Our children require assurance of our affection for them as well as security. This book does a great job of expressing that love. Never is it about what our kids do, but rather about who they are. A youngster who is aware of and secure in their parents' love for them develops into a compassionate person. Truly, it affects everyone differently!
This book was ok. I loved the message and the drawings. It didn't flow as much as I would have liked while reading it.
This book has such a wonderful message for parents and guardians to share with their children. The illustrations are beautiful as well!
As I read this book to my child, we both were engaged in the art and story. The message is solid and provides a good perspective on worth. I really enjoyed this opportunity to provide my feedback!
This is a cute and simple short children's story about children being loved no matter what.
It features beautiful illustrations and a nice message, although it also puts a bit emphasis on christianity, thus making it not as inclusive as it could be. Like, are children of other faiths not as good? Hope that's not the message the author was going for!
A beautiful reminder to give your children, to remind them how special they are. Each of us are unique, and special in our own way. For parents, this can serve as your reminder too! That you are also unique, as the children entrusted to your care. And it is not a mistake to put you in this household you call family.
This title is perfection, and a reminder that all adults and children need from time to time. This is the perfect books for all children, but especially the little perfectionists, who are continually trying so hard, are terrified of making mistakes, and may feel like they just aren’t enough when they make a mistake or don’t achieve perfection. This book is all about letting your little ones know how special, amazing, incredible, and loved they are with an overall message of “grace, not perfection”.
I loved Emily Ley’s You’re Always Enough and the message it shared. You’re Always Enough teaches children and adults alike that they are enough because God created them. It reminds us that no matter what happens—good or bad—we are still enough. I highly recommend this book. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.
This book is so amazing for kids! It is one of the most uplifting books I have ever read to my kids! Love it! Emily always writes amazingly!
Sweet and inspiring! With beautiful artwork and beautiful truths, this book encourages little ones to see themselves for who they really are—handcrafted masterpieces, made by God. Perfect for snuggle-time reading with littles. (And a lovely reminder for grown-ups too!)
This is such a sweet read for kids. It has a great message about being yourself and that always being enough, even when you are sad or mad or not feeling the best. This teaches kids that mistakes are ok. The art was fantastic and the book is described as being for children 4-8, which I found very appropriate for my 5 year old. This book would make a great gift for any child or baby shower.
Bottom Line: Read it! Perfect for kids.
**I received a copy of You’re Always Enough from Netgalley in exchange of my honest review. All opinions are of my own.**
This is a decent rhyming story, with not so hidden religion. The book stresses that no matter what you do, or who you are you are perfect because God made you that way. This book would be perfect if it didn’t stress that God made you that way. Why can’t they kids be perfect just because they are?
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a wonderful book for children. It has a fantastic message and the pictures are adorable!
I loved this book. It’s a great story/message and highly motivational for kids. My son loved. It. I love that he loved God! Beautiful illustrations as well.
An enlightening and uplifting read, especially for children, with a lovely message. This is about how you're always enough, just as you are being yourself mistakes and all. It's a special and uplifting message about how you're special, one of a kind, always enough, and how God made you enough as you are.
This has wonderful and well-done artwork and illustrations with a great message for children. My kids love this story with the pictures and everything in it. It's a brilliant book to read at bedtime or anytime, really.
Thanks so much to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Children's/ Thomas Nelson for letting me read and review this heartwarming, uplifting, and special book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book is absolutely fantastic. Perfectly aimed at children, it couldn’t be better to build them up and assure them that they truly are enough. In a world where we strive for perfection, this breaks the mould and lets your child know they are perfect as they are, no matter their current mood or feelings. The illustrations are just beautiful, and really captivating for a child, and the rhyming language makes it engaging and fun. What a stunning reassuring confidence booster for any parent / carer to read with their child(ren). I couldn’t recommend this highly enough!
Thank you to Thomas Nelson: CHILDREN'S and Netgalley for an eARC of this book to read and review.
I instantly read this to my kids. When I finished reading my 7-year-old son asked, “Mommy, am I always enough for you?” It was so heartwarming to see the smiles on their faces and their excitement noticing all of the little details throughout the book.
Speaking of little details, I love the beautiful illustrations in this book as well as the diverse characters. As for the writing, the message is so sweet and important for our kiddos. Things are not always going to be easy and they will have struggles—we all do. Regardless, we will always love them. They are special and they are ENOUGH. I’ve dealt with anxiety all of my life, but didn’t realize that’s what it was until I was in my late teens (it’s just not something that was ever talked about to me). I see both of my kids have anxious moments and I think the message from this book with help them through those tough moments. When I see the anxiety creeping in, I will remind them, “…just focus deep inside your heart and gather all your strength. Remember you have what you need to get through anything.”
I’ve been following Emily Ley for a while now. I’ve loved her products as well as the books she’s written, so I was very excited when she announced she was giving a children’s book to the world. Boy, did she deliver. 💗
This truly is such a delightful book and would make an excellent gift for a new baby or birthday of a young child. I’ll definitely be purchasing a copy for the library at my daughter’s preschool.
Side note: I LOVE that this book does not have a dust jacket that I have to fight when reading it… or remove to prevent it from getting ripped by little hands. The cover is vibrant and embossed with a matte finish.
This book is overtly religious and while I support the message that children should feel like they’re enough just the way they are, I don’t think “You’re Always Enough” achieves this message. On one hand, it says “you’re enough” but then shows the kid successfully riding a bike, baking cookies, painting, playing soccer, etc. Later, the text reads. “But most of all I love how you try conquer all.” So…which is it? Do you love me based on my intangible qualities or because I conquer all? Odd. Also, it’s so ridiculously insular. Even though there are other children in the pictures, the book focuses solely on “you.” I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised because it’s a religious book and we wouldn’t want to just go around saying it’s enough for our neighbors to be themselves, right - who knows what kind of people they are! So, yeah, let’s just focus on you, our perfect baby and to heck with the other kids on the page. Oh wait, there is a reference to them - the fact that they might make you feel excluded and hurt your feelings and not to forget that they aren’t perfect either. Any line about them being enough too? Nope, just you. Got it.
I was looking for a book to read to my child who struggles with perfectionism and accepting herself but this isn’t the book for us.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a sweet, feel-good book for young kids with a loosely Christian message. Even my toddler was enthralled, which these days is a feat in itself!
The illustrations that have an old-timey feel. The message is sweet, but its delivery is clunky at times. Parts of the story are thoughtful and uplifting, while others just come across as fluff.
Overall, I think this is a lovely book that could definitely make an expectant mama cry at a baby shower and give really young kids some sweet encouragement.
Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review!
This is the book that my six year old daughter needed at this moment.
The way this book is so well written, with positivity, diversity, and just overall uplifting set a great tone for a wonderful read. My daughter has had lots of questions and between God and the diversity of the characters this really hit home for us. I got this book as an e-book ARC but will be looking to purchase it as a hardback too.
