I really enjoyed this book. I love the archetypes of the dark goddesses. It's great because a lot of books only focus on the light, airy fairy goddesses. I highly recommend it.

Fresh and fierce idea - looking at feminism and witchcraft through the lens of amazing, powerful goddesses from ancient civilizations all across the world. Loved learning the stories of these wonderful spirits, and being inspired by Campbell's suggestions for rituals, writing prompts and meditations for each one.

I really love this story behind the dark goddess. It is a great tribute to Hecate and I think that she would be happy to be honored in such a way. It is very well written and includes a large amount of information.

This collection of guidance and development through a variety of deities was stunning. The beauty of the art, practices, and composition of the book drove me to purchase a physical copy of the book to reread and revisit.

Campbell compiles information that's digestible for those unfamiliar with the content while providing a comprehensive overview. The variety of information maintains the fast-paced aspect of the writing style.

I'd highly recommend this book to those interested in the lessons that can be learned from channelling energy from a variety of sources and within ourselves.

Really nice introductory profiles and ways to connect to the goddess given in this book. A good one for wanting a variety of connections.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I enjoyed reading and getting to know these 20 goddesses in a way that I had not before. The goddess I have been using in my magickal workings for decades now is Kali. I had to take notes to add to my journal to look to some of the other goddesses for a little help and focus. It has been a bit of a rough year and this helped focus my journaling and my magickal practices. The illustrations in this book are amazing. I will be referring back to this book as needed.

Holy Cow - I am literally buying this as holiday gifts for all my mythology lovers. Not only does this dive deep into mythology, but it features strong women with amazing stories and history!!!

I sat down to flip through this and ended up devouring this in one sitting. When will I learn that I am not a scan and come back kind of gal.

Lately, Greek mythology retellings have been super popular. I've always just went along with them and meant to go back and do more research. This book was an excellent resource for those that want to learn more about important mythology players and strong women to boot!

Thank you, NetGalley, Quarto Publishing Group, & Fair Winds Press for this review copy. I will definitely be purchasing a hard copy along with the many I plan on buying to gift! BRAVO - would recommend.

A fascinating insight into the rituals and mythology of the goddesses that underpin wiccan practice. Particularly powerful was the focus on goddesses traditionally associated with dark and nefarious intent, but reframing for positive impact. Each goddess is given not only a comprehensive background for context but also rituals and ways to implement in real life,  across both well-known and more secular figures in mythology. Visually, it is very engaging, with text set against beautiful illustrations reminiscent of tarot cards, an interesting insight into “witchcraft”.

This book is amazing. You get the backstory of the dark goddesses. There is a wonderful tribute to Hecate and the other goddesses. It is a great book for a beginner and as a basic introductory for someone who just wants to learn about the goddesses. I added this one to my library.

I have never read a book like this before and I was a little nervous reading it but I have always liked the idea of a goddess and I also love to learn about female lead roles, this is also great for a reference document.

I have always been interested in the mythology of the dark goddesses. These are women who are portrayed as being "evil" for not following societal norms. I do think that some of the rituals in the book would make for good meditations during savasanas at the end of a yoga practice.

It is exactly the kind of book I want in all the libraries.

Witches have been for centuries mistreated, punished, disappeared, vanished. We tell girls that they should be nice, and good, and considerate and naive and tamed. But why? There is a great amount of energy waiting to be unleashed in other emotions.

This books embraces these dark energies and uses them for good, but for the real good. Violence is not bad per se, not if you are using it to reject violence thrown upon you. Anger, and force can and should be use as warnings and as protection.

I applaud that this book let us navigate securely the rejected goddesses and their gifts.

Wrote down some spells and incantations. Incredibly useful book. Kudos!

The only thing that was a little bit dissapoiniting was the edition in some pages; when there was too much text it wasn't screen friendly. Maybe in the printed edition it will be OK.

This is a great introduction to a diverse variety of goddesses as well as different rituals to get you started. I liked the set up of this book, but wish that some of the goddesses were a bit more fleshed out. For example, some had one paragraph of introductory information while others had three to four. But I think this is definitely a great jumping off point for anyone trying to connect or work with different archetypes.
