I didn't want to put it down. Also the ending is awesome! Don't miss this one.
DJ Palmer's done it again with yet another heart-stopping book! I was hooked from the first pages when the main character's wife and children went missing. Where were they? What happened? Palmer spins a web of deception and kept me constantly on my toes guessing what would happen next and "who done it." I was captivated until the very end when my jaw hit the floor. This is another Palmer book you do not want to miss!
Anxiety seems to come from the need to control not only the present, but the future. Our circumstances can change in a heartbeat........
Michael Hart steps out of the elevator in an upscale New York City hotel. With soggy pizza box in hand, he nearly trips over a very familiar teddy bear left randomly on the carpeted floor. He scoops it up as he recognizes the bear as belonging to his six year old son, Bryce. When he unlocks their hotel room door, he's greeted by silence. Michael knows everyone was starving when he left to pick up the pizza. When his wife doesn't answer his onslaught of texts and calls, Michael knows something is amiss. His is the only luggage left in the room.
D.J. Palmer has wound this one tight. He's set the stage for an action-packed novel that leans in and makes solid eye contact from the first pages. Palmer will present a very typical family spread thin by work, school, and the usual demands of life. But something is seeping in from the outside world that will have a profound impact on Michael, Natalie his wife, and the children Addie and Bryce.
Let's revisit a little tech here. The hotel security cameras capture Natalie and the children leaving the hotel in a waiting Uber. Exactly where is Natalie and the children going.......without Michael? Yup. It's those plans again. Sometimes we're included and sometimes we're not. But what happened to that Spring Break getaway for the entire family in the Big Apple?
Michael Hart informs the authorities about his missing family. And the chase begins. Cat and mouse and mouse and cat. Who is pursuing whom? And who is the bearer of deep, dark secrets here that will burst the dam when they reach the surface?
The pendulum will swing back and forth as Palmer reveals more and more about what makes Michael and Natalie tick. The spark in their relationship has been dimming for some time now. Each is being pulled in a different direction. One trying to cover their tracks and the other trying to uncover the covering. My Wife Is Missing is a top drawer mystery/psychological thriller that plays its cards close to the chest. I had an issue with the wrap-up of the ending. Sometimes it's just a bit harder to get all those 52 cards back in the box. But it's certainly one to place on the very top of your TBR pile. A worthy read.......really plan on it.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review. My thanks to St. Martin's Press and to D.J. Palmer for the opportunity.
