This was my first time to read a Lucy Score book, so I went into this rather blind. The characters are easy to like and love, right off the bat. Maggie and Silas are so strong in themselves from the very beginning. I liked seeing the slow crumbling of Maggie's walls against Silas' persistent care. However, I did start losing interest 60% of the way through-- I felt there was a little too much going on. I like that the author was ambitious in what she wanted to include, but thought the novel suffered for it a bit.

The theme of found family is wonderful-- the side characters are just as memorable as the main ones. And the epilogue was a sweet touch!

This small-town romcom follows YouTube house flipper Maggie as she starts her next renovation project. The giant house in Kinship, Idaho is going to be her biggest project yet and she's going to need help to make it all come together. Silas's landscaping company is hired for the job and Silas is in love with Maggie from the moment he first sees her. Only problem is convincing Maggie that he and her should be together forever. Maggie has always left town after flipping a house - on to the next project and next adventure. But when the small town of Kinship starts making space for her, she starts wondering if this little town in Idaho is where she can find a real home. Lucy Score is an auto-read author for me and, no surprise, I absolutely loved this book. Like stay up past 2am on a worknight loved this book. I was giggling by chapter 4 with Silas's shameless flirting and his dog Kevin's silly antics. I really enjoyed how complex Maggie was as a character and there were some moments that particularly resonated with me when Maggie would be expressing how she is a romantic at heart, but just didn't think that her life could fit something like that. I loved her and Silas flirting back and forth and the build up of their relationship was really cute. I did find Silas toed the line for me of being a bit of an alpha-hole at times (like when he wouldn't interact with her outside of work until she apologized). However, I think because he eventually had that attitude challenged and finally understood that he couldn't stonewall her into loving him, I could forgive some of his more alpha-y behavior. More importantly, he and Maggie would always come back together after these moments and have a new understanding with each other. Also, bonus points for Kevin, the best dog I've ever read in a book.

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever for the ARC. Expected publication date is June 21, 2022

Lucy Score has quickly become a new to me favorite author! Silas was the most swoon worthy MC from his first appearance in the book. The town of Kinship and this story will stick with me for a long time! Loved it - highly recommend.

I have been a huge Lucy Score fan for years and was so excited for her when she announced a traditionally published book!. Maggie Moves On is everything I knew it would be, hilarious, charming, entertaining, and full of all the feelings. Maggie is strong and determined and knows what she wants in life. Always carefully planning her next project. Her world tilts on its axis when Silas' landscaping company is hired for her latest project. Silas is an unrepentant flirt who is positive about his feelings for Maggie almost immediately.

The story is complex but lighthearted with a little mystery and a treasure hunt. The banter is top-notch and Silas' persistence is endearing and swoony. The different dynamics of their relationship are perfection, it's not all rainbows and unicorns and I loved seeing the arguments and apologies. Lucy Score is incredible at world-building and creating a cozy place with enchanting characters you can't help but love. Wallace, Cody, Dave, Niri, Mama B, Kevin, and all the others add so much depth. Escapism at its finest, there's so much in here that it felt like a little vacation and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

Maggie is a home renovator running from her past and Silas is a fly by the seat of his pants landscaper. Silas gave me big time Chip Gaines vibes. Unfortunately this book has a bit of a slow start and I was very turned off by Silas’s insistence that Maggie was going to be his wife… minutes after meeting her. It felt at times like he didn’t understand that people need space and time to process things. I also felt like there was a lot of plot points that didn’t totally come together. The treasure plot was dragged out and the reveal was a bit of a let down. There were characters mentioned in the “epilogue” that I had no idea who they were. Overall needed less.

This book was SO good! Silas was extremely swoon worthy and I loved Maggie’s go getter personality and her drive! I just felt like she was so relatable in keeping her guard up and keeping people at arms length. She was lonely and in need of love. Silas was the perfect man for the job! And Kevin the dog? Ugh he made me miss my pitty so much! Who doesn’t love a good fur baby character?
Such a great read

This was a cute, sweet story. I enjoyed 'listening' to this one while at work. Lucy has a special way of bringing the story to life from the first page until the end.

3.5 rounded up to 4 ⭐️
A sweet, cute, small-town romance, Maggie Moves On is an easy summer read for anyone looking for a little getaway, home-reno style. The Old Campbell place located Kinship, Idaho is Maggie and ex-Dean’s next home renovation that will help Maggie get to her 1 millionth follower on her YouTube show. Utilizing the help of local landscaping and decorating companies, Maggie and Dean move from project to project across the U.S.
Enter Silas Wright, aka Mr. Sexy Landscaper who is everything Maggie doesn’t expect to encounter in Kinship. He’s brash, bossy, flirty as hell and knows Maggie is exactly who he wants, and he will stop at nothing to make sure she finally decides to settle down. Crucial to Maggie and Silas’ romance are the many side characters that become involved in every aspect of the home renovation and love story. Maggie and Silas each have a family storyline that plays sweetly into explaining their upbringing and differences. Then there are the quirky people of Kinship, along with the extended family of Michael, Dean, Cody, and Dayana. And even Silas’ dog Kevin has a humorous role to play.
The stage coach gold coin robbery is a fun second story that was pleasantly unexpected and tied in perfectly to the happy ever after. I have to say, I feel like Lucy Score thought of everything and appreciated the way she wrote the book ending instead of a traditional epilogue. I found myself Googling Idaho and could imagine Kinship as a real town with beautiful nature and scenery. I would’ve liked to see more character development; Silas comes on very heavy handed and maybe a little overconfident in the masculine “I’ll take what’s mine” manner. Maggie seems to work through some of her hangups, but then does she really? I’d like to think that Michael and Dean go on to enjoy their HEA, but I just feel like maybe everything worked out a little too easily. Don’t get me wrong, I very much enjoyed this book, I think I just like to see a little more character struggle over the course of a timeline. Regardless, Maggie Moves On is a small-town rom-com that has big heart and sweet souls.
A big thanks to NetGalley and Forever with Grand Central Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This book really made me smile! It had so many funny moments, with amazing flirty banter, and so many sweet characters.

You've got:
- small town romance
- adorable dog and kittens
- found family
- supportive blended family
- reality tv
- instant love
- a little mystery

Maggie Nichols has made a name for herself with her successful YouTube show flipping houses. When she arrives in Kinship, Idaho her only goal is to take the house she bought and revive it from it's dilapidated state. She does not like to stay in one place for too long. She is not prepared for the sexy and flirtatious landscaper Silas Wright.

I don't normally picture specific people when I read but this book had me picturing Matthew McConaughey the entire time. Think MM during one of his romcoms and you have Silas Wright. Silas falls hard for Maggie and while he's all in, he has to take the time to get Maggie on board and invested in their relationship.

The town starts to take roots in Maggie's life and before she knows it her house is full of people for her to love. This book has a fun little mystery to it while you read it that relates to the history of the house.

It was a sweet and fun read, and very entertaining!

Thank you for an advanced copy of this book! It was a fun read.

Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Pub Date: June 21, 2022

I was so excited to read this one, and it did not disappoint! I thought this book was so fun. I thought Maggie and Silas were perfect matches, and I felt like their chemistry was so in sync throughout the book, Even when their heads were in different places, I really felt the chemistry between them. I also thought they provided a nice balance to each other's personalities, and that was nice to see. I loved Silas' persistence in pursuing Maggie, and I appreciated his commitment to her because he just felt like they were right for each other! What woman doesn't dream of a man so convicted (within reason, of course) that she is the one for him? I felt like I was intruding on their relationship at times because their chemistry was that good!

This book just made me happy. Please read it!

This is the first book I read by Lucy Score and it pains me to say it fell flat for me. I had read so many amazing reviews and was so excited to read this one. Overall, I felt a little bored with This one. I did love the romance between Maggie and Silas but I felt something was missing. We don’t find out the mystery about Maggie until the last third of the book and I felt it was longer than it should have been. Overall, it was okay.

Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review!

I want to start by saying that I love Lucy Score books. I love that all of her characters are 30+ and realistically flawed, I love that she creates excellent side characters that bring chaotic fun to the story and I love that her writing will make you spit take one moment and then weep with heartache the next. However, there was something a bit off with this book. I enjoyed the two main characters, Maggie the prickly house flipper who eschews love and doesn't want to be tied down, and Silas the confident cinnamon roll landscaper who sets out to win her heart. I enjoyed the cast of side characters who turn into Maggie's found family, especially Cody and Silas's family. I enjoyed the flirty banter and the silly quirkiness of Kinship, Idaho and the Old Campbell Place. But, I struggled with the pacing of the book, particularly in the middle, where it felt like random subplots were suddenly revealed in almost every chapter and sudden character information was revealed that changed aspects of the story. While in previous Score books, these detours never disrupted the main plot, in this one it just didn't work for me and it made some sections drag. I was also quite surprised at the briefly listed epilogue as I thought that she was maybe setting up a potential future book for Dayana or Kayla!

Overall, Maggie Moves On is a good beach read that has a satisfying love story at its heart and depicts the power of found families and forging a sense of belonging and home.

I read this book hot on the heels of another book (the absolute best at the time) of this author! I thought there would be no way to compare or too that book- and I was wrong. Maggie Moves On is fabulous, relatable, inspiring, current, full of love and hopes and dreams and family we create and I couldn’t ask for a better story! I highly recommend picking up and reading this book as soon as you can get your hands on it!

Brilliant!
This book is like sunshine on a summer day. A cold beer on a hot day. A warm blanket on Christmas eve. In other words, it’s everything you want in life.
Maggie always moves on. As a YouTube house rehab star, she flips houses for a living. Never staying too long in one place, and that’s just the way she likes it. When she buys a mansion in Kinship, Idaho, and meets the local landscaper, Silas Wright, everything changes. Before she knows what’s happening, she’s surrounded herself with a found family of quirky characters and naughty pets. She’s also been adopted by the townsfolk, and she didn’t even realize it. Along the way, she uncovers a mystery surrounding the house that moves the story along beautifully. Silas and Maggie and the friends and family they surround themselves with make this book truly something special!

✨Things I liked:
🏚 I love that Maggie is a house flipper! If it wasn’t so physically demanding it would have been on my list of dream jobs. Also fun to see the behind of scenes of a house flipper show.

🐕 Kevin is Sy’s crazy food stealing dog and I loved how much Kevin was a part of the story.

🧑🏼Cody was a great character and I loved his story. I don’t want to give too much away but the side characters are all great!

🏘 I loved the town of Kinship and getting to know its people. This was very much a real family + found family book and I loved that. So many feel good moments. It makes me want to move to a small town.

✨Things I didn’t like:
🙄 Insta Love is by far my least favorite trope. It never feels real to me. He literally met her and was like this girl is The One. Nope.

🧑🏼‍🦱 Sylas was a bit too much for me. He came across as cocky and a bit controlling. I think he is a nice family centered guy who would give anyone the shirt off his back but if he came on that strong to me I’d have pushed him away so fast. Also, if he says “darlin’” one more time I’m gonna scream. I’m southern, so I get it and it can be cute, but this was too often to where it felt forced/fake.

📖 400 pages is long for a romance with insta love and not much plot. It’s like they fell in ‘love’ quickly, had lots of sex for 200 pages, then a super minor conflict with a dash of adventure. I enjoyed it, but think the middle could have been trimmed a bit, but this is an arc so maybe it is now.

✨Overall, I’m torn about a rating on this one. There was a LOT to love about this book and I think a LOT of people will love it but a few sections that were a little too eye rolling for me.✨

🔥🔥🔥 Super steamy book compared to my norm. Lots of dirty talk too 🤭.

Thank you for providing me with an arc!! I love Lucy Score's writing and this one didn't disappoint me at all. I enjoyed the flirty banter, the small town trope; one of my favorite trope, the chemistry...I loved it sm! Lucy Score has been making me swoon over her character and gosh I enjoy reading her books sm.
Maggie Moves On is a small town romance where a Youtube star, Maggie Nichols decides to renovate the mansion and falls for the hot landscaper-Silas Wright who's helping her. As the book continued, I just enjoyed this book so much and I didn't want to stop reading. I cannot wait to read more books by Lucy in future and fall in love with her writing all over again and her swoon over her characters.

This was my first book by this author and was delighted with the story and characters. It was everything that I wanted to see in a romantic comedy. I look forward to reading more Lucy Score books.

4.25🌟 Wow, another hit by Lucy Score! In Maggie Moves On, we follow Maggie and Dean, who run a YouTube home renovation channel. Maggie buys the houses, fixes them up, sells them, and moves onto the next. Then, she meets Silas, who seems hellbent on making her fall in love with him and the town.

Lucy Score does found family like no other. Some things that I loved in both this novel and Things We Never Got Over were the aspects of a small town community, found family, and the way each side character has something going on outside of the main plot. I also enjoy that Lucy's romance novels never focus solely on the romance; there's always a little something extra, whether is be crime drama or treasure hunt🧐 It was a little insta-lovey on Silas' part, but I didn't mind it much because he was so dang charming! Very cute, fun, easy read!

Grand house in a state of disrepair- check
Hidden room in said house- check
Self sufficient, successful, bad ass woman- check
Attractive, (mostly) charming man who unabashedly falls head over heels for the aforementioned woman- check
Cute lil town in the middle of nowhere- check
Adorable, doofy dog- check

Maggie Moves On ticks so many boxes! A cute, easy (albeit wordy), often funny read that would be great for poolside lounging or a roadtrip diversion, but it's not memorable or a must read.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced reading copy! This is my first book from the author Lucy Score, and I thought it was a great blend of romance, cuteness, and comedy. Maggie hosts a famous YouTube show about house renovations when she comes to the small town of Kinship, Idaho to revamp a famous author’s mansion. Silas is the hired landscaper for the project, and he falls quickly for Maggie, who is constantly on the move from job to job, place to place. Can Silas and a cast of small town characters convince Maggie to stay? This book was charming and worked for me in many ways. I liked the small town vibes, side characters, back stories, mysteries about the house they were renovating, and especially, the dog Kevin. My only complaint about this book is that I wanted more of Kevin’s hijinks. There was a lot going on in this book, but Score made it work by moving the story along at a really nice pace, and balancing the drama and trauma from the past with the sweet romantic comedy. I recommend this book for fans of contemporary romance, renovations in the story, small town, and cute dogs.
