This was cute! I wasn’t heavily invested in the characters or the plot as I was for other books by this author but it was still such a fun read! Love a good rom-com!

The banter in this book is *chefs kiss* and the supporting characters are SO GOOD!!! Like, I cannot hype them up enough. Maggie and Silas are so much fun, and his dog... LOVE! Just love. This was such a fun story to read, and I will absolutely be looking for more stories by this author.

I have friends who loved this so I tried a few times to get into it, but I think its just not for me unfortunately. The characters didn't hook me in at all.

This book was an instant love for me. Maggie is a house flipping Youtube star and is tackling a well-known historic Victorian home in a smaller town. With the help of her partner, she focuses on trying to flip in 4 months, while dealing with the towns people and Silas Wright. He is good looking a flirting machine, but Maggie is not interested in settling down or staying. She is here for work. But as time goes on, more than one connection is made.

I loved how fast paced this was. It was quirky and humorous, with spice and romance. I didn't find any part of the book lacking and was racing to finish it, just to see how it ended.

This was my absolute favorite Lucy score book and I've easily read half of her entire collection. Sweet small town romance with a little bit of reluctance, family drama, a loveable dog and a handsome handy man…. Definitely hit all the marks for me. Loved the symbolism as Silas knocks down some of Maggie’s emotional walls while also helping this you tube sensation with her fixer up projects. I’m a sucker for a a metaphor and this was flawlessly executed. Perfect amount of heart and spice I will wholeheartedly recommend this as her best work.

Lucy Score has done it again! If you are a fan of he falls first, spice, and little mystery thrown into the plot line, then this book is for you!

4.5

This book had so many elements that were so well done! The found family, the romance (even though it was insta-love vibes), the remodeling, and the mystery had me all engaged! Since there was a lot going on and to focus on, there never was a dull moment for me. All the different storylines were so flushed out and well done that I thought it wrapped up each subplot well.

Silas and Maggie were quite the match. Even though they had different backgrounds and rode different wavelengths, they made it work. Their communication skills were good for the most part! There were times when they needed to talk more, but based on how they both viewed life, their reactions made sense and it was resolved quickly.

I loved all the subplots with Cody, the mystery of the house, and the renovating of the house! It was all so well-balanced and I was invested in everything. The Cody plot seriously tugged at all the heartstrings and I loved him! I could read a whole book about him tbh.

Overall, I LOVED!!!

"Maggie Moves On" by Lucy Score delivers a sizzling small-town romance between Maggie Nichols, a driven house renovator, and the charismatic landscaper, Silas Wright. Set against the backdrop of Kinship, Idaho, the story unfolds as Maggie takes on the challenge of restoring a Victorian mansion. The chemistry between Maggie and Silas, portrayed through his persistent and flirtatious antics, adds a delightful layer to the narrative. Maggie's resistance to putting down roots clashes with Silas's determination to break down her emotional walls.

Lucy Score skillfully weaves a tale of passion and self-discovery as the characters navigate their contrasting priorities. Silas manages to unravel the walls Maggie has built over the years, leading to a captivating and steamy summer romance. The dilemma Maggie faces towards the project's end raises poignant questions about love, career, and the balance between the two. "Maggie Moves On" is a compelling read that explores the complexities of relationships against the backdrop of house-flipping and self-discovery.

3.5! This one was really cute and I loved the fixer upper aspect of this book. It really brought me back to the days where I would watch HGTV religiously. My only tripe was that there were a ton of side plots that I didn’t really care for that didn’t progress the story

Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score was an instant read because I am a fan of Lucy.

The dog on the cover had me absolutely drawn in and peaked my interest for reading.

This book mixes all of my favorite things- a steamy romance, a fixer upper HGTV style home, plenty of drama, and growth with the characters. I really enjoyed the relationship between Maggie and Silas. This romance has a lot going on, and while that may not be everyones cup of tea, I really enjoyed it.

Thank you NetGalley for this book in exchange for my honest review.

I liked this! It was a fun read, but not my favorite. Would like more depth to the characters and I honestly didn't love Silas.

Lucy Score is one of my favorite indie authors and she did NOT disappoint with her first traditionally published romance. I'm a huge HGTV fan and I jumped at the chance for a small town romance novel with a remodeling theme.

Maggie Nichols has a very successful youtube remodeling show. She, along with her business partner, arrive in Kinship, Idaho for their latest remodeling project. The Old Campbell Place, a mansion with sprawling views but needs of a lot of love.

Maggie’s channel is close to having a million subscribers and she knows this job could be the project that gets her there. Ready to start work, she then meets new landscaper, Silas Wright (and his pitbull, Kevin.) Silas is trouble and falls for Maggie right away but she has a rule, no dating the contractors.

I fell in love with these characters from the start and the Kevin was absolutely charming. This book had all the small town romantic charm, spice to turn up the heat, and lovable characters to keep you turning the pages.

I cannot get enough of Lucy Score's writing!!! Her books are such warm delightful reads. They look daunting from the size of them but I honestly never feel like they are dragging on. Most of the time I'm sad the book is over and wish there was more to it.

Maggie Moves On was no different. I loved the character build of Maddie and Silas. They were complete opposites but watching them find each other and then find themselves in the process really made for such a great story. I also loved how the message was about the family you build and create not just the family you are born to. In this day and age, the nuclear family isn't nearly as strong as it used to be. So we are seeing more families built up of close friends that have become like brothers or sisters to us. Those same friends then don the name auntie or uncle for our children. Family shouldn't just be limited to the blood line. As long as these people want nothing but the best for you and are there to celebrate your wins and recover from your losses, that is more than qualified to be family.

P.S. Kevin stole my freaking heart. Silas was perfection but I would die to meet Kevin.

Lucy Score is a great writer and I love how easily I can just fall into reading with her books. This was a great book about how opposites attract.

This is one of those books that I wanted to start over as soon as I finished. I love that Lucy Score writes characters in their 30’s and 40’s who are still figuring their lives out and don’t have it all together. It’s a relief after reading so many romance books where everyone ends up married with kids and their dream job by 23. One of the best parts of Maggie Moves On was getting to see the MCs be messy and admit that maybe they still haven’t figured out what they want their futures to look like. (Slight spoiler) I especially loved that the FMC didn’t have to give up her career and “settle down” to live happily ever after with the MMC. This is one of my favorite reads of 2022.

Thanks to Forever and NetGalley for the chance to review.

Lucy freaking Score has done it again. I loved all of Lucy’s previous books, but for some reason this one didn’t seem to have the same magic that hooked me to the Knockmout series and the Riley Thorn series. All in all a hysterically good rom com, with all my favorite Lucy staples like a good book boyfriend and a funny dog.

As a self-described HGTV addict and avid romance reader, Maggie Moves On is one of Lucy Score's best books to date! She writes such relatable characters you can't help but love them, avidly root for them, and want to move to their small town. Her skill at writing opposites attract love stories is unparalleled! I'll be recommending this one to all my romance reader friends!
