I received an ARC from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review and I am so grateful!
Gah - it is so hard for me to give a Lucy Score book a bad review. I love all of this author's books! Things We Never Got Over (the release prior to this one) is my all time favourite, so when I saw an ARC available for Maggie Moves On, I was so excited.
Home Renos, Social Media, Love, an adorable Pit Bull - what's not to love? Well sadly, I have been stuck at 50% read for months and it was kind of a struggle to get here so i've ultimate decided to DNF. The chemistry between Maggie and Silas feels off, I didn't get invested in any of the characters, and I felt like nothing much happened in the first half.
Lucy Score tends to be more slow burn but this was glacial and kinda unbelievable. Silas and Maggie just didn't click for me and their relationship felt forced. In terms of the plot, again, not much moved forward. Sorry Lucy!! This book just wasn't for me, despite wanting to love it so much.

This is my first Lucy Score but it definitely will not be my last. I absolutely loved this book. The characters are absolutely lovely and quirky. I also really enjoyed the different types of love explored in the book. I think this part was done very well.

“You are the surprise of the lifetime.”
OMG, I absolutely LOVED Maggie Moves On. I’ll admit that I usually love Lucy Score books, but this is one of my new faves. Maggie and Silas (and Kevin) are so much fun as are the entire town of Kinship.
“Silas Wright was a distraction all by his handsome self.”
Maggie is a no-nonsense girl who has built her own brand as a YouTuber remodeling and selling houses. She only stays in one place long enough to finish the house and immediately moves on to her next project. She doesn’t get attached and believes the only one she can truly rely on is herself.
“I heard wedding bells when I saw her for the first time.”
Silas is the charmingly hot landscaper who instantly falls for Maggie. The minute he sees her, he believes she’s meant to be his future wife. Silas is the complete opposite of Maggie. He lives for roots and family ties and complicated feelings. He’s determined to surround Maggie with a community and friendships and love that will make it difficult for her to move on this time.
“I’ve been waiting my entire life to find home. And I found one. I made one. Here. With you.”
I could not get enough of these two. Their banter was both hilarious and heartwarming and they had a sizzling chemistry. Silas is so patient with Maggie and helps her break out of her shell to become the loving woman she has always been. They slowly develop a believable and intimacy throughout the book that will warm your heat.
Maggie Moves On made me laugh and gave me all the feels. Full of quirky characters, small town charm, heartfelt situations and so much heart and heat, Silas and Maggie and the town of Kinship is not to be missed.

3.5 stars! this was my first book by Lucy Score & it definitely opened my mind to want to read more of hers. i will say this was a fun read, i loved Maggie as a character and a lot of the tropes involved - found family & ‘he falls first.
this books plot reminded me of a hallmark movie, a small town romance that had you rooting for the couple from the beginning. i loved Maggie’s job as HGTV shows & YouTube videos are both two things i enjoy.
my main issue with this book was i found the first half to be extremely slow. i can appreciate a good slow burn but this one felt ultra slow. i also had some problems with Silas as a character. he was charming at times but mostly just seemed off-putting and possessive to me.
overall, I would recommend this fun romance if it sounds appealing to you! it definitely had me laughing at parts & connecting with the characters.

Anything Lucy rights is a hit and this book just makes that statement true. Love the characters, theme, and the location of this story. Looking forward to Lucys next book!

This book was thoroughly enjoyable. I love this author. The way she writes about love is phenomenal. Not just romantic love, which is great, but familial love, friendship love, etc. I hope she has a lot of success.

not me driving to the most ostentatious house in my community just for this pic (once you read the book you’ll understand) 🤪
this was my very first arc read and i couldn’t be happier being selected to review it
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨/5
this was a very different setting compared to what i’m used to in a romance but as someone who loves hgtv and diy, this book captivated me from the beginning. who doesn’t love a good demo day and subway tiles??
if you’ve ever wanted to be seduced by chip gaines, silas is the man for you. a quirky, goofball landscaper with game for days??? SIGN ME UP 🥵

Lucy Score does it again! Maggie and Silas made me smile and laugh and cry, and the story was just beyond perfect. Insta-love isn’t usually my thing but Silas immediately knowing Maggie was the one for him really had me swooning. I will read anything Lucy Score writes!

YES LUCY SCORE YES!!!!!!!! god she can’t write a bad book if she tried! she’s easily become an auto buy author and i’m in love

Rating: 3.5
Maggie Moves On was an okay read. While there were some heartfelt and amusing moments, the overall pacing of the story was quite slow and a bit dull at times.
It is dual POVs of the main characters and has some great tropes like a reverse grumpy-sunshine, opposites attract and a small town romance.
The storyline was fairly enjoyable with the home renovation aspect and the hero’s family dynamic, unfortunately though, that spark that’s usually in all Lucy Score’s books was definitely missing for me. I did find myself skimming a few sections as the story just dragged a lot as well.
The main characters, Silas Wright and Maggie Nichols were great. Silas was a huge charmer and just such a flirt, which I loved. He also falls for Maggie immediately, so it was insta-love for him. Whereas Maggie on the other hand, was more practical and took her a lot longer to fall in love.
Their romantic development was nicely written though and they did have some swoon worthy, heartwarming and spicy moments as well.
The last 20 percent of the book definitely picked up and wrapped up nicely. I will say though, I wished there had been a proper epilogue instead of just short paragraphs of what happened to certain characters.
Overall, just a decent read but definitely a lot slower paced than I was expecting.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

LUCY SCORE CAN DO ABSOLUTELY NO WRONG! Wowza! The steam and the small town banter is part of what Lucy does best, and this book was no different. I could not put it down, and I loved it SO much!

I was lucky enough to spend my weekend with Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score.
I get this feeling when I discover a new author that surprises me. I’ve been reading and reviewing since 2013 so it’s safe to say I read a lot. But what doesn’t happen a lot is me instantly wanting to know more. And I mean to know more about the author's backlog of books.
I got the same feeling the first time I read Darynda Jones, Emma Chase, and more recently Abby Jimenez. They write like a movie. I immediately see a cast playing this out in my head. Not many authors can achieve this. Side note: Ryan Reynolds is on my shortlist for the laid-back landscaper Silas Wright.
My cheeks hurt from the smiles this tome provides. From the moment they met till the movie-worthy epilogue. I am truly obsessed with Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score. I need more and I need it now.

Maggie Moves On has easily become a favourite read for me this year. Think: HGTV meets Hallmark.
Maggie Nichols is a YouTube star, known for her epic house flipping, content with living out her years doing what she loves most. Maggie always has a plan for the present and the future and she wouldn’t have it any other way. It isn’t until her newest project that she starts to truly think about what she wants rather than what’s stable and pleasing her fans. It’s love at first sight for Silas Wright, the super-dreamy landscaper hired to help with Maggie’s newest project. Silas is determined to win over Maggie’s heart and will do whatever it takes to get it.
This story is filled with love (SO MUCH), drama, history, and life lessons. You will fall in love with every single character as the plot unfolds.
I received an advanced copy of this book for free, courtesy of NetGalley and the publishers. However, all opinions are 100% my own.

I love Lucy Score so I was excited to see this book available. This was a cute small-town romance with all the things I've come to expect and love from a Lucy Score book. More!!!

I always hate waiting for the latest Lucy Score novel, but Maggie Moves On is definitely worth it! From the opening meet cute to the satisfying resolution, I couldn't stop reading. Maggie and Silas are a compelling couple of opposites who manage to find a compromise as they follow their dreams in the pursuit of success respectively as a YouTube famous DYI expert and a landscape architect. Maggie moves from one place to another flipping properties while Silas focuses on making his hometown a perfect place to settle down. A cute dog, a mystery, and the house of my dreams rounded out a perfect novel.

Maggie and Silas are the reverse grumpy/sunshine couple of my dreams. The flirting. The banter. Perfection.
I loved that this story not only had the steamy romance I love, but it had a found family story as well. I’m always a sucker for a found family. Maggie and her tv show/ex husband essentially live as nomads and while Dean would love to settle down somewhere he stays on the move because of Maggie. Silas comes at Maggie so fast she can’t even register him. He is a man who knows what he wants. This hot landscaper helps her show, helps make her new hosue renovation a dream, and helps Maggie realizes there is more that she wants out of her life.
The ending gave me legally blonde vibes with the quick synopsis updates for all our major players in the book and I loved that!

My first ever Lucy Score book, but will definitely not be my last! Loved this book so much and grateful I got to read an ARC of it! Everything about this book was enjoyable— the romance, the setting, the side characters, and even a little mystery! Highly recommend this book!

Big thanks to Read Forever for the e-ARC of this book via NetGalley. This review is being given honestly and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was my first ever Lucy Score book and WOW it was really good! I absolutely loved Silas and Maggie, he had me geeking out from the first chapter we are introduced to him. Absolutely loved this was a hero falls first and how amazing their relationship and romance was, there was literally no major angst or unnecessary drama/breakups. ALSO THE FOUND FAMILY ASPECT WAS CHEFS KISS 💋 like holy cow the side characters were everything. Also the absolute fun of the treasure hunt plot line was really cool and was super fun to read about and discover with the characters.
10/10 loved Maggie and Silas because not only was the chemistry THERE but their banter was great and fun. Plus the way most chapters ended with social media comments was even more fun!
Absolutely have to recommend this for everyone to pick up as a summer read!

I loved everything about Maggie Moves On!
The banter and chemistry between the characters was top tier, and really made this story come to life. I was rooting for Silas from the moment he was introduced on page! I am such a fan of small town romances - and this one is so well done, original, and really stood out to me!
This book really does have so much going for it including: found family, a service animal school drop out comedic relief dog, a home renovation YouTube show, a small town legend and mystery, self discovery, banter, so much chemistry between both the main and side characters, and more!
ARC kindly provided by the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I usually pick “Read Now” books only if I know I can potentially enjoy them, and this looked really good.
I hadn’t read Lucy Score before, so I was going in a bit blind aside from what I read in the synopsis. Sadly, it wasn’t for me. The instalove was too much, and I’m usually okay with it because I like instalust better than slowburn, but this was too fast. Silas literally calls her “my future wife” after meeting her for like half an hour, and he actually means it…
The writing felt a bit dragging, and I think thick books should go a bit faster. I’m sure lots of people and fans of Lucy Score will love this book!
Thanks to Forever for the opportunity of reading early!
