Maggie Moves On is a favorite romance of 2022. It's a insta-love story with grit, many of the side characters bring the story to a whole new level. Again, my heart belongs to Kevin the goofy marginally behaved pitbull that we first meet after stealing and eating a pound of bacon. On the heavier side Maggie not only finds the once in a lifetime love, she finds her place in life. Maggie's journey is not too be missed. Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC.

My first Lucy Score read! I was thrilled to receive an advanced copy from NetGalley and ultimately enjoyed getting swept up in the town of Kinship and in Maggie and Silas's respective lives and (complex!) families.

The plot revolves around Maggie, a house flipper with a popular YouTube series, who arrives in Kinship, Idaho to renovate a storied mansion once owned by a prominent author of Westerns. When she meets Silas, a landscaper she brings on to work on the crew and be featured on her show, she knows immediately he'll be great for ratings and isn't too upset that she'll be working alongside him day in and day out.

The story is told from both Maggie and Silas's points of view, and there is a very large cast of characters as well as several subplots. I will say that I found the first probably 40% of this book a little bit slow as all of the characters and various plot points are introduced, and that I initially thought Silas had a bit of a bought of insta-love – when he first meets Maggie he's immediately attracted to her, very flirty and forward, and makes cracks about how he's found his future wife. Though it becomes clear later on that this is just Silas's personality and sense of humor, it can be a bit much, especially if you're not one for immediate attraction from an extraverted man who knows exactly what he wants.

That said, once the characters and setting are established and plot kicks up, "Maggie Move On" becomes a very enjoyable read about community, family, and finding love in your 30s.

This book was so precious. I loved it. It was hilarious and sweet and steamy all at once.

The insta love thing is kind of hilarious because of how gone Silas is for Maggie right from the start. I like how she was definitely attracted to him but not quite sold on him right away and kind of made him work for it.

I love animals in books so I thought Kevin and the kittens were a hilarious and adorable addition.

The mystery surrounding the house was so intriguing! The small town vibes and his family dynamics were great and the cranky old guy Wallace was hilarious.

Found family is one of my favorite tropes and this book does it so well. I love the relationship that Maggie and Dean form with Cody. I may have shed a few tears at one point because it was all so freaking sweet.

I’m so sad that this is a stand alone because these characters were so good and I want more of them. I’ve never felt a particular urge to go to Idaho but now I want to go, so I can get some finger steaks.

This was my first book by this author but it will definitely not be my last!

Thank you to the publisher for providing me with an eARC as well as this finished copy.

I always enjoy a Lucy Score novel and Maggie and Silas did not disappoint. Maggie travels from town to town renovating properties and sharing the story on YouTube. Her newest project has her in a small town in Idaho renovating the Old Campbell Place, a sprawling mansion atop the hill that has been neglected for a long time. As part of the local crew Maggie employs, she meets Silas aka Hot Landscaper Guy.
Books by this author always tell a long thought out story with few details glossed over. This is both a joy to read and a frustration for me at times. Absolutely not a poor reflection of the author as I’m always happy with the complete story when I’m done.
Maggie and Silas have a great friendship that grows into more but what will happen when Maggie is done with the Old Campbell Place? Will she move on or will Silas win the bet and she will stay?
Secondary characters are a huge part of this book and you can’t help but love Dean
And all of Silas’ family. An intervention with Silas and his two moms was my favorite!!

This book was definitely not what I expected, but I loved it. I discovered this author this year and was very excited to see she had another book coming out.

This book was unique in its own way. I adored the characters. Maggie and Silas are hilarious and I loved their relationship. Dean and Michael—perfection. Cody—literally everyone, even the dog and cats. The author wrote this book in a way that you could FEEL the love this self made family had for one another.

I’m not super crazy about treasure finds or anything like that, but it was an interesting twist.

Another stellar read from Lucy Score! This author has a way of fully fleshing out each and every character in her books and makes them truly relatable. The cities and towns she creates are always inhabited by people whom you really want to get to know regardless of their importance to the story. This book is no exception.

The families in this book, whether formed by blood or bound by friendships, are one if the brightest things about this story. The interaction and support amongst Maggie and her team are unimpeachable. The determination shown by Silas to break through Maggie's seemingly impenetrable exterior to imbed himself in her very heart and soul was like watching a knight on a Crusade. Having an adorably cute dog and equally likeable family certainly did not hurt his cause.

Throw in the challenges of remaining relevant on social media while making a living doing work usually dominated by male personalities helped to make Maggie the strong woman she was. Strong enough to break the cycle of behavior she had learned and witnessed as a child.

The storyline was believable. The "mystery" kept the reader trying to solve it but there were enough twists and turns prior to the reveal to keep it hidden. And the humor and heat in the story were strong but not overly done.

AHHH my first Lucy Score book (I know, finally right?) and I loved it! I am typically not drawn to insta-love stories, I think they just lack something (tension, probably) that other tropes can do, but this insta-love story between Maggie and Silas was just too stinking cute that I couldn't help but love it. It helped too that despite Silas's attempts to get Maggie to just take a break, she was reluctant and had her work hat on, which I can respect. But this book was just so cute, it was truly like breathing in fresh air, I loved it. I also loved that it built that small town feel beyond just the relationship of the story. Everyone meeting one another, others falling in love, that "found family" aspect really just made it perfect for me.

Absolutely wholeheartedly loved this book.

Swoon swoon swoon. Dirty talk. More swoon. Silas is 🙌🏼👌🏼 just perfection. And he has the best dog ever!

Maggie is a tough nut to crack and wonderful. I loved the journey she went on and enjoyed every second of her story slowly unfolding.

I loved loved loved all of Maggie and Sy’s interactions. Literally every. single. one. You can’t help but fall in love with them. Their chemistry is amazing, they are magnetic and steamy! Could get enough!

Found family trope is a favourite of mine and it’s so freaking beautifully done here. All the characters are top notch, hilarious, and amazing.

This book was so effing DELIGHTFUL. I was left smiling and wishing it wasn’t over.

I enjoyed this book. Silas falls first in the book with Maggie not sure at first because she doesn't have roots anywhere just focused on the the next house to redo. There are funny moments with the family and the lovable dog Kevin. There is also the mystery of the house through out the story. This was a fun read.

Can we all just agree that Lucy Score writes the best pets?! I am currently obsessed with all things Lucy Score but the pets in her books are fantastic!

Maggie Moves On is about famous house-flipper and YouTuber Maggie Nichols who buys and old mansion in Kinship, Idaho with the hopes of renovating it, flipping it, and filming it on her YouTube channel where she has almost 1 million followers. Enter hot landscaping guy Silas Wright who immediately upon seeing Maggie believes is the "wright" guy to make Maggie want to settle down and stay in Kinship. Will Maggie and Silas be able to work together, and will Silas convince Maggie to put down roots for once?

This book is everything I love about Lucy Score books. The sense of community and found family that Lucy weaves into her stories are second to none. All of her towns are places that I wish I could move to and Kinship is no exception. From her ex husband and business partner Dean, to Silas' family, to Cody the wayward kid she takes in, the friendships and sense of community in this book will make you wish you could live in this world.

And then there is Kevin the crazy pit bull. I loved Kevin and his adopted kitten friends so much. His antics had me smiling and he seemed like such a part of the story and family. I recently read Things We Never Got Over by Lucy and in that book, as in this one the pets were one of my favorite parts of the book. Lucy is the queen of amazing pet stories and this one will have you wanting a crazy dog like Kevin in your life.

This is insta-love for Silas but it didn't bother me in this one. Maggie Moves On comes out June 21! Be sure to grab it! Now ... Off to read the next in my long line of Lucy Score books that I can't stop reading.

Thank you to Forever and NetGalley for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Thank you so much @readforever or the opportunity to read and review Maggie Moves On ahead of publication.

Maggie is a house flipper and youTube star set on restoring a crumbling old house when she meets local landscaper Silas.

I really enjoyed the world building that occured throughout the novel. There are alot of fun, likeable and interesting secondary characters Liked the worldbuilding. full of fun interesting characters.

At some times I found the male lead to be a little irritating, but this was balanced out my the book containing both cats and dogs.

I am astounded at how much Maggie was able to complete on her renovations in so little time. Having lived through multiple renovations, I want to hire Maggie for all future projects in my home.

There was a perfect balance of romance and additional plots. Despite the dislike of the vaguely male lead, I liked the development of their relationship.

Another amazing book by Lucy Score. I have yet to read a book by her that I haven’t adored.

Maggie, who has a successful YouTube home renovation show, arrives in Kinship Idaho to restore an old Victorian mansion in a short amount of time. This is what she does, flips homes and moves on to the next. She did not plan on the tall, handsome landscaper and his ornery dog. They have definitely thrown a wrench in her long term plans. 🔧
What I loved:
🔧small town romance
🔧family/friends characters
🔧the dog, Kevin
🔧the banter
🔧the guy falls first
🔧 SILAS 😍
.
This was a Insta/love swoony story. Silas and Maggie had great chemistry. Silas and Maggie were both likable and charming. Definitely recommended this one.

Thank you to netgalley and forever publishing for the opportunity to read this book!

Maggie is not one to plant roots anywhere and is ready to move on after her job is completed and this job is no different for her. Silas knows from the moment he meets her that she's the one for him even if she's not ready to accept it. I loved their playful banter and the chemistry between them that sizzles for most of the book. This is a charming, slow burn that will have you smiling the entire time reading it! The only problem for me was that I didn't feel as invested in the mystery aspect of the story and found myself wanting to skim those sections. It was a fun addition, but it just didn't pull together like other mysteries written by her. Overall, definitely a great addition from Lucy for this one!

3.5 stars because it wasn’t exactly amazing but it wasn’t bad either. It was enjoyable, but it took me forever to get into it, contrary to how quickly Lucy Score has hooked me in with other books.

The premise was cute, and all around fun. But the beginning lacked and felt a bit off. I love a good charming, flirtatious man, but Silas was just a bit too much for me. His “too toward” personality 2.5 seconds into the book had me rolling my eyes. But I love the fact that this books is showing a man falling first bc I’m a sucker for those. And I adored Maggie.

It’s a quick read and funny. Silas and Maggie were a cute pair. And Kevin has my whole heart.

Oh my gosh, this book made me so ridiculously happy! The book community obsesses over Lucy Score's books, and I can finally understand why. Everything about Maggie Moves On fascinated me. I WAS SO INTO THE STORY - I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see how Maggie and Sy's story turned out! Small town romances literally cannot get better than this. I made 117 notes on my kindle while reading the ebook on my kindle. I wish I could talk about every moment in the book that made me swoon - but I can't go out giving spoilers now, can I?

I will highlight my favorite things about Maggie Moves On -
• An opposites-attract romance between a very successful Youtube Influencer + house flipper and a very attractive landscape contractor (who has golden-retriever energy): I was obsessing over their playful conversations/banter throughout the book! I loved how perfectly they balanced each other out through their very different personalities. Insta-love has never been a trope I enjoyed - but this book, my gosh, made me blushing and gushing throughout all of Milas' encounters. The chemistry between them was *chef's kiss* 💯 The conflict between them was solved with maturity and mutual understanding - WE LOVE TO SEE IT.

• Maggie and her best friend, Dean: I absolutely loved the friendship between Maggie and Dean. I really appreciated how the author didn't focus on the romance aspects of the story and delved deeply into the relationships that Maggie shared with other people - and the insecurities that came with those relationships. The storyline had a lot of layers, but I didn't feel bored even for once or thought that the book had a lot of subplots.

• The small-town vibes: Small-town romances are my favorite kind of stories. The fictional small town of Kindship, Idaho has a permanent place in my heart. I ADORED how the book represented the close-knitted community theme (a theme that always wins my heart) so perfectly. All the secondary characters were so charming and homely (yes, that's the word) - I LOVED THEM ALL SO MUCH.

• The mystery: I didn't expect the storyline to follow a mystery, but I am so glad that the author chose that route! It was the best addition, tbh. The story felt more interesting to me because of it.

• The family dynamic: The family relationships in this book made my heart SCREAM. The found-family trope especially tugged at my heartstrings. Maggie and Cody's interactions made me really emotional - again, so many layers to the story, and all of them were so beautifully written! And then Sy's text messages with his family members. And the moms. My heart could have burst with how happy I felt.

• All of the chapters had comments from YouTube subscribers on Maggie's channel. I love when authors add a modern touch with social media, that kind of thing makes the story more relatable to me.
• The humor, the humor: Maggie Moves On was packed with hilarious interactions. I couldn't get enough. The storyline was so fun and engaging. :')

I will recommend this book to literally everyone who loves reading. Maggie Moves On is just - PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT. SO GOOD. My heart is so full right now.

P:S: Many thanks to the publisher for the e-ARC! ❤️

Maggie is a house-flipping YouTube star who heads to Kinship, Idaho for her next project: restoring a Victorian mansion. But her deadlines and carefully constructed plans are threatened by a flirty and laid-back landscaper Silas who is determined to worm his way into her heart.

This was my first by Lucy Score but I really enjoyed it. It was a little long and had a lot going on at times (the treasure hunt felt a bit random), but still so many elements to enjoy including:

- Home renovation / social media presence
- Small town charm and romance
- Flirty banter
- Heartwarming community / found family theme
- A lovable and chaotic dog named Kevin

Overall it's an entertaining read with a lot of heart that will be a great addition to any summer reading list.

Thank you Forever for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Maggie, a YouTube home renovation superstar, has just taken on her biggest project yet… a historic mansion in Kinship, Idaho. Maggie’s show Building Dreams not highlights her house flipping talents, but focuses on telling the story of each town she visits, and the local work crews she hires. Amongst the crews in Kinship is Bitterroot Landscapes and its easy on the eyes owner, Silas, who falls for Maggie the second he sees her. Determined to woo the girl and get the job, Silas turns on the charm. But practical and deadline oriented Maggie cannot afford any distractions, even when they are sexy as hell. Because after all, she has a house to finish, a show to shoot and upload, a social media following to manage, and the next house flipping adventure to move onto. So why is it that the longer she’s in Kinship, the more she starts to ponder what if she takes a hammer to her plans… and stays?

If you’re a contemporary romance lover like me, you need to add this book to your TBR! It was my first Lucy Score novel and it’s safe to say that it will not be my last! When I heard it was about a badass house flipping lady… with her own YouTube show… who falls for her hot as hell landscaper? I was SOLD. But it was truly all of the details, in addition to the romance, that made this story shine for me. I loved the small town that was filled with occupants with hearts of gold, the mystery that began to unravel surrounding the house Maggie has chosen to renovate, the family (both found and of blood), the furry friends and the shenanigans they get up to, and social medial aspect of Maggie’s show and adoring online following. I truly cannot think of any aspect that I could have hoped to be covered that was not. My only qualm is at 400 pages, I do wish the story had been shorter. Though, those 400 pages did allow for all of the details that I loved to be fully fleshed out! All in all, it’s a thumbs up from me!

This book in 3 words: Flirty. Elaborate. Modern.

Maggie Nichols finds herself in Kinship, Iowa, with her next house-flipping project (and quest to 1 million subscribers on YouTube). While taking on a dilapidated mansion, key to the city history, she meets Silas - coined as the "Hot Landscaper Guy".

Silas is overall enjoyable as the main lead. He's funny, realistic, and genuine. There were a few times where I felt like his confidence was a bit outlandish but it plays well into the small-town-romance trope. I thought the things he did for/with Maggie was thoughtful and important. However, the best part of Silas, is that he falls in love FIRST.

This book is jam packed full of likeable (and some loser) characters and subplots. While this book is long, Lucy Score has quite a bit going on but I found it fit and enriched the main plot. I think this is difficult to do and Score has found the right (I mean "WRIGHT" ... if you know you know) balance. The plot strings, straying from the main story, are heavy and cover quite a bit of ground (divorce, family dynamics, what it means to be happy, "home").

Something that I was a bit worried wouldn't be executed well was the social media angle, but, it was just enough! I love how the YouTube channel was written in, but wasn't cringey at all.

I also loved the ending. It felt very cinematic... and would actually love for this to be adapted for visual medium. This book is perfect for those loving a small-town-romance, and finding-your-home trope. It has the right amount of spice and is a fun read. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was hooked from the very beginning.

Somehow, overly forward Silas doesn’t come across as creepy or obsessed, and is completely charming. That’s not easy to do.

I completely fell for the characters in this story, and it just made me so happy to read.

I'm going to be honest. I am putting this title down. This sounds awful okay. Silas is too nice. I need a little bit of an obstacle and I am not getting it at all. I can't anymore. I like both the characters and the writing style. I really think this is just not a trope for me.
