My first read by Lucy Score and won't be my last. I loved everything about this book. Maggie is a YouTube star and purchases a home from her childhood memories. She hires a ton of local professionals to help with the flip and the "hot landscaper" is sure that she's his future Mrs. Wright.
Honestly this was a perfect read in my opinion there was love, drama, a little mystery and tears. I especially enjoyed the wrap up at the end so we knew how fate took all the characters.
I absolutely adored this book!! This is my first time reading a Lucy Score book and I instantly fell in love with Maggie and Silas. The chemistry between these two characters were off the charts and I wanted to have a Silas of my own too. The secondary characters were wonderful and I would absolutely love to have more from these characters in the future. One of my favorites this year!!!
I was immediately sucked into by the description of the run down Queen Anne Victorian Mansion that becomes Maggie’s newest flip. I adore books with interesting old houses as the focal point. As the Author put it, “a buried treasure waiting to be unearthed”. This book was amazing from the very start.
All aspects of this book had me absorbed. The progress of the flip, the cozy small town it was set in, the amazing chemistry and romance between Maggie and Silas (Spicy/Silas and his dirty talk …oh my🥵) Maggie’s work partner Dean who was hilarious, all of Silas’s family, Cody, Dayana and even Wallace. I loved how the story line kept evolving. It just got better and better as it progressed. I can’t say enough great things about this book. It made me smile, laugh out loud several times and was such a feel good book all around. I also loved how the chapters ended with fan comments on YouTube and the ridiculous ones people sometimes write 😂
The added in mystery was a really nice touch too. The story was incredible on its own, but I loved how the mystery unfolded as well. This book was fantastic. It really was an awesome story. 5 glowing stars for me! Definitely check this one out if you haven’t already. Thank you @netgalley and @grandcentralpub for this arc for my honest review.
I adored this book. Maggie is a home renovator/flipper with a million subscribers to her YouTube show who thinks she will never settle down. Enter Silas, aka Hot Landscaper Guy, who immediately takes to her and charms her pants off. This book is hot, fun, adorable without being cheesy, and even has a mystery subplot. I really loved it and I hope you do too! Thanks to Forever Pub for the copy via NetGalley! This book came out in June so you can read it now!
I LOVED THIS BOOK. it was everything i love from a lucy story but on steroids. small town!! hero falls first!! meddling dog!! ex husband / best friend !! honestly i can’t stop yelling at people about this one

Sadly, this one wasn’t for me. I liked the first chapter but once the love interest was introduced I couldn't stop rolling my eyes. I’m not a fan of insta-love and that’s exactly what this book is. I prefer the romances I read to have some type of foundation but that’s just me! The attraction between them felt too forced and Silas was definitely my least liked character. He felt too stereotypical and I just wasn’t an overall fan of him which then made it hard to truly get into the story. I could have looked past the insta-love if the main love interest was at least likable. I did love Maggie’s character and how she showed character growth throughout the story. I liked that she was determined and would do anything she put her mind to no matter how big of a job. I also really loved how the story was written. I thought the author did a great job writing the setting as well as making the reader feel the emotions. Overall, this one was a miss for me but I do know it’s popular. So if you want a cute romance then I would recommend it. Just because I didn’t care for it doesn’t mean you won’t love it. Definitely try it and let me know what you think!
Thank you so much @readforeverpub for the gifted copy on #netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ahhhh, this is everything I love in and romcom and more! The writing is witty, fun, heartwarming, realistic, and smart! The characters are well crafted and well-rounded and I really loved every single one! The plot is engaging and entertaining. There’s nothing I didn’t love about this book, nothing! It’s my first book by this author and it most certainly won’t be the last.
This was my first Lucy Score and let's just say I am 100% a fan! I cannot wait to go read her backlist.
I loved this book! Maggie and Silas were so perfect for each other. I am not usually a fan of insta love, but the way Silas is team Maggie for the beginning was done so well and made my heart swoon. He is book boyfriend goals for sure. And can we talk about steam?!? The chemistry and spice in this book were perfect!
Th home renovation theme was what really drew me to this book because I am a huge HGTV fan. It was fun to read a book with that premise.
Lastly, I loved the found family aspect in this book, The way Maggie cared for Cody and Dean was so special. I really enjoyed seeing her development as a character and the way she was able to let down her walls. I also really loved Silas' family and his relationship with them. It reminded me a lot of my own family.
If you're looking for a steamy romance with some depth definitely grab this one!
Loved 👏🏻 it 👏🏻 exactly what I needed!
Also! New fav couple added to the list 😍😍 Maggie & Silas were fabulous 💕 a breath of fresh air, unstoppable, & realistic in so many ways!
Maggie was one strong lady! Not only could she pretty well build a house, but she was a mega star while doing it! And Silas 😍 he was a fun, quick witted character full of surprises! Then there was Kevin 🐶🥰 a cutie with a heart of gold (Fun fact: my sister has a dog named Kevin too & he’s a sweetie!)
Not only did I love the main characters, but the supporting characters also brought so much! They were fun, relatable, & kept everyone on their toes 💕
This was my first book by this author, but I already have another ready to start! I really liked the writing, the pacing, & the dual POV 👏🏻 I’m looking forward to reading more from Lucy!
Overall verdict: A banter filled, flirty, funny, home reno that will leave you with your heart full & stars in your eyes✨
Thank you @readforeverpub for an early copy of this amazing read 💕💕
I love Lucy Score, but this book just didn’t do it for me. I could not get into the characters. Silas was too pushy for starters.
Ok I know this review is so late but I would love to thank Netgalley and the publisher (and Lucy of course) for giving a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was so cute. Honestly anything by Lucy Score is an automatic favourite for me! I would love to see a follow up book about other siblings/friends. I definitely think it this could be a whole series and I would eat it up!
I cannot wait to read my next Lucy Score book and if you have not read Maggie Moves On you should definitely add it to your TBR!
Ahhhhhhh I loved this book! It was so fun and flirty and I loved the love interest. There was so much chemistry between the protagonist and the love interest and as an avid HGTV watcher, this book was right up my alley! I definitely recommend this book!
Lucy Score does it again with Maggie Moves On. I loved Things We Never Get Over, so when I saw her new book, I knew I needed to read it ASAP. Lucy Score is now my latest auto-buy author. Maggie Moves On is a fun romcom with a mix of the History Channel with HGTV. All the characters were well developed and hilarious. I want to live in their small town! Silas stole my heart with his confidence, charm, and humor. I highly recommend the audiobook because the narration brought this story and characters to life!
Thank you, Forever and Hachette Audio, for my complimentary copies.
The steam, the banter & dialogue, the small town, the cast of characters! I really enjoyed this and it was my first by Lucy Score. Rounded up to 5 stars!
I love a good small town/house flipping story and this one somewhat hit the spot. It was fun and steamy in all of the right places, but I could not get over the controlling behavior of Silas. His alpha male behavior was little over the top and took me out of the story at times. He could be so sweet/sensitive one moment and then flip the switch another. I believe that the story had more potential if the connection was more than insta-love and developed over time. The ending also was predictable and tied together too perfectly.
All that being said, I do really like Lucy Score’s writing style and will definitely pick up another of her books in the future.
I very much enjoyed this book. It was the perfect stay-cation/poolside read. Good characters, fun story, and lots of humor I highly recommend.
*Thank you to the publisher Forever and Netgalley for an ARC copy, in exchange for an honest review!*
Liked: Small town romance, with a HGTV-style, house-flipper Youtuber heroine and her sexy contractor/landscaper. Hero has the cutest dog ever.
Disliked: Way too many subplots that I didn't care much for. Silas the hero was instantly in love at first sight for no reason, so the romance fell quite flat for me (and the length of the book didn't help too).
A bit of a disappointment following the success of Things We Never Got Over, so I think I'll stick to Lucy Score's indie romances for now.
Maggie is always on the move buying old homes and remodeling them into fabulous homes. Never letting time pass between the completion of one and starting the other. Her latest project has her employing almost the entire town and falling in love with the landscaper? Will Maggie Nichols finally settle down?
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to listen to Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score in exchange for my honest feedback.
This was my first Lucy Score book and definitely not my last. While this didn’t blow me away it definitely was good and I love a good house flipping storyline, especially as we’re moving into a new house lol. This was over 400 pages which isn’t really my cup of tea so it felt long winded at time. This was also a smutty read but not a ton of it…but the steamy scenes were def steamy. The story line is cute and I liked the bit of role reversal (the girl was the contractor and the guy was the landscaper). As I write this I’m in the middle of Things We Never Got Over & I think i’m liking that one better so far even though its literally a million pages. This still was for sure a cute little book!
A cute but formulaic rom-com. It would make a fun movie if Discovery plus (who carries HGTV) decided to make another movie or a more edited version pops up on the Hallmark channel. I honestly only picked this up because of the dog on the cover. An easy afternoon distraction or fun beach read.
