This was such a great book! Lucy Score knows how to give you all the feels. Such well drawn characters and a setting that draws you in. She has a way of making her books feel so real.
The heat level is lower than her indie titles which doesn't take anything away from the work for me personally, but some may be surprised. Don't worry though. The emotional connection between Maggie and Sy is just as strong and heartwarming throughout.
My only feedback (and take it lightly because I think this is a stellar story) is it feels like Sy changes partway through the book. He seems like a much more positive/happy go lucky Ted Lasso type at the beginning and then suddenly became more of an alpha male. I still loved his character overall, but he did change and it was a notable difference for me. Perhaps that was meant to be the change that occurred in him when he found love in Maggie and started to care for her in a deeper way?
Regardless, I loved this book. Lucy Score is a fantastic writer and I'm looking forward to the next books in this series!
Fiercely independent house flipper/YouTube star, Maggie, finds herself in a small Idaho town rehabbing an old mansion and town landmark. When the local crew she hires to help her includes a hot landscaper, Silas; he makes it clear that it is time for Maggie to finally settle down with him.
This is the first Lucy Score book that I have read and I will definitely be reading more! Strong female lead, sensitive male lead with charming banter. This book is perfect for fans of Jill Mansell, Christina Lauren, Sophie Cousens and Jen DeLuca.
I love a hero who falls in love on page one. Seriously, a guy who is so IN and dedicated and declares the heroine his future wife in the first chapter? I can’t read enough of these cinnamon rolls.
I almost died in chapter three. Maggie and Dean watching Silas was hysterical.
Maggie is an excellent heroine. She is not going to be charmed by Silas…yet.
The mystery aspect was a lot of fun, the side characters (diversity! Silas’ family! All the trades!) amazing, and the steam so on-point.
I love that Lucy Score creates such strong females, sexy lovable males, and worlds with characters that are well developed that you feel you are part of their town.
Maggie has such commitment issues that she bounces from project to project. She starts looking for her new home renovation before finishing the current one so that she doesn’t have to stay too long in one place. And she totally plans to do that again, but this sexy landscaper, Silas, has different plans for her.
The chemistry is smoking between these two as Maggie tries to stay aloof and Silas tries to make her slow down and fall in love with the town of Kinship and him. The love story is beautiful and realistic. The way Lucy Score weaves the story line is pure magic! I was soo vested in the mystery of the Old Campbell place that I couldn’t put the book down. Another great read from Lucy Score, she never disappoints!
Here I sit at just after 6am. I just finished Maggie Moves On. I only have one problem with this book: it ended.
I don't usually write many reviews. Lucy's books are hard to review. Nobody wants to read a review that just gushes about how fantastic a book is without at least a few criticisms. Her books are always great, with real, human characters with flaws and strengths that make them so much more relatable that most characters in the genre. This book is no exception. Maggie and Silas aren't just there to hit all the classic notes in a traditional romance (meet cute, first kiss, sexy times, crisis, reunion , HEA). They have real goals and dreams, relationships with both blood and built family, and baggage. Even the supporting characters are complex. It is a true testament to a good book when I want to know the back story of all the supporting characters. The romance is centerpiece in this book, it is beautifully layered with family relationships, community, and mystery.
Trust me, just read this book. Then go back and read Lucy's entire backlist. You will not be disappointed.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thanks so much to both author and publisher!
I think I am in the minority. I couldn’t get into this book. I didn’t find the main characters likable.

This book is fantastic! It is everything you want in a romance novel. Lucy has outdone herself with the book! I will definitely be rereading it multiple times!! I can’t say enough good things about this book!
As usual, Lucy Score takes a love a reading to a whole new level. Lucy pours her heart and soul into character building AND. IT. SHOWS! Maggie Movies On has all the feels of a Happily Ever After (HEA) - from the broody best friend to the over-confident-defines-his-own-reality prince charming and that epic female heroin that we all dream of personifying.. Whether you are brand new to Lucy Freaking Score's Awesomeness or an avid follower, MMO will not disappoint!!!
When commitment-phobe Maggie moves to Kinship, Idaho to renovate a crumbling mansion, the "Hot Landscaper Guy" she hires is immediately smitten, and naturally, chaos ensues. Even the minor characters are fully developed, and a fun mystery is expertly weaved through the steamy romance. This book is full of heat and heart, with a great twist on the typical grumpy-sunshine trope. With Maggie Moves On, Lucy Score creates an immersive world that I didn't want to leave.
Even though I finished this book last night, I am still having trouble putting into words how amazing this book is.
With laugh out loud moments throughout the book, and a few shocking discoveries, this book has completely grabbed my heart.
Silas is one of those heroes that knows he’s found his partner and is not afraid to say it, especially to her face. Maggie’s character is one that I can idolize. She’s hands on and loves fixing up houses.
Usually I cry while reading a book when it’s extremely heart wrenching and emotional. Lucy Score made me cry because her characters reconciled in the most perfect way, as a way through fate and a sign.
Lucy Score creates these amazing stories about found families, about loving the people that deserve to be loved the most. Her small town romances should not be missed, and I highly recommend this one.
Lucy Score has another winner with Maggie Moves On. 4 Stars. Complex, well formed MCs, witty banter, humor, a mystery, amazing supporting characters…. And the dog! Kevin!
A mystery surrounds the house that is being renovated for a show, there is an instant attraction between the Maggie and Silas (the landscape architect), humor and romance ensue. It is a happy, low angst read. That being said, at times I was somewhat more interested in the supporting characters and the mystery and the dog than with our H and h.
Not in my Top 5 Lucy Score books but a 4 star read cause she always writes great stories even if the MCs aren’t your favorites.
This is an honest review given about the ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

Lucy Score does it again!
Maggie and Silas had such amazing banter and push pull that I wanted it to go on forever! I loved that Silas fell first. I loved that he just knew that they were meant to be together but he kind of let Maggie get there on her own. (With a few helpful pushes!) I loved the amazing family that Silas comes from and how they all support each other 100%. I love that Maggie builds her own amazing family in Kinship. Family isn't always the one you are born into. That this wonderful group of people just naturally came together and end up living under one roof was perfect! Kevin! This dog was such an integral part of the story, he definitely deserves mention.
I loved this book! It made me laugh out loud at a time when I really needed that! It made me think about my own found family and how lucky I am. It made me wonder if there might be more stories coming to us from Kinship? Mostly, it made me really happy to have another Lucy Score couple to root for!
Maggie Moves On is a fun read from Lucy Score. I read most of this book in one afternoon, and that pretty much tells you everything you need to know about it.
HGTV meets small-town meets chemistry galore. The character of Maggie was a very likable character, and her journey to find a community ( despite her ever-growing online one), was really sweet and I found myself rooting for her the whole way.
Now about Silas, Wow. what a man. If you are into the guy falling first, flirty banter, a heart of gold in the streets, and not so much in the sheets (hee-hee), then honey, I have found your next fictitious. Ugh, Animal Lover, not afraid of a powerful woman, loves his mom(s). When I tell you I want to pluck him out of this book for myself, I mean it. I just can't get over it.
The plot was really cute and the dog was adorable. It made me want to escape to a mansion overlooking a small town. I found myself looking at Zillow after finishing the book, thinking "I could be like Maggie".
The secondary characters were really well developed as well. Multi-dimensional, with their own storylines. Can't ask for anything more.
Semi-wish fulfillment, and full of heart, I would recommend this book to anyone.

I am a big Lucy Score fan. I loved this book right from the start and couldn't put it down. It's been one of my favorite books of hers so far!
This is one of my favorite Lucy books to date. Once you start it is so hard to put down. I hated the fact I had to adult and had to take breaks in reading. You laugh, swoon, tear up, and even want to smack someone upside the head at times. It’s the perfect mix of everything you want in a rom-com. This is a must read that needs to be at the top of your list. The characters are perfect and their stories make you want to live in their world permanently. Loved it and know it will be one I reread over and over again.
There's a lot to love about a cinnamon roll sweetheart who falls hard and fast for his girl - this hero was GREAT! As a longtime fan of Score's work, I was excited to dive into this and see how her style changes for a more "traditional" romance audience. This still has the same small town feel and found family vibe as many of her other romances, with a more laidback tone and slightly less heat. Still pretty steamy at times (our sweet cinnamon roll hero definitely has a possessive streak), but the overall tone is less angsty and more lighthearted overall. It's also not first person perspective, which I didn't even notice until I was about halfway through. And the length is about 100 pages shorter than other books I've read by Score, which was honestly just right for the story. This was maybe missing that bit of sizzle that I love about Score's books, but the slow burn romance, inclusivity, and community aspect definitely made this a very solid read, and I ended up bingeing it in one sitting.
The story follows Maggie, a social media star who makes a living by flipping houses and documenting the process for her followers. She's never in one place for long, so she's never set down roots anywhere - and never really plans to either. But when Maggie buys a giant, rundown mansion, she sees the potential in her biggest project yet. And the sexy, smitten landscaper she hires for the job certainly makes sticking around a little easier. Silas is hit with a zap of connection the moment he meets Maggie (his future wife, if you ask him), and the good-natured, hometown guy is determined to convince Maggie that they're meant to be. As they spend time working on the project of a lifetime, Silas and Maggie build a relationship that just might be made to last.
The renovation aspect of this reminded me of one of my old favorites from Score, Mr. Fixer Upper, but that's where most of the similarities end. This hero is kind, caring, easygoing, and confident in their connection. Yeah, it's a little ridiculous that Silas is so head-over-heels right away, but you've gotta love a committed man. And he never once wavers - which is exactly what this broken heroine needs in her life. The sense of community and cast of characters definitely made this a richer read, and it's got a lot more going on that "just" the romance, though that's absolutely the focal point. There's a diverse group of characters, which enhances the found family vibe. I loved the slow burn that built on an instant connection, and the steamy scenes were certainly fan-worthy. Silas may be a nice guy, but he can still get a little dirty. What really won me over though is the build in intimacy and level of depth that develops over time, which is what makes this such a fulfilling read. It was a touch too slow here or there, but this was a great, low angst, small town story. I was lucky enough to receive an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this heartwarming read.
I really liked this book. The characters were likeable and relatable and it was such a feel good story. I would love to see a sequel!
I am already a fan of Lucy Score's books. I discovered her about 2 years ago and I have been enjoying discovering all of her titles. Maggie Moves On kept me turning the pages and not wanting to put it down. The characters felt real, they were fun and interesting. This book grabs you from the beginning and there is just this adorable relationship progression. I really enjoyed this book, I wanted to start it over the second I finished it.
YouTube, home improvement, a hot landscaper with a dog, and a hardworking woman with a heart of gold. This book was everything with all the feels. Maggie is a successful house flipper with a YouTube show. Her latest flip takes her to small town Idaho and it’s her biggest job yet. Has she bitten off more than she can chew? Lucy Score is amazing as always. She has a way of storytelling breaks you down and puts you back together. I loved every word you in this book!
