This book is a perfect example of why I adore Lucy Score's novels. She is a fantastic story-teller. Her books generally have great banter between the love interests and who doesn't love that?! The cast of supporting characters are people you want to get to know in real life and there's usually one or two that crack you up or you could imagine as your BFF. And darn it, she always brings ALL THE FEELS. I was reading this on a plane and trying to surreptitiously wipe away my tears even though they were tears of pride and happiness. She just sucks you in...all the way in!
I’m a huge fan of Lucy Score and once again I was not disappointed! This was such a cute, light hearted easy read that I will definitely recommend
Thank you NetGalley, Lucy Score and Forever for the ARC of Maggie Moves On. This is my personal review.
I love all the home shows on TV and this book was just a great addition to my addiction to this type of show.
Maggie was up for the next challenge in her life and going to Kinship Idaho to make a mansion that was falling apart back into a beautiful home fits the challenge she wants to do.
She has everything all set to accomplish this and then in steps a landscaper that is an amazing looking man just oozing sex appeal.
House reno, sexy landscaper, small town feel, and a little bit of mystery made me so glad I read this book.
This is the first book I have read by this author, and it will not be the last.
Funny book!!! This book reminded me flipping houses shows from tv. It was a cute book. It contained the typical blonde bombshell and hunky braggart. They weren’t against each other. However, the love had to grow.
Lucy Score is one of my go-to authors. I enjoyed this book. I like the mix of humor with romance. The H was great.
This is my first Lucy Score book and as hard as I tried, I just couldn't finish it. The premise was interesting and I was excited to get into it, but it was just too long and the chapters dragged a little for me. What I did read was perfectly fine, there just wasn't enough to keep me invested in finishing it.
Maggie Moves On was a fun, sexy, flirty, surprising delight! This opposites-attract, small-town romance was everything I hoped it would be. This was my Lucy Score book, and I loved her writing style.
Maggie Nichols has a popular YouTube show where she renovates and flips houses. Always on to the next challenge, she never puts down roots. She just arrived in beautiful Kinship, Idaho for her next flip, a dilapidated Victorian mansion with a gorgeous view. Silas Wright is also a gorgeous view. He's the good-natured, and hot landscaper she hires, who falls for her instantly and shamelessly flirts his way into her heart. Sparks fly, as these two have serious chemistry—and things get real steamy. But the strength of this book, in my opinion, is how well developed the characters are, and not just the mains. The strong cast of secondary characters also made me care about them. Score gives them big personalities, full back-stories, and interesting sub-plots. Silas' family was a wonderful group I would have loved to spend more time with, as well as the book's number one scene-stealer, Kevin, the dog. Found family is a theme running throughout the story in several heartwarming ways. The book has more layers than I expected, including an old mystery to solve, yet it maintained a perfect beach read tone. I finished it with a smile on my face. Highly recommended! Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the opportunity to review this ARC. I will be telling my friends about it!
4.5/5
A charming small-town romance filled with hilarious! I loved Maggie Moves On! It was sweet, swoony, and funny.
Featuring an array of interesting characters, this story provides mystery, heat, and a cinnamon roll hero who is all in. This is my first Lucy Score book and I look forward to many more!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with this eArc in exchange for an honest review.
I don't think I have the words to fully express to you how much I enjoyed this book. The characters within the story and the multiple levels of stories made this one reread worthy before I even hit the halfway mark. Memories bring Maggie to the Old Campbell house. It's her newest project and it's obvious from the start this one won't be easy. A gorgeous alpha landscaper is there to add heat and even fun in the form of his dog Kevin.
There's a number of side characters and stories that happen throughout as well that make this one such a great overall read. Be prepared for it to tug at your heartstrings in ways that are unexpected. I could have done without the wrapup summary endings but otherwise loved everything about this book.
Thank you to Read Forever Publishing for our gifted ARC of Maggie Moves on by Lucy Score. This book publishes on June 21, 2022.
Rating: 4 star
Genre: Romance
After reading Things We Never Got Over, Lucy Score became a new favorite author of ours. We were so excited to read her first novel from Read Forever Publishing. I'm not going to lie our favorite part was finding out that it was set in Idaho!!! I laughed so hard at the fry sauce and finger steaks references, and yes both are found in Idaho:)
You might enjoy this book if you like:
-small-town romances
-romances where the male character falls in love first
-anything that Lucy Score writes!
Maggie is a house flipper with over 900,000 followers on YouTube. She
buys the Old Campbell house with the intention of fixing it up, selling it and moving on, but she finds so much more…
Silas is a landscaper hired to help Maggie with her next project. When he meets her he immediately knows she’s the one for him and has four months to show her just how perfect they are for each other.

Maggie moves on was such a fun read! I was smiling from beginning to end (AND THE SPICE?!! 🥵)
Silas is a family oriented, possessive business owner who jumps first and asks later. Maggie is a planner who may have more items on her lists than clothes in her suitcase.
One of my favorite parts of the book was the theme of family. It was so wholesome. 🥺 Blended family, chosen family, healthy communication, unique and diverse characters. The way they communicated and celebrated each other…I loved how this book showed how family is more than the people you’re born with. [Not to be corny but I could definitely feel the love through the pages, I was laughing and celebrating right with them😂🥰]
The banter between all the characters and especially Silas and Maggie was hilarious I definitely found myself laughing out loud a few times.
There were times I was not a fan of Silas’ possessiveness. However I feel that the things I did not like about Silas were also the things vital to his character development. Characters like people should grow through their story, this does not should not (and for me did not) take away from the likability of the story as a whole.

That being said I absolutely adored this book and if you’re a fan of; comedic romances, love at first sight, pitbulls with tons of personality, possessive men, nosy family members and small towns (and maybe a bit of mystery)…Then I highly recommend you check out Maggie Moves on out on June 21, 2022!
I am such a big fan of Lucy Score so when I saw Maggie Moves on, I was excited because I knew i would love it. I'm such a big fan of renovating shows, makeovers and interior design so i think anyone that also loves watching those will gravitate towards the book and love it.
She is this fiercely independent woman and he is the flirty landscaper, right away he makes his feelings known and he does not want to play with her knowing that her visit is not forever. I liked that he didn't play mind games with her and that he was so supportive of her, He loved who she was and wanted to be part of whatever she wanted to be and that's something really special to see because often times women's sparkle gets tampered down because the man doesn't like how big she dreams or too ambitious but he did not, he loved that about her and motivated her to keep going and that's what i loved. Maggie is more reserved and skeptical but he shows her with actions versus words and together they become a powerhouse renovating duo.
That to me made the book so enjoyable and loved reading their journey going from strangers, co-workers, to friends to lovers and becoming together such a strong force and a healthy and happy relationship. The epilogue was also so cute and i loved where they ended up. I would've liked to see more of the dialogue instead of it feeling a little rushed but overall, a great funny, so cute and heartwarming book.
"I know I'm coming on strong, and I know a lot of it's just flirtatious fun. But when I look at you, Mags, I see something I've been waiting for."
What You'll Find:
✔️Workplace Romance
✔️Smalltown
✔️Opposites Attract
✔️Slow Burn
✔️Dual POV
Maggie is a house flipper and YouTube star. When she sets her sights on restoring a crumbling Victoria mansion in smalltown Idaho, she gets way more than she bargained for. Including a seemingly jinxed kitchen, solving a town mystery, and all while dealing with a flirtatious (and sexy) landscaper named Silas. He's sure she's 'the one'. But she's not one for roots, and once the reno is done she'll be hitting the road. It doesn't take long for sparks to fly though, and the summer to heat up.
Maggie Moves On is such a feel good story, you will want to go back when you're done and read it all over again. It has heart and humor. Sexy tension and chemistry. It will pull you in and make your heart warm. It was just such a pleasure to read.
"Maggie Nichols, I don't mean to scare you off, but I think you might be the girl of my dreams."
Maggie is her own brand of a fantastic unique heroine. But I can not say enough about how much I loved Silas. An absolute flirt who brings on the charm from the get go. So playful. But when we get to see his serious and protective side, wowzers. No matter what Maggie throws at him, he's there. These two have some serious chemistry, though it slow burns. But let me tell you, the wait is worth it!
I love a home reno storyline. This was no exception. All the side characters, so enjoyable in just making this story complete. Especially Kevin. That dog will be a highlight of you day reading this story. This charming story takes its time, so get comfy and enjoy it all play out. Especially since it will have you laughing when you least expect it. Another Lucy Score favorite I am still smiling about. Check it out on release day!

This author is becoming one of my favorites with her quick wit and small-town romance stories. This felt like a plot pulled from a home improvement type show. I did like that, but the part that I didn't like was the soapbox agenda that was threaded through the story.
I finished this one but it was not my favorite from this author.
This was my first read by Lucy Score but it won’t be my last. This was a really cute book. A little bit of mystery and a lot of romance with some family dynamics thrown in along the way. This will make a great beach read for the summer.
Thank you to Netgalley and to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for giving me an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Ok, the best character in this book HANDS DOWN is Kevin. 100%!! I would have read about his antics all day. Did I mention that he's a dog?! Gotta love it.
I really enjoyed the humor in this book. It had be laughing out loud quite a bit, especially at the beginning. I also loved Silas's family dynamics - they also were a fun set of side characters and I wouldn't be sad to learn more about them.
This book is steamy. Woo steamy steamy! Stay away if that's not your thing. It's not entirely mine either but I kind of just skim through the parts because I enjoy the surrounding story.
It also got me a little teared up at the end. I ended up heading to bed with slightly puffy eyes.
Soo, a few things I did love... ugh, we have the affectionate use of the word 'darlin' again which I HATE. Sorry but this is feels like such a dated word to me. I also wish the very end had been written as an epiologue instead of a rushed summary smooshed into a few paragraphs.
I also sometimes find romance books tie up endings too "perfectly". I wish they would end a little differently sometimes. Overall, I did enjoy this and would recommend to others.
Thank you to @netgalley and @readforeverpub for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
I loved the family dynamics of this fun and quick read! Such a great small town feel and great cast of characters. Also- love when there is an animal character and I had so much fun reading about Kevin!
Small town romance with laugh out loud moments! Maggie Moves On was a sweet, swoony, and funny delight!
With a cast of enjoyable side characters, this story brings mystery, heat, and a
Hero who is ALL IN. And who doesn’t love a cinnamon roll hero who is all in?
This was my first Lucy score book and will not be my last! I am looking forward to digging into her extensive backlist.
I received an advanced copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Will post to amazon and bookbub as soon as release occurs.
Maggie Moves On was my first Lucy Score novel and I definitely liked it! I found the home renovation fun and enjoyable.
The story had a wonderful plot with great characters - Dean, Kevin the dog, and Silas’ family - although I found Silas to be too possessive.
I always enjoy when a story has an epilogue, and maybe it was just me, but I found the ending to be wrapped up a bit “too perfect”.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever.
This book was so cute. It was a refreshing read that helped me get out of a slump. I highly recommend it.
