Well count me in as a Lucy Score fan after this FUN and sweet rom-com.

Maggie Nichols is a YouTube star and home flipper whose past leads her to Kinship Idaho to renovate their flagship home, an old Victorian called the Old Campbell Place. She sets out to assemble a construction team and instead finds herself reluctantly assembling a family as well.

The romance is fun (and plenty steamy) but the family is where this story really shines. I’m a sucker for a good family story (probably has to do with growing up with 30 cousins!) and this one does not disappoint. You’ll wish you could spend an afternoon at a family BBQ by the end of the story. Kevin the dog also brings in some fun moments. Add in a fun dog and I am ALL IN. (Swipe to see my own pup’s endorsement)

This is a great vacation read and it’s release will be perfect timing for those of you looking for something to read beachside or poolside. Look for it June 21st.

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the advance copy in exchange for a review. Now excuse me… I’m going to go read her entire back catalog.

THIS WAS A PHENOMENAL ROMANCE. I read this book and then immediately started reading other books from Score's backlog. I absolutely loved every single moment of this book. The chemistry was phenomenal between our two main characters and the book was very past-paced. I just...I loved it. Read it. Pick it up! This would be a perfect summer read, or really a read for all seasons! So, so, so good. Read it.

This book was a fun, small-town romance that Lucy Score is known for. My favorite part of this book was definitely the family dynamics that were explored—both Maggie's family and SIlas's—and the found family that was created through working on the Old Campbell Place. There was a lot of love and a lot of heart, with even a touch of mystery in this book. It had a lot of great elements that would honestly make for a great small-town romance movie. I could easily see this being translated onto screen (a Netflix original, if I'm being honest). Everyone has a discernable voice and personality, down to the loving canine Kevin. A great read for spring and summer but also a super comforting and cozy read for fall and winter, too. Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for this ARC!

This is a first time read for me by this author and it definitely won't be my last. I absolutely loved this book! I've been obsessed with reading romantic comedies lately, and this one definitely fits the bill. From the start this book will put a smile on your face and keep you smiling till the end and the smile will still be there long after you have finished. Maggie is the queen of house flipping and her new project takes her to a small town in Idaho. Silas is the landscaper that will be working on Maggie's house. Silas feels an immediate connection to her, but Maggie never stays in one place for long, and Silas is determined to make her see they are meant to be. The story was delightfully cute with just enough steam to make your toes curl. If you're looking for a fun, lighthearted and adorable read, then you definitely will want to pick this one up.

I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I’ve read a couple other books by this author and loved them, so I was really excited to get this one. And it’s...okay. That’s it, I’m sorry to say. The sharp and witty banter that I loved from her previous books is missing from this one. The “flirtation“ from Silas is really bordering on constant sexual harassment, not flirting, and I just did not like him as a character.
If you’ve never read a book from Score then you might like this more than I did.

Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced reader copy. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Maggie Nichols, famous for flipping houses on YouTube finds herself working on her biggest project yet in a small Idaho town that was special to her childhood.

Silas Wright bids a job for his landscaping company on the flip and is immediately smitten with Maggie, who he dubs the future Mrs. Wright. But can Silas work around Maggie’s “no dating contractors” rule??

This book was everything to me. You have:
- a man who isn’t afraid of feelings
- he falls first
- banter for DAYS
- lovable pet sidekick
- so many endearing side characters
- comedy in the dialogue
- functional blended family
- found family
- SPICE

Silas is my new book boyfriend. What. A. MAN.

I am a huge Lucy Score fan. I’ve read almost her entire backlist and have bought multiple copies of Rock Bottom Girl and Things We Never Got Over for friends as gifts because I want everyone to read Lucy. I was super excited for Maggie Moves On and am disappointed that it fell flat for me. I think a lot of readers will enjoy this book, it just wasn’t my cup of tea. I ultimately decided to DNF at ~60%.

Pick this one up if you enjoy:
- Old home renovations
- Small-town romance with a large, diverse community
- Guy falls first
- Some history lessons/mystery with your romance

What I loved:
- No one does small-towns like Lucy. I loved Kinship, Idaho, loved seeing Silas’ siblings and getting to know the town and his blended family.
- Kevin, the dog. Kevin is the best.
- The couple are in their thirties. <3

What didn’t work for me:
- Silas: he immediately falls hard (major insta-love) and his style of alpha behavior didn’t work for me. I found him pushy and frustrating.
- Maggie: I loved the concept of her job (YouTube home renovation influencer!) but I found it hard to connect with her. This was probably not helped by everyone talking about how great she is all the time.
- The pacing: All of Lucy’s books are long but this one dragged, likely because I wasn’t invested in the central couple.
- This is a nit-pick but I got really thrown off by the first chapter: I thought we were getting a snarky businesses partners to lovers situation and I was pumped! But but then it turned out that Dean is her partner but is also her ex (and is gay). I liked the push and pull of their banter and I think that made it harder for me to get invested in Silas’ brand of insta-lust.

I will absolutely read Lucy Score’s next book! I hope that if you pick this one up that you love it.

This was my first Lucy Score novel and I enjoyed it, but I didn’t feel any real excitement with it. There were things that Silas did that REALLY bugged me. I felt like he was really petulant when he didn’t get his way.
I did however enjoy the side plot mystery and the inclusion of POC and LGBTQ characters. The blended family was beautiful and just what you want to see when a couple splits and remarries, everyone getting along and loving each other.

This is a small town romance set in Kinship, Idaho. Maggie is a You Tube star who ends up in Kinship to renovate a historical mansion called The Campbell Place. She hires Silas as the landscaper and instantly falls for Maggie. He is relentless on his pursuit of her. The guy was so sweet, flirty and fun. Maggie never stays in one place for too long and isn't used to putting down roots. But the longer she stays in town, the more things seem to change.

This book was filled with home renovations, friendship, and found family. One of the stars was Silas' dog Kevin. He was so lovable and funny. He always seemed to make an appearance at just the right time. I really loved the special relationship formed by Maggie and a local high school student Cody, who didn't really have a sense of direction until she came along.

Unfortunately, I didn't feel the chemistry between Maggie and Silas. I hate saying that because I have read a few of her other books that I completely love and have rated five stars. It may have been because of the insta-love on Silas' part. Just something didn't work for me and I found myself being bored at times.

I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this small town romance! It has some seriously witty banter. And the steamy tension that I always associate with Lucy Score!! Silas’ family was my absolute favorite part of this book!

Lucy Score never fails to deliver a great book and this is no exception. It was funny and romantic and a fun read. It is always nice to escape into a Lucy book and leave my world behind for a few while I inhabit the world that Lucy is writing about.

I received an arc of this from Netgalley. Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and Lucy.

If you like HGTV and small town romances this is for you. I absolutely loved it and thought everything about the people of Kinship, Maggie’s personal growth and the steamy romance were fantastic.

I received a copy of Maggie Moves On through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score is a romance focusing on Maggie Nichols, YouTube house-flipping sensation, and Silas Wright, a very good looking landscaper working on Maggie’s latest property. From the moment the two meet, Sy is determined to make Maggie his. Along the way, the pair find themselves involved in a local mystery as they work on redoing the Old Campbell Place and building a relationship that will last.

This is the first book by Lucy Score that I have read, but I have to say it was definitely worth the time! I loved everything about this book, the characters, the setting, the local treasure hunt mystery they find themselves in and their sizzling romance. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and follow along with their story. This was a great, fun romance read that I would definitely recommend to romance fans!

Maggie is a YouTube sensation who, along with her partner Dean, is house flipping their way around the US. Their latest project brings them to Kinship, Idaho. Where they will be renovating the Old Campbell place, a beautiful but rundown Victorian Mansion.
Maggie and Dean being in Kinship is wonderful for the town that has been going through hard times. They hire many people to help with the renovation, including landscaper, Silas who will have his hands full giving not only the outdoor areas a full transformation but he is also trying to transform Maggie's heart along the way.

Stubborn Maggie is so relatable
Can do everything herself and would never ask for help as to not burden anyone. Yep, sounds familiar.
Maggie is a strong strong woman, how she ignored the Charm and the Flirting for as long as she did is worthy of praise. Lord knows I would have folded to Silas day one.

Silas is charming, flirty, terrible at technology, hard working, has love in his heart heart everyone. His hard line, be honest. If you don't want to talk about it, say so don't lie and say everything is fine.
He does have a very protective side, if he cares for you he will have no problem stepping in and taking over if you need help, sometimes when you don't need the help too.

Can i get directions to the nearest waterfall cave?

There is a mystery and adventure that just add to this beautiful love story. Loving yourself, letting someone love you and finding that (huge) family you have been searching for/ running from your whole life.

I really enjoyed this book. What’s there not to love about a cinnamon bun hero, a successful business woman, and a small-town romance that gives off all the HGTV vibes that’s sprinkled with a bit of mystery?

Maggie Nichols is the heroine of the story who temporarily relocated to small-town Idaho in order to renovate an old historic home for her successful YouTube channel. There, she meets Silas Wright, who she hires as a landscape architect.

This book took me a couple of chapters to get into, but once I got to know the characters and got into the story, I was hooked. I had a hard time putting it down, and slowly fell in love with all the characters and the story that was being told.

There’re so many things I really liked about this book. First, Maggie; I loved getting to know her. I liked her flaws and quirks, and seeing what makes her the way she is. I really liked her history and why she is the way that she is. She’s so stubborn and ambitious in the best way, and I feel like she could be my friend. And then there’s Silas, who I thought was such a perfect cinnamon bun hero. He falls in love with Maggie straight away, to the point of telling his moms that he met the women he will marry one day, which I thought was adorable. At first, I was a bit unsure of the insta-love, but I found that it really worked with his character and the story. I slowly feel in love with Silas, and loved the way he was a laid-back small-town guy with a big possessive streak for Maggie. There’s just so many things about him that I loved, like the fact that he was terrible with technology! It was such a little detail, but I really loved it! And don’t even get me started on Kevin (He’s the real star of the story) …

The story was so easy to read, and get into, and it gave me all the small town feels and was a great chosen family story as well. There’s so much chemistry between the characters and I was living for it, and this book was also pretty steamy! I loved the banter between Silas and Maggie, and I thought they were a really good couple. But I loved that this book was more than romance story, even if the romance in this book was great. I loved how it also had themes of family (blood and chosen), friendship, loneliness, and even a bit of mystery surrounding the history of the house. I really loved how everything came together at the end, and I thought the story was beautifully told. It also made me laugh out loud quite a few times.

I feel like there’s so much I could say about this story as I thought it was a really good read that I believe romance lovers would love, especially if you love:
- Small town romances
- House flipping
- Cinnamon bun hero with a possessive streak
- The cutest service school-dropout dog
- Chosen family
- Strong female leads
- A bit of mystery

This is only my second book from Lucy Score, but I am now a complete completely addicted to her books, and I can’t wait to read other books from her.

Thank you so much to Lucy Score, Netgalley, and Forever (Grand Central Publishing), for this ARC – It was such a great read!

I cannot even begin to describe how much I loved this book. I saw so much of myself in Maggie and absolutely would fall head over heels for a man like Silas!! And omggggg THE DOG??? 4.5 ⭐️

(1) Basically every time I see an old house for sale I want to buy it, (2)characters looking for (and finding!) a home is one of my fave romance themes EVER, (3) & I happen to think that charmer heroes who love to tease & walk around with their baseball hats on backwards are all kinds of cute so…did I love this book? Yes. Yes I loved this book.

In Lucy Score’s Maggie Moves On YouTube sensation + house renovator Maggie Nichols has just temporarily relocated to small-town Idaho to renovate the dilapidated home of a famous writer. She hires Silas Wright, local hottie & talented landscape architect, to redesign the grounds.

Their dynamic is so good. (Stopping myself from repeating “so good” for emphasis.) From their first meeting he comes at her with his charm full-force & she is so matter-of-fact with him, so casual in ignoring his flirting. Flirting that still feels genuine bc he’s a genuinely good guy.

This book is wholesome & got me hot, it’s funny, there’s a cute dog & a mystery or two, there’s found family & relationships that are strengthened. The hero is all-in for the heroine from the beginning—he refers to her internally & to her face as his “future wife” soon after meeting her—& the heroine is a major force with a hammer.

My biggest quibble is that some of those aforementioned relationship issues are resolved too quickly for me, they feel too pat & easy, & I don’t even know if all of those various threads are entirely necessary.

But overall this book is a total delight & I’m really happy I read it.

CWs: please look at trusted reviewers for this. I didn’t take notes as I read! 🥴

Lucy Score is one of my favorite authors so when I saw she had this one coming out I knew I needed to read it! WOW! I absolutely adored this fixer-upper romance! The characters are both relatable and fun! The romance is on point and while not as steamy as some of her previous novels it's just as beautiful! I highly recommend this one!

This book is GOOOOD!!

I love every single thing about it!

Maggie Moves on is about a YouTuber who fixes up houses on her channel and she takes on the project of renovating a mansion in Idaho.

I loved the small-town feel of this book, the romance, and the entire plot of the story. I felt like the strongest parts of the story were the banter between each of the characters. I found myself laughing so many times while reading. I could not get enough and it really kept me engaged in what was going on. In my opinion, this is Lucy’s Score’s best book to date!

Overall this was a wholesome book with amazing characters that had me in tears by the end. I wish I could read it over and over again!

Big thank you to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Lucy Score, an author that I have read most of their catalog, has done it again! Maggie Moves On is a super sweet, super steamy, romantic comedy about a YouTube home renovation expert who barrels into Kinship, ID, and into the lives of those who live there. Silas, otherwise known as Hot Landscaper Guy, falls in love instantly but Maggie takes a bit more convincing. Maggie travels from town to town renovating and flipping homes, never settling down or even taking a break in between. She's a type A workaholic with a sarcastic and also loving side. Silas owns his own landscaping business and wins a contract to work on the Old Campbell Place for Maggie. He is more of a carefree, listens to his guy kind of a guy that makes it his personal mission to get Maggie to ease up a bit. As the crews breathe life back into the historic home, Maggie finds herself immersed in the crews and the town. They also stumble on a little mystery in the house. It was really sweet to see the whole family evolve throughout the story. Highly recommend this book and be sure to check out Lucy Score's other books on Amazon!
