I really, really like this CBT book. I am familiar already with some of the CBT exercises mentioned such as worry time. The chapters I found particularly useful were on those on relaxation exercises and getting mobilized through activity scheduling. This is something I can see myself putting into practice.
I also loved this quote in the book which really hit home - ‘ Many of these exercises are boring, But they work. Practicing them becomes the trade off: a few weeks of boredom in exchange for years of freedom from unwanted symptoms. This is the choice you may have to make every day when you do these exercises.’
I really hope and want to commit to doing the exercises in this book. Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advance copy. This book will help so many people.
i have to say, this is one of the best self-help/cbt books i've read. it is packed with step-by-step techniques that are thoroughly explained, but still concise. i really loved how all the techniques were practical and actionable. additionally, links for free worksheets are provided throughout the book so you can start practicing these methods immediately.
as someone who struggles with anxiety and depression, i would recommend a copy of this for anyone else dealing with these issues. i've practiced using these techniques in the past, and i think this book in particular is a great introduction and resource.
An excellent introduction to the subject of how to observe your thoughts, recognize when they're false, and work to change them so they can serve you better.
This is like a mental health coach for your brain. We all get caught up in negative self talk and destructive thinking. This book shows you how to retrain your brain to stop the negative thoughts and gives you strategies to enable you to change those negative thoughts into something more positive. A simple, useful book.
This does exactly what it says on the tin: it's a simple, straightforward guide to the basics of CBT that is very accessible and easy to understand. It clearly explains the core concepts and includes lots of helpful, relatable examples. There are many suggested exercises to help readers apply the principles to their own situation. This would a great read for anyone who struggles with anxiety, low moods, and/or discouraging thoughts. It's a very useful resource!
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
Super Simple CBT is an easy-to-follow quick read that would be great for beginners. This is also a nice review for those who are already familiar with CBT techniques. The simplicity and practicality of this book would make it an excellent introduction for anyone who is curious about trying CBT. Highly recommend and I’d love to purchase a copy to come back to when needed!
This book gave really simple examples of ways to change your everyday, even every moment thinking. When you change the small things, the whole day somehow feels better. Changing the negative associations in how you view the world creates a better world.
This accurately represents what it claims to be: super simple tips for confronting anxious thoughts, etc. I think it is very beginner-friendly so anyone without a psychology background and/or who has never gone to therapy will easily be able to follow along and understand. I wish it would have gone a bit deeper and provided ideas I haven't heard of before, but overall it is exactly what it claims to be (simple, easy to understand).
As a psychologist, I was impressed by this book. As a guide to CBT, it is thorough, yet concise. I believe many readers will benefit from the information and techniques provided…particularly when presented in such an accessible, “user-friendly” style.
This book is exactly what it proponents to be: a primer on basic concepts of CbT and six exercises based in CBT that help combat depression and anxiety. Accessiblly written and easy to quickly put into practice.

Super Simple CBT is an informative read for anyone struggling with anxiety. The text is simple and not bogged down with complex jargon and very easy to understand and the techniques easy to implement, It’s helpful to read how much our thoughts contribute to and cause our feelings and in turn how we can change our feelings by changing our thoughts.
