Excuse me while I wipe this silly ass grin off my face! This book was EVERYTHING & I officially have a new book boyfriend- enter, Silas Wright. He is the sweetest, most determined, and downright hilarious hero you’ll meet.
Maggie lands in Kinship, Idaho determined to renovate a dilapidated mansion. She’s committed to breathing life into the house and sharing the house’s MANY secrets and mysteries with the her loyal subscribers. Silas, her new landscape genius, falls HARD and fast for Maggie. He’s on a mission to prove to Maggie that she’s where she needs to be. He leads Maggie on an accidental journey of self- discovery. This book has it all— romance, steamy scenes, hilarious banter and heart aching, tear inducing moments. Through it all, you get to meet the Wrights and Maggie’s business partner/ best friend Dean (WHO IS HILARIOUS) all while slowly falling in love with this small town. You’re in for a real treat with this one! I absolutely am TEAM #MILAS!

Thank you so much to Grand Central Publishing and Lucy Score for an ARC of Maggie Moves On! This book was an absolutely delightful read that felt like a warm hug. While this book didn’t drastically stand out from other contemporary romances I’ve read recently, it definitely gave me those warm and fuzzy feelings that some of my favorite books give me.
While Lucy Score’s book “Things We Never Got Over” had an underlying thriller plot, “Maggie Moves On” had a mystery subplot. While I normally don’t read mystery books, I thoroughly enjoyed this plot line! I can’t wait to get a physical copy of this book when it comes out in June and I highly recommend it to others.

THIS WAS SO GOOD!
This romance novel had a little bit of everything and it somehow worked! There literally is both a grumpy old man that Maggie charms and a troubled teen that she basically adopts. PLUS an old house she is repairing, family secrets, a small town setting, multiple mysteries about the town, a loving and chaotic family, a hyper dog, KITTENS, and more.
I had never read a Lucy Score book before and I already am starting my second. I have no idea how she managed to pack in so many cute/heartwarming things into this book and yet still have time for the couple, but wow it was a fun time.
My only critique is that there were a lot of characters (which I loved), but it took a second to figure out who everyone was and how they were connected.
TW: death of a family member, strained relationship with parent
Maggie Moves On is a sweet and sassy rom-com romance. Maggie is a house flipping YouTube star starting a new project and is working with sexy landscaper Silas and his awesome dog Kevin.
I love details, and this book is written in beautiful detail, where the is no question of what is going on and have descriptions of everything down to wallpaper and tile colors of Maggie’s home restoration. I also loved the balance between Maggie and Silas how they are opposites, but perfectly challenge and support each other. There is also amazing banter between all the characters.
My only dislikes of the book were the pacing of the story since this book has multiple storylines which are great, but overshadow the relationship between Maggie and Silas at times and cause the story to be drawn out and the ending to be rushed to close all the story lines. Even though I felt the ending was rushed I appreciate that we are told the HEA everyone gets. My second dislike is Silas at the beginning of the story. I love a good alpha hero, but Silas is very forward and overbearing with Maggie considering they are strangers. I found a bit creepy and a turn-off.
Overall I recommend this book if looking for a lighthearted sweet romantic comedy to laugh and swoon. I know this is Lucy Score’s first wide release book and I feel it is worth giving it a chance.
I was honored to receive an ARC and voluntarily leaving a review and want to thank Grand Central Publishing, Lucy Score, and Netgalley.
Maggie Moves On is a wonderful story about a fixer-upper YouTube personality that takes on the task of renovating a gorgeous property and mansion in Idaho.
The story follows the theme of found family and finding a place to call home, has the cutest rascal of a pitbull, and the grumpy-sunshine trope (which I love because the roles are flipped!)
The story gave me Mr. Kate and XOMaCenna vibes with the youtube filming and lingo, the romance had butterflies in my stomach the whole time because I just wanted them to get together NOW, and did I mention there's a hidden treasure?
Some things to keep in mind, although the characters are white, Silas's step-family is black and the author mentions the discrepancies in upbringing and lives they'll lead, and particularly (since he's an MC) how Silas needs to utilize his privilege. This felt even more important because his brother is a double minority, being a gay man in small-town Idaho.
Thanks to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review and the opportunity to read this work of art.

Brief Summary: When Maggie buys The Old Campell home her plan is to flip it and move on, just like she has with every other home she's purchased. Things may change though when she meets "Hot Landscaper Guy" and gets to know the small town and all its residents.
This was such a sweet book!! Lucy Score is now becoming one of my auto-read authors it seems!
The character growth, the romance, the found family, the mystery it was all handled so well!! There was a bit of a slow burn type romance here too. Her ability to handle well-written diversity here is also wonderful, we see beautiful relationships, romantic, platonic, and familial, as well as diversity in race and sexual orientation.
I loved seeing Maggie grow into herself, accept herself, and build her own family. The side characters were also so wonderful and it was great to read about them as well.

Thank you to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for a unbias review.
What a delightful, beautiful, and moving story that had so much depth that I had no choice but to give it five stars by the end. I love Maggie and Silas and this may be my favorite Lucy Score novel yet.
Quick Synopsis: Maggie is a YouTube home renovation sensation quickly approaching 1 Million followers when she buys her next house: a rundown old victorian in the middle of nowhere (Kinship) Idaho. She and her partner Dean work to renovate houses and restore them to their former glory before selling and moving on to their next project. What they didn’t anticipate, however, was Silas, the hot landscaper, who sets his eye on Maggie, determined to build a relationship and a family with her before she moves on.
What I liked:
- In classic Lucy Score fashion, this is a witty, banter-filled story with incredible character dynamics and development throughout this punchy novel.
- The storyline is creative and well-done. I just read another “home renovation” themed novel and was hesitant to take on another with a similar premise, but this was brilliantly done and exceeded my expectations.
- The nuance was incredible and it brought everything together at the end so well and beautifully that you finally see the full picture of just how far Maggie and Silas have developed.
- The world was so wholesome. I loved all the characters and all the storylines that existed outside of Maggie and Silas.
- The descriptions are beautiful. I could literally see the sunshine and the home that they renovated in my mind and honestly, this book should be a movie. I would watch it over and over.
I’m so excited for everyone to read this. It is a great, happy, but emotional read that had me tearing up by the end of the book.
A really fun, engaging, and multi-layered story. Every single character is interesting and has a storyline that you want to read about. Silas is the first to be smitten and his lines are hysterical, actually most of the dialogue is LOL funny, and even when they are fighting their one-liners are quick and snappy. and I wanted a Kevin of my own. , Maggie has a lot of belief in her business abilities but less about her emotional ones and her reunion with her sister is touching. Silas's brother his brother Micahel and her ex Dean are so so sweet, The epilogue was so so satisfying,

I feel torn on how to review this book. On one hand I loved Maggie. Fiercely independent, building her empire. I loved that her best friend was her ex-husband, their relationship was so healthy and wonderful. She's taken hardship from her life and turned it into her passion, one she's entirely in charge of. Even her issues with commitment were very relatable. Her growth and character arc were well done.
Unfortunately this book is just too long, and gets weighed down in its multiple external plots, not letting the romance breathe. This almost felt like a fiction with a romance subplot at times which is how I'd categorize it if Silas didn't have his own POV. Part of this is just my personal preference, I enjoy stories more about the internal conflicts than the external ones so if that's not a hang up for you ignore this.
I loved Silas at first. Gone on Maggie from the second he laid his eyes on her. But that's his entire characterization in this book. He doesn't have his own clinch point or something driving his plot forward, and doesn't seem to love Maggie just the idea of her. Wrapped up in his alphaness and toxic masculinity it made it difficult to root for him. Never gave Maggie room or understanding as she changes, she does all of the emotional heavy lifting in this book. Maggie deserves love as we all do, but she also deserves someone who sees her and doesn't expect her to change for them.
I loved seeing Maggie adapt and start to set up roots, taking care of Cody, making friends, her relationship with her ex/best friend growing as well.

This might be one of my favorite Lucy Score books! The way everyone comes together for each other, the mystery of the house, all of it on top of the romance between the hot gardener and the home renovator! Lucy has a way with writing brilliant side characters that are just as important to the story as the main characters but never taking away from them. You not only give her main characters lots of thought after reading her books but those side characters stick with you as well. I loved this book, I felt like I was right there in the thick of the renovations and the mystery! Beautiful story and a must read!
Lucy Score outdid herself with this book! I was hooked on this story from chapter 2 (I wish I could say chapter 1, but Silas drew me into this story and kept me from his first chapter.) I don’t even know where to start, so I guess I’ll start with the obvious. Silas! This man was a goner from the second he laid eyes on Maggie and I’ve never read about a hero being so taken with someone. It made my heart so happy. The second best part of this book? The found family. I can’t count the number of times I was tearing up because of some sweet moment between all of the characters, I loved them all so much. The third best part? This book is hilarious. I was either laughing out loud or grinning for 75% of this story. There was not a single part of this book that I disliked and I absolutely cannot wait until this comes out in paperback so I can snag a copy and do a reread.
Lucy Score, you have a reader for life after this one. Chef’s kiss. This book was everything to me. I know this will be one of my top reads of 2022 and it has quickly made its way on my top romance reads of all times list.
Thank you #NetGalley and #Forever for providing me with an early read of this for my honest review

Perfect romcom book. A bit predictable but still made me want to keep reading! Maggie is a stubborn independent woman who really grows as a character and it was fun to read. I enjoyed this book. It also had a bit of steam in it!
I’ll admit…this book took me a while to get into. I feel like it’s like that with a lot of new books. It’s not that Lucy’s writing is bad. But it was just different.
We have Maggie. She’s starting a renovation project on this McMansion. With her partner Dean, they map out where to start along with planning out when to film episodes for Maggie’s YouTube channel. Next we have Silas. He was an absolute breath of fresh air. He’s the landscaper in Kinship and is tasked with reviving the land that the house sits on. Silas comes right out the gate with a lot of enthusiasm. He’s charming with his loyal sidekick Kevin (his dog).
Let’s talk about the town. I loved it and wished that I grew up someplace like it. Having a community that becomes an extended family is a blessing that not a lot of people get.
Despite Silas claiming his undying love for Maggie the second they meet (which was so cute BTW!), as the story unfolds he sees that she doesn’t take anytime for herself to just be. So part of his mission becomes getting her to relax. To actually make memories. And I loved that. Maggie was so strung tight that it sometimes hurt reading her parts.
I liked that Lucy had Maggie’s home involved in a set of Ol Town mystery from the 1800s. It really kept the book going as a new clue was found. The side characters were so vital to the story. I didn’t find them annoying in the least. The only reason this book isn’t a perfect 5 star read is for that little blowup at the end. I think they both could have (mainly Silas) gotten past the road bump if they both just took a breath. Otherwise I liked this book a lot.
Rating 4.5 stars.
Thank you NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the ARC.
This is my first Lucy Score, and I will be reading more of her work. The main love story and all the side stories are just beautifully intertwined. Her character developed is great and you grow to love each and every character... (Kevin should be everyone favourite by the end of this book). At some points it did drag a big, and I'm not the biggest fan of insta-love, but it is definitely a good read.
I absolutely loved everything about this book!! The chemistry between Maggie and Silas, Maggie's friendship with Dean, the way Maggie inherited a family while working on the mansion, add in renovating a mansion PLUS a treasure hunt on the side? Easy 5 stars from me.
Lucy Score has done it again. I enjoyed this book so much. I love how score writes her characters and the chemistry between them is just immaculate. I cant wait to purchase the paperback once it comes out.
i can already tell that this is going to be my comfort rom-com read 🤧 i honestly have nothing negative to say, i absolutely adored every single second of this book — I don’t think I’ve smiled this much while reading anything in a long time.
i adored every single goddamn character (kevin the pitbull and the kittens at the top of the pyramid, obviously) so much and the found family dynamic was SO CUTE my heart is so full right now. Silas (aka hot landscaping guy 🥵) is a dreamboat who falls in love with Maggie (a home-reno icon) literally at first sight and, while I usually find that the “love-at-first-sight” trope gives me the ick because it’s so unrealistic, this one was done so well that I was rooting for them the whole time. I swooned instead of going 🤢 when Silas would refer to Maggie as his future wife, which is honestly a testament to the writing. I also loved the whole Cody and Wallace side-story lines so much — literally what didn’t I love I swear 😮💨🥴
not only is this a swoon-worthy, warm-and-fuzzy, and SPICY 🌶🥵 (and ouuu baby was the spice GOOD 🤌😮💨), but there was a treasure hunt element too??? bro literally chefs kiss i am OBSESSED 😍
if you like rom-coms with a lot of conflict/“will they or won’t they” tension then this definitely won’t be for you. Silas and Maggie are two of the most mature MCs I’ve ever come across so literally every minor inconvenience is dealt with so well and the communication is immaculate 😤🕺
I can’t wait to read more by Lucy Score — one book and she already has my undying loyalty 🙌
Thank you SO MUCH to NetGalley and Hachette Book Group for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest thoughts. Literally in love with this book ♥️
It was a DNF. I loved the idea of small town romance & flipping houses. However, it was slow paced and I wanted to keep reading but i just couldn’t get through it.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for an early copy of this ebook! I really enjoyed reading Maggie and Silas' love story! I am obsessed with all of the shows on HGTV, so I loved reading a romance book with a protagonist that flips houses on YouTube for a living. I am also all for a grumpy-sunshine relationship, especially when the female is the grumpier one. I thought their dynamic was super cute, and I enjoyed reading how it played out.
I still don't know how I feel about the side story of Maggie's family issues. I feel like it was briefly mentioned only a couple times throughout most of the book, and it only really took off around the 75% mark of the story. I really liked the very ending with the conclusion of everyone's stories, but I felt like Maggie and Silas' relationship was pretty rushed at the end of the main story.
Overall, I really liked this book and had a lot of fun reading it. This was my first time reading a book by this author, and I definitely want to read more!
