This story had SO much potential! Cute cover? Check. Good plot line? Check. SPORTS ROMANCE? Check!!! However, the more I read it the more frustrated I grew with the story. Their relationship happened so fast and it like there was no build-up between the characters at all. There was also a lot of unnecessary conflict and miscommunication between the characters that the author seemed to include just to add to the story.
Overall, If you're looking for a short, smutty sports romance then this is definitely the book for you.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

Man do I have so much to say.
Let's get the hard stuff out of the way. I wanted to like this book. Oh boy did I want to like this book. But it was clearly a Wattpad book as it reads almost like a fanfic.
All the elements are there for such a fun read but it felt clumsy and like it fell short in so many places. It was a quick and easy read so I can't tell it it was just jam packed in too few pages and could have been letter had it not been so short. A good InstaLove trope is always fun but they were in love in their first 24 hours. It felt sooooo rushed and uncomfortable. It was getting a little off putting with how they so instantly were so engrossed in each other. All she does is get him a coffee (which let's face it, if it weren't a romance novel would be incredibly creepy with how brought this famous person their exact coffee order) and Josh was immediately like, "OKAY, you're not allowed to leave my side."
Gretchen herself didn't have much personality apart from loving wine, baseball/this one specific player, and constantly thinking "omg normal me would never do this, this is nuts!" Josh is just a super nice hot guy that is really nice to everyone he works with, has played baseball for a long time, and apparently is supposed to have anger issues/an injury. They meet and then instantly become each other's entire world. These two characters- the main ones at that- felt super underdeveloped and flat.
Also, Sharla SUCKED. I'm sorry, she did. She screwed everything up to begin with. While doing so she completely ignored Gretchen asking her to stop and just made everything worse. She wouldn't shut up when Gretchen and Josh were both clearly upset and wouldn't let up. Then when Josh tried to apologize 2 months later, she wouldn't even let Gretchen decide for herself if she wanted to hear what he had to say. Then blew up at Gretchen when she got back together with him. (Then was fine with it like 5 minutes later?) Sharla was incredibly controlling of Gretchen and just not a good friend. Her dynamic was really odd too?
The spicy scene, while not in any short supply, were clumsy and awkward to read ad not in a good way. They began to feel a little excessive.
This is all not to say that I didn't enjoy reading this book. It had all of the elements I love in a book and I could hardly put it down once I started. Thank you Netgalley and Wattpad Books for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

A sports romance with a smokin hot baseball p[layer?! Sign me up! This was such a cute and fun and quick read. Perfect for a Spring Training game day! Love a good heartwarming read.

This was such a fun quick read. I haven't had a chance to read many books where the guys is a baseball player and IM MISSING OUT BECAUSE ITS SO HOT. Go read this now.

This story stars Gretchen and Joshua. Gretchen is a huge baseball fan. Joshua is a major league baseball player and just so happens to be Gretchens favourite player. When shes awaiting a flight to Vegas... she sees Joshua from across the room and decides to buy him a coffee rather than ask for an autograph and thats when things really get interesting.
Overall the book was just okay for me. It was a fast and easy read but it was an instant love from the beginning sort of story which I think made it lack alot of depth. I also wasnt a big fan of the side characters and their actions in the story. But if you like sports romances with alot of steam it might be for you.

Thanks to @netgalley and the publisher for the digital ARC of this book.

The sports setting was what drew me to the book. And for the most part, it did not let me down. However, I do question the author’s knowledge of the game.
Out of His League is a very steamy, open-door romance. I do not have a problem with the steaminess. But I have an issue with how some of those encounters were written. Some of the ideas felt like the author picked random scenarios from a hat and put them together, and others felt like they were unrealistic fantasies the author had.

I am huge into baseball, so this was a fun plot to dive into. It is an easy, breezy read and I love the instant connection between the MC's. It can be hit or miss on instant connections. Sometimes they just feel forced, but this one was natural and made sense!
Not a huge fan of the language or the explicit content. It was easy to skim over, but closed door romance would have done well here! Five stars for plot and characters, 2 stars for explicit content. 4 overall!

I love a good rom-com book and definitely enjoyed the characters in this book. Gretchen seems to live by the rules, but throws those out when she is at the Toronto airport on her way to Las Vegas and sees her favorite baseball player Josh, "Mr. Sunshine". One cup of coffee changes Gretchen's whole life in a span of 48 hours.
While some of it seems not likely to happen in real life and you have moments of saying no way would that ever happen. However, you never know it may happen. I was definitely rooting for Gretchen and Josh the whole way through the book!

A chemistry driven insta-love sports romance about an injured MLB player finding comfort in the arms of a professional sommelier where the two have a chance meeting at the airport over a cup of coffee. Sexy and full of swoon moments, this is an easy read that will warm the cheeks and keep the steam lovers happy!
When Gretchen Harper sees her favorite MLB player disheartened at the airport she buys him a cup of coffee in hopes of cheering him up. The two hit it off immediately and end up spending the entire day together. Even though both of them thought it was a one time deal, they can’t seem to stop thinking about each other.
I have a lot of thoughts about this one. I loved the overall premise and the pace of the novel, but the storyline focused mainly on the hooking-up and I would have loved to see more of their conversations. This is probably my favorite read by an author from Wattpad, but the story is missing some elements of character development. I loved the steaminess, which is what kept me interested, but I needed more of Joshua and Gretchen’s background or an element of tension that made the story more exciting. Overall, a cute and quick hopelessly romantic read.

This book was a disapointment. It could use major editing and I see the potential. I was so hopeful after seeing the cover. I was very excited to read a baseball romance, but sadly this one was not it.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
This was cute! I loved the premise, but despite this being an insta-love story, it felt far too rushed, even for insta-love. I thought it had sweet elements, but it lacked a greater depth from the characters and the romance that I crave from my romance books. Cute idea, just lacks execution.

2/5
Did not finish, I really did not like it at all. I just could not finish it for some reason. I was really looking forward to reading and then i was disappointed.

I enjoy sports romances, but this one didn’t have much sports in it. Yes, the hero is an athlete, but he’s injured and has been sent down to the minors. So his sports career is first a question of the physical distance it would put between him and his love interest and then a question of how to deal with retirement. Plus there is the issue of his fandom and whether he can trust a beautiful woman who buys him a cup of coffee in the airport when she sees how down he seems about flying out to join the minor league team.
Their romance is instant and involves a lot of insta-lust on both sides. They become immediately attached to each others over basically two days and both feel that they’re in love with each other. They face complications and overcome them. And in between all of that they have a lot of sex.
I actually found myself more interested in the secondary couple whose romance is probably coming in a second book than I was with this book’s couple. I guess I’m just not a fan of insta-love/lust books that try to convince the reader that these two are soulmates after one weekend.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Very cute book! The way Gretchen and Josh met is so cute, every girls dream when meeting their celebrity crush. They had many cute and heart warming moments but I felt like the story was fast paced. Although we got enough from the characters I feel like we could have gotten a little bit more. It was a very cute story though!

The cover is what absolutely sold me because it's literally everything but it was a tad bit of a letdown. I wasn't aware this was on Wattpad first which honestly shout out to the author for getting this published. Kudos to them!
Miscommunication is a trope that I normally tend to stay away from and having it mixed with insta love was something I wasn't used to and took me a little longer to be able to get into the book. I think this is such a super cute idea of a plot but I just couldn't get myself invested into the romance of the two main characters.
I just thought it moved too fast to be able to really see any chemistry between the characters develop.
This just wasn't for me but it will probably be someone else's cup of tea.
Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing an eARC in exchange for a review!

This was a fun read! I really thought it was well written, and I loved the characters. I definitely see a sequel with this one. Fingers crossed.

I unfortunately, as hard I tried, couldn't get into this book. It had a great start but fell very flat early on and the whole format of it was extremely hard to read. The banter with the characters was cute but this was an "instalove" that did not work.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book had the potential to be so much more than what it was. Caroline Richardson had a great idea, but it just didn’t come together in the end, in my opinion.
I tried not to be bias, as I tend to hate “insta-love” or “insta-lust” stories. The beginning felt as though Gretchen was an obsessive fan and Josh was just looking for a distraction, which would have been FINE—if they had had any sort of character or relationship growth throughout the book. The main conflict was a minor miscommunication, which they didn’t even talk about, just decided to forget—because they both overreacted!
I had a very hard time believing there were actually emotions behind the characters. If you’re looking for a cute story without too much depth, then this would be perfect! The side-story romance of Sharla and Kevin stole the show. Is there a book about them? Because I would read that.
I really wanted to love this book, but I’d have to say the best thing about it is the cover. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

I'm sure this how we would all like a meeting with our crushes to go. They definitely don't waste any time (just like our fantasies) but trying to keep it relatable it could have slowed down a notch especially since the goal isn't just a one night stand. A bit more build up and storyline would help but I didn't hate it, just needed more.
I received an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley for my honest review.

I usually don't care much for the love at first sight with a famous person trope .. but this book was really cute! You can feel the chemistry between Gretchen and Josh and the obstacles they had to face were pretty realistic and not far fetched. I finished this book in one sitting! Easy and fun read.
