I loved this book! I honestly can't think of a thing I didn't like about it. Maggie and Sy were so likeable and Sy is my most favorite Hero, sweet and loving! The side characters, everyone of them, were great! The little bit of mystery thrown in was fabulous and i couldn't wait to see how it all wrapped up. Definitely a 5 star book, I truly enjoyed it.

Maggie Nichols is a house flipper with a YouTube channel that has nearly 1 million followers. While Maggie has been successful in her professional life, she hasn't found success in her private life. She has come to the small town of Kinship, Idaho to do her biggest rehab yet. Her business partner and friend, Dean, doesn't understand why she chose this town or a project this big. But Maggie has a different view of Kinship. Some of the few happy memories in her life were set in this town.

Silas Wright is the "Hot Landscaper". He has recently finally broken things off for good with his on again, off again long time girlfriend. He goes to the site of Maggie's new flip to give her a bid for the landscaping on the project. He immediately feels the sparks fly between he and Maggie and thinks she is "the one". But Maggie gives his dog, Kevin, more attention than Silas. That doesn't stop Silas from trying.

As the story unfolds, Maggie and Silas grow closer. The story is filled with the greatest supporting characters! I loved them all. We learn that sometimes things aren't what they seem and that people can absolutely be victims of circumstance.

This is a great story filled with lots of snorty laugh out loud funny moments and plenty of heart melting relationships are formed. Kinship is exactly the kind of town I'd love to live in.

Lucy Score creates the most amazing characters! By chapter two I was already in love with Silas and by chapter four him and Kevin had me laughing out loud! This book is sweet and swoon worthy and a definite must read!

I adore Lucy's writing.
This is flirty, fun, and provides many smiles.
I love Sy's level of determination. He's the perfect amount of cocky and comfortable in his own skin. Maggie is spot when when she says he's delicious.
I fell in love the entire cast and at the end felt complete.

I have been a fan of Lucy Score's books for about a year now and she did not disappoint with this one. She creates characters that you can relate to and a community you wouldn't mind living in. The story line is never dull. The combination of a great romance with laughter, adventure and a nice mystery added keeps you glued to it till the very last page.

I am a big Lucy Score fan and was very very excited to read this one! And I knew pretty quickly I was really going to like it!

Going in, I had no clue that this was dual narration. It was a fun surprise. I loved hearing both their POV. I feel like it really adds to the story and their growing relationship.

Also, what a cast of awesome characters! Silas had such a fun supportive family and I loved how they took Maggie in as their own. It was definitely something that Maggie needed. With her family being absent/non-existent she didn't know what these sort of relationships were like and I think it helped her open up to Silas.

If you love fixer upper shows or books then this was a super fun book to read. It honestly made me want to get into it. It sounds so fun (but also like a TON of work so I'll actually just read books about it.)

This book was cheesy and fun and feel good. Highly recommend!

You know those books where you feel a pull of sadness after the last page, because you won't be seeing the characters again? That's Maggie Moves On.

I was charmed by all of the characters. You can't help but laugh at Maggie and Silas's first meeting (it's PERFECTION). Lucy Score is a master of banter. I don't usually laugh out loud at books, but I can't help it with hers, and Maggie Moves On was no exception (the downside being my kids asking me what was so funny and my response having to be "uhhh...nothing..."). The problems are real too though, handled with care and an understanding of how past traumas can impact future relationships.

A mystery is woven throughout the romance and steam, with a twist I didn't see coming.

You definitely want this on your TBR list! I was lucky to receive an ARC; you'll want to look for this on Kindle or paperback June 21st, 2022.

Lucy Score never disappoints! Maggie Moves On is a fun romp through a small town in Idaho, filled with a no nonsense heroine, a hunky, hot hero, an assortment of friendly animals and a whole town of zany characters!

Maggie arrives in Kinship to renovate an old historic house with her business partner and ex-husband, Dean. She gets a whole lot more than she bargains for when she hires Sy, a handsome landscaper who quickly sets his sights on Maggie's heart. This book is rom-com gold, with a surprise ending and many twists and turns along the way. I highly recommend it -- just be prepared to be swept into the story. It's unputdownable!

Maggie Moves On is my 2nd Lucy Score book, and after reading this one, she is officially on my list of authors to binge read. As a fellow girl who knows her way around the workbench, I fell in instalove with Maggie. She was inspiring, relatable, and witty. Go ahead and mark me down for all the Lucy Score reads. Big thank you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. 4.5 super cute and laugh out loud stars.

Maggie is a house flipper with almost a million followers, Dean her partner and best friend. She finds a home needing refurbished in Kinship, Idaho where she meets Silas, aka “the hot landscaper”. Silas knows they are meant to be from the beginning. Maggie is used to completing her projects and moving on. Can Silas change her mind? This is another wonderful book by Lucy Score. As a lover of all things Lucy writes, this one definitely is her sweet spot. Magnificently flawed characters, lots of love, laughs, and soul searching. No one does this better or with more successful results. Lucy brings all the words that make you laugh out loud, sniffle, and feel everything right along with Maggie and Silas and their friends and family. “Family is the family you make.” For those of us that have built our families by choosing them, not just by blood, this book will sing to your soul.

I discovered author Lucy Score's books about 6 months ago and have loved every one of them. I didn't think she could top, Thing You Never We Never Got Over but she has surprised and delighted me again. My husband was a builder and we flipped a house together. Maggie's story brought so many memories back. Maggie Moves On is an excellent book with wonderfully written characters, great descriptions of Idaho and how much family means. A treasure hunt, a hot landscaper, a crazy dog; this book has it all! Highly recommend reading this one.

I absolutely enjoyed everything about this book. Kevin the service dog failure. Wallace and Dean. Not only was this a well written book with a bit of mystery, it also included some situations that were not exploited or just there to add words. Also, the level of inclusivity in this book was awesome.

Note: I received an advanced copy to review. Side note: that won’t stop me from buying a signed copy if they’re made available to put alongside my other signed Lucy books, maybe right next to my signed alterna cover Grumpy Grump Face.

Let me start by saying I was transfixed from the first page. As a lifelong bookworm, that’s not abnormal for me, but it’s been more common during the past two pandemic years for me to struggle getting started.

Not this time. I opened the book and didn’t put it down again until I was finished reading it. The characters drew me in immediately, the story drew me in and had me hoping and wishing and excited to see what was to come.

I want to visit the Old Campbell Place. I want to live in Kinship. I want to hang out with Kinship’s version of Chip and JoJo and give Kevin all of the pets.

Lucy Score never disappoints, and this book is another amazing jewel in her tiara. Coming on the heels of Things We Never Got Over, which gave me an emotional book hangover for days, this book was exactly what I needed!

If you enjoy laugh-out loud romantic comedies that take place in small towns with quirky characters, then Lucy Score is the author for you. The thought she puts into her characters (including the animals because let's face it, they're characters too) is genius! Lucy Score hit it out of the park with Maggie Moves On!

House-flipper and YouTube star Maggie Nichols likes a challenge, so it's no surprise her next renovation is a dilapidated mansion in Kinship, Idaho. Being the work-a-holic she is, she's confident she can get the job done in a few months time then pack up and move on to her next renovation.
Enter hot landscape guy, Silas Wright, and his service-school dropout dog, Kevin, who fall in love at first sight and promise to make her see he's her “Mr. Right” and her reason to stay. She makes it clear she's not the settling down type, but she is willing to have some fun with him. And fun they have, especially when things get interesting with the renovation and there's a mystery to solve.

The flirtatious banter, the adventure, the nosy family, and quirky townspeople make this a laugh-out loud, heartwarming story I couldn't put down. I'd recommend this book to anyone looking for a feel-good story with some spice on the side.

Thank you NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for providing an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book, felt like Maggie was very relatable, quirky, and charming. Silas was an dreamy and enjoyable love interest for the most part. I absolutely adored the author's writing a male who is strong, but sensitive, and phenomenal at communicating. I thought the setting was absolute perfection and the story sucked in my inner child really quickly and I felt engaged fantastically in the story and adventure of it all. Just a little steam, which I appreciate less of instead of more. Some parts of the book felt redundant or like it had already been said, but it was lovely enough to keep reading.

I loved the love story of Silas and Maggie. It was this beautiful gently flowing soul opening journey of all the things and all the feelings. It’s a life and joy affirming masterpiece cleverly disguised as a romcom. Maggie is a house fixer upper/flipper. Her construction show is on YouTube with almost a million followers. She works with her BF/ex-husband and has no home base and no village. She is a self-sufficient island surrounded by a brick wall camouflaged as competent independence.. Silas is the owner of Bitterroot Landscapes and is hired to help with Maggie’s latest project in quirky small town Kinship, Idaho. Silas believes that he has met his future wife the moment he sets eyes on Maggie and he tells her so which should be creepy and stalkerish but is really adorably dorky instead. Silas is the polar opposite of Maggie. He is all roots and all village. Silas and Maggie’s relationship and who they are is revealed in an organic manner as they spend time together fixing the Old Campbell place. The book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, steamy scenes, strong friendships, supportive family, snort worthy laughs, painful pasts, adorable pets, a little mystery, and all the heart squeezing love. Experiencing the journey of Silas and Maggie as they fall in love and work through their individual issues (especially Maggie) gave me all the feels - you will definitely laugh, cry, swoon, cringe, cheer, and happy sigh. This story is a romantic comedy but it’s also a deeply emotional story about trust, finding your village and embracing the joy. “Success is only a very small part of life. That’s not how you find happiness. Because, at the end of the day, your quality of life is determined by the people you surround yourself with. The significant others, the partners, the sisters, the friends, the team you choose. The people who have your back. The people who celebrate your wins and mourn your losses with you. …it’s a truth that sooner or later we all forget. And it’s one we have to fight to remember.” This is a book you will remember.

I was hesitant going in to this book because I love most of Lucy’s work but didn’t want to set my expectations too high. I shouldn’t have been concerned because I was fully immersed by chapter two.

Lucy crafts strong characters but isn’t afraid to show their faults and vulnerabilities. This makes them relatable and sucks me into their stories. I fell in love with Maggie and her diverse and lovable tribe. They are a great example of the family you choose being as important as the the family you’re born into.

The story was a nice combination of humor, love and drama with a bit of mystery thrown in. If you like a well written story with great character development and no needless dramatics, you’ll love Maggie Moves On!

Maggie Moves On was a cute read. There was lots of wit and banter that was fun and had me laughing. The main characters fell a little flat for me though. Silas and his alpha male tendency drove me a little crazy. It was hard to see independent Maggie being okay with a man who told her what to do so often. The mystery around the Old Campbell Place had me hanging around though it was neat to see where it led.

Thanks to Netgalley for the copy of this book to read and review!

4.5⭐️this was such an amazing read! i think this solidified lucy as one of my fav authors. the way she writes romance is just AMAZING. i absolutely loved the premise here, and think it was executed so well, it literally went exactly how i wanted it to! i loved everything about this from the super engaging plot, to the pacing, to the side characters (whom i got VERY attached to), i could go on and on. i also loved the role reversal here- the male love interest being the one who falls first and being enamored with the girl who doesn’t want to admit feelings. i loved the small town setting too. silas was so great as a love interest, he was a relentless flirt but also super charming and very emotionally intelligent. i also loved maggie, i related to her a lot. the ending really made it for me, i loved the way the mystery got solved and how everyone had their happy ending without having to give up too much. i think the only thing i don’t really like is the third person pov, because i don’t really like it in romance novels, but that is the only possible flaw i can think of!
