It took me a bit to get into this story. I wasn't the biggest fan of the MC and some situations made me have to put the book down for a bit. Overall I enjoyed Gretchen and Joshua's story, and it hit the marks for a baseball feeling read.

It was a so so read. Started out okay but at some point it was not enough. Everything move so fast and too insta-lovey. I truly hate the miscommunication. What I enjoyed was definitely the smut. Others not so much.

This was a book. It had words. The words went together to fork sentences. Those sentences made paragraphs. Eventually it was a story.

We had such a strong start but I slowly lost interest as I went on. I just couldn’t connect to the characters unfortunately.
Much appreciation to the publisher and netgalley for the chance to review.

this book was a quick read! i would definitely recommend this book to a friend who is in a reading slump, as it got me out of mine!! all the tropes that were in this book, like the sports romance were right up my alley!

I was so excited for this one, but it definitely missed the mark for me. The story was easy enough to get through without getting too frustrated (I did finish it), which counts for something. The baseball theme added a nice touch, though the insta-love was not my vibe—especially given the somewhat cringey sex-dialogue that felt out of place. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't rush to recommend it either.

I love a good sports romance and this definitely fit the bill! Richardson did a wonderful job with Josh and Gretchen's story. So much fun!

Thank you NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for an honest review. Sports romance has my heart! The plot was fun but the characters felt a little flat to me. Quick and easy read.

2.5/5
pretty average read, nothing insanely spectacular but not horrible. I don't usually care for insta-love so that definitely sullied my experience reading this but if you like that then go for it. the smut was a redeeming quality but also not the best ive ever read. I have very neutral opinion about this and prob wouldn't recommend to others unless I knew that they'd enjoy.

I finally got around to this and it was just not great. It absolutely reads like a Wattpad book, and had I known that before requesting I wouldn't have. Insta-lust/love, falling for a celebrity, and a horribly annoying best friend that constantly gets in the way. It tried to be like 4 different books simultaneously

Thank you NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for an honest review. I like baseball, which was why I was drawn to this novel. I think the characters and the writing fell flat to me.

Overall, this book was decent, but not great. I don't think any of these characters will stick with me after I finish it, but it is a quick and easy read.

I feel like this book didn't get the hype it deserves. It wasn't a 5 star read, but it was definitely worthy of a read. Love a sporty little romance! This was so sweet!

This cover really drew me in and I love any sports romance I can get my hands on. This one was definitely good and worth the read.

Thanks NetGalley for the preview!
This book was addicting and frustrating. The main characters fell in to bed very quickly, and everything seems so rushed. They end up building a nice relationship, but still seems like they know nothing about each other at the end. The spice was nice but also lacking details.

I love a good sports romance, especially baseball. This was a good story, one I'm glad to have read.

The meet cute made this novel. In good ways and bad. It was unique, but simple and it is also the cause of the second act break up. Yes, second act.
I liked the writing style by the author, but the sequence was off for me. The characters get together really quickly and then are separated for a while and then back together for their happy ever after for the second half of the book. And yet I still felt the love interests didn’t get enough “screen time” together. But because they get together so quickly I wasn’t interested in reading more. There was no tension I was waiting for them to break for the second half of the book.
It was spicy, and then would close the door?
If you like baseball and wine, this is a cute read.

This was not a bad read overall.
It gives quite a heartwarming tale but also, gives the feeling of an instant love, that is quite pure.
I'm not that much into the writing style, but overall, for beginners and for a light read, this one was not bad.

This romance was exactly what I wanted, spicy and cute. Baseball is one of my favorite sports and I love seeing it in this story. The couple was adorable and their chemistry was a beautiful dynamic. I highly recommend it if you are in the mood for a quick cute read.

Out of His League by Caroline Richardson is a super easy to consume sports romance that definitely made me smile at various times of the book. One thing I really appreciated when reading this was how easy it was to follow the romance between Josh and Gretchen and how throughout the book, the focal point of the relationship wasn't made to be overly dramatic or over the top.
One thing that I felt about this was how different Gretchen was during the time jump. I felt that she was made confident and sure of herself in the beginning, even if it mentioned whether or not she was shy, versus what we saw in the second part where it felt like she had to hide behind everything and was scared so often. Now I'm not saying that it isn't realistic but I felt that after a part two or even the climax, characters grow, but for me, it seemed that Gretchen didn't grow as a character as much as I hoped she would have. I feel like as a climax, the situation between Josh and Gretchen was too fast to make me truly love the characters individually. Even if there was the instant connection between them from the start of the book with the coffee, I wish we saw more of that connection as well as their individual stories more.
In terms of plot for Out of His League I would have loved it if we saw more of the baseball aspect for Josh and the sommelier lifestyle for Gretchen. I think sommeliers are amazing and when I read that Gretchen was one, I was in awe. However, we really didn't get to see as much as we hoped except for the one time and I had wanted more of their own lifestyle. Even the situation with one of Josh's teammates felt really spontaneous and could have been developed a lot more.
All in all, while a terrific and fun sports romance, I would have loved to see it more developed and even longer than what it was.
Thank you again NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
