The illustrations are beautiful. The diverse cast was great. The book isn't described as religious, but there are several references to "God." It would be helpful if this was part of the description so that patrons looking for religious books could find it.
Beautiful artwork with nice rhyming text. It is important for children to know that no matter what they are unique and always enough.
Thanks to Netgalley and Tommy Nelson for a free digital copy.
A wonderful book about how God made you enough as you are. The illustration are frame worthy and the message very touching.
Beautiful message and beautiful illustrations. I was, however, disappointed at first that author Emily Ley didn’t also do the artwork…until I looked it up and realized I was thinking of a different Christian author Emily who is also a painter. Ha!
Well, the illustrations were simply beautiful and really well done. So in the end there was nothing to be disappointed about! Great children’s book. Important message with a great rhyme and rhythm.

What a sweet book! This message of this story is absolutely beautiful, and something that I think a lot of children need to hear. The illustrations were gorgeous, and I loved the diversity and representation throughout the book. Almost any child could read this and see someone that looks like them and hear that they are enough. Such a precious story and one I think any parent should ready to their child!
As always, Emily has proven to have a beautiful way with words. The illustrations are fantastic and the message beautiful. I look forward to adding this to my children's book collection and am so thankful to have had the opportunity to preview it.
Emily Ley writes a beautiful, encouraging message to children in this book. The fun, colorful illustrations make this book a must-read for children (and adults!) of any age.
I love everything about this book! The message is clear and needs to be heard by all, especially young children. The illustrations are adorable and meaningful. I love how inclusive they are of different children off all shades, colors, sizes and abilities. This will be my go to new baby gift!
I absolutely loved this book! As a mother of three I truly appreciated this message and plan to buy a copy for each if my little ones. The message was so beautifully written in a fun and entertaining way. The illustrations were perfection, showing such diversity and inclusion. I love Emily Ley and how her heart shows through everything she does! I will forever be a fan of both her and this book!
Emily Ley knocks it out of the park with this children's book! It is so encouraging to have a book to read to children that encourages them to seek the Lord always! I also give extra stars to this book for being inclusive & including children with special needs! Our world needs more of this!
Absolutely loved this. Fantastic message for kids of all ages to hear, and the drawings are diverse and inclusive. We aren't a religious family, so I did replace a few of the parts where it talked about god with my own words but this was really easy to do and only in a few parts. But I just really love this message and want my daughters to internalize that no matter what, they are enough and that I love them no matter what they do. I don't think they can hear that enough. I hope this is one that we will read over and over again.
Thank you to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this free e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
I received an electronic ARC from Thomas Nelson: CHILDREN'S through NetGalley.
Ley has created a charming book of encouragement for young readers. She takes readers through so many feelings and scenarios that will happen in everyone's life. The illustrations are delightful and colorful and bring out warmth when studied. The message of "being enough" is particularly timely as so many children struggle with challenges and messages of what they lack. This is a terrific family read aloud to empower the children in our lives and affirm how incredible they are by simply being who they are.
I really love the message of this book, and I'm glad that childrens authors are making such an effort to write books that make children feel good about themselves.
From the words to illustrations, I loved everything about this book. I loved the diversity in the representation and how uplifting every moment of this book was.
The illustrations of this book were beautiful and the message of being enough is so perfect! Absolutely buying for my daughter!
This is a lovely story that explains to children even when they are having big emotions, they are still loved and we are there for them. I like the theme that no matter what they go through, they are enough and they do not have to worry about us not being there for them. I also liked the promotion of inclusion and kindness. The illustrations were beautiful and really helped to tell the story.
Thank you Thomas Nelson: Childrens and NetGalley for access to this ARC.
A lovely book about being good enough for who you are.
You’re Always Enough is about building up children’s mind about being good enough. I thought the book’s rhyming and diverse artwork was amazing. When I wanted to read this book, I did not know it had a Christian angle, but that didn’t matter. I thought it was a good read even as a non-believer of God.
What I did miss was that the children could be more gender breaking, that the girls did more typical guy stuff and not just have long hair, for example. I know you can’t get everything into such a small space as a children’s book, but I missed that.
Other than that, it was a fun and cute read, and a worthwhile book. I recommend it.
Happy reading!♥️
This is a really sweet book! I love the message and my 1 year old twins loved the pictures. My girls loved the rhymes too. I really liked that it was made clear they no one is perfect but they are enough.
What a beautiful book that builds self-confidence and helps children understand that their worth comes from their Creator, not from what they accomplish.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced peek at this ebook. We’ll definitely get this from the library or purchase a copy, and I look forward to enjoying the gorgeous illustrations in a physical book at that time.
This is a lovely story that is beautifully illustrated. This would make a great read aloud any time of the day but especially at bedtime to remind children of how wonderfully created and loved by their Father they really are. Children of all ages need to hear the life affirming words that Emily Ley has written and see the beautiful picutres that Romina Galotta has illustrated. I will be adding this book to our collection when it comes out.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book for my honest opinion.
This book is magical. Reading it felt like you could just jump on the pages. The illusions are simply gorgeous! Love it all the way! A great book for children.
You're Always Enough and More Than I Hoped For by Emily Ley is a wonderful children's book for kids of all ages (and adults, too)! The book describes how you will always be enough, even if you're mad, picked last, or feel like you can't do something. The book does mention God in a couple of places, but it is not rooted in Christianity. My favorite part of this book are the illustrations by Romina Galotta. The illustrations are beautifully designed, and are inclusive of children of all abilities, genders, races, etc. Overall, this is a wonderful book to build a child's confidence, and I will be gifting it to friends and family for years to come!
This is a beautiful children’s book. The messaging is clear and affirming and just deeply gorgeous. The rhythm is perfect. The illustrations are wonderful. The wording of every line just breathes empathy and gentleness into the reader. I liked that although Ley is a Christian and the book is written from that life experience, God as mentioned in the book is not specified as the Christian god. I would highly recommend this book for all parents to read with their children. This book is special.
You're enough when you are angry.
You're enough when you're picked last.
You're enough when you have questions.
You're enough when you are sad.
You're Always Enough is the book I wish I had as a vulnerable child with big feelings and even bigger worries. Through delightful rhymes and beautiful art, the message of being enough for the God and the ones who love you shines bright. Young or old, we all need to be reminded that we are enough, just as we are.
This book is such an empowering and needed book in every young child’s library. It needs to be in every school. This is what we need to be teaching our children. I know I personally could have used this as a child and it was wonderful to read. The message that You are Always Enough is perfect!
Yes to this! I love this message about being enough as you are, including when kiddos feel hard feelings. What an incredible message that kids are perfect just as they are! I will be buying for sure!
"You're Always Enough" is a sweet little book that for some reason made me a little bit emotional. This book is to show kids that they may not be perfect and that's ok because they are still enough and they are loved and appreciated by their family and more importantly God. The art style is beautiful and I love how diverse the characters are. I highly recommend this book. I feel like this would be a great gift.
Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this ARC.
This is a really cute, confidence building book for kids. Illustrations are great with lots of cultural diversity. Knowing that Thomas Nelson is a religious publisher, I did expect to see the religious references. From the description of the book on Netgalley, there's nothing there to tell you that it is a religious book. For those that aren't Christian, they may be in for a surprise. I think this will be a good fit for Christian families with little ones. The lesson can also be applied to older kids and even adult. God knows I needed that message as a teenager.
Our children need to be affirmed and secure in our love for them. This book communicates that love very well. It is never about what our children do but who they are. A child that knows and is confident in their parents love for them, grows to be kind to others. It really does make a difference for everyone!
A special thank you to Thomas Nelson and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
“You’re Always Enough” by Emily Ley is a sweet book for parents and children to read together. Lines of words generally rhyme and the illustrations are lovely, making the book appealing for young children to enjoy alongside an adult reader.
The book’s premise of children being wonderful as they are, for they are made by God, is only mentioned two or three times, though the general secular sentiment of being “enough” is clear throughout the book.
I like that the illustrator includes children and adults of various ethnicities enjoying each other and in scenes that are common to most families. Blanket forts are featured on almost every page, a childhood favorite for sure! Both mother and father figures are shown and a mixed-race couple rounds out the final illustration, making the book inclusive of many family types.
I believe the book will appeal to young children via beautiful illustrations and even to young readers with its simple words and repeated message that all of us are “enough”!
What a sweet story! I've been a fan of Emily Ley for quite a while and have read several of her other books. You're Always Enough has a great message for young kids. I love that there are themes of faith and God. I think this will be a great book to encourage children in who they are. The illustrations are also super cute.
Emily Ley's You're Always Enough is a beautiful encouragement to children and grown-ups alike. A great parent-child gift for first day of school, graduation, or just a normal Tuesday, Ley highlights the importance of being yourself, whatever mood or feeling you are in that day and gently reminds that "enough" is not the same as "perfect". Romina Galotta's warm and detailed illustrations show a variety of adventures amongst family and friends. You're Always Enough: And More Than I Hoped For is in the vein of Munsch's Love You Forever.
This book is absolutely beautiful. It’s not only for children but as a busy mum of 3 it also reminded me to slow down and how proud I am and how much I love my children. It’s perfect just to give that little reminder when needed without over complicating it for little minds
A sweet, gentle rhyme takes you through this beautifully-illustrated book about being "enough" under all circumstances. I found the illustrations to be particularly striking, and although it shared a familiar message of being you, I loved the incorporation of faith in the narrative. In one spread, the author repeated the "you're enough" mantra under unconventional situations like being angry or getting picked last, which I found very profound for picture book readers. The ending was powerful and inspiring! Overall, a lovely read-aloud for the youngest of audiences.
The ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I love that this adorable rhyming story about self-confidence speaks to the true worth of children, that they’re made in the image of God. The illustrations are cute and offer representation of many different types of children and families.
