The latest book from Lucy Score is such a fun romcom! I binged the book in a day last month and it gets all the stars from me.
I was laughing out loud from the start and the whole book just made me so damn happy. The banter between the main characters as well as the friends and family was romcom gold.
I couldn’t get enough of Maggie and Silas’ flirty relationship and I was rooting hard for their HEA. Maggie was a terrific main character, although just reading about everything she was up to exhausted me. I would never have the energy or patience to flip a house, especially a historic one!
The book also had excellent supporting characters that were well detailed without overtaking the main storyline. I love when side characters have a little mini journey of their own.
Something else I loved about this book? It takes place in IDAHO! Woot woot! Although the place is fictional (I’m pretty sure?!), I could completely envision the town Score described. But where can I find a cutie home goods store like the one in the book?!
The little bit of mystery in this book added a fun element to the book, but the house rehab and the romance were my favorite parts. And of course the dog Kevin and the kittens!

Thank-you NetGalley and publisher for the chance to review this ARC.
I'm a big fan of Lucy Score so I was so excited for this one I mean just look at this adorable cover!
This did not disappoint! It was cute and fun and it had a lot of heart with wonderful characters. The social media aspect here was really well developed a lot of times books try to use this and it falls flat but it worked here.
I can't wait to read what's next here!

House flipping is a lot of work. Maggie has a tall order in front of her, but determination will be her strength. The problem is that when you aren't looking for love, it generally tends to find you. Silas is ready to renovate Maggie's heart. I can tell you that he is certainly melting mine... Or maybe that's something else?
Of course, when this happens, decisions must be made. I always say to trust your heart (or your gut), but Maggie's is currently a puddle, right?

If you were rehabbing an old home what features would you hope to have? Easy for me - front porch, stained glass windows, a gorgeous staircase, and pocket doors.
.
Maggie Moves On follows Maggie and Dean who have a YouTube home improvement series, and go from improving one home to another, without stopping to live in between. They find themselves in Idaho, restoring an old home with ties to a stagecoach robbery and an author. Maggie and Dean entrench themselves with the locals and suddenly the idea of not having roots is no longer something they want. Cue the hot landscaper (romance!), an adorable dog, kittens, a high schooler, a curmudgeon, a town of characters, and a mystery!
Thank you to @netgalley and @readforeverpub for the ARC, I apologize for the review after publication…

This is my first book by Lucy Score and certainly won't be my last! The romcom combines two of my favorite things - home improvement and reality TV - with a delightful small town setting, a kooky dog, fantastic secondary characters, excellent queer rep and some believable drama. So so good! 4.5 stars
Thanks to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for the copy to review.

I've read a few books with home reno plots recently and this has been my favorite. Despite owning a few Lucy Score books, this is the first one that I've made the time to sit down and read. Verdict: I loved it! The banter was great. The open door romance was spicy. Silas is my new book boyfriend. I am not usually one for insta-love but I loved his attitude and how he just knew that Maggie was the one for him. I even cared about the secondary characters (yes, even grumpy Wallace). I read this one and then switched to listening to my audiobook from the library when in the car. Emma Wilder did a great job at the narration. Rating: 4.5 stars rounded up...barely missing the full 5 for me personally because of length and number of side plots but even those made sense for a small town romance.

This was just the first Lucy Score novel, and although I struggled through it (so much italic font), I definitely will not be the last. I adore all things HGTV, so when I read this summary, I knew I had to read it. Maggie is a YouTube Channel star with almost a million followers flipping houses. She heads to the small town in kinship, Idaho, hoping to restore a crumbling mansion. There she meets sexy landscaper Silas (who falls first), and Maggie does her best not to fall in love with him or the charming town. The found family, the HILARIOUS BANTER, and the steam made this a 5-star read for me; the only reason it is knocked down to a four is for readability. I prefer to hold a paperback in my hand, and this font was a struggle for me to get through. The words just kept floating off the page. My fellow dyslexic friends should pick this up on eBook or audio because it's still a must-read in my book. Link in my bio for my full review & don't forget to pick up your copy today.
What Lucy Score Book should I pick up next?
Thanks to Netgalley and Forever pub for the advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

On paper this should have been a 5 star read for me. HGTV style romance between a You-tube home fixer upper and the "hot landscaping guy." A found family romance with cute animals, a grumpy gay BFF, and a town with tons of heart complete with memorable characters.
I liked the story, I liked the characters, but my God, it was soooo slooowwww. It took me almost 2 weeks to read this. Two weeks?!?! That is unheard of for me.
The problem wasn't the story, it was the execution. There is entirely too much description and not enough dialogue. I counted one chapter and it took 8 pages before there was ever any dialogue. 8 pages! I didn't sign up for a Walt Whitman style prose, I wanted a rom-com! Too much description about the house, the design, it was too HGTV in that sense. I get trying to paint a mental picture, but leave something for the reader's imagination to fill in the blanks. There were two instances where they mention grilling burgers and hot dogs, and both times, it had to be said they had beef, turkey, and veggie burgers?? I don't care, LOL! You could have left it at they grilled out. It was just overly descriptive, making it long and really hard to get through. I even skimmed the steamy/sexy times because I was just bored and Silas' bedroom talk was sort of cringe for me, I dunno. I finished only because it was a Netgalley read, otherwise it would have been a DNF after I was still only 30% through with a week of reading under my belt. There are too many books out there to waste time on something that isn't doing it for you.
I did enjoy the last 20% a lot, so if you do pick it up, the end was the best for me. I'm giving it three stars because it wasn't a bad story, I just really didn't enjoy the execution.

2.5 stars. I am sad that I didn't love this book. Lucy Score books are always a big hit or a big miss for me. This one was unfortunately a miss. Maggie Moves On is Maggie's story. She is a Youtube star who travels the country renovating houses. Her newest project brings her to a small town in Idaho. She meets a hot landscaper, Silas, and a whole crew of small town characters. She likes the town and Silas, but pushes everyone away because she doesn't want to settle down and live in one place.
This book had a lot of potential. The story was a cute idea. But it was just too slow and had a very big lack of chemistry. Not a lot happened in the book at all. I considered not finishing it, but powered through with little satisfaction. I didn't really like Maggie. She was prickly and standoffish. The rest of the characters were fine, nothing special. Silas was nice enough, but he romance was just meh. The glimpse into the future at the end was a bullet point section of where are they now that I found pretty bizarre.
Overall, this was not a great read for me. It had all the ingredients to be a good book, but fell far short. I think I will think twice before picking up a book by this author in the future.

Sweet mother of grapefruit!!! This book was... AMAZING. I read Things We Never Got Over and thought there is no way Lucy Score can top it but man oh man did she get damn close!!! Silas Wright is without a doubt the flirtiest MMC I have EVER read and it absolutely destroyed me!!!! I was grinning so damn hard! There are so many cute and awesome twists and turns in this book and watching Maggie progress as a character was so beautiful. The end surprises in the book blew me away!!! Lucy Score is absolutely a new auto buy author for me!!!! This has guy falls INSTANTLY (I'm sorry but its the best fucking trope ever, fight me), found family that is so beautifully misplaced and dysfunctional, small town but make it 10,000x adorable, strong AF FMC and plot twist that made this book fly by. DON'T SLEEP ON THIS GUYS!!!!

Gotta love a new read by Lucy Score 🥰 Her books always leave me feeling sappy and happy, and this one did not let me down!
Maggie runs a home renovation YouTube channel which keeps her from settling down in one place. Her next project takes her to a small town in Kinship, Idaho to tackle a very old and dilapidating mansion. There she meets Silas (& his loveable pit bull Kevin), the local landscaper that she hires onto the project. She finds herself slowly falling for him, the town, and the people in the town. However, she’s consistently trying to keep herself from putting down roots in Kinship.
I absolutely loved the setting of this book and all of the side characters. In my opinion, it’s what made the book so loveable. It made ME want to move to Kinship 😂
There were a lot of different storylines occurring which was a little confusing at time. However, they all came together in the end which left me satisfied.
I will say the romance aspect was kinda meh for me. Silas was too pushy and Maggie too indecisive (for too long) for me to enjoy their relationship. The best part about the book was watching Maggie form relationships with all of the side characters.

🔨 a fluffy lil mystery
Overall, it was a comforting read that left me feeling happy ☺️

DNF for now.
I just couldn't get into this book. The writing was fine but the story just wasn't for me. I had zero investment in the hero and heroine getting together. It might just be a not-right-now story for me and I will try to come back to it later.
*I recieved an ARC from NetGalley for voluntary review.

I really fell in love with this book. I loved all the characters & how they had real & found family. I loved Kevin & the kittens for comic relief, Silas's siblings & patents were just perfect. I also loved the growth we saw in Maggie & being on the joubey withher to fall in love with Silas, his family, & Kinship.

This was an enjoyable story inspired by all those home renovation shows on TV. Maggie Nichols has her own YouTube show flipping houses. She has purchased a crumbling mansion in Kinship, Idaho planning to renovate/restore and flip it in four months. Everything is falling into place, and then she meets hot and sexy landscaper, Silas Wright. Not only does he ramp up her heartbeat, but his dog, Kevin is hilarious. There is immediate attraction, but Maggie is only interested in a fling, she has no intention of settling down. As they get to know each other, it might be harder to keep it casual.
This is my first Lucy Score book and I really enjoyed her writing style. The banter between Maggie and Silas was excellent and had me laughing, and the dog..... I loved Kevin, although probably not in my house. All the characters were well developed and even the secondary ones were relatable and likable. The pace and plot moved along well and kept me interested from start to finish. I loved the ending and finished this one with a smile on my face. There is some steam, but I enjoyed the story so much, it didn't bother me. I will be picking up more books by Lucy Score. I definitely recommend this audiobook.

Love this story of Maggie! These characters are so easy to fall in love with! You're hoping for the best for them all from the very beginning!

I'm so happy to be reviewing Maggie Moves On, because there's so much about this book that I want to discuss and talk about! This book follows Maggie who has a YouTube channel where she flips houses and records the process. When she takes on her biggest project yet in Kinship, Idaho, the landscaping contractor she hires, Silas, is determined to get her to finally set down some roots.
This book is such a fun and happy book. There's a lot going on in terms of plot, and I think that helped to balance the slightly insta-lovey romance that occurred. When I first started this book and saw Silas declare that he was going to marry Maggie from their very first meeting, I was a bit hesitant about the romance. But while I'm still not the biggest fan of how Silas approached it in the beginning, the more I read, the more I began to root for this couple to not only get together, but to figure out some way for them to both be happy while staying together. Silas is so warm and friendly and kind and will do anything for those he loves. Once he's decided that Maggie is the one for him, he does his utmost to show her why he'd be such a great partner. His actions were the things that convinced me in the end that he really was perfect for Maggie.
Maggie, however, is dealing with a lot, and the last thing she needs is a romantic relationship with Silas to add as a complication. She's focused on renovating an abandoned mansion, growing her YouTube channel, all while dealing with her complicated past, and her uncertain future. And things only get more complicated as a mystery is uncovered and she starts developing feelings for Silas.
I really enjoyed how everything about this book unfolded. There were a lot of plot points thrown in that kept matters interesting, but weren't too overwhelming. I quite enjoyed how things kept taking unexpected turns and how all that ever did was help Maggie learn to love the place she was in more and more.
I'm not going to ramble on too much longer, because I think you can already tell how much I enjoyed myself while reading. There were unconventional family dynamics that I enjoyed, a hint of a mystery running throughout, and of course a blossoming romance taking center stage. This romance had a lot going on, and while that may not work for everyone, it ended up working very well for me and I'd definitely recommend it if this review made you interested.
Although at the beginning I didn't anticipate it, this book ended up being a 4 star read for me. There was so much I enjoyed and seeing Silas and Maggie's relationship evolve and grow was definitely one of the highlights!

Finally got to read my first Lucy Score book and it did not disappoint!
This book has so much heart. There are so many elements that I loved: the found family, the renovations, the mystery bit about the Campbells and the town’s history, the small community, the character growth, and the romance that turned into something sooo sweet.
While there were parts that are a but slow, it’s definitely worth continuing to read. This book is PACKED with content.
This is a new addition to my favorites list!

I really enjoyed this one! I did the audio and the ebook. Maggie and Silas were such a fun couple. I fell in love with Silas immediately. Maggie grew on me - I think I struggled because I could relate to her. The narration was perfect and I loved the town and setting. I definitely recommend it for romcom or contemporary romance fans!

Such an amazing cutesy book! Maggie was a strong female protagonist with cute moments sprinkled in between. One of my top books to review.

As soon as I saw the cover, I was hooked.
I'm a huge HGTV fan and Magnolia Network follower, and I just couldn't pass up a romance novel with a remodeling theme.
My instinct was right and I fell in love with Maggie and Silas between open spaces, walls being brought down, and new beautiful landscaping. More than that, I fell in love with Silas' family, Kevin (the pitbull), and his cats, Dean, Deanna, Cody, and even grumpy Wallace.
Maggie Nichols and her business partner Dean land in Kinship, Idaho for their new remodeling project. The Old Campbell Place is a mansion on a hill with splendid views but in need of a lot of love. The house has been left alone for too long and Maggie is determined to bring it back to life.
Maggie has a very successful youtube show and she is close to having a million subscribers. She knows this job could be the one that gets her there. She is ready to start working her magic when she meets the new landscaper guy, Silas Wright. She knows he is trouble but she has a rule, no dating the contractors.
But are rules meant to be broken?
Silas for his part falls for Maggie right away but convincing her to stay might be too hard to accomplish. Thankfully, he and his pitbull, Kevin are charming with a capital C.
The narration by Emma Wilder was entertaining and made these characters a pleasure to listen to.
Maggie Moves On is full of small-town delightfulness which includes a mystery, adorable pets, the family you can create, a budding romance, steamy scenes, and amazing banter. I smiled so much while reading it. I hope you do too.
